ORA-03113: end-of-file error inconsitently from Oracle AQ operation

Hi
Here is the weird error we get when we use any Oracle AQ operation. This is very very inconsistent. This is the final pl/sql level code called from sqlplus. Exact code works sometimes and fails other times. We have no explanation why or what we are doing wrong. Any help/ideas from anyone will help
Thanks

ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

I don't think this would help, but we experienced similar strange behavior on 9.2.0.3 running on HP unix. We were simply not able to stop queue: issuing command dbms_admadm.stop_queue(... resulted in error "Not connected". Seems to me like AQ daemon problem - restart of something. We didn't check logs and since user tests are running and queue itself works, even didn't restart database.
But you can check logs and tracefiles for any weird messages.
Also these two database options comes in mind:
-- setup "aq_tm_processes" at least to 4 (because of some bug)
-- same applies to "job_queue_processes" (also at least 4)
Let me know if it works.

• ORA-03113 End-of-file error after xmltype.transform

I tried to use the xmltype.transform to transform xml data extracted from the database with a xslt contained also in the DB. If I did this with a file of 39 KB, everything works well, but when I did it with a 129 KB xslt file, I got an ora-03113 End of file error.
I suppose the error is connected to the size of the file.
Can everybody help me or suggest some ways to solve the problem?
thank you

1)Run a trace on your session.
2)Look at the server to see if an error trace file is getting generated on the database. There may be information in the error log to point toward the underlying problem.

• desc table_name gets ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

My installation running on Windows 2000 Oracle9i. When issue desc table_name i get ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel. I have set processes = 300 in parameter file.

The ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel error is a generic error. The ORA-03113 error when connecting suggests that the connection was established, but lost later, like a timeout.
There are many possible causes for the ORA-03113 error. See MetaLink Note:17613.1 "ORA-03113":
For example, ORA-3113 could be signaled for any of these scenarios:
- Server machine crashed
- Your server process was killed at O/S level
- Network problems
- Oracle internal errors / aborts on the server
- Client incorrectly handling multiple connections
- etc.. etc.. etc.. - a lot of possible causes !!
It goes on to note that the ORA-03113 End-Of-File error often has additional messages:
It is common for this error to be accompanied by other errors such as:
- ORA-1041 internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist
- ORA-3114 not connected to ORACLE
- ORA-1012 not logged on
To find more details, check for a trace file in your USER_DUMP_DEST and BACKGROUND_DMP_DEST directory.
Hope this helps . . .

• Error ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel in droppping  a table

Good evening,
I am very new on Oracle and I have a problem with some tables. Without any reason, apparently, I can't drop some of my table. Oracle gives me this error:

What I should have to do?
It is very important.

Hi,
Looks like your archivelog space is exhausted. Increase the db_recovery_file_dest_size size and check.
SQL>  show parameter db_recovery

Hi,
We are trying to run an EAL (v11.1.1.4) extract from an HFM (v9.3.1.4) environment onto Oracle database. We are able to run the extract successfully for few hundred records, but when the records exceeds 10 million we get the error below

Hi,
I was able to fix this issue.
From the trace file identified the related objects and validated them.

• ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel ERROR

After applying Database patch 3095277 to my 9.2.0.1.0 installation
in order to update it to 9.2.0.4.0,I'm getting ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
ERRORS when attempting various tasks. This is a local installation running on a Windows XP Workstation.
I've even tried creating a new test database but the result is the same.
The reason for moving up to 9.2.0.4.0 is so I can start using Advanced Queuing, which I understand had problems in earlier releases.
However before the update I could at least create the JMS queue tables without ERROR whereas now I get the following errors when attempting to create a queue table in SQL Plus from within Enterprise Manager Console.
SQL*Plus: Release 9.2.0.4.0 - Production on Thu Sep 18 08:20:08 2003

I would be grateful of any pointers as to how to resolve this problem.
Regards
Gary.

Chris, Thanks for the suggestion,
I took a look in the trace log and found the following entries that point to a ORA-00600 as you mentioned earlier.
This is only a test database so there's no great loss if
I have to re create it, but in saying that I did create a new test02 from scratch and had the same problem.
Is it posible something went wrong when applying the 9.2.0.4.0 patch ?.
Regards
Gary.

Hello - if you are seeing any report problem or exceptions on UI, then (a) try without the filter. (b) Try another type of view and see if error reoccurs (c) see if your dataobject (the field on the filter) has any null or invalid data (or wrong type or format).
Also - for these type of errors - it is better to export your dataobject and report and send it to support. We have fixed these types of errors from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3- so I guess this is more with respect to your data or report design. • ERROR at line 1: ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

I have a DRDA gateway set up between my Oracle 10.2.0.4 instance (linux 64 bit), and a DB2 UDB instance (v 8.2 32 Bit). Within a SQLPlus session, I'm able to successfully interact with tables (select, update, delete) that do not have CLOB columns defined. However, whenever I try to access a table with a CLOB column (even doing a select on a single row), I get an end-of-file communication error and it kicks me out of my session. I can interact with the table as long as I don't include the CLOB/BLOB columns. Is there some additional configuration or memory settings I'm missing?

D 1200 = AL16UTF16
M 1208 = UTF8

Unfortunately TG4DRDA 10.2.0 does not support DB2 (C)LOB datatype. A crash is a rather unpleasant way to report this inability... but that could depend on the version of TG4DRDA you use (10.2.0.1.0). I guess when you upgrade TG4DRDA to 10.2.0.4.0 you will get a proper error message (ORA-28527 - datatype conversion error).
As workaround you could:
- create a view on the DB2 table and exclude the (C)LOB columns
- move/copy the (C)LOB data into a TG4DRDA supported datatype ((long) varchar for bit data)

> And when i try to full join my tables and replace LEFT JOIN with FULL OUTER
JOIN following errors accurs:
(ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel) and oracle gets disconnect.
This is not an error, but a symptom of an error. An ORA-03113 results when the Oracle Server Process that services your client, terminates abnormally. When that server process terminates, the connection (TCP socket) to your client is torn down - without your client knowing about it.
The ORA-03113 is generated by your client's Oracle driver when your client suddenly discovers that the connection to the Oracle Server Process is no longer there.
So why does the Server Process terminate abnormally? Usually due to an internal error (an ORA-600 and/or an ORA-7445).
These errors results in:
- error messages to be generated in the Oracle instance's alert log
- a trace file generated by the server process that includes stack and memory dumps
You need to determine what these errors are, and the use the ORA-600/ORA-7445 Troubleshooter (Metalink Note 153788.1) on Metalink to troubleshoot the error, determine whether it is a bug, if there is a patch or a workaround available, etc.

• ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel & ORA-00600: internal error

Hi All,
I am testing my database which is already on 11gr1 working fine for application but after migration from 11gR1 to 11gR2 i am getting the below error while running application on a view:-
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
Process ID: 3280
Session ID: 35 Serial number: 11301
Above Error gets resolved after changing the order of underline tables and recreate But their is another error i am getting with same test case means select from a view
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kkqtSetOp.1], [], [], [], [], [],[], [], [], [], [], []
This view is complex and nested. But working fine in 10g 11gR1. Please help...
Edited by: 832546 on Feb 8, 2011 1:48 AM

Hi,
Above errors ORA-00600: internal error is resolved after i submit SR. They suggest to change parameter “_optimizer_join_factorization” to false.
But i am still facing with another error with view on oracle 11gr2
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel...
Below is the work around i done for "ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel"
Join Condition for view is
t1.VERSION=t2.VERSION
and t1."PLAN"=t2.BASELINE_PLAN_ID
and t1.PLAN_VERSION=t2.BASELINE_PLAN_VERSION
If i run by just removing any one of above join condition is works fine but since i dont know business logic so i come up with solution below
1. create table t111 as select * from t1;
2. rename table t1 to abc
3. rename t111 to t1
Now it is starts working.
I don't know what had happen but i find workaround not solution.
If somebody suggest the solution and reason why this happening highly appreciated.
Please Help....

• Getting ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel error

Hi,
We are getting the following error while calling a Oracle stored Procedure from .NET interface.
Getting ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel Process ID: 28954 Session ID: 466 Serial number: 9280
Actually, The other procedures doesn't have this issue. We are witnessing this error only when we call a specific procedure which returns a data cursor. We have checked for any DBLINK involvement but couldn't find any. Please help us here to resolve this issue. Please let me know if you need any information further.

end-of-file on communication channel
Cause: The connection between Client and Server process was broken.
Action: There was a communication error that requires further investigation. First, check for network problems and review the SQL*Net setup. Also, look in the alert.log file for any errors. Finally, test to see whether the server process is dead and whether a trace file was generated at failure time.

• Encounter "ORA-03113 : end-of-file on communication channel error "

Hi experts :
I schedule a job of MS SSIS(SQL 2005) to do data transfer from Oracle to MS sql server every morning. Few days ago, SQL server report an error as bellow
錯誤: 2010-05-26 06:04:27.87
代碼: 0xC0202009
來源: Package 連接管理員 "pro.twacelifeapp"
描述: 發生 OLE DB 錯誤。錯誤碼: 0x80004005。
有 OLE DB 記錄可用。 來源: "OraOLEDB" Hresult: 0x80004005 描述: "ORA-03113 : end-of-file on communication channel error"。
錯誤結束
"ORA-03113 : end-of-file on communication channel error " happened.
many times It makes SSIS interupt. And the wierd thing is, as I restart SSIS again. Then the process done successfully.
I check Oracle alert.log at the event time, it report "inbound connection timed out (ORA-3136)".
sqlnet.log also list "TNS-12535: TNS:operation timed out".
from the day on, MS SQL server reported this error msg everyday.
I'm really confused and can't find the result of cause.
dose any helps ,thanks~
