ORA-13629 after EBS database start
we have EBS 12.1.2 on LINUX server. Database is 11.1.0.7. When I shutdown EBS database for backup and startup, I got ORA-13629.
I immediate shudown again and startup. Look like it is O.K.
Anyone know why?
Anything wrong?
Thanks.

Starts up but ORA-205 cannot mount database
I dont seem to understand. I run windows 98 and installed oracle 8i Personal Edition.
First,I cannot get scott and tiger to log me Senond, going in as Database Administrator to start database, it starts but does not mount - 'ORA-205, CANNOT MOUNT DATABASE,
Could a 64 meg ram machine not be enough as it recommends 96 meg.
or
Could it be because at a certain stage duirng installation, it detects there is an older database which it wants me to migrate, but which i bypassed as I prefer to start anew. I see it is not by force to migrate if you do not want to.
Could someone be of help please.
nullI think you could identify the database ALERT file to find what might cause the error.
The alert file is default located in:
$ORACLE_HOME/admin/bdump
Try to find it, and see what happened. -

Hallo,
I try to startup a workflow process from a database trigger :
the after startup database trigger. But when I do this, he
doesn't startup. When I add a commit-statement after the call
to startup the workflow, my database never gets open.
What do I have to do ? And what command is used ?
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I have a specific problem on one notebook. It's a windows 2000 SP4. The installation log does not contain an obvious error message. But after installation, the database homepage doesn't start.
When looking in the alert file I find those ORA 7445 and ORA 472 errors. When starting up the database using sqlplus and stepping through nomount , mount, open, it seems that the database is running for a short period and then again ends up with the above errors.
Any ideas?Hi
ORA 7445 indicates that oracle has detected a core dump when attempting a particular operation. To identify a bug you need to look at the first argument after the 7445 error as this identifies the module where the exception was raised. Use this together with the stack produced to identify a bug if possible. The ORA-600/ORA-7445 Troubleshooter will help identify bugs known to core dump in the identified module. https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:14:1905955764385093414::::p14_database_id,p14_docid,p14_show_header,p14_show_help,p14_black_frame,p14_font:NOT,153788.1,1,0,1,helvetica

Database Started In Restricted Mode...
Dear Exports,
We are using Oracle 10gR2 on Windows server 2008. My database size is approximately 2tb. Now we are going to setup Dataguard for our primary. We started the database with the changer parameters for dataguard and create spfile from pfile. And started the database with Spfile. But after some time i noticed that the database started automatically in Restricted mode. As in our database Previously dataguard was configured, due to the some problem that setup is not working and the logs are not applied in Standby server. I thought may be for this reason database going to restricted mode automatically so i set the log_archive_dest_state_2='DEFFER' and Now I scanned the whore alert.log file and found the same situation of restricted is happening from Jan 2010. Please Suggest some solution how i can over come the problem.
The alertlog when i started the database recently...

You have following choices to free up space from flash recovery area:
1. Consider changing RMAN RETENTION POLICY. If you are using Data Guard,
then consider changing RMAN ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY.
2. Back up files to tertiary device such as tape using RMAN
BACKUP RECOVERY AREA command.
3. Add disk space and increase db_recovery_file_dest_size parameter to
reflect the new space.
4. Delete unnecessary files using RMAN DELETE command. If an operating
system command was used to delete files, then use RMAN CROSSCHECK and
DELETE EXPIRED commands.

Fri Apr 12 19:12:51 2013

ORA-01102: cannot mount database in EXCLUSIVE mode
Hello,
I am working with an Oracle VM Template: Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 WebCenter (x86 32-bit). In this template exists an Oracle database (version: 10.2.0.3.0), I am trying to do something operation (ie create a new user, query a system template, etc) but I can't because I have ORA-01102 error.
I have DB and listener up :

I have export environment variables:
export ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/
export ORACLE_SID = orcl

Then I connect to DB:
sqlplus> connect / as sysdba

ORACLE instance startup

So, I have checked listener.ora and tnsnames.ora and they are OK, so I don't know why I can't access to the DB.
Any idea/suggestion is welcome!
Thank you in advance and regards,

After Flashback database can I use my backups?
I performed a flashback database and then opened the database with
alter database open resetlogs;
Now when I try the following command in rman I get this message:

All the backups are still there but it tells me a new incarnation of the database has been registered in the recovery catalog.
My question is: Do I need to do anything different from now on? Also can my existing backups still be used if needed?
thanks in advance,
RichardFor u question ist take a rman backup.

Oracle ORA-01102故障: cannot mount database in EXCLUSIVE mode

ORA-01102: cannot mount database in EXCLUSIVE mode
出现这个问题,可能是由于断电的问题,解决方法是
出现1102错误可能有以下几种可能:
一、在HA系统中,已经有其他节点启动了实例,将双机共享的资源(如磁盘阵列上的裸设备)占用了;
二、说明 oracle 被异常关闭时,有资源没有被释放,一般有以下几种可能,
1、 oracle 的共享内存段或信号量没有被释放;
2、 oracle 的后台进程(如SMON、PMON、DBWn等)没有被关闭;
查$ORACLE_HOME/dbs目录:
$ cd $ORACLE_HOME/dbs
$ ls sgadef*
sgadef* not found
$ ls lk*
lkORA92
果然,lk<sid>文件没有被删除。将它删除掉
$ rm lk*
再启动数据库,成功。
如果怀疑是共享内存没有被释放,可以用以下命令查看:
$ipcs -mop
IPC status from /dev/kmem as of Thu Jul 6 14:41:43 2006
T ID KEY MODE OWNER GROUP NATTCH CPID LPID
Shared Memory:
m 0 0×411c29d6 –rw-rw-rw- root root 0 899 899

m 851975 0×5fe48aa4 –rw-r—– oracle oinstall 66 2017 25076
然后它ID号清除共享内存段:
$ipcrm –m 851975
对于信号量,可以用以下命令查看:
$ ipcs -sop
IPC status from /dev/kmem as of Thu Jul 6 14:44:16 2006
T ID KEY MODE OWNER GROUP
Semaphores:
s 0 0×4f1c0139 –ra——- root root

s 21 0×00000001 –ra-ra-ra- root root
s 45078 0×67e72b58 –ra-r—– oracle oinstall
根据信号量ID,用以下命令清除信号量:
$ipcrm -s 45078
如果是 oracle 进程没有关闭,用以下命令查出存在的 oracle 进程:
$ ps -ef|grep ora
oracle 29976 1 0 Jun 22 ? 0:52 ora_dbw0_ora92
oracle 29978 1 0 Jun 22 ? 0:51 ora_dbw1_ora92
oracle 5128 1 0 Jul 5 ? 0:00 oracleora92 (LOCAL=NO)
然后用kill -9命令杀掉进程
$kill -9 <PID>
总结:
当发生1102错误时,可以按照以下流程检查、排错:
1.如果是HA系统,检查其他节点是否已经启动实例;
2.检查 oracle 进程是否存在,如果存在则杀掉进程;
3.检查信号量是否存在,如果存在,则清除信号量;
4.检查共享内存段是否存在,如果存在,则清除共享内存段;
5.检查锁内存文件lk<sid>和sgadef<sid>.dbf是否存在,如果存在,则删除No, its still not helping..even after trying to kill the semaphores:

Hi........I've a serious problem with the my database -->one day I was starting database (oracle I on win98) then the power goes down then when I tried to start it there after I received (ORA-322 cannot open database) error message then I read many forums here and on the web to recover the database but I was stuck with changing the current log (cause it may be corrupted) to a new one (cause I can't do so when the database isn't open) I need only to restore the database scheme and the procedure there and I've no idea about recovery management in oracle so please help....
Observe the control_files parameter in init.ora
example
control_files=('c:\oracle\oradata\orcl\control01.ctl',
'c:\oracle\oradata\orcl\control02.ctl',
'c:\oracle\oradata\orcl\control03.ctl')
If you have 2 or more files then you have multiplexed them.
For muliplexing....
After your database is up and running normally. Shutdown the database. copy one controlfile to another location. Say you copied control01.ctl to d:\oracle\oradata\orcl. after copy rename to control02.ctl. Include the complete path of newly created controlfile in control_files parameter of init.ora. Now oracle will write to both control01.ctl and control02.ctl files. Thus you have multiplexed them.

Help needed in 10gR2 to 11gR2 EBS Database Upgrade
Hi,
I am upgrading EBS Database from 10gR2 (10.2.0.3) to 11gR2 11.2.0.3. While going through Oracle Note Complete Checklist for Manual Upgrades to 11gR2 [ID 837570.1], under the point 3 of "Recommendations from Source database" it says:
"Disable the custom triggers that would fire before/after DDL and enable them after the upgrade is complete."
I want to know is it compulsory to disable the custom triggers? If yes then how can I get the list of those custom triggers and disable/enable them before and after the database upgrade?
Please let me know the commands. My operating system is Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.8.
Thanks,
AbdulHi Srini,
Thanks for the docs.
EBS version is R12 (12.0.6) and 10gR2 (10.2.0.3).
Currently I am only upgrading EBS Database from 10gR2 (10.2.0.3) to 11gR2 (11.2.0.3) and want to use it with my current R12 version.
Currently I am following these Oracle notes:
- Complete Checklist for Manual Upgrades to 11gR2 [ID 837570.1]
- Interoperability Notes EBS 12.0 and 12.1 with Database 11gR2 [ID 1058763.1]
I hope I am on the right track?
Regards,

DB nonresponsive with ORA-12514 after weeks of running fine
I have seen many prior users complain about getting ORA-12514 after a reboot after installation, and looking at the suggestions, I couldn't find anything addressed a situation where the whole system works for a long period of time and then stops working.
I have a working APEX installation that I can access over the web from remote clients
I have a working JDBC connection that I can use from several remote clients.
After several weeks/months of happily running, I no longer can access the apex website, and I can no longer access the db through the JDBC connection getting:
ORA-12514, TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect
descriptor
The Connection descriptor used by the client was:
//###.###.###.###:1521/XE
Going to look at Windows services, both OracleServiceXE and OracleXETNSListener are still running. To try and recover, I do the following:
* Stop the db and start the db. (Which simply stops OracleServiceXE, and then starts both it and the listener)
Doesn't fix it
* Thinking that the listener might be the problem, I then stop the db, and also manually stop the listener. I then start both of the services
Doesn't fix it
* I reboot the computer
Fixes it.
What is different about rebooting the computer that could possibly fix this? Also, someone had suggested in another thread to look at the listener log in db_1/network/admin/listener.log. I don't know what db_1 is, but I have a oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\NETWORK\ADMIN directory that does not have this log. If anyone has any insight into what this is, or what log I should look at to identify it, I would be greatly appreciative.
Thanks,
DanThanks!
Ah, the alert log, that is a useful find. For those who don't know, you can find where the alert log is stored by doing the following:
select value from v$parameter where name = 'background_dump_dest';
I looked at the alert log, and i think it indicates that the process is running out of memory. Since it can run for a very long time without this, I'm assuming it's some kind of memory leak. Especially since I think the less I develop pages with APEX, the longer the system goes between crashing (That is only anecdotal). I looked at the .trc files that it spit out as well, but they seem to have internal stack traces and dumps. Where do I go from here? Is this something I post to an Oracle bug list? Below is the relevant section of the alert log:
