Hi
It does sound like a pathing error. You need to check the path very carefully and a) make sure that the files it is looking for are contained in one of the folders in the path, and B-) that the correct versions are the ones it finds first.(Check the Java installation on your linux Machine)
Try adjusting your path to make the folder containing those files the first named folder in the path. This way you can be sure you are getting the right version.
Also, and I know this may sound silly, please make sure those files can actually be read.
and finally make sure that you unset LD_ASSUME_KERNEL.

    Hi All,
I have to do some customization in isupplier page. The page is working well in Oracle 11i instance. Now we are upgrading the Oracle 11i to R12. While compiling the project I got following error. Seems to be some class files are missing. But I don’t know how to fix it. Any help pls?

    Chandra,
May be you can ask Oracle to provide for the R12 patch for iSupplier Portal module. And then do the customizations/extensions therein.

Thanks to previous responder for tip regarding JDK/JRE anchor strings. I'm not sure if that is a problem. After letting the install process (java.exe) run for over an hour, I finally got past the InstantiateFile step. It looks like the process just takes a long time with no visible progress sometimes. After 5-6 hrs, it looked like the install succeeded (for the most part). There were still some errors in the error logs related to the Concurrent Manager (TNS-12541: TNS:no listener) I believe. If anyone has insight on what this error msg means, I would greatly appreciate a reply.
The other problem I am tackling right now is how to explicitly set the Forms processing mode to HTTP rather than the default socket mode. According to the 11i docs (and Forms Developer 6i docs), you should only have to set "connectMode=HTTP" in the config file, appsweb.cfg, to make this happen. However, when I try bringing up a client form, the form hangs. So, obviously, something is amiss. A related question is whether one can run Forms in only HTTP mode and not HTTPS (and thus avoid having to install SSL). I would greatly appreciate any insight from fellow users.

  • Oracle 11i E-Business Suite Installation on Windows fails

All you Oracle 11i gurus out there, please HELP as I am at my wit's end.
I am trying to install Oracle 11i E-Business Suite (downloaded from the edelivery Website) on Windows 2003 Server with dual PIII CPU, 1GB RAM, and 150GB+ disk space.
My Oracle 11i install on Windows has been failing during Step 1 of 5 following the process of unpacking the 114 zipfiles for the 9.2.0 database even though all the diagnostic steps passed.
It appears the install is failing on the following step:
    InstantiateFile -d d:\oracle\visdb\9.2.0\appsutil\driver\instconf.drv
I have MKS Toolkit installed on C:\MKS and VC++ installed on C:\MVS\VC98.
I have renamed make.exe to gnumake.exe in the C:\MKS\mksnt folder and copied the linker (link.exe) from C:\MVS\VC98\bin to the C:\Windows\System32 folder.
The InstantiateFile step is executing some Java classes. I have also installed the JRE on C:\jre1.5.0_06, although it's doubtful this will impact the install scripts since the scripts are all hardcoded with the included JRE 1.4.2.
Why do Oracle DBAs and users deal with this crap? A software install should not be this difficult.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Oracle 11i Install fails on InstantiateFile ... instconf.drv

I am trying to install Oracle 11i E-Business Suite on a Windows 2K server and keep running into a problem with the install hanging after all the DB files have been unzipped. The step in the adrun9i.cmd script that seems to be hanging is "InstantiateFile -d <path>\instconf.drv
I believe I have all the Oracle specific quirks covered - i.e., MKS Toolkit installed, gnumake in right place, VC++ anchor without spaces, linker (link.exe) copied to system32 folder, etc.
I would appreciate any insight that anyone can provide.
PS: I don't believe resource is the problem - W2K system with 1GB RAM and ~110GB storage for Oracle 11i alone.

You need MS Visual Studio/C++ 6.0 + SP3 or later. .NET version is not supported. See Metalink note 201392.
If you copy the installed Visual Studio installation then the environment variables will still point to the original directory. There is a VCVARS32.BAT file in VC98/Bin which sets the Visual C++ environment for command line usage. It is generated during the Visual Studio installation, so it also contains the original installation directory references.
I think the best practice is to completely remove the failed Oracle installation, reinstall Visual Studio 6.0 to C:\MSVC directory. It is tricky since Visual Studio 6.0 install asks for
"Choose a directory for common files:".
    Enter: C:\MSVC\COMMON
Then you enter in rapidwiz the "MSDEV" directory as: C:\MSVC\VC98.
Do not forget to check in the "Register environment variables" during VS6.0 install and also apply Visual Studio 6.0 SP3 or later.
I think there is a link.exe in the MKS toolkit as well. windows/system32 folder is before the MKS bin folder int the PATH environment so that is how it is "solved". I simply deleted link.exe from MKS bin directory. (I use Cygwin instead of MKS software).

  • Oracle 11i EBS migration from 32 bit architecture to 64 bit architecture

    Hii guys
    I'm in a fix
    Firstly clear me on this
1.We have Oracle 11i EBS Software running on 32 bit architecture. If we do customization in it will it be ported easily on a 64 bit architecture. If not what changes will be required to make this migration successfull.
Brief me from software as well as hard prespective
Kindly guide me to a good metalink resource on this or any website.I'm googling and eating metalink anyways;)).
2.Does Oracle 11i EBS software come seperately for the 32 bit and 64 bit architecture.
    Regards
    Fahad

The EBS Applications tier is 32 bit no matter what your OS is. On Solaris 64-bit, there is a special edelivery.oracle.com version of 11.5.10.2 that ships with a 64-bit RDBMS directly via rapidwiz.
         Oracle® Applications 11i Release 10.2 for Solaris Operating System (SPARC 32-bit) with Solaris Operating System (SPARC 64-bit) Oracle® Database      10.2.0.0.0      B23090-06      MAR-05-2007      71 /30G
Otherwise, you need to complete a word conversion of the database to 64-bit if you want to make use of 64-bit memory addressing.

  • Installing SCORM compliant content on Oracle 11i

Iam trying to install some SCORM courseware onto the Oracle 11i platform (Ive been told by my customer this is a new version that ties together iLearn and OLM) and iam having some difficulty getting the courseware to track.
Ive been told by some other users that previous version of OLM / iLearn have required adjustments and addional fields to be added to the IMSmanifest for the courseware to be able track properly. This is my first dealing with the an Oracle Learning Managemeny platform and I was wondering if anyone could point in the correct direction as I realy need to get this working? I would be happy to just be able to get some documentation of the oracle LMS so I could learn!
My customer says he has Oracle 11i with CU2 and OTAJ with CU1 , and he says this is quite a recent version? Does anyone have any experience with this?
    Thanks Mike

Hi, Ive established the SCORM adapter is installed and registered but iam still getting the same problems. Ive read in this forum :
Re: SCORM Course returning a strange error code in iLearning
That my courseware shouldnt be calling LMSFinish as the this is called for me by the player? Is this the case in this particular version of Oracle - and if so should be experiencing any side effects? In this case I get no tracking back to the LMS?
    Thanks Mike

    Hi,
Anybody knows how to re-install the Oracle 11i application from the unix system. Due to harddisk failure in the midst of installing Oracle 11i , we have to change the new harddisk and install it all over again. The funny thing is the system always start installing from the Disk 6 (where our previous installation stop) . Any idea what is happening. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, guys. I manage to re-install the application by run the runInstaller and then click on deinstall products and so on. Just wonder if it is nessacary to intall the Oracle 11i via rapidwiz or just run the runInstaller and choose the products that u want to install. Thanks.

If anyone can cite examples from projects they have done as to why they needed to customize forms or modules and how they did it..
Itll be a great help for me to understand and get some knowledge .

    Hi,
    Your questions :
*1. how can we benefit most from Contract Purchase Agreements . what is it used for?*
Ans : Contract Purchase Agreement (CPA) is basically an agreement of an organization with a Supplier. In CPA you can purchase from supplier but you don't mention what you are going to buy and when.
You create contract purchase agreements with your suppliers to agree on specific terms and conditions without indicating the goods and services that you will be purchasing. You can later issue standard purchase orders referencing your contracts, and you can encumber these purchase orders if you use encumbrance accounting.

  • Migrating menues from oracle 11i to R12

    Hi all,
I have to migrate Menus from Oracle 11i to R12, this can be done using FND_LOAD, but we have to migrate it using API's. Please suggest me the API name and approach. Currently I am investigating on fnd_menus_pkg.load_row and fnd_menu_entries_pkg.load_row . Please let mw know if these are the correct API's to migrate Menus. Any help is appreciated.

If the version of $FND_TOP/patch/115/import/afsload.lct and the table structure is identical on both instances, you may use FNDLOAD for your custom menus. However, I would not recommend using FNDLOAD or any API between different application releases.
