Oracle 8i error: ORA-29547:

Hi All,
When I tried to create a java source in Oracle 8i , it gave me an error like this.
ORA-29547: Java system class not available: oracle/aurora/rdbms/Compiler
Can anybody help me to sort out the problem.
Is there anything to be set for creating java source inside oracle database. I tried it from scott/tiger authentication.
Thanks in advance.
Rajesh

Hi Michel,
Thanks for the reply. I have one more doubt , Is it like the normal classpath setting that we do for java programs?
Since the java is a built in for Oracle 8i , do the oracle database set the classpath while it's being installed ?
Thanks
Rajesh

  • ERROR: ORACLE prepare error: ORA-00936: missing expression

    Hello,
    I am required to run "pass-through" Oracle SQL, to extract data from tables into SAS for processing and manipulation. My code (attached) reads and writes (executes) but with zero records to test first. I cannot get past the Prepare Error.
    The query is very much like other queries that seem to work, but I cannot get past this prepare error. I have no other access to individauls with adequate knowledge of PL SQL, and as a last stop hoped others in the forum could quickly spot the source of errror.
    Thanks very much in advance for any assistance.
    Jeff

    Hello Again ,
    Wish Oracle was a bit more informative. Am using a SAS Institute Product called Enterprise Guide. A "hot fix" was installed to address an issue that the product appears unable to save the latest version of edited code changes (hence " BETWEEN between" remaining even after a prior edit). In any case, with the change, am now receiving this error:
    " ERROR: ORACLE prepare error: ORA-00904: "PHRMCY_CLM_FACT"."LAST_SRVC_DT": invalid identifier". (Log file appears below)
    -The error remains, regardless of whether one uses "pass through" code to pass the date range to Oracle (which looks ok from the log output below I believe), or if I hard code the date range into the PL SQL query itself.
    -The Prepare error always appears at end of the inner SELECT.
    -The Prepare error remains, with or without the GROUP BY clause.
    Is there anything else here I am missing? Someone suggested a reserve word - but from other ANSI SQL versions, I do not see that is the case. I have consulted SAS Tech Support and SAS List Serve at University of GA. but nothing definitive from these sources. Have requested facility to be able to run Oracle directly, outside this SAS Institute product - in process.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone very much.
    Jeff

  • Adding a field to an sql statement in Oracle Reports error ORA-00933

    We have been requested to add a field that already exists in the table referred to by the sql statement in Oracle Reports Builder. The report was set up by a consultant about 3 yrs ago and we don't really have much skill in this area. What is happening when I try to modify the SQL statement, either adding a field or deleting a field to the SELECT statement, causes an error message preventing the statement from being saved. The only way out of the error message is to click Cancel. The error message is
    ORA-00933:SQL command not properly ended
    ORDER BY Program ==> NAME
    Even adding or deleting a space anywhere in the SQL statement causes the error (not adding any new fields). A coworker found that if we comment out the ORDER BY, the statement will accept the new field in the SELECT section, however then we lose the order by functionality. I would like to add one additional field before the FROM. Not sure if any additional data are needed. Thank you.

    Hi Denis,
    I tried your suggestion. The good thing is that adding the comma allowed me to be able to add a.campus to the select statement, unfortunately, another error message happened.
    ORA-00936: missing expression SELECT p . person_uid PIDM_KEY ,
    p . id_number , p . full_name_lfmi name , p . BIRTH_DATE , p . GENDER Sex ,
    Decode ( a . residency , 'D' , p . Primary_Ethnicity , 'F' ) Ethn , a . academic_period TERM ,
    CASE WHEN : P_group_by = 'PROGRAM THEN a I started over and tried only putting in the comma and get the same message even though I didn't add campus. After that, removed the comma which led to the ORA-00933 error message. So once again, I had to close the file without saving, in order for the report to run at all.

  • Oracle Streams - Error ORA-26786,ORA-26787

    Good day to all,
    I wish someone can help me in Oracle Streams, scoring to identify the following error in the Target with dba_apply_error:
    ORA-26786: A row with key ("RECKEY") = (1) exists But you have conflicting column (s) "ULT_NRO" in table PROD2.NUM_TRANSACCIONES
    ORA-01403: no data found
    This makes many of my tables in the destination are desynchronized. Moreover also I have cases where I get the ORA-26787 which has the following definition:
    ORA-26787: "The row with key% s does not exist in table% s"
    The BD I have in the Source is a 11gR2 EE and target is 11g R2 Edition One is only pasive and the source database is active.
    Hopefully I can help me,
    I hope your comments.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Well, I have to tell you I tried implmentar the Streams with parallelism 1, however I keep getting the same error.

    ORA-01403: no data found
    It's good to tell you also that once the error occurs, I proceed to stop the apply, then to erase the mistakes and finally start the application in the destination, and thus gradually disappear errors and re-based sincornizar destination data, however this is constant.
    Is due to some configuration I'm missing?
    Thanks for your opinions.
    Regards.

    You should try to post a small but complete example that allows to reproduce the issue with:
    1. your 4 digits Oracle version (client and server)
    2. the language you are using.

    Hi,
    You'll have to use the orapwd utility to do so. Check the doc(click) for full reference.

  • Oracle 8i Error "ORA-04030"

    Hi there!
    Can somebody help me on this issue???. I've been getting this error several times this week, but I can't find any solution. I've read many stuff about it, but all of them are about "OS issues".
    Does anybody know something different, or at least passed the same situation?.
    Alex

    Dear One
    You have not mentioned the os? Unix or Windows.
    If unix which flavour.
    If unix then you have to tune the kernel paramaters to accmodate the sGA.
    As i do not know which flavour you are using otherwise i would have told you the commands.
    Minimise the no of process parameters to less number than the current one. and test.
    Revert back if not working.

  • DUAL causes internal error ORA-00600

    Hi All,
    I am using oracle 10g database agains Forms6i, but in forms pl/sql when ever and where ever I use the DUAL in select statement
    i.e. SELECT sysdate INTO <variable> FROM DUAL;
    it always causes oracle internal error ORA-00600 ?
    However it the dual statement works fine in SQL Plus console.
    Any knows anything about this problem.
    Any help will be highly appriciated. Thanking you and Best Regards.

    Please go to the first reply above:
    Only the newest patch 17 runs against 10g databases without problems.
    Either upgrade to Forms 6.0.8 and apply patch 17, or else connect to an Oracle 8 or 9i database.

    The ORACLE datasource is JDBC using Oracle's JDBC driver ojdbc6.jar v11.2.0.1 (I also have tried ojdbc5.jar v11.2.0.1; ojdbc5.jar v11.2.0.4; and ojdbc6.jar v11.2.0.4 with the same error result.)
    Here is my code:
    <cfset file_mime = Lcase(Right(postedXMLRoot.objname.XmlText, 3))>
    <cfif file_mime EQ 'jpg'><cfset file_mime = 'jpeg'></cfif>
    <cfset file_mime = 'data:image/' & file_mime & ';base64,'>
    <cfset image64 = ImageReadBase64("#file_mime##postedXMLRoot.objbase64.XmlText#")>
    <cfset ramfile = "ram://" & postedXMLRoot.objname.XmlText>
    <cfimage action="write" source="#image64#" destination="#ramfile#" overwrite="true">
    <cffile action="readbinary" file="#ramfile#" variable="image_bin">
    <cffile action="delete" file="#ramfile#">
    <cfquery name="InsertImage" datasource="#datasource#">
    INSERT INTO test_images
    image_blob
    SELECT
    <cfqueryparam value="#image_bin#" cfsqltype="CF_SQL_BLOB">
    FROM          dual
    </cfquery>

    Can't you use "alter index <shema.spatial_index_name> rebuild ONLINE" ? Thanks. I could switch to "rebuild ONLINE" and see if that helps. Are there any potential adverse effects going forward, e.g. significantly longer rebuild than not using the ONLINE keyword, etc? Also wondering if spatial index operations (index type = DOMAIN) obey all the typical things you'd expect with "regular" indexes, e.g. B-TREE, etc.

  • Error Ora-3134, connection to Oracle 9.2.0.6

    Hi,
    I want to create connection from Windows 2008 server 64 bit to Oracle database version 9.2.0.6.
    I have installed "Oracle 11g Release 2 ODAC 11.2.0.1.2 with Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio" where in installation instruction I have found following requirement:
    "Access to an Oracle Database Server (Oracle 9i Release 2 or later)".
    After that I create simple .net application using Oracle.DataAccess.dll version 2.112.1.2. But while connecting I have error Ora-3134 Connections to this server version are no longer supported.. Do you know why I have this error?
    Thanks for any help
    Mark

    Hi,
    You should not get that error with 11.2 client and ODP and a 9.2.0.6.0 database as they are supported. The 9.2 end must be 9.2.0.4.0 or higher which you seem to have.
    Do you get the same error running SQL PLUS from the same 11.2.0.1.2 home and connecting to the same database?
    Are you verified by some other means like client side SQL NET tracing that you are indeed connection to the a 9.2.0.6.0 DB and not some lesser version?

  • Using Oracle OLE DB provider (with ADO) generates error: ORA-01843 while using date

    Were using OLE DB provider in order to connect to our Oracle 9i database. When executing the following query in a SQL Plus window I will get the correct results:
    SELECT gum_seu_syo_id, seu_userid, seu_first_name, seu_last_name
    From group_user_mapping, security_users
    Where gum_seu_syo_id = seu_syo_id
    and gum_term_date > '8/19/2002'
    and gum_seg_syo_id = 11
    However if will execute the same query from the our application (VB using ADO) I will get the following error:
    ORA-01843: Not a valid month
    Checking with our Oracle DBA we made sure my registry is correct and includes the correct format under HEKY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\ORACLE_HOME,
    where the key is NLS_DATE_FORMAT (of type REG_EXPAND_SZ) with the value:
    MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI:SS AM
    I also run the following query in a SQL Plus window:
    select sysdate from dual;
    and got the following result:
    08/19/2002 10:27:20 AM
    which shows that the data format is correct.
    Trying to switch between the month and day in the query (put '19/8/2002') worked from the application but generated ORA-01843: Not a valid month in the SQL Plus window.
    Any ideas?

    try using
    to_char function
    for eg.
    select * from emp where to_char(hiredate,'dd/mm/yy') > '20/3/83'.

  • Error: ORA-03113 while executing complex java code from Oracle PL/SQL

    Hi,
    I am trying to execute a complex java code from Oracle PL/SQL. The classes were resolved successfully. But in the middle of execution, I am getting the following error:
    ERROR:
    ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE
    begin
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
    Process ID: 13685
    Session ID: 21 Serial number: 20
    Is there a way to debug the Java classes loaded into oracle? Or is there any utility to find out why the connection was lost?
    Regards,
    Saravana

    Hi Saravana:
    You could use simply System.out.println(..) at your Java code and see the output at the .trc files generated for your Oracle session.
    Or better than this adding Java Util Logging messages at your code, to see how to use JUL API at the OJVM please see this blog post [Using JUL API inside the OJVM|http://marceloochoa.blogspot.com/2007/11/getting-logging-entering-exiting-and.html].
    Best regards, Marcelo.
    PD: ora-0600 generally are associated with RDBMS bugs, but these bugs can be bypassed by replacing the code which throws the exception by other with a workaround.
