We have oracle 9i release 2 databse installed and acced by clients using Forms 6i.
Due to some reasons we are shifting to Oracle 10g rel 1 and PHP as front end.
The new server machine has windows 2000 professional with service pack 4.
i installed orcl 10g rel1 on it. I configured the PHP and place the application pages on the folder and it is workign fine.
Now the problem is that when i try to access the application from my computer it shows me the error as
"Database connection error." This error is hardcodded by me , if there is any issue in connectivity , i have hardcoded that my user will see this error.
a few of the clients when they type the machine name on thier browsers see this error
" PHP Warning: Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library './extensions/php_oci8.dll' - Access is denied. in Unknown on line 0 PHP Warning: Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library './extensions/php_oracle.dll' - Access is denied. in Unknown on line 0 "
My database clients werent also connecting but the following action has caused the fault to be corrected.
wat i did was that i replace the
host=(endsys.eapa.com)
to host= (ip address).
But still i am unable to connect to the application via my webbrowser.
I have installed PHP correctly, IIS correctly,
may b there is anything to do with the permissions.
Kindly suggest something so that i may able to bring up the application
RegardsHi: Im running IIS on a Windows Server 2000, PHP Version 4.4.2 and I have installed on the same server my Oracle 9 DB.
I have edited php.ini like:
extension_dir = "C:\PHP4\extensions"
extension=php_oci8.dll
I have run dependency walker in order to ensure all dependencys are ok.
I have granted full access to Everybody to the PHP directory
But im having the following error:
PHP Warning: Unknown(): Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\PHP4\extensions\php_oci8.dll' - Access is denied. in Unknown on line 0
Does anybody know where i should start troubleshooting this?

Oracle Client Side connectivity issues from a Windows XP Machine
I am sure most of you guys may have addressed this issue of the time delay the client application takes to retrieve the data from the Oracle database. However, here's my problem.
We have installed a VB application running on Windows Xp along with an Oracle 8i client. Now when the application tries to connect to the database at times the data fetching speed is quick and at times its really slow... takes almost 15-20 minutes.. We're not sure if this is an application issue/oracle client configuration issue or a network issue..
We've wasted alot of time blaming the network/connectivity.. However, is there anything that we would need to check at the clients pc.. oracle config etc.etc.. ???
Please help..Might want to try out a couple of things:
When it's running slow:
1. ping the server to see the response time of the server.
2. check the CPU usage on the server. There could be a resource crunch taking place due to other large and/or multiple transactions going on.
3. kill the VB connection and run the SQL from the command prompt and see how long it takes. Sometimes executing an SQL from the application may take longer, while from the command prompt, it's quicker. In this case, application tuning is required.
4. check to see the CPU and memory usage on the client PC itself. If there are multiple applications in use chewing up these resources, it can and will slow things down on the client PC itself.
Oracle client does not require configuration as such. -
Oracle Product Workbench - connection issue with EBS 12.1.3
Hi,
we've upgraded EBS to 12.1.3 and our Product Workbench is no longer able to retrieve the organization info from the server. We're checking the Packet details in Network Statistics in that case an also when View Concurrent Requests is opened and the server sends back the login page. So apparently PWB cannot log in to the server and is requested to enter credentials.
Apache response is:
170.251.121.114 - - [18/Nov/2011:08:48:58 -0500] "GET /OA_HTML/AppsLogin?requestUrl=http%3A%2F%2Febsapp_lab.accenture.com%3A8000%2FOA_HTML%2FOA.jsp%3FpageHidden%3DY%26LanguageCode%3DUS%26page%3D%2Foracle%2Fapps%2Fdna%2Fintegration%2Fwebui%2FDnaIntegrationPG%26ServerDBC%3DPIMDB%26integration_xml%3D%3C%253Fxml%2520version%253D%221.0%22%2520encoding%253D'UTF-8'%253F%3E%26transactionid%3D1530222396%26oapc%3D2%26oas%3DMt4FQpG-HDucayzYKri9lA..&cancelUrl=http%3A%2F%2Febsapp_lab.accenture.com%3A8000%2FOA_HTML%2FAppsLogin&errText=You+have+insufficient+privileges+for+the+current+operation. HTTP/1.1" 302 1620 0 "-" "Oracle Product Data Editor"
To sum up: errText=You+have+insufficient+privileges+for+the+current+operation.
If we log in to the old EBS to 12.1.1 with the same browser and same settings, we don't have that issue.
Any idea of what that can be?
Thanks. Raúl.The issue was a "_" char in the hostname.This must be changed as is not IETF-compliant and therefore not a supported character and is known to cause problems. Refer RFC 952 (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc0952.txt) for more information. This is also documented in Microsoft article Q275033 "Cookies Are Not Saved If the Host Name Is Invalid", this feature was introduced from IE 5.01 SP1 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;275033

Oracle 11g Remote Connection issue
When I try to connect to Oracle database remotely using SQLPlus or SQLDeveloper I get the following error.
ORA-01017: INVALID USERNAME/PASSWORD; logon denied.
Server details:
Oracle 11g on Enterprise Linux 4
I can connect using SQLPlus on the server.
SHOW SQLCASE is MIXED
Client details:
Windows Server 2003 enterprise Edition
Oracle 11g Client.
From remote computer my TNSPING to that server works perfectly.
For the same connection string I can’t connect from client. I am sure I am not typing bad password.
Any thought on this will be helpful.
Thank you,
SmithDid the following steps and still not able to connect.
1. Cross checked that the REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE is set to EXCLUSIVE.
2. Created the PASSWORD file at the server using the tool ORAPWD
3. Restarted the server and started the Oracle listener and database.
4. Connected to the database using PLSQL in server to make sure it works fine there.
5. Checking at the client box to connect to the database. It fails and I am looking for help again at forum.
Now it is connecting using remote connection(sqlplus and sqlDeveloper) to the server. Interestingly the password are not the same when I connect remotely and from the server.
I am sure it is connecting to the same database both the occasion. I shut down the server and try to connect or v$version results indicates that I connecting to the same database.
Any jestification on this? I am getting lost here.
Thank you,
Smith

Oracle.DataAccess.DLL connection issues...
Greetings, all. This Oracle Novice is having some right fun trying to talk to ODP.NET. I am actually very successful at using the 9.2.0.1.0 drivers, so talking to the db is no problem. But I cannot seem to get ODP.NET to work.
I installed all of the available components from the latest ODP.NET download except the one for the Transaction Server. The code I am using is trying to talk to ODP.NET to facilitate a BLOB upload. Here is the line that .NET comes to s screeching halt on:
<%@ Register TagPrefix="oda" Namespace="Oracle.DataAccess" Assembly="Oracle.DataAccess, Version=9.2.0.11, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89b483f429c47342" %>
And here is the error I receive:
Assembly Load Trace: The following information can be helpful to determine why the assembly 'Oracle.DataAccess' could not be loaded.

I am totally lost as to what all this means. Can someone offer some guidance to this wayward newbie? Thanks!
OH! I should mention that I now have a copy of Oracle.DataAccess.DLL in each of the directories mentioned above.
SteveHello,
What was the resolution to this? I am facing the same issue and am completely lost.
One additional info in my case....Please bear with me..I am novice .NET developer. my aspx pages seem to work fine with Oracle client 9.2 but not on machine with Oracle 10g. I get the same error listed above.
I noticed Oracle.DataAccess.dll had different dates. The one under ORACLE_HOME was newer compared to the ASP.NET/bin dir.
Any help would be appreciated.

Attunity CDC for Oracle Service - Oracle 12c Support
For the Attunity CDC for Oracle service that is bundled with SQL Server 2012 SP1, is there support for Oracle 12c? Or, will there be updates in the near future to support Oracle 12c? If not, are there other solutions for incremental changes between
Oracle 12c and SQL Server?Attunity is not bundled with SQL it is a separate item you need to download and pay for (unless you are on the Enterprise edition of SQL Server).
Regarding the rest of the info: http://www.attunity.com/products/attunity-connect/ssis-connectors-for-oracle-and-teradata says Oracle 6 or HIGHER, so yes, for the updates: Attunity now supports SQL Server 2014.
I am not aware of any other solutions from the Microsoft solution stuck side of the view.

Oracle RDB driver Version 3.01.00.01 Connectivity Issue
I have a SQL Server 2000 extended stored procedure connecting to an Oracle RDB data server via an ODBC connection (using Oracle RDB driver Version 3.01.00.01). The SQL Server 2000 runs on a Windows 2000 Server.
This extended stored procedure opens up multiple database connections and maintains them for processing. Usually, everything runs fine.
However, every so often, we have connectivity issues. What happens is as follows:
When we bring a station down and then try to reconnnect, our connection is denied, and we get the error: "recv() unexpected close Ret 0 Err#0 UNKNOWN Unknown WINSOCK Error 0". (This error is logged by the .dll running in the SQL Server processing space.) From the first time we receive a connectivity error like this until the Oracle RDB box is rebooted, we cannot establish another new ODBC connection to that Oracle RDB box --- whether we are trying to establish it programmatically or just via a "test connection" in the ODBC dialogue on the SQL Server box.
We can, however, establish an ODBC connection to another, identically configured, Oracle RDB box from the SQL Server box (without restarting the SQL Server box).
Has anyone had experience with instable connections from Windows system using the Oracle RDB driver to connect to the Oracle RDB? If not, can anyone point me in a direction that would help me research this? I am more familiar with SQL Server than Oracle, and the Oracle DBA on the other end isn't very accessible.
I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give me.
Thanks!I got same error.. Are you already solve that problem? how? please help me. Thanks

JCA Binding Component connection issue in the Oracle Order Demo Application
Hi,
I setup the Oracle Fusion Middleware. I also deployed the Oracle Fusion Order Demo Application in the soa_server. I placed the order in the store front web.I initiated the webservice (OrderBookingService) and found the below error in the soa_server_diagnostic log file.
=====================================================================================================================================
Caused by: BINDING.JCA-12563
Exception occured when binding was invoked.
Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'Write' failed due to: JCA Binding Component connection issue.
JCA Binding Component is unable to create an outbound JCA (CCI) connection.
OrderBookingComposite:USPSShipment [ Write_ptt::Write(body) ] : The JCA Binding Component was unable to establish an outbound JCA CCI connection due to the following issue: BINDING.JCA-12510
JCA Resource Adapter location error.
Unable to locate the JCA Resource Adapter via .jca binding file element <connection-factory/>
The JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='eis/file/FODFileAdapter'.
The reason for this is most likely that either
1) the Resource Adapters RAR file has not been deployed successfully to the WebLogic Application server or
2) the '<jndi-name>' element in weblogic-ra.xml has not been set to eis/file/FODFileAdapter. In the last case you will have to add a new WebLogic JCA connection factory (deploy a RAR).
Please correct this and then restart the Application Server
The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception.
=====================================================================================================================================Thanks Guys.
I resolved the issue.
The issue is that FileAdapter for FulFillment mediator is missing.
Solution 1:
File adapter connection factory needs to be created via the weblogic console
The details below:
JNDI Name: eis/file/FODFileAdapter
controlDir java.lang.String /tmp/control
inboundDataSource java.lang.String jdbc/SOADataSource
outboundDataSource java.lang.String jdbc/SOADataSource
outboundDataSourceLocal java.lang.String jdbc/SOALocalTxDataSource
outboundLockTypeForWritejava.lang.String oracle
Solution 2:
seedFodFileAdapterResources target in $FOD_HOME/bin/common-sca-tools.xml needs to be executed to create the file adaptor.
Thanks.

Connectivity issues from Oracle to Sybase
Friends.
I have connectivity issue from Oracle 9.2.0.1 to Sybase 12.5 ASE .I am connecting through the database link in oracle to access the tables.
The error message i am getting :
select count(*) from TEST_TABLE@IND_TEST;
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:

ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from IND_TEST
Please guide me how to solve this error message. is it version incompatible now?
Thanks
RockyHi,
You are now making the connection to the Sybase database but there is a problem with the user and password used in the database link.
Sybase is case sensitive for names so you need to surround the user/password in double quotes to make sure they are passed to Sybase in the correct case -
create database link ind_test connect to "sybuser" identified by "sybpass" using 'tnsnames_ora_entry' ;
where sybuser is the userid as created in Sybase with the password sybpass.
If they were setup in Sybase in mixed case then it would be -
create database link ind_test connect to "Sybuser" identified by "Sybpass" using 'tnsnames_ora_entry' ;

Hi,
We have installed Oracle 11g in our system. We were able to connect to the database instance, sql plus and all. Suddenly yesterday onwards we were not able to connect to the instance. It is throwing error such as
"An error was encountered performing the requested operation:
The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
Vendor code 20"
I have found many solutions for the same in the net such as
1) Run the listener service again (Already it is running in windows services. Even if I restarted it, no use)
2)Adding the user_dedicated_server=ON in sqlnet.ora for the server which is mentioned as SERVER = DEDICATED in tnsnames.ora file
3)Not able to open sql plus or start the listener from command prompt. (its throwing error Message 1070 not found; No message file for product=NETWORK, facility=TNSTNS-12557: Message 12557 not found; No message file for product=NETWORK, facility=TNS
TNS-12560: Message 12560 not found; No message file for product=NETWORK, facility=TNS
TNS-00527: Message 527 not found; No message file for product=NETWORK, facility=TNS)
4)In oracle enterprise manager, its showing the error for the agent connection such as
Status Failed
Details ORA-12541: TNS:no listener (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach)
Please let us know what to do???
Thanks In Advance....Is this behavior specific to using Oracle Providers for ASP.NET? Are you able to connect via sqlplus from the same client machine? If this is a basic client connectivity issue unrelated to the ASPNET providers, you'll probably want to post in a different forum. What behavior do you get if you try to connect from SQLPlus?

Using Oracle ODBC Gateway connecting to a remote Oracle database
Oracle 11gR2
RHEL 6.4
Has anyone use the Oracle ODBC Gateway to connect to another Oracle database? Any issues with that configuration? Where do I get the ODBC drivers for Linux?
(I know, "why not use a dblink?" -- well that would be against company security policies)Hi,
From the Oracle point of view we support using DG4ODBC for Oracle to Oracle connections. However, we have not actually tested it as DG4ODBC is primarily designed for access to non-Oracle databases.
How DG4ODBC will work between Oracle databases depends on the ODBC driver and what that supports. You will need an ODBC Oracle driver which you can get from various suppliers including Oracle but also vendors such as DataDirect, Easysoft etc. You could try a Google search.
You say you do not want to use database links but that is how DG4ODBC is used, You cannot do -
sqlplus user/password@dg4odbc_oracle
Once Dg4ODBC is setup and configured as in this note - if you are using Linux 64-bit -
How to Configure DG4ODBC on 64bit Unix OS (Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX Itanium) to Connect to Non-Oracle Databases Post Install (Doc ID 561033.1)
then in the Oracle database you create a database link and select from tables in the other Oracle database -
select * from table@dg4odbc_db_link ;
