Oracle HTML DB Studio Updated

All,
We've updated the HTML DB Studio with a new look, and also added a couple 1.6-specific applications.
http://htmldb.oracle.com/studio
You'll notice that all content is flagged by version - either 1.5.x or 1.6. Keep in mind that 1.5.x applications should import into 1.6 environments, but not the other way around.
We've also added a Search feature, which searches all content (applications, themes, utilities and tips & tricks) in the Studio.
Look for a few more 1.6 applications over the next couple of days from the HTML DB team.

Installation problem oracle 11g R2 on oracle enterprise linux 5 update 5

hello support,
i've installation problems with oracle 11g R2 on oracle enterprise linux 5 update 5. In the section "ORACLE Net-Konfigurationsassisten" the failure "[INS-20802] Oracle NET-Konfigurationsassistent not success". What's wrong? I've followed the instructions on http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/smiley-11gr1-install.html
I've heard the problem can occur with problems in /etc/hosts? My /etc/hosts is configured:

# that require network functionality will fail.

is this ok? what can I do to bring the database-installation to success?

Askus (asktom) application for html db studio

Hello,
according to Tom Kyte you (the oracle html db team) wrote the basic "AskUs" Application which is used by asktom.oracle.com.
Have you ever thought of providing the ask tom application/functionality as a sample application on html db studio?
I would appreciate this as i'm searching for an easy to manage framework for publishing answers to questions, providing technical news information and rss-integration. This would be a good point to start.

Submissions to HTML DB Studio

Are submissions to HTML DB studio reviewed regularly? If a submission is not accepted, does the contributor get a polite response stating the reason?
I submitted a modified version of the Command Line export utility to the Studio many weeks back. Sent many followup emails to [email protected], the last one was strongly worded also.
Alas, still no response. I have to say, this is not very encouraging.
Over on that other thread, people want to increase the scope/role of the HTML DB Studio, make it a more vibrant, community-maintained area and all. And here, I take the time and effort to make a contribution, the least I would expect is to get a response!

I have a requirement from our end users that all of them requires a shortcut button in toolbar for submitting a request instead of going the normal way in order to submit a single request.

Visual Studio Update 2 hangs for 13 minutes on "Creating a system restore point..."

It appears that Visual Studio 2012 Update 2 hangs for a long period of time before it tries to create a system restore point. Should I create a Microsoft Connect issue for this?
Here is what I did:
I created a new Windows 8 x86 Virtual Machine using VirtualBox. I installed Visual Studio 2012 and Update 1 because Update 2 was not yet out. I came back 1 week later and tried to install Visual Studio Update 2.
When I ran the installer on the Virtual machine, it hung for seemingly 10 minutes at "Creating a system restore point..." I powered off the virtual machine and disabled system restore. I then ran with the /layout option on the host machine
so I could pre-download the files. Then I tried again.
Again, it hung. This time I let it go. It hung for exactly 13 minutes before it gave up and continued on to the install. The log file says this:

[01F4:0748][2013-04-18T12:52:34]: Could not create system restore point, error: 0x80070422. Continuing...
NOTE: Although it says "Creating a system restore point" at 12:52, it actually displayed the message on the screen at 12:39. That indicates that it was really doing something else during those 13 minutes, not creating the restore point.
That is corroborated by the fact that it took a long time regardless of system restore being on or off.
If no one has any information or explanation, I will create an issue on Microsoft Connect.

I have the same issue. Visual Studio 2013 Professional update 2 was not installed from Web installer. Rather I downloaded a trial version and now want to uninstall it. However, I let the uninstaller try to create a Restore Point all night while I slept.
Next day, not done. So I clicked cancel, and it then commenced to create a restore point for the cancel. I did let the cancel run for awhile but I rebooted.
I then researched something on how to disable the restore point security on my drive, but that did not deter Visual Studio from trying to protect me and it TRIES to create a restore point before uninstalling. Just hangs forever. I don't need a restore point
for an eval copy of VS, thank you very much. Perhaps a simple dialog ("Do you want to create a restore point?") would be helpful?
Update: turning off Windows Defender fixed the problem.

There will always be another error which tells you what the actual problem on the database is. Use the Display message key, or message out DBMS_ERROR_TEXT

I am trying to re-utilise some code from iWorkplace - the sample
OAS application suite that comes with IDP.
My code imports the following classes ..
oracle.html.HtmlPage
oracle.html.HtmlBody
oracle.html.HtmlHead
oracle.html.HtmlStream
oracle.html.SimpleItem
When I try to compile my code, the imports fail - I presume
because I have an entry missing from my classpath ???
Can someone tell me the name of the jar file I need to include in
the classpath to gain access to these classes? Just in case I
don't already have it ... maybe you could tell me where I can
download it from as well?
