CIC win client to web client migration

Hi all,
I am new to CRM CIC.
We are on CRM 5.0 and we need to migrate the CIC win client to web client.
Can anyone please let me know how should we start. Are there any documents/sequence of steps for the migration?

Hello Nag,
Please start wth Mapping of functionality of business and how Win CIC is handling.
The Core Profile you want to look at is Web IC profile
The Business Transactions association to the Web IC profile.
Then also look at the Account identification in Master data of Web Client in SPRO for handling of BP
Look at the Navigation Bar profile associated with the Web IC profile.
For beginers it would be real nice to start with Default profiles and paly around and then you will come up with questions and start addressing them initially.
If you have SAP documentation for WebIC for Ver4.0 it will be a great help to you to understand how to configure also even if you have to do it in different version.
Please let me know if you still need more information

CIC win clent and web client are there upto 5.0.
Now WIn client is obsolete, only webclient is there.
Differences: Win client wil work with in the network only. Web client will work if you have a internet fecility.
The Interaction Center (IC) WinClient is a SAP GUI-based agent desktop interface for interaction center agents that provides a framework for processing IC WinClient functions. It can be used for any business transactions via phone, e-mail, chat, paging, Web call back, or voice-over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
Web client will be webased user can open any where and do the transactions.
Now in crm2007 there is no win client, only WEB CHANNEL is there.
This area of SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) enables you to turn the Internet into a profitable sales and interaction channel for both business partners and consumers by providing your customers with a personalized Web experience and convenient self-services. The CRM Web Channel applications cover Web-based sales and service transactions, targeted marketing, and analytics for system and customer behavior.
Through BSP application we will develop the web channel. In new version there are many customization in webchannel.

What can be resolve the web client in visual studio

I have create a simple demo app for windows phone 8.1 in visual studio 2013 but when i am using the web client then web client is not resolving

WebClient class is available for Silverlight (wp8/8.1) apps only. You might have created Windows Phone 8.1 Runtime app in which HttpClient class is there.

If it is 5.0
you will need to do/have the following
1.Java (TM) 2 platform ( minimum req is 1.4.2)
2.ccsui.jsp for simulating the calls in CIC
3.crm_cfs logon for fact sheet
4.crm_ic_ise for script editor.
there is a range of settings/profiles to be made for ICW cheers!

And Why and When We are using Web Client and Win Client and Which type of industries.
If any body have real time documents for using it pls forwad to me.

These are the Main Difference between Web Client And win Client:
1.When it comes to the technology, the WebClient is based on BSP (business server pages), which are generated by the SAP Web Application Server and creates HTML pages so that all the agent needs is a browser. In contrast, the WinClient is basd on ABAP Dynpro technology and requires a installation of a SAPGUI on the agent machine or a terminal server.
2.In the area of multi-channel-integration, WebClient currently uses the ICI/BCB interface whereas IC WinClient uses SAPphone. Customers that have a SAPphone based integration up and running will be able to reuse this integration with IC WebClient. ICI/BCB based integration will be made available for IC WinClient customers with the 2005 CRM release.
3.One important difference is the general approach towards UI design. In the WebClient you will find specialized, optimized user interfaces for a specfic subset of business processes. The WinClient will let you reuse any business process objects from CRM online.
4.When it comes to integrate into other applications or user interfaces the WebClient can use any people centric UI (PCC UI) view (the CRM browser based user interface) or use WebGUI (aka SAPGUI for HTML) for R/3 (or other 4.6C/D basis based onwards systems) to render HTML. WinClient can easily integrate into any other SAPGui based application.
5.ICWEB Client support the auto suggestion of solutions
6.ICWEB Client has the functionality to replace views, add more fields with in the views.
7.Like win Clients web client doesnt support the reminder scripts but it provides the similar functionality with the help of Alerts

Is there anyway migrate security defined on members via web client Planning

Hello there,
Can somebody help me , I have migrated dimensions and everything, except security from 9.2 to 11.1.1.3.
I see that the security defined on the members using the web client is not migrated which is causing the updateusers uitility to fail! I guess.
Can somebody suggest how I can migarte security without fail.

Couple questions:
1. Are you using the same Shared services or new shared services?
2. Have you provisioned all users to the new Planning application
Migrating security for Planning application has below steps: --
SHARED SERVICES STEPS: --
1. Make sure all users are migrated in shared services. [If you are using the same shared services, then this is not valid]
2. If you are migrating MSAD, make user that MSAD is correctly configured in new Shared services.
3. Since you are directly assigning access to users in Planning, all users need to be provisioned to minimum "Planner" access to the new planning application in Shared services. Do this for for native users as well as MSAD users.
PLANNING STEPS: --
4. Export planning security in old planning application v9 to a text file using ExportSecurity.cmd utility in $PLANNINGHOME\bin folder. A new fileSecFile.txt will be created in the same folder
ExportSecurity.cmd /A=AppName,/U=adminuser,/P=password,/TO_FILE=SecFile
5. Check the file for any access that needs to be revoked and manually edit the file.
6. Copy the security file to bin directory on new instance.
7. Goto new Planning application in V11 and migrate identities in web front end.
8. Import security in Hyperion Planning using ImportSecurity.cmd utility in $PLANNINGHOME\bin folder in new planning application.
ImportSecurity.cmd "AppName,adminuser,password,SL_COMMA,,SL_CLEARALL"
9. Generate security filters by going in Planning app and "Administration" -> "manage security filters"
10. Refresh database and security filters in v11

is there any relation between pcui and other web based applications like internet sales(b2b,b2c e-sales,e-service,e-marketing,,icss) and cic(for call center users) and sap portal(channel partners/b2b-one of the application).
is there any difference between launching crm_ic directly than from launching it from crm_ic. do i do the setting for cic webclient settings in spro or se80. i think bsp applications for cic webclient are done from se80 and the configuration for cic webclient.please tell me if it is not right.
where we will generate the url for this cic webclient and internet sales so that the users can use that url and login from anywehre in the world through internet browser.

Adding new search fields in identifying accont in CIC Web client

How do I do to add a new field (not in BOL) to search for in the identiyng account in CRM 4.0 Interaction Center Web client.
We have extended the BOL with the new field and add it to the BSP for BupaSearchB2B, But what and where do I add functionality to also actually use the field content when searching for business partners.

I am facing the same problem we are adding one field to identify account in CRM 4.0 IC WEBCLIENT , field name is CIF NUMBER (bu_sort1 or bpext) , I identified that it is not an standard BOL field , can you please update me how you added the new field to bol structure and what is the follow up process to provide complete functionality like the existing fields , Please extend your help regarding this field addition , it is very urgent

Spaces disappear from folder name when opened thrugh Web Client

Hi,
I am opening a pdf or word document through method EXECUTE of class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.
Now if there are more than one space in the path (ex. D:tes t.pdf ) then file gets opened sucessfully if I log in through WIN client in SAP.
But if i log in through SAP WEB client ,then only one space is retained in the URL and rest of the spaces are removed by method and I get a message "Path D:\tes t.pdf" not found.
Any suggestions welcome?

Delete localstore.rdf or rename the file to localstore.rdf.sav in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] to test if the file is corrupted.

(caution: do not delete the localstore.rdf file in the Firefox program installation folder)
Note:
Deleting the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] will reset the customizations of the toolbars to the defaults.
You can rename "localstore.rdf" to "localstore.rdf.sav" to test if that solves it.
Then you can restore the customization by copying "localstore.rdf.sav" to "localstore.rdf" if it didn't work.

Getting Error while running Web Client

Http 404 error while opening Siebel Public Sector Web Client

Hello Experts
I recently migrated to siebel web client and tools 8.2.2 from 8.2. However the issue that i have been facing now is that when i open my client i get HTTP 404 Not Found- The Web Page cannot be found.
Things that i have done to configure:
1. Enabled ActiveX settings-Settings as given in http://www.siebeloracle.com/accessing-oracle-siebel-8-1-using-windows-7-ie8-works-on-32-bit-os/
2. EnableFQDN: FALSE, FQDN: Commented.
3. My ODBC and public sector cfg have been configured as per need.
Strangely what i have encountered is that: sometimes of 1 out 30 trials, when my client opens up [P(opening client)->0 i.e. Probability is close to 0] the port number is 8081 whereas in other instances it is 8080 which i guess is by default.

I have tried reinstalling the client but still i face the same issue.
Kindly help me out with this issue.

Hi,
I see that its not a problem with the installation but some problem with the port 8080. I feel some other application is running by default on that port. So, everytime whenever I have to launch Siebel Web client, I have to launch 2 instances. (8080 and 8081). So, the instance which launches on port 8081 + works fine.
I see this process to be time consuming as I have to wait for 2 instances to open up. Hence, is there any way to define the default launch of the port when the client opens up?

Problem with interaction center web client e-mail

hi gurus, my problem is in interaction center webclient, when i click in the e-mail link,appears the email form but i cant send any email because all the fields in the screen (subject, body , from, date, to, etc) are not enable (i cant write anything because is not possible), so i dont know how to enable this fields in the interaction center web client.
In interaction center win client i dont have this problem.
I post this thread in crm forums but nobody knows how to do it, so i hope maybe here any one knows thanks

Call List in IC Web Client

Hello All,
I have successfully created a call list and am able to call people from the call list in IC Web Client.
When I click the "Full View" link on the top right corner of the screen, I see a table with the following fields: No, Name, Calling Times, Telephone, Attempts and Call Result.
After selecting the person to call, when I click on Dial button, it takes me to "Interaction Record". I fill the values there and save it successfully. Now when I come to the Call List again, the "Attempts" and "Call Result" columns show '0' and ' ' respectively.
When I have successfully called a person, why is the Attempts column not getting updated and why is the Call Result column empty. Also what values should have ideally gone to the Call Result column.
Your help would be greatly appreciated and rewarded.

To simulate a call:
1.) Configure Contact Center Simulator. (Refer C78 CRM Interaction Center Web Client )
2.) Launch the Contact Center Simulator page
3.) Click on the Information Link under the Telephony head, with information from here you will be able to launch an inbound call to a CIC Agent.
