Oracle Interconnect - Workflow Integration

Hello,
We are working on an integration project using interconnect 4.1 and workflow.
In interconnect we use content based routing, for workflow we defined routing rules.
When using the workflow integration we succeeded in receiving an event FROM
interconnect TO workflow (WF_IN agent), when we complete the workflow proces (simple approve)
we want to send an event back FROM workflow TO interconnect : but we don't know
how to do this!
- To which Agent do we have to send our event using the workflow builder (to agent, out agent?) ?
- How do we have to define that agent (adress, Queue Handler, Queue Name, direction)?
- Is there any documentation about this?
Greetings,
Jan Marckx

IS there any document containing an example of integration of Oracle Workflow with Oracle InterconnectOracle AQ ? If so, please send me the link from where I can download it.

    Greetings,
    Jan Marckx Hi,
I remember feeling your pain. Hope I'm not too late, or that you got it already.
You sound like you already have two routing rules for your event
    APP1 -> WORKFLOW, WORKFLOW -> APP2.
You need to create a process bundle in iStudio in Design mode with some Publish and Subscribe
    activities under it.
In the Deploy tab, right click on Workflow and Deploy Event definitions to Workflow Bus. System
    and create the .wft file.
Go into WF and check if the events show up in the Events page.
Go into WF Builder and open the .wft file.
Look for your Publish and Subscribe events in Processes and open the diagram.
Click on the processes in the diagram to see the Event Name, Agent, Action etc. They should all
be correctly generated) You need to look at the properties in the instance of the event (in the diagram) and not in the navigator.

  • Using workflow with Oracle InterConnect

Has anybody had any experience using Oracle WorkFlow with Oracle InterConnect? I have created events deployed by iStudio to Oracle Workflow but when I try to send the message, the activity/function that I create (both PL/SQL or External Java) using Oracle Workflow Builder never get executed. Am I missing something? Are there any procedure I need to run with iStudio and Oracle Workflow?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Edward

    Hi Edward,
When you say that the function never gets executed, do you mean that nothing in the workflow is running, or just this step?
Is the system status set correctly? Have the event definitions been deployed from iStudio to BES? Have you completed the post installation steps for InterConnect for workflow development?
Is it just the workflow component that you are having problems with? Since the workflow adapter is essentially a customized AQ adapter, this should run fine out of the box.

  • Oracle Interconnect in 11g?

    Hello guys,
I have few questions on Oracle Interconnect.
    1. Is Interconnect part of Oracle 11g SOA Suite?
    2. How Oracle Interconnect is different from Oracle BPEL/ESB?
    3. How easy (Design, development effort) is it to migrate from Oracle Interconnect to Oracle BPEL/ESB, if required?
Can someone please provide more information on Oracle Interconnect?
    Thanks in advance,
    Phani

Interconnect is really old stuff, used to be part of Oracle AS 9i .
I haven't done any migration, but for SOA 10g there was an Interconnect-adapter that you possibly could use if it's still available.
You will need to talk to someone at Oracle about this.
Otherwise you need to rewrite all integrations...

  • Oracle EBS Workflow Options

    Hi,
Anybody has ideas about Oracle EBS workflow strategy in the near future?
I would like to customize the workflow for GL (parallel approval) in Oracle EBS (11i/R12) and need suggestions on each option.
    Options:
    1. Custom Standard Oracle Workflow
This is a short term high effort customization solution.
    2. Utilize Oracle Approval Management (AME)
It is available for limited modules and functions. GL module is not part of the supported modules in the near future.
    3. BPEL for Oracle Apps
Not sure whether it is integrated with Oracle Apps. Need more information.
I saw a doc about migrating WF processes to Oracle BPEL but it does not have any detail info. (Doc ID: Note:394387.1)
    Regards,
    Jeremy

    Jeremy,
The suitable choice would be either oracle workflow or the BPEL but it still depends on a lot many other factors.
The standard oracle workflow is still going to be around for many more years and is the default choice as of now.
BPEL is more versatile, more detailed but there is no apps standard for it. So even if you develop now in BPEL, there are chances that it might not be compatible/feasible with the Fusion Apps standards which we don't know yet. And there are other factors like learning a new tech and the ones Gareth has mentioned.

  • Replacing Oracle Interconnect

    Hi All
First a bit of background ...
We have had a successful integration of our E-Business 11.5.10 system to an external system using Oracle Interconnect and a soap adaptor.
Oracle E-Business <-> Oracle Interconnect <-> Soap Adaptor <-> External System.
We have now upgraded to E-Business R12.1.3 and have decided to move away from Oracle Interconnect as it is no longer supported.
Looking through the available documentation it would appear that SOA/BPEL is the all singing, all dancing solution to system integrations, but rather than start at the top, if possible I would like to make the minimum amount of changes.
         So my questions are ......
         1) Is it possible just to replace Oracle Interconnect with Oracle Service Bus
Oracle E-Business <-> Oracle Service Bus <-> Soap Adaptor <-> External System.
         2) Do we need Oracle Service Bus or can we just use SOA Integration Options for Oracle E-Business Suite
SOA Integration Options for Oracle E-Business Suite <-> Soap Adaptor <-> External System.
We have some funding available for training but I want to make sure that which ever course we chose SOA/BPEL/Oracle Service Bus will contain the concepts we require to do the interface.
So any advice(links to documentation) would be gratefully received.
    Regards
    Dave

    hey,
u can try making your own .jar with your icons inside and put it on the3 forms60/java directory.
Include also the following line in cfg file:
    archive_jini = f90all_jinit.jar, [youriconsarchive].jar
and maybe you should change imagebase to 'codebase' instead of documentbase.
I have it like this and works ok. I can use every icon in my jar as logo or anything else..
    hope this helps

  • Debug Oracle InterConnect AQ Adapter

    Hi All,
I am using Oracle InterConnect 4.1 for integration of two applications.
Any one of you know how to check/debug that the DTD that was imported through
iStudio matches the AQ XML payload enqueued on the published queue.

    Sadeepa,
Not sure if I understand your question.
If you have a publishing system, and two or more subscribing systems to that mesage, then without using Content Based Routing, each of the target (subscribing) systems would get that message?
In your message you could have a tag called <TARGET_SYSTEM>, and you can dynamically put the target adapter name in that field when you create the message.
Then when you publish the message, use CBR routing rules to route the message to only one (or more than one if you like) target system.
Is the "multiconsumer queue" the OAI Hub queue, or a queue on a target system?

  • Oracle Interconnect/Oracle ESB

I would be grateful if someone could clarify whether Oracle ESB is a different product to Oracle Interconnect. I have seen Interconnect described as an ESB in a lot of places, but 'Oracle ESB' has its own section on the website, so is it a different product?
Whilst Oracle Interconnect can be downloaded from OTN, Oracle ESB apparently cannot, so is it a product at all?
    Thanks.

Yes Oracle ESB is different product, and it will be in AS 10.1.3 as integration data bus.
In differ to InterConnect it is based on open standarts, and suitable for web services integration. As Development tool - it will be JDeveloper plugin, like BPEL PM. It will have console and repository...
I think ESB will replace InterConnect in 10.1.3, but this is my own opinion...:-)
Let's wait and see is it so...?

  • Interconnect - workflow

I am setting up oracle interconnect adapters AQ to DB etc. The adapter connections
work fine. However when I add content based routing and use workflow in-between
    the connection does not work.
I have checked through the adapter and wf logs and there are no error messages. It appears the
workflow WF_IN queue is piling up, but it is not getting to the start proces in workflow.
Workflow is working with other applications etc.
I have looked through the forums for similar problems, and there is a listing suggesting
to check whether the events were exported to workflow correctly. I am not sure what to look
for here, or what to do if the events do not exist. The processes in workflow exist
and they have been linked with a notification, validated, and saved to the database.
    Any suggestions welcome.
    Thanks,
    Matt

Check the post-installation steps on Oracle workflow with InterConnect, if release 9.0.2 this should be on page c-33 in the Oracle 9i Application server installation guide (chapter c.3.4).
The issue is to create workflow listeners for wf_in and wf_error. I assume that you should create "listener" for posting to wf_out as well.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error when connecting an oracle DB with Integration gateway

I followed the steps from the blog How to connect an Oracle DB with Integration Gateway in SMP3 and the ojdbc was deployed successfully to SMP. Still, i'm getting "Driver class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver not found" error message when i try to test my connection. The first difference i saw when completing these steps was that I'm using SMP3 SP05, could this be the issue?

    Joao D Franco Net
    Could you share below information:
Can you cross check if deployed driver are OSGi enabled? Refer this.
Can you share screenshot of the destination settings and error ?
note: The blog you followed is referring to SP03 (1st GA of SMP3)..You should not have any problem in connecting to Oracle DB being on any SP.

  • ORA-06550: Error in Oracle InterConnect DB Adapter

    Hi,
We are facing a problem while inserting a row into
Oracle database using Oracle InterConnect DB Adapter.
All the required configuration information like AppViews,CommonViews,Events,Application etc have been
    created and configured in iStudio.
At runtime, OracleDB Adapter bridge (subscription) gets
the message from the interconnect hub and throws the
following error, while trying to insert the details into
    table.
Error: db_bridge_writer_1 could not write the message to

    -- fill code here
    dummy:= 0;
    'insert into employee values(EMPNO, FULLNAME,MANAGERNAME, DIVISIONNO)';
    END sub_NewEmployee_OAI_V1;
What could be the reason for this error? Are we missing
    something in the configuration?
Appreciate any pointers in solving this issue.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Murali.

    Murali,
Where have you installed the Package EMPLOYEE_OBJ in your database?
It sounds like you've missed this vital step.
In iStudio...File > Export PL/SQL. Expand your subscribing Application (e.g. APPS) ... APPS > Subscribed Events, and highlight "Subscribe(EMPLOYEE_OBJ.NEWEMPLOYEE)". Press the "Browse" button, and select where you want to save the file. (e.g. d:\iStudio_Packages\XXOAI). The "XXOAI" prefix is added to the start of the created file.
A *.sql file will be created in the directory you specified (e.g. d:\iStudio_Packages\XXOAI_APPS_EMPLOYEE_OBJ.sql).
(Note: Ignore the empty "XXOAI_APPS_EMPLOYEE_OBJTypes.sql" file as you haven't created any new ones (i.e. NUMBER and LONG are standard))
Login to SQL*Plus now, as the same user specified in your DB Adapter.ini file (Hint: In adapter.ini, look for the entry "db_bridge_schema1_writer_username=[Your DB User]", e.g."db_bridge_schema1_writer_username=APPS.)
Execute the iStudio generated XXOAI_APPS_EMPLOYEE_OBJ.sql file.
You will now have the Package EMPLOYEE_OBJ created, together with a procedure SUB_NEWEMPLOYEE_OAI_V1.
You will notice that the DB Adapter (unless you've stopped it and cleared down any persistence files), will automatically find this new Package and Procedure, and will have updated your 'Employee' table. :-)
    Hope this helps

  • Oracle InterConnect 10g

Can you install Oracle AS Interconnect 9.0.4 with a 9iAS Rel 2 (9.0.2) Infrastructure?
I noticed an issue listed in the 10g certification matrix : "383392 - Oracle AS InterConnect is only certified with 9.2.0.4 metadata repository"...does this refer to the product metadata in the infrastructure database or the metadata repository in the Hub database?

  • LR positioning / workflow integration schemes for presentation

Do a couple of talks/year at conferences re front-end and workflow.  On the video/broadcast side of things, the subject of LR rarely surfaces.  We integrate LR into the workflow as a front-end pre-process prior to absorption by asset management. Thinking about positioning LR for our next talk. Looking for positioning / workflow integration schemes folks have an interest in sharing.

I have used this workflow for developing a few shoots and it has been working a treat. Makes lightroom a pleasure to use for me now.
The automation results in a RAW and jpg in the same folder with same name. Good for stacking and keeping a clean reference system.
I discovered a bug that occurs with the samename RAW/jpg in the same folder. Posted a thread here:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bc3493d
Basically if you rename the jpg, the RAW gets renamed too. And you can move the jpg around in grid mode properly. If you don't need to rename or move the jpgs around then the workflow is fine.
So I've made a slight adjustment to the workflow which auto renames the developed jpg.
    The steps are now:
    1. Export from LR to watched folder d:\develops
    - in the export dialog, make sure you select 'open in photoshop' in the dropdown menu.
After this step you get a jpg (or whatever format you choose) in the sortbox with same name as the RAW, and the file open in PS.
    2. Edit and ctrl-S in Photoshop
    - photoshop will save the edited image to the develops folder (because this is where it opened the image from). LR then auto imports to the SORTBOX folder. Because there is already a jpg with the same name in the sortbox, LR will automantically rename the jpg with filename_2.
    3. Delete the original export jpg from the sortbox and move the edited filename_2.jpg to the destination RAW folder for stacking.
The filename will be different and not be affected by the bug described. Still very quick and easy, possibly better if you don't mind the changed filename.
