Oracle Listener Register Issue
Hi , I have got a problem with registering a test db CBA04 with listener LISTENER_TEST. Initially this DB was configured to the listener -LISTENER. Now, I want to separate this instance to LISTENER_TEST and hence configured this to port 1522 using netmgr.However when I startup the CBA04 instance, it is getting registered to LISTENER running in 1521 port, although this is not registered in listener.ora file of LISTENER.
Thanks in Advance, the complete spool is attached below.

J2Se receiver File adapter-HTTP 503 no listener registered for service
Hi,
We are using J2Se file adapter for one the interfaces and the logs of the J2se adapter engine has shown the following error-
Error: com.sap.aii.messaging.net.TransportException: HTTP 503 no listener registered for service /file/example_outbound
at com.sap.aii.messaging.net.HTTPRequest.run(ServerHttpImpl.java:416)
I checked with the J2SE File/FTP receiver adapter configuration given at help.sap and found the following the following info related to the error-
Specifications for addressing by the Integration Engine
○ XI.httpPort=<port_no>
<port_no>specifies the HTTP server port that receives the messages from the Integration Engine.
○ XI.httpService=<service>
<service> describes the service part of the address where the Integration Engine must send its messages.
These specifications are mandatory.
If, for example, you have specified XI.httpPort=1234 and XI.httpService=/file/Receiver, the end point address of the file/FTP adapter in the Integration Engine must be specified as follows:
http://<fileadapterhost>:1234/file/Receiver
The end point address must be extended as follows for the Integration Engine in Release 1.0:
http://<fileadapterhost>:1234/file/Receiver?action=execute&pipelineid=Receiver
If the Integration Engine message is sent to a non-specified adapter service, the system displays the following error message:
*No registered listener for <Service> found*
The system displays the same message if the adapter is initialized, but has not been started (status STOPPED or INITIALIZED).
Where I need to check this Integration engine address specifications. I have't found any of the above code in the adapter configuration which we are using presently.The interface is running successfully before but thrown this error now.
Please reply me if some one has faced similar issue and get it resolved.Hi
How was this issue resolved? I have the same problem.
I only have two receivers - the deafult j2se file receiver and my newly created one which used the default as a template. The ports and service's are different.
I've even tried deleting my custom receive adapter and using only the default one but i still get that error. -
How prevent REMOTE LISTENER register on SCAN LISTENER
Hi All,
Oracle Database 11.2.0.3
How prevent remote registration on SCAN Listener?
I need to know if there is a way of prevent one instance register on listener using remote_listener parameter without affect incoming connection of client.
These parameter below is not enough to meet my tests:
tcp.validnode_checking = YES
tcp.excluded_nodes = {list of IP addresses}
tcp.invited_nodes = {list of IP addresses}The tcp.excluded_nodes and tcp.invited_nodes parameters deny and enable specific client IP addresses from making connections to the Oracle listener.
Levi PereiraYes, I posted about that 4 days ago:
Re: Local Listener Validity in 11gR2
I have not yet had an opportunity test it, have you successfully tested the procedures? Basically it forces all registration event to occur over IPC/TCPS. I have seen the original test case for this, and while yes, it is true that you can connect if this is not in place, it is a very complex man-in-the-middle vulnerability requiring access to your [hopefully firewalled] database server. -
Trying to change Oracle listener port 1521 to nodefault port on Oracle RAC
Could somebody please help me in the process of changing teh Oracle listener port 1521 to a non-default port on an Oracle RAC environment. I am total of four instance.
Regards.Please read carefully about LOCAL_LISTENER parameter, you shouldn't put there just hostname....
Another way to do so - statically register database SID in listener. You should do it in listener.ora file, please read carefully documentation, otherwise you can use netca utility - it could make configuration for you properly. -

GC 10gR3 - Edit Oracle Listener Configuration - listener.ora is DOS-Format under Unix
Hello everyone,
during an demo of Grid Control 10gR3 for an customer I found the following issue:
When the Grid Control Server is running under Windows and the listener.ora file of an target is edited with GC the resulting file is in DOS-Format even if the target is a Unix system. This can cause the listener to fail during the restart.
To reproduce that problem you have to do the following steps:
1. You need GC under Windows and a Listener target under Unix/Linux
2. Go to the edit page of the listener-target and use the "Edit" Button
3. Go to the "Logging & Tracing" Tab and enable Logging
4. Change the Logfile to a new filename e.g. LISTENER2.log
5. Apply that change with the "OK" button
6. Let the Listener get restarted on the next screen
Result:
You receive an error message:
LSNRCTL> Starting /opt/oracle/ora10g/bin/tnslsnr: please wait...
TNSLSNR for Linux: Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
NL-00280: error creating log stream /opt/oracle/ora10g/network/log

.log
NL-00278: cannot open log file
SNL-00016: snlfohd: error opening file
Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory
Listener failed to start. See the error message(s) above...
Analysis:
The listener.ora file is in DOS-Format and the Listener seams to have some problems to create a new log-file in that case. If the listener.ora file is converted manually with the tool dos2unix to be in Unix-Format the Listener starts without problems.
I can reproduce that behavior on two grid control installations. Can someone also reproduce that problem? I have not found an Bug or Patch for that issue.
Best Regards
FrankHello,
well, the listener.ora file is correct - the only problem is that it is in DOS-Format. When I use the tool dos2unix to convert listener.ora to be in unix format there are no problems to restart the listener.

How can change Oracle Listener ownership account?
Hi all
For Oracle 10gR2
IS it possible to change oracle listener ownership account for current instance or only for fresh installation,
ThanksOk, STIG-ID is DO0121, vulnerability V0003843.
You would need to bring up netca and remove the listener. (create a backup of the listener first) Then with the new user, bring up netca and create a new listener, then copy in all the stuff you had in the previous listener that you need. The new user would need to have TNS_ADMIN set. Not supported by Oracle in RAC. Patching process will have issues. From my SR with Oracle: "I've decided to keep the listener running under 'oracle'. I was able to get the listener to run under another owner and was able to get the listeners to start on reboot but once I applied the July CPU, there were permission problems that had to be manaully resolved. (libclnt.so.10.1)." -
I am having a problem starting the Oracle Listener after a system crash on Windows NT.
However, if I first connect to the internet and then try to restart, everything works ok.
Why should I have to connect to the internet with my laptop in order to start the Oracle Listener?
The message I am getting is as follows.
C:\WINNT\Profiles\timh\Desktop>net start OracleStartORCL
The OracleStartORCL service is starting..........
The OracleStartORCL service was started successfully.
C:\WINNT\Profiles\timh\Desktop>net start OracleTNSListener80

Given below is the output of status. does anything look bad or am I doing something wrong?
for the service"abcd" it says has two instances, one of the status is unknown. does that matter is it always like that or I am asking very dumb questions?
Please excuse me if that is the case.

Why does a JButton automatically have a mouse listener registered with it?
If I instantiate a JButton, I find there's a mouse listener already registered (see code below). Does anyone know why?
Looking at the source code for JButton, I can't see how this is. If a create a dummy subclass of AbstractButton (of which JButton is a direct subclass) and instantiate that, it has no mouse listeners, and likewize with Button. So what is it about JButton?
The reason I ask is that I've seen in a book on swing that you must call enableEvents(AWTEvent.MOUSE_EVENT_MASK) on a JButton if you want processMouseEvent to get executed. But it actually gets executed even if enableEvents hasn't been called, and the only reason for this is surely that there is a mouse listener registered, which there is, but why?
Might the reason be that JButton extends Accessible?
Code:
JButton jb = new JButton("Dummy");
MouseListener[] mls = (MouseListener[])(jb.getListeners(MouseListener.class));
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(this, (new Integer(mls.length)).toString(), "Number of Mouse Listeners", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);Hello,
That listener is installed by the JButton's UI. You might want to have a look at the source code of BasicButtonUI and BasicButtonListener to understand what they are used for. For example, mousePressed in BasicButtonListener is used to call setArmed on the JButton.
My best advice is for you not to worry about this at all. -
No listener registered for service
Hi,
Messages are stuck up in sxmb_moni with status 'System error - Manual Restart Possible'. I restarted the messages twice, but no change.
I see following message when clicked on the red flag in sxmb_moni.
"HTTP response contains status code 503 with the
description no listener registered for service
/file/xxxx_xxxx_xxxxx"
I tried the note 803145 as suggested in one of threads but that too did not work.
Any other ideas ?
Thanks.I do not know as I have not created it. This was working fine since long. I am supposed to troubleshoot it now.
In addition, I can tell you that an external application gets this file from XI server using sftp.
Thanks.

Multiple Oracle Homes - Oracle Listener failes to start after installation
Just in case the listener fails to start after an oracle installation, please check the oracle ports in the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora, both of which are present in the following directory:
...\oracle\<SID>\<Ver>\NETWORK\ADMIN
All installations should have separate listener ports eg. If the first installation has port 1527, the next one should be 1528 and so on..
If they do not, manually change the ports and start the listeners.
Also check SAP Note 98252. Although I didn't find it necessary (I think it applies only if you have a single listener for all oracle homes), it did give me an idea that there some config problem in the .ora files.
Also see [this thread|Oracle Listener error in Import ABAP phase?; for related detailshi

with this can i do anything
when expand the schemas ,i can see the XDB,SCOTT and SYS . how can i login to this .
if i want to login to the scott
what would be the username,password,and hoststring. since i haven't set any password and username ,there would be some default username ,password, and hoststring.

Oracle 11g - Date Issue?
Oracle 11g - Date Issue?
=====================
I hope this is the right forum for this issue, if not let me, where to go.
We are using Oracle 11g (11.2.0.1.0) on (Platform : solaris[tm] oe (64-bit)), Sql Developer 3.0.04.
Our NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'DD-MON-RR'
Using 'RR' in the format forces two-digit years less than or equal to 49 to be interpreted as years in the 21st century (2000–2049), and years 50 and over, as years in the 20th century (1950–1999). Setting the RR format as the default for all two-digit year entries allows you to become year-2000 compliant. For example:
We have a date '01-JUN-31' in our source system. It treat this date as 01-JUN-2031' instead of '01-JUN-1931'. One century forward.
Do we able to resolve using NLS_DATE_FORMAT change?
How do we resolve this issue?
Thanks in helping.qwe16235 wrote:
Our source is Oracle data base, where S_date is defined as DATE. Why did you say STRING , when it defined as DATE data type?I doubt you source is an Oracle database. You may have it stored in an Oracle database, but it cam form somewhere else, and was very likely inserted into the table as a string, wherever it came from. Given a string that resembles a date, Oracle will try to convert it to a date using the nls_date_format parameter for the session (which can either be set in the session or inherited form the database). Perhaps this will help explain:
SQL> create table t (conv_type varchar2(10), dt date);
Table created.
SQL> alter session set nls_date_format = 'dd-mon-rr';
Session altered.
SQL> insert into t values ('Implicit', '01-jun-31');
1 row created.
SQL> insert into t values ('Explicit', to_date('01-jun-1931', 'dd-mon-yyyy'));
1 row created.
SQL> commit;
Commit complete.
SQL> select conv_type, to_char(dt, 'dd-mon-yyyy') dt
2 from t;
CONV_TYPE DT
Implicit 01-jun-2031
Explicit 01-jun-1931So, unless you are really inserting dates, not strings that look like dates, you are going to have problems.

Pl-Sql Oracle Function Concurrency Issue
Hi All,
Issue - pl-sql Oracle Function performance issue, when muliple users are accessing the function
Detail -
Oracle 11g / Linux Server
I have developed a pl-sql oracle function to retrieve information from 3 tables, output as a particluar type array.
Single request is getting processed within 2.2 seconds, but when multiple request are sent concurrently <tested with 50>, time taken for each output is different.
BreakUp of Response times:-
8 messages took - 2.2 sec
+8 messages took - 4.4 sec
++8 messages took - 6.6 sec....etc
I'm looking for any DB tunning parameter, which will help to resolve this issue.
My only aim is to expose developed function to multiple users, who all can access it concurrently, but response should limit within 2.2 seconds.
Any thoughts + guidance is higly appreciated.
Thanks

2 systems with 2 Oracle Listener on Windows
Hi Gurus,
I am installing a 2nd system on a Windows server and want to use a separate Listener (with an own port).
sapinst is not able to start the 2nd listener and it is also not possible to start it manually.
The problem is that the new listener OracleQAS102TNSListener seems to point to the 1st listener parameter file.
System parameter file is K:\oracle\DEV\102\network\admin\listener.ora
Log messages written to K:\oracle\DEV\102\network\log\listener.log
I already deleted the service and re-created it, but it is still the same situation. To re-cretae the service I just call lsnrctl start from the correct Oracle home directory and if the service is not avaialable it is created.
Of course I could configure the 2nd listener within the 1st listener.ora - but I definitely do not want this!
I checked the environment and there is no entry from the other system - so is there anybody who has an idea where the Oracle listener gets the information to take the wrong listener.ora file?
Thank you
PhilippHi Phillipp,
I have a server with two systems runnning 1527 and 1537 as well, and is was
set up correctly with sapinst. I can query both listeners from the cmd.exe
as both sidadm users by only changing the ORACLE_HOME !
Nothing else matters.
Login devadm -> "lsnrctl status" shows DEV configuration
Then SET ORACLE_HOME to the other installtion
"lsnrctl status" shows QAS configuration
I think you need to use the net assistent to configure correctly, because on windows
both listeners have the same name LISTENER (which does not work on UNIX at all,
and causes shared memory problems there).
So I suggest:
- Remove QAS Listener
- Stop DEV Listener
- CREATE QAS Listener as qasadm when DEV Listener is stopped
If you manage to get them to work one by one, stop using lsnrctl for anything else but STATUS.
To manage the listeners, use "net start / net stop"
Hope this helps

Hi,
We have some applications developed in Apex 3.2.1 (which is mod_plsql) that have not been moved into Production yet. We are planning to upgrade to Apex 4.0 with Oracle Listener as soon as they are available (we don't want to turn on mod_plsql on any web server). What will be the migration process? Will my applications function and look the same when I open them in Apex 4.0? Will any functionality, formatting, etc. be lost?
I heard that there is a Migration Assistant but there is not much information available.
When Apex 4.0 and Oracle Listener will be released? Summer 2010?
I would appreciate all the information that you have about this.
Thanks,

MSSQL 2005 to Oracle Database Conversion Issue
Hi Experts,
We have a requirement where we need to fetch data from MSSQL2005 and store it in Oracle DataBase.
Could you all please let me know which KM module i need to import to achieve it.
Cheers,
AndyAndy
There are a number of options. You should select based on the volume of data and platform, and flexibility of your architecture etc
- At the simplest level, you could use the LKM SQL to Oracle, which will issue a SELECT on the source and do INSERTS on the target (using prepared statements etc, so not horrendous)
- You could use the a bulk loading methodology - by using SQLUNLOAD (or bcp) and then load into Oracle using External Tables or SQLLOADER, which will probably be the fastest solution. (I created a KM which generates all the right code to load the data that way, but without a staging area, you can find it here
If you want a staging area table etc, then you could modify the code in that KM to be an LKM rather than an IKM.
