Oracle upgradation patch

hi,
I have downloaded not purchased Oracle 10gR (10.2.0.1) from official Oracle site for FileNet 4.0. but the issue is that FileNet recomends 10.2.0.2. becoz of this our integration of FileNet with Oracle is not successful...what we need to do is to apply an upgradation patch i.e upgrade from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.2. My question is whether these patches available free from cost without purchasing licence...if yes then from where...the link...

Sadly, the Personal Edition is only available on
Windows OS.Ah, yes, correct. I was a bit hasty there.
Editions, including Personal Edition, are layed out in the Licensing Information guide.
I have not done (or will do) such an excavation, but I wonder how Oracle would consider licensing PE for use on other platforms? (i.e. use of "plain" EE install)

  • Oracle Upgrade / Patching

    I've been asked to look into this area from my DBA especially with regards our EP6 which is running oracle 9i.  I just can't find reference to it in the mindfield known as sapnet, can anybody point me in the right direction ie is Oracle 10.2.04 ok for EP6 and is the critical patching fine using Oracle's methods.
    As part of a review of the applications we are currently hosting, it is likely that we will be implementing a program of applying Oracleu2019s quarterly critical patch updates. To ease the task, we would also be looking to get all databases up to the current release of 10 (10.2.0.4), then to apply the critical patch sets as they are issued by Oracle. Initially the plan is to apply the minus 1 release to test for at least a month before applying to production. In short, do you support such a policy, or does this in some way invalidate the support agreement?
    Thanks
    Ian

    Hi Ian,
    Yes Oracle 10.2 is recommended.
    Cheers

  • Apply Oracle Receivables Patch after Upgrade 5753621

    Hi,
    After upgrading the Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2 database to 10.2.0.3.....
    do we required to apply this patch..Oracle Receivables patch...5753621..

    From Patch 5753621 README file:
    Abstract: ONE-OFF REQUEST ON TOP OF 11.5.9 CU2 FOR BUG 5525015
    Description: Enabled Histogram for complete_flag in ra_customer_trx_all table
    Patch Size: 4.8K
    I have applied this patch last time I did an upgrade to 10.2.0.3 with no issues at all. The patch would create a histogram on ra_customer_trx_all.complete_flag and gather the table stats then, nothing more.

    Hi Deepak/Folks,
    Another question that I have is that while doing the Oracle Upgrade on an EP server, the patches were not installed properly and I had to shut down the Patches installation after it did not do anything for a while.
    Now when I try to install the patches it fails telling me that the Installed patches cannot be verified, I had written to SAP and they told me to follow the

    Oracle Upgrade from 10g to 11g [BRANCHED BY MODERATOR]

  • 9.0.2.6 Portal Repository Upgrade Patch problems.

    We got some problem with Portal when tryed to apply
    9.0.2.6 Upgrade. Could anybody give advice on this issue:
    Initial configuration:
    Solaris8, Portal 9.0.2.2.14, Oracle 9iAS R2 v.9.0.2.0, RDBMS 9.0.1.3. The infrastructure and midtier work on different SPARC-servers.
    Accordingly upgrade procedure we succesfully applied:
    a) Infrastructure: 9.0.1.4 Patchset for Oracle RDBMS server, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for OID, Oracle 9iAS SSO-server
    migration to 9.0.2.5, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for 9iAS Core.
    b) 9.0.1.4 Patchset for Oracle RDBMS server, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for OID, Oracle 9iAS SSO-server migration to 9.0.2.5, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for 9iAS Core, Portal 9.0.2.6
    patch.
    After this we needed to make just one last step:
    Portal 9.0.2.6 Repository Upgrade Patch (2981297) for
    changing Portal's repository schemes. It worked but
    like a result we got the next errors after patch upgrade
    was done:
    a) "The following invalid non-Portal objects exist in the Portal Schema: INDEX ABC (the name of portal object), PACKAGE BODY WWMON_REP_REPOSITORY, PACKAGE BODY WWMON_REP_REPOSIT_DTL, PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "," when expecting one of the following: (-+case mod not null <an identifier>,...) The symbol "null" was substituted for "," to continue.)" See upgtmp/nonportal.log
    b) "ERROR: 1 invalid objects remain; ERROR: Failed while updating the new portlet IDS..."
    c) "ERROR: ORA-01407: cannot update ("PORTAL"."WWSBR_URL$"."URL") to NULL.
    d) Two package body of packages at PORTAL scheme became invalid: WWMON_REP_REPOSITORY, WWMON_REP_REPOSIT_DTL. About 20 package body of packages at PORTAL_DEMO became invalid (It seems like initial portlet ID's disappeared
    and except of pportlet_id there is nothing:
    Example:
    inital statement at body:
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    PORTAL.wwpro_api_invalidation.invalidate_cache(
    p_provider_id => p_provider_id,
    p_portletid => 1065753336,
    p_instance_id => p_reference_path,
    p_subscriber_id => PORTAL.wwctx_api.get_subscriber_id ,
    p_user => PORTAL.wwctx_api.get_user);
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    after upgrade repository patch:
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    PORTAL.wwpro_api_invalidation.invalidate_cache(
    p_provider_id => p_provider_id,
    p_portletid => ,
    p_instance_id => p_reference_path,
    p_subscriber_id => PORTAL.wwctx_api.get_subscriber_id ,
    p_user => PORTAL.wwctx_api.get_user);
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Like a result after 9.0.2.6 Portal Repository Upgrade Patch application we lost the possibility to edit user's
    profiles at Portal and other nesessary features. It seems
    like some portlet ID's just dissapeared from Portal scheme. Could anybody had the same problem with Portal Upgrade 9.0.2.6? Quite possible that we missed some important element at during upgrade but ,really, we didn't wait so unlucky result. Advice something, please...
    Regards. Igor.

    Igor,
    Since you've encountered undocumented errors, your repository upgrade has failed. You'll want to leave the repository as is for troublshooting, if at all possible, and log a TAR with support if you haven't already. They'll ask you to upload your upgrade log file and your upgrade tmp directory.
    Regards

  • Oracle Upgrade --  Pre-Upgrade 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.1

    Hello,
    I want to do an Oracle Upgrade to version 11.2g!
    At this point I did some things (in Windows Server 2003 X64):
    1-) Install Oracle 10.2.0.1 (DVD Media);
    2-) Installation of Oracle patchset 10.2.0.4 (note 871735);
    3-) Installation of interim / last generics patch (note 1137346);
    4-) Installation of SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 by SAPInst
    5-) After SAP installation I did all the corrections in Oracle parameters as it mentioned in note 830576.
    As you see above, all the SAP system was well installed!
    But now I want to do the Oracle Upgrade process to the last version, Oracle DB 11.2g  (11.2.0.1)... and so I´m following the Upgrade guide "Upgrade to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2) Windows.pdf" with some SAP notes for Upgrade process.
    So I´m at this point in planning chapter where is recommended to check so things in actual database, one of this checks are running some SQL-scripts to perform an Oracle database upgrade with DBUA to release 11.2 (as mentioned in note 1431793 - Oracle 11.2.0: Upgrade Scripts)
    I ran two Pre-Scripts, the @pre_upgrade_status.sql and @pre_upgrade_tasks.sql but both outputs showed some warnings and they are worrying me... so what I ask to you is some kind of help in analyse of them and tell me if this issues are relevant for the upgrading process and if so, what you recommend me to do to correct their!
    Next I will post here this two log scripts... they are long!!!

  • Oracle Upgrade 10.2.0.2 to 11g

    Hello,
    We have planed to upgrade the database Oracle from 10.2.0.2 to 11g.
    We are wondering wether there is a risk to upgrade directely to 11g from our current version.
    Also, what are the important points to observe and what are the tests to do in SAP before upgrading ?
    Many thanks in advance
    Regards
    Ben

    Just follow the Oracle upgrade guides at
    http://service.sap.com/instguides
    --> Database Upgrades
    --> Oracle
    - read all the notes mentioned in the guide
    - make sure you use a proper kernel and a proper instantclient
    - make sure you apply not only the upgrade itself but also all PSU patches
    - take a full backup of the system
    I suggest to first upgrade a test and/or qa system and then do the production.

  • Oracle Critical Patch Update July 2009 for Oracle BEA Releases

    Hi All,
    Researching in metalink about CPU's for WLS 9.1 I found Oracle Support Note #835668.1. Table 9 of this document
    lists minimum product requirements for WebLogic server.
    According to this table WLS 9.1 should have a minimum version of 9.2MP3.
    I am confident that WLS 9.1 and WLS 9.2 are completely different WLS versions and there is no upgrade path from WLS 9.1 to WLS 9.2.
    Is this table misprinted or is it required to replace all WLS 9.1 installations with WLS 9.2 installations?
    What is this table trying to indicate?
    Please assist.
    It would be very helpful.
    Thanks.

    Oracle Critical Patch Update fix a list of bugs , oracle will release CPU in every three months interval.
    you need to click the link which oracle has sent.
    then choose your database version===then select the patch number===then on metalink download the patch
    with patch there is read me file which tell you how to apply the patch on the database.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Taj

  • Oracle Database patching

    Hi plz help me.
    i want to learn oracle database patching from the people like u but before that i tried much hard to find the documentation of patching at oracle documentation center. now after searching it lot i m tired so plz can any one tell me the exact documentation by which i can learn patching for applications. plz help me.

    The patch(set) documentation is included in the patch zip file. The best way to learn about patching database should be to build a test db, then try to patch/upgrade it.

  • Upgrade patch from Apex 1.6 to 2.2.1

    Hi, we are trying to upgrade our Apex installation from 1.6 to 2.2.1. The database version is 10.1.0.3.0
    The plan is to install 10g Rel2 database (upgrade to 10.2.0.2) and Apex 2.2.1 on another file system on the server (since we don't have a separate play area) and export the data from 1.6 and import it into the 2.2.1 installation.
    Not sure what the gottchas with this plan are. I want to move away from 10.1.0.3.0 database b'coz there are no Oracle CPU patches for that version. Not sure if I should go with 10.1.0.3.0 database for now, get done with the Apex upgrade and then try to upgrade to 10.2 db at a later date or if I can go ahead and try it out with 10.2.0 database right now.
    Any inputs are highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi:
    have you got any response on this ? What's the reason you are planning to upgrade ? The reason I asking this question because I am hearing some security vulnerability with 1.6 which is fixed on 2.2.1.
    Any feedback will be appreciated.
    cheers
