package-cleanup --dupes
rpm -Va nofiles nodigest
But if y try to remove package package glibc-2.5-49.i686 (I'm i386x64), it tells me that it will remove 214 packages !
So I answered no ..
What shall I do ?

Still have same issued with glibc (for your memory, initial thread target was to solve this issue wich caused issue on glibc) :

  • In TestStand 2.0, will a record be lost if an Oracle database server is down? Can it be written to a file to be entered later?

I currently have TestStand 2.0 setup to log information to an Oracle 8i server located on a network. Everything works correctly; however, if I lose the network connection, what happens to the database record that is,or would be, created? Is it lost? Can it be saved to a file and entered into the database at a later date?

TestStand has no built in mechanism for handling a database that is offline. The logging sequence will generate an error if it is unable to write. You could modify the sequence to trap the error, write to a backup file, and then transfer the records when the database is back on line. What we're implementing here is to always write to a local database and an ActiveX component running in the background transfers records to the network database when it is available.

  • Oracle application server 10.1.3.1.0 install - JAVA error

    Hi Everyone,
I am trying to Install Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1.0 on 32 bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.8 (Tikanga)
When running the Installer, I use the -ignoreSysPrereqs option because 10.1.3.1.0 is only supported with Linux Server 4, I believe. But I know people have installed it on Linux 5.7 and 5.8
anyways, Oracle application server gets installed and asks me to run root.sh. I run root.sh and then hit the OK button to proceed,
At this point, it tries to run the configuration assistant and fails right away with the following error:
    Starting to execute configuration assistants
Launched configuration assistant 'Oracle Application Server Configuration Assistant'
    Tool type is: Optional.
The command being spawned is: '/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.3.1/jdk/bin/java -cp /u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.3.1/j2ee/home/applications/ascontrol/ascontrol/WEB-INF/lib/ascontrol.jar:/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.3.1/j2ee/home/applications/ascontrol/ascontrol/WEB-INF/lib/log4j-core.jar:/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.3.1/jlib/oraclepki.jar:/u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.3.1/jlib/ojmisc.jar: oracle.sysman.ias.studio.installer.ASControlConfigAssistant -sso false -j2eeinstance home -username oc4jadmin -password Protected value, not to be logged -oraclehome /u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.3.1'

Any ideas? am i missing a library or environment variable?
    Thanks

I have now set the following environment variables
    ORACLE_BASE
    ORACLE_HOME
    TNS_ADMIN
    PATH

  • Oracle forms 6i (Pentium 4, Win98) "Can not install"

I have a "customized" Oracle interface that was created in Oracle forms 6. I have successfully used this form on Windows 95 Clients but now I must switch to a Windows 98 O/S on a Pentium 4 machine. I actually had to download a special Oracle Installer to install the 8i Client, but I now need to load a newer version of the Forms "run-time" and can not install it from the 6i forms download. Any suggestions would be more than appreciated.

Forms 6i installation in Windows98 should not give any trouble. Hope you
have checked the memory. You should have 128MB memory to install
Forms6i. In Runtime you may not actually require that much of memory but
to install you reuire that (Please see Hardware requirement for Form6i).

  • [SOLVED] Can't install gcc-ecj!

Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong session, it seemed the most appropriated to me.
I need to install pdftk, and gcc-gcj is one of its dependencies. I tried to install pdftk through yaourt, but it failed after almost 30 minutes of compiling, so I decided to "go neanderthal" and install it almost by brute force, checking the aur web page for pdftk and downloading and installing the dependencies tarballs.
First, when I try to install gcc-ecj through AUR, I got a simple error message:
    [eduardo@Tardis ~]$ cd aur-mirror/gcc-gcj
    [eduardo@Tardis gcc-gcj]$ ls
    PKGBUILD
    [eduardo@Tardis gcc-gcj]$ makepkg -si
==> ERROR: install file (gcc-gcj.install) does not exist.
So I downloaded the tarball from this page (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gcc- … mments=all) and tried to install. It failed also, but it gave me a lot of output to pinpoint the problem. The output was:
    [eduardo@Tardis gcc-gcj]$ makepkg -si

The ggc-gcj PKGBUILD doesn't quote variables correctly, resulting in failure when directory names have spaces in them like on your system.
Look for lines like this :
    make -j1 DESTDIR=${pkgdir} install-target-libjava
if you change all references to variables to something like this, it should work :
    make -j1 DESTDIR="${pkgdir}" install-target-libjava

Have you found a resolution to this issue?
I am receiving almost the identical error message in my newly installed 12c OEM when trying to start the OMS.
I have tried a variety of shutdown/restart sequences for the repository database, listener, oms and agent and have gotten nowhere.
My installation was performed on Windows Server 2008 R2 with Oracle RDBMS 11.2.0.2, just to post some basic environment info.
    Any information would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • New Mac Mini Server, two Hard drives, Can I install an older Mac OS on the second drive and switch start up disks to run PowerPc applications?

New Mac Mini Server, has two Hard drives, could I install an older Mac OS on the second drive and switch start up disks to run PowerPc applications?

I haven't purchased a Mac Mini at this time and I may not if I can't use it as a non server. I need to update my system I would be better off buying a new Mac with Snow Leopard the last app that will run Rosetta. The Mac Mini Server has a quad 2.0 processor and 4 GB RAM and two internal hard drives and should out perform my dual 1.25 G4. I can run PPC apps on my G4 but it is 8+ years old and seems to be getting noisy. I don't want to tie myself to another old machine. I want a machine that will work with Intel Apps I was hoping that the two hard drives would allow me to boot from the second with Snow Leopard and use Lion on the first drive to be able to keep up to date with all my other universal apps and Mac OS up grades. The application I use the most is my CanvasX app with drawing & vector effects, text & typography, sprite technology, painting, image editing, and multimedia tools are all in this one app but will not be updated to run Intel apps. I am frozen in time because my most valuable Application won't be updated and Apple has cut me off by not supporting PPC in Lion and onward; Apple used to backward support but I guess that they are no longer as user friendly and concerned with a happy user. I have always been a loyal Mac user and I will not migrate to Windows under any circumstance; I hate windows!
    Thanks for your prompt response,
    Dick Deaton

There is supposedly a fix for this 'stage error' but I tried one of them and it doesn't work. What i have found is that you either create a dual boot Win ME/(98 or 2000 pro) or dump ME as I did and run 98 or 2000 instead. It is painful but unfortunately, seeming necessary. I made it a bit less painful by using Symantec Works to back up all of my other loaded APPS (and Registry entries) Most reloaded to 98 even though they were running in ME.
    Good luck.

  • Hi, I'm trying to download widgets for dashboard. Seems every widget I try either says it can't find the server or says it can't install because its from an unknown developer. It's on the apple site so I'm a little confused. I've tried like 15.

So does anyone know or have the same issue. It seems a little odd.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When you download a widget, you are getting a message telling you that it's not from an identified developer. This message is caused by Gatekeeper > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5290?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US You can fix this issue by two ways:
    1. Right-click the widget and choose "Open".
    2. Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, and tick "Anywhere" under "Allow applications downloaded from"

  • Can I use flash drive in Windows that install on Oracle VM Server

    Dear everyone,
I install Windows server 2003 on Oracle VM Server x86. I can use .iso file by copy iso file to /OVS/iso_pools and add resource. But I want to use flash drive on Windows server 2003 that installed on Oracle VM. I don't know how to do or it can do. I want to plug flash drive in Oracle VM Server and can use it on Windows server 2003
Thank you so much for advance
    Fujimaru

It looks like you will not be able to use it without continually stopping and starting the guest and editing the vm.cfg file to add the physical device once it is mounted on the DOm0

  • Can I install Oracle VM server on VMware Workstation 7 with linux?

I have installed VMware Workstation 7 on my laptop that already has windows 7 operating system.
Next I installed Oracle Enterprise Linux 4 on my VMware Workstation 7.
Now am planing to setup a RAC environment.
What should be my next step? The documentation says I need to install VMware server.
Are VMware server and Oracle VM server the same?
can we replace one with other.
I am a newbie.. Please spare my questions.

  • Oracle Application Server 10g Installation Guide for Windows

The link to Oracle Application Server 10g Installation Guide for Windows on the OTN Web Site don't work. Using search on site does not turn up any installation document for Oracle Application Server 10g.
How can I find the Installtion Guide or the Quick Installtion Guide for Oracle Application Server 10g for Windows?

    Hi,
The docs you seek are available through the OTN documentation pages at: http://otn.oracle.com/documentation/index.html.
Click on the link for "Oracle Application Server Release 10g (9.0.4)" and then on the "View Library" link for part B10468_04 - Oracle Application Server 10g Online Documentation 10g (9.0.4.0.0) for Microsoft Windows.
The Docs are located under the Documentation tab.

  • Oracle Application server 10g on RHEL 4

    Hi Experts,
I have a oracle application server 10.1.3 which is installed on a IBM blade server which has Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (RHEL4) as operating system.
The server has a RAM of 8GB and has 4 processors (Intel XEON 3.8 GHz).
I have deployed an application on this server, the application has been developed in Oracle ADF (ver 10g). The jdeveloper version used for development was 10.1.3.2.0
I want to ask how many concurrent user session this server can handle concurrently. And how can i perform a stree or load testing on this server.
Are there testing tools available for stress testing (pls provide any name).
Using this configuration can this server can it handle around 500 sessions of users.
    Thanks in advance .

May be possible but it is probably not tested by Oracle nor is it supported as error correction support for OAS 10g has finished more than a year ago.
A good starting point is My Oracle Support Note [url https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=NOT&id=564174.1]564174.1, "Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2) Installation Requirements for Linux OEL 5 and RHEL 5". Make sure that you always use a 32-bit emulated shell (linux32 bash).

I have to run forms using this setup.
I was unable to find which version of oracle application server forms and reports should i install to run.
I would appreciate if someone can guide me.
    Regards.

Application server 10.1.3 does not have Forms. You should install 10.1.2.0.2 version. See Re: Forms / Reports services in 10gAS Release 3
