Organisation struture assignments

Hi Folks,
I have a requirement in relation with the service org structure.
The client has many service org  and that operate in different service activities and hence the need to report on these various aspects.
Bacause of which  there is a need to split otherwise single org unit into multiple service org. But the engineers here work on all the activities within that service organisation and as well works in another service organisation. In order to achieve this we will have to assign the same engineers to different teams under diferent service organisation.
Now can we make these multiple assignments of the same engineer to different service teams at the same time, I mean with the overlapping time periods on the assignment validity.
If yes, what are th eimplications, if any while using the system.
Also please share what is the best practice with respect to ralation between service org and service team?I mean how many service teams under one service org?
In relation to this the other requirement  is that whether the resource planning tool will allow the plannes to filter the service engineers based on thier skill, region they operate etc., because some teams are going to have around 800 engineers.
Request you all experts to share teh experience, will definitely reward with points.

Hello muralidhar,
thanks a lot,
but a bit of confusion,
the scenario is, because of the reporting requirements  the national level service org is being split into multiple units. But th esince the pool of engineers are the  same for these split service orgs, an engineer is going to be assigned to multiple service teams and the validity period of these assignments is going to be the same, in other words overlapping.
Whether this is allowed in CRm org structure?
And the need in Resource planner tool is to have a filters on the engineers based on their skill and /or  region etc.,
Thanks once again, will rewad definitely,
Kartik

You have to carry on the following activites:
    1) Define Organisation Struture
    2) Application specific customizing
    A) Define Characteristic values
    B) Define release codes and make them Workflow relevant
    C) Define release strategy
Based on the characteristic values the Purchase Order will be applied to a particular release
strategy and will fall under specific catagory to pass through different level of approvals
    D) Assign release codes to corresponding Orgnisational Objects with ID
    3) Task specific customizing
    A) Activate the event linkage for the standard workflow WS20000075

    Hi Prashantha,
First of all, You need not have to copy and make a new workflow if the requirement is only to
approve. You can use the standard workflow.
You have to carry on the following activites:
    1) Define Organisation Struture
    2)  Application specific customizing

  • Detect obsolete mitigating control assignments?

    Hello,
What report/s would you use to detect obsolete mitigating control assignments?
The scenario is: A user has been assigned a mitigating control, let's say during the CUP workflow, to mitigate a certain risk that came with a certain role. Later, that role is removed from the user. Now the user is in the scope of a mitigating control. However, the user is not even subject to the risk in question anymore.
Which way (periodically?) could you detect these cases and clean up the mitigating control assignments?
    Thanks and regards
    Patrick

    Hey,
My experience of cleaning up controls has not been very straight forward.
I have had to perform various risk analysis reports and look up a list of user accounts that have been marked as "Expired" etc.
It can be slightly more difficult  if, like many organisations, you decide to assign a control with a infinite validity period (i.e. 12.12.9999).
The Business and Internal Control team need to be very proactive about regularly monitoring the controls and reviewing the assignments. This is one reason why I strongly recommend that controls are only assigned for a set period (i.e. 365 days/1 year), so a compulsory review takes place by the control owners/business on a regular basis. This makes the controls much more affective, robust and fit for purpose.
Happy to hear other's opinions and ideas.

  • Regarding work flow in the organisation

    Hello,
I am new to SAP XI. I want to join as a SAP XI developer. So I want to know about the work flow in the organisation. Means who will raise issues and who will take care of it first. and how it will reach to SAP XI developer.
What are the human roles in the SAP XI Work flow in the organization and what are their responsibilities. Who will responsible to  write the Java mapping coding or ABAP mapping coding or XSLT mapping coding.
    Thank you
Edited by: jyotsna dm on Apr 12, 2008 6:54 AM

    Hi,
In XI: It is separated in two parts
    1) XI basis (Administration)
    Activites are:
    1) XI installation
    2) Configuration activitie
    3) Post installation checks
    4) SLD configuration
    5) Create Users,
    6) Role assignments.
    And many more
    2) XI Implementation and development.
Under the development you have two parts Integration repository which is desing part which involves small amount of Java knowledge whenever your requirement is not fulfilled by standard SAP XI function.
    and integration Configuration:
This is very simple stpes once your design is over.Based on your requirement you have to use the standard adapter provided by SAP for example if file is coming then u will go for File adapter,if IDOC is psoted to R3 then you go for IDOC adapter, communication with remote client u go for SOAP adapter.
    XI Project lifecycle:
    1) Blue printing phase (Design phase).
    2) Build phase (Development)
    3) Integration testing
    4) Project go live
    5) Support.
    Now coming to ur question.
XI Developers role and responsibilities are:
    •     Analysis of the Functional Specifications which is received from Function people.
    •      Understanding the processes related to the third party non SAP and SAP systems.
    •     Raise issue log for the business requirement which is not understood from functional spec.
    •     Prepare Technical Specification Document,
    •     Do the development: now developer has to do the coding which either involved java,XSLT,abap mapping.
    •     Prepare the UTC
    •     Reviewing Interface Technical Specifications and Unit Test Document, Interface build and Unit Test, Self and peer review of the deliverables, develop Interface Object via Design and Configuration.
    •     Project golive and give support and do bug fixing, change request n all.
hopw u got the prefect workflow.

    Hi FF,
I think we are on the same page with terminology
Indeed, our process is a bit "enhanced" I would say. When doing the GR from purchase order, the batch characteristic LOBM_UDCODE is pre-filled with the UD of "Q" (LEANQM1  Q) whereas the IL created upon packing of HUs has no UD.
Then, when user makes UD for this IL, the pre-filled UD on batch level should be changed to the UD user made. It is not and the value disappears. I've run some checks on the ABAP code and the issue seems to be caused by the VB_CHANGE_BATCH used in the MQEVAF40 in form charge_klassifizieren. When the initial UD is made (QA11), the internal table for this f-n module has only the new values the batch classification is to be updated with. When the UD change is made (QA12) - both new and old values are provided. If I change the internal table values to include old and new ones for the initial UD, the process works correctly (batch LOBM_UDCODE is updated with new value).
As we are upgrading to ECC6 EHP5, I've compared the flow to the ECC5 and the values provided to VB_CHANGE_BATCH at initial UD (QA11) are the same for both systems. The process works in ECC5. As result, we have created the OSS message.
In MSC3n changes to the batch characteristics are visible from change docs - and the log is kept for QA11 and QA12. For the removal of LOBM_UDCODE it displays "deleted" values, and for QA12 it shows "created" values. In other words - change logs are working correctly.
Once SAP responds to OSS message I will update this tread. Any ideas appreciated.

  • How to create/choose a sales organisation?

    Hello everybody,
i am working with mySAP CRM trying to create a marketing campaign. I am struggling how to create / use a sales organisation.
What i can do is create a sales organisation (within "create organisation modell", sorry using the german version, so definitions are maybe not correct)
When i now want to create a Product catalog, i have to choose a sales organisation, but it just say "no values found"
So my question is, is there a need to activate my sales organisation, or is something else wrong.
Hopefully some of you can help.
    Best regards
    Heinz

    Hi Heinz,
Once you make changes to org model, if it has to be visible for applicaitons working on the model. You have to perform the following activity:
    1. Goto SAP CRM IMG Menu: Customer Relationship Management ->Master Data -> Organizational Management -> Tools -> Update List of Organizational Objects
Execute the object for Sales Org.
    2. Also Check the consistency of the attribute assignments to the organizational units in the SAP CRM IMG Menu: Customer Relationship Management -> Master Data -> Organizational Management -> Tools ->Check Settings for  Attribute Maintenance
    3. Also, perform Org data settings check in the SAP CRM IMG Menu: Customer Relationship Management -> Master Data -> Organizational Management -> Tools -> Organizational Data Settings Check
    4. Execute Report HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE is used to buffer the attributes of organizational management objects. To enable buffering you have to maintain view T77OMATTR.
Use transaction SE38 to execute the report.
Try doing these, it might help you.

  • Staffing status within organisational structure - adding options (fields)

    Hello
within the organisational structure (PPOME) on a position, on the basic data tab there is a drop down table marked STAFFING STATUS.  Could you please tell me if there is a way to add to this list to seperate the position into various assignments and statuses.
    thank you
    Emma

    Hi Emma,
These staffing status values of positions reside in the "value range" part of  domain "HRPOSSTAT".
In order to add new values, you need an access key to repair this object.
Repair activities are not advised so please think twice before carrying out the activity.
P.S. To check Domain value range, go to SE11, select "Domain", write HRPOSSTAT, change -You'll need the access key right at this point-, Value range tab, add new values .

  • Organisational structure of projects

    Hi,
I observed that WBS elements of different company codes can be created under a project.
So I wanted to know if there is any organizational structure for projects?
Is it that a project can be used in multiple company codes? across company codes?
    For Example:
Company code in Project is 1000
WBS Element X under above project assigned to company code 1000
WBS Element Y under above project assigned to company code 2000
    Regards,
    SD

    Hello SD
You should be aware  that there are organisational values which are
dependant on the plant in a network, and which are set when the network
    is created.
Company code is one of these. If you were able to change the
plant at a later stage, an inconsistency between plant and such
organisation values would result. If you take into account that a
network at this stage could already carry costs etc, this would mean a
serious inconsistency (and rules out trying to update these
    organisational values as well).
This is not allowed by the program logic.

  • Organisational structure --- Mapping

Hello dear Experts ...... This is venkat charan a new commer to SAP SD .
My question is..... how to MAP organisation structure in REAL TIME? What r the steps involved in this ? please help me ?

    Hi Venkat Chanran,
    Please find the details below.
    Client:
Client is an environment where we are working. A client is an organisation term it is an independent unit in the system, each unit consist of own environment and there fore its has own master data or transaction data assigned ,user master records and chart of accounts.
    Master data:
The data, which is the basis for all the SD processing.
    Type of Master Data:
1.Organizational data: this is the structure of the company where by each business is represented by a hierarchical element.
    2. Customer master data: the data where all data regarding customer and material are stored.
    3. Documents: the business transaction is stored in the documents.
    4. Global Settings: it is one in which we define country keys and currencies.
    Company code:
Legal entity and an independent accounting unit at company code level, where we create balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
    Sales organization:
An organizational unit that sells and distributes products, negotiates terms of sale, and is responsible for these transactions.
    Distribution channel:
Channel through which materials or services reach customers. Typical distribution channels include wholesale, retail and direct sales. You can assign a distribution channel to one or more sales organizations.
    Division:
Product groups can be defined for a wide-ranging spectrum of products. For every division you can make customer-specific agreements on, for example, partial deliveries, pricing and terms of payment. Within a division you can carry out statistical analyses or set up separate marketing.
    Sales area:
Combination of Sales organisation, Distribution Channel, and division.
    Sales Office.
Geographical aspects of the organization in business development and sales are defined using the term sales office. A sales office can be considered as a subsidiary.
Sales offices are assigned to sales areas. If you enter a sales order for a sales office within a certain sales area, the sales office must be assigned to that area.
    Sales Group.
The staff of a sales office may be subdivided into sales groups. For example, sales groups can be defined for individual divisions.
    Salespersons.
Individual personnel master records are used to manage data about salespersons. You can assign a sales person to a sales group in the personnel master record.
    Plant:
A plant is a place where either material are produced or goods and services provided.
    Storage location:
    Where we store the material.
    Shipping point:
It is a physical location where we load the goods in order to deliver.
    Loading point:
It is a point where we load and unload the material by means of equipments.
    Business Area.
A unit in an enterprise, grouping product and market combinations as homogeneously as possible for the purpose of developing unified business policy.
    Financial Accounting (FI).
A business area is an organizational unit within financial accounting which represents a separate area of operations or responsibilities within an organization.
The system posts costs and revenue according to the business area.
The business area can be Assigned to the:
sales area (if the accounts are to be posted according to sales)
plant/division (if the accounts are to be posted according to products)
Financial accounting transactions can be allocated to a specific business area.
    Credit control area.
Organizational unit in an organization that specifies and checks credit limits for customers. A credit control area can include one or more company codes. It is not possible to assign a company code to more than one credit control areas.

  • Assignment of plant to sales organisation and distribution channel

    Hi,
What is the use of assignment of plant to sales organisation and distribution channel.
    thanks
    Kuntla

    Hi Kuntla,
Please don't get offended. Your explanation is purely irrelevant. If I don't want to record from which plant the material has been sent and hence if I don't make the delivering plant assignment - what will be result. Can I create the sales order and make delivery. Is it possible. This  is one of the important assignments in SD configuration. I don't find fault in posting your reply. It is only for your response to others' replies to the thread. You can do this to their personal mail ids. Otherwise this will become a practice in this forum. Please take this in a positive angle.
    Thanks,
