Oscilloscope with Borland C++ Builder 3
Hi there!
Building a oscilloscope with DAQ card in BCB3: Do I have to build that from
scratch? Or exist there any (free) packages that help me doing that?
Thanks for helping me. Lukas

Is there anything like in Delphi Operator Interface help file "readme.doc" that I can do to avoid this problem?
Thank you.Axeel -
I have never used Borland Builder C++ but I downloaded the trial version 6.0 (Build 10.160) and I was able to use the Project Import Type Library menu command to generate the TS_TLB files. From there I was able to create a simple form application where I dropped the TEngine control from the ActiveX palette, a button control and a timer control for message polling. The code below is what I added to call into TestStand. I did not have any compiling problems.
Hope this helps...

Hi,
I am sorry that I have asked a huge question.
But the main questions I want to know is :
1,In Borland C++ Builder 6,Which version of DAQmx is the best one we will use? DAQmx V8 don't support BCB6.
2,Would you please give an example source file to use *.Lib in BCB6?
3,In other computer,not including developping environment ,which items of DAQmx we have to install,PCI Card Driver?
Which dll?How to make the installation the smallest?
Thanks for your possible answer.Why DAQmx8 doesn't support C++ Builder 6 ?
I've just used LabVIEW with DAQmx8 create dll file for C++ builder 6. My application is to use PCI-6221 generate Analog output. ( just DAQ assistance ).It works well. -
Problem with Borland Builder C++ AND NI-DAQ 6.9.3
Hello,
I am trying to porting a Data Acquisition application developed with Borland Builder 4.0 and NI-DAQ 6.5.1, changing data acquisition Hardware. Now I am using PCI - 6036E, with Ni driver version 6.9.3. My s.o. is Windows XP Professional.
When I link application with nidaq32b.lib and nidex32b.lib and launch my EXE, without call any DAQ function, when I close my window PC is resetting! If I try to use Ni driver version 7.0 or 7.3, I obtain a GP fault as soon I start program.
I think that there are problem of disallineament or other inside file EXE generated. I have tried to generate new file lib with implib utility from DLL, but with the same result.
If anyone cannot help me, I think to substitute call to DAQ functions inside C code with DLL or EXE developed in Visual Basic.
Can anyone give me any help for this? Is it better use VB 4.0 or VB 6.0?
Thank you for your attention.
FabrizioHi,
I would definitely suggest to create the dll in VB6. There are shipping examples for VB6, so that you can see how it looks to program in VB6 with DAQ. These examples can be found at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\VBasic.
I hope this helps. Have a Great Day!

How can I call a DLL from Borland C++Builder that was generated by LabVIEW?

Hi Murray,
Borland C++ Builder uses a .lib format which is not equal with VC++. You
have to rebuild your .lib by using implib.
Try 'implib library.lib library.dll' to create a new .lib.

I try to compile OCCI example with Borland C and receiving this error in occiCommon.h:
typedef OCCI_STD_NAMESPACE::basic_string<utext> UString;
1) Too few arguments in template class name 'basic_string'
2)Declaration terminated incorrectlyI have the same task: using OCCI class in Borland C++Builder (v6) environment. Unfortunately, the only version of OCCI-class prepared by Oracle is for MS VC++. No one tool translate that, does not matter, whether you use ORAOCCI.DLL and implib.exe or ORAOCCI9.LIB and coff2omf.exe.

Re: Fwd: Link Problems With Borland C++ 4.52
I have seen this problem before in another context, and I'll offer the
cause and solution in the hope that they will apply to the Crystal problem.
Many Windows based applications rely on PASCAL calling conventions, which
change the way parameters are handled in function/method calls. They
indicate this by placing one of the following immediately before the
function name in the prototype declarations:
- pascal_far (or something like that)
- WINAPI
- some other typedef of either of the above
For example:
int WINAPI AddTotal(int valueA, int valueB);
Unfortunately, v2.0 of Forte does not provide any mechanisms for changing
the calling conventions of the prototypes in the generated C++ wrapper
library, so when you compile that code, the linker fails. I think that the
compiler may generate different symbols depending on calling conventions,
so that's why it fails.
To fix this, don't autocompile your code, but generate the distribution, go
into the generated C++ files and look for the function prototypes (I think
you can search for FORTE_NO_PROTOTYPES), add WINAPI to the appropriate
places in the prototype definitions (see above) and use fcompile to build
the library. Instructions for fcompile are in the Interfacing With
External Systems manual.
Hope this helps,
James

Thanks for your quick response. Yesterday we had been running down
the path of examining the calling conventions and trying to change them
to PASCAL, but without much success. After receiving your note, we
went back over it again, and this time we were able to finally to piece it
together. In addition to editing the Forte-generated .cc file to declare
the functions as PASCAL, we also had to turn off the compiler's case
sensitivity. (The Crystal .lib file had the function names in mixed case,
but the Borland compiler was generating all uppercase for the names.)
Now I had actually tried this yesterday and it didn't work (in fact it
generated a whole bunch of new errors) - because until we took a
second look at it today, I didn't realize that Borland's linker actually has
TWO flags that control case sensitivity. If you only turn one or the
other off, things can get pretty ugly looking. As soon as we turned
both of them off, the compile and link went beautifully. Again, thanks
for your help; hopefully we are over the worst of it now!
Dale

Run-Time errors using DAQmx and Borland C++ Builder 5.0
I've written a simple program on MS Visual C++ 6.0 to test my PCI-6014 board and it works fine.
I copied the code to Borland C++ builder 5.0 and had some linker problems with the .lib files that where solved with borland's "coff2omf".
Now I've been getting run-time errors when I use the function DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan()... The error code is -50251: "The specified software component is not available. The component was not loaded".
But I'm sure that the code is right, since it works fine on MS Visual C++ 6.0!
That the part of the code where I'm getting the error:
iErro = DAQmxCreateTask("", &thTask);
iErro = DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan(thTask, "Dev1/ai0", "", DAQmx_Val_Diff, -10.0, 10.0, DAQmx_Val_Volts, NU
LL);
Thanks for the help,
MarceloHello
Borland enables certain types of exceptions by default which are initially disable in MSVC. You will need to refer to the documentation for Borland Builder on how to disable floating point exceptions. I believe you can do it by adding the following statement to your initialization code, but you should double check this:
_control87(MCW_EM, MCW_EM);
These exceptions get thrown because we are doing some floating point initialization underneath. This is not an indication of a bug or a problem of any sort. Apparently you have to this for alot of libraries to work correctly with Borland (OpenGL etc...)
Hope this helps

I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
Thanks!After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList. Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid. And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger. Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me. -
How can I add a new channel in CWAI control in Borland C++ Builder 5.0

Message: Got String property "width" for channel "HarnessPortletChannel" = "thick".Youve got to unmount the portal server fs from your project, disable the portlet builder plugin (Tools->options->,,,PortletBuilder) then erase the ps folder inside your ide profile and then start the portlet builder module again. Try to simulate it again and it should work.

Populating dynamic values in the combobox with XML form Builder.
I am trying to populate dynamic value in the combobox with xml form builder. I see the document saying create property group and document property Id with respecitive values. I am able to create the property group with system admin -> System config
-> KM -> CM -> Global services -> property Metadata -> groups with new button. and I am trying to create document property Id with value. I am not able to find the way to give value in the property. I am using EP 7.0 Sp 14. Please let me know how to sovel itHi
You can create new property metadata with System Admin > System Config > KM > CM > Global services > Property Metadata > Properties > New. Specify the values for this metadata as the ones you need to have in the combo box. Use allowed values parameter of the matadata to sepcify the values. Each metadata property will have unique property ID and you can map this property ID to your combo box in xml forms.
Give it a try.

One think. When I create the iso file, it gives a warning message.
