"other data"... 24 GB in new iPad air 32GB

hi,
i just bought an ipad air 32GB (a week ago) and download two movies and then i found out i had no space available. i checked usage and i have 24GB of other data. do not know from where they came from or how to delete that, i have not used apps so far.
please help!

Try tapping Settings > General > Usage, to see what is using the data. It could be an app.
If you don't see a app or lots of space being used by videos, try restarting your iPad. And, if that doesn't do it, try restoring the iPad.

  • How much would it cost to exchange my iPad 3 32gb for a new iPad air 32gb

Please cold sombody answer this question

It will cost the full price of the iPad Air.    Apple does not do exchanges.  you can use their Recycling program, but you'll likely get more money if you attempt to sell it yourself.

  • New iPad Air keyboard freezes, unresponsive and nightmare? Any solutions? I have reset didn't fix it

New IPad Air 32GB. Keyboard is intermittent and not accurate. I can't press the auto correct spellings or move the cursor to desired place in a sentence. Works sometimes and then not at other times. Very frustrating. Any fixes? I bought a Anker Bluetooth keyboard and used a few times. I have a thin screen protector on, could this cause the issue? Help thanks.

Does your iTunes account have current payment information?
An expired credit card date will prevent even free Apps from going through.
Is iTunes up to date?  11.1.1 is the current version.
are you getting an error message?
Have you checked iTunes Purchases?  Apps may not download, but are hung up in the cloud because you haven't done updates.
Do you have enough space on the iPad?

  • IPad Air 32GB Wifi model, won't turn on, recover, restore, with error 4005 after trying to use facetime, switched off. :( HELP!

bought my mom a new iPad Air 32GB WiFi model via eBay and got it yesterday. It worked all fine and I even updated it to the latest iOS version. It worked all fine for the next few hours until I tried to have a facetime call using my iPad Air. Somehow within few seconds after the call being initialized, my moms iPad got switched off. I tried almost all the solutions I found via Apple community, google and other sites. None of them worked. ( Restore, Recovery, DFU Mode, Pressing Home and ON/OFF switch etc ) Somehow I managed to connect the iPad to itunes and when i press the restore button, I get error 4005 after 5 - 10 mins appearing 'waiting for iPad' message. I am in Sri Lanka and I have no Apple Stores here, or authorized service providers. since this isn't a fault of the ebay seller, cannot return it too. Please help me!

    Hi Tom,
Thank you very much for your time and trying to help me on this issue. I really appreciate it.
I went through those steps more than few time since yesterday ( saw you had posted this solution on a similar issue by another user )
still no luck. Now I cannot exit from DFU mode, or either restore it due to 4005 error. ( since its a new iPad, i only had few apps installed. so not going to loose much data as well ). I also try to exit DFU mode by using few third party apps such as Wondershare Dr.Fone, Phone Rescue, ReiBoot, RecBoot. Only wondershare Dr.Fone app showed me a screen with a message saying the iOS device is 'not in normale mode, press home + off/on button to switch to normal mode, which never worked either.
Really appreciate your help but I am open for more solutions other than Restore, Recovery Mode, DFU mode or any method to overcome error 4005. I would also like to know are there any softwares to diagnose the iPad Air to detect whats wrong with it. so that I can be sure if it is a hardware failure or firmware issue.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nimasha

  • How do I transfer all my data from my original iPad 1 to my new iPad Air?

How do I transfer all my data from my original iPad 1 to my new iPad Air?

Do a full sync and backup of your one. I use iTunes for all my backing up. Then unplug the one and plug in the Air. Go through the setup process and when you have the choice to 'set up as new or restore from backup' chooose the the restore and your air will be a near clone of your One. You will need to reset up wifi and website passwords, but the data should be there.
Once you are sure the Air has all you need on it, you can go into the settings and 'erase all content and settings' which puts your One back to the 'out of box' state to you can sell it if you want.

  • I just received my new iPad air and would like to download or transfer my data from my old iPad to my new one.  I have to return my old iPad to my company On Monday and I wish to save as much data as possible

I just purchased a new iPad air and need to transfer the data from my old iPad to the new one.  I have to return my old iPad to my company on Mon 2/17/14

Connect the old iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy your purchases off it and over to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, then take a backup of it (File > Devices > Back Up) and restore that backup onto the new iPad (restoring a backup onto a different device won't copy passwords, so you will need to enter your email account passwords, router password, and any passwords stored on Safari on your new iPad).

Hi were you able to resolve yours?
I was very worried losing all my medical stuff on my iPad Air 2, plus i have nothing to use for the next day! So i have to try all the possible things i read on the internet!! And this worked on my part (Thank God, and thank you Google)
    Perform a hard reboot
Hold down the Home button and Power button on your iPhone or iPad and keep holding them until you see the Apple logo. Once you do, you can let go. When your device boots back up, go ahead and check to see if the apps have started re-downloading. If they still appear to be stuck, continue on.

  • Keychain data won't load into new iPad Air. Contacts, Calendars, do

Currently I use an iCloud keychain on both a Yosemite iMac and a older iPad. After setting up a new iPad Air 2, using my iTunes restore, Calendars, contacts, bookmarks, everything works fine, but Keychain (Safari passwords & autofill) is empty. It doesn't ask another device for a code. Does't sync. Tried deleting back to new and restoring again, still no iCloud Keychain.
Safari websites on the new iPad ask if I want to save passwords to my iCloud Keychain , and do.... despite the fact that the items are in the original keychain, the one I cannot access.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi vichochile,
If you are having an issue with syncing your new iPhone with the information that is in iCloiud (and on your other devices) we should make sure that iCloud is set up correctly on the iPhone. See this page for directions -

  • New iPad Air and "other" storage

I just got a new iPad Air and plugged it into my computer. I synced it with my iCloud and updated it to iOS 8.1.1 (it had iOS 8). The usage bar already shows that 3.2 gigs are being used by "other". What would this "other" be? That is a big chunk of space for being a brand new "empty" iPad. iCloud stuff should not be included in the storage because it is in the cloud, correct? Thanks in advance for any help!

Most of it is IOS 8.1.1 itself.
