Outage in NJ area???

Since around 4 PM EST 3/21/11 i have had little to no internet connection. (little as is worse than dial up) I have been on the phone with tech support twice and they had no clue what the issue was. We thought it was my router, but here is the twist in the story... My brother lives two doors down on the same street as me, also has Fios service and is experiencing the same issues. I have tried using search engines to find a relation to an outage, but i have failed to find anything. If there has been any word of an outage in the NJ area, please reply and confirm and possibly an ETA on the fix. Thank you, and i look forward to a reply.

I'm sure he wasn't being an idiot. Each of the techs have tools available to them as mentioned above, some have more access to the tools than others. If you managed to get a higher level tech on a call as a first-line tech support, you probably got someone who had more tools available to them. Not saying this is set in stone, but I've seen it happen many times with other providers when call volume is high.

    My Internet DSL is still down since the June 29 storm.  It has been more than 11 days.  I spent hours waiting for technical support from India, remote modem so many times and they is still outage my Vienna area with no ETA.  Is this correct? 
    After wasting to much time, I'm tire to call them.  I'm using my neighbor's Cox Internet now.  My dry landline number is {edited for privacy}

  • Outage in your area?

    I have been without broadband since Thursday morning and have been told by BT that there is an outage in my area and many others (my area is 01531) and it will be fixed within 24-48 hours, it is now 96 hours plus and still no sign of it being fixed.
    What I don't understand and hope someone can explain to me is that I can log on to BT wifi from the garden, but surely if there is an outage this wouldn't be possible as the neighbours would have no internet either?
    Also I have checked the BT website and it makes no mention of of an outage in my area either!
    The phone still works!!
    Does anyone else have an outage problem in the herefordshire gloucestershire area at present?

  • Can't connect to email via POP3 since outage in my area

    We had an email outage in my area that started 8/26.  It has been fixed according to support.  I can access my verizon.net email using web client, but cannot connect via POP clients.  Authentication fails.  Any ideas?

    BTW it would be nice if the driver update scanner actually worked on the HP website.

    When will we get our phones back this is ridiculous!!!

    download the fios mobile app, and part of it's troubleshooting is that it checks for outages in your area.    it also lets you do some basics and schedule a visit if you need one, you can also do a live chat through your cell too. 
    I'm not sure how many florida customers are online today, I'm in the west coast.

  • Alleged DLS HSI Outage in My Area

    I have searched high and low to confirm an outage in Massachusetts. This is what tech support stated last night on the phone. Of course after 1.5 hrs on the phone with level 1 support. I am trying to confirm because the ticket that was opened stated that it will not be resolved for two days. Can anyone confirm that there is a network issue that is affecting more than just my home?

    Is there an outage in Southern California, 909 area code?  I can't get online since yesterday, anyone else reporting problems? 

    Live chat is open 7 days a week... diferent departments are open different days and times
    Technical support/repair is available 7 days via chat and 24/7 on the phone
    there is no public website to check for Verizon outages

  • Total broadband outage in 0208 area

    Awoke this morning to find total broadband outage.
    Followed prompts. Reset home hub. Rang support. Got answered after 25 mins (not bad!).
    They said outage will continue for another 12 hours to 18 hours. They also said that I have to reset home hub intermittently to check if it has come back on. I asked for a refund and they said they will call me on Sunday!
    Anyone else in London area have this? 
    I've had to purchase £10 from mobile broadband dongle 3 Connect. BT should compensate for this. It's "Total" Broadband. 
    And this is one of many, many, many problems I've had with BT since starting with them only 6 months ago.
    I will never use BT again.

    It seems to be working now.

  • Outage in Edgware area 0208

    My daughters who live in Bow/Mile End, London lost their Infinity since last wednesday and although this outage is listed in the BT Service Status page, it doesn't tell me much. The estimated fix date is shown as "ongoing". Can someone in the know here let us know a little bit more such as what happened in the Edgware area and when does service is likely to resume. It will be nice to know what sort of compensation BT is likely to offer. Thanks.

  • Outage in my Area - now constant flashing Orange l...

    Apparently, last night my internet went down and was area specific. 
    Since then it's been repaired, but my HH3 refuses to connect. 
    My OpenReach modem has 3 solid green lights, but my 'b' on my HH3 is constantly flashing Orange. 
    I've Reset my modem, losing all my settings and forwarded ports, switched both devices off for over an hour, but yet the problem persists.
    Totally screwed HH3?
    Phoned BT and was told to go through the rigmaroll again - so I did. Same result.
    The Call centre had no idea and have escalated the issue, still leaving me without any connection. 
    I'm using 3G tethered to my PC to get online at the moment. 
    Is there anything else I can try to get back online or do I just have to wait for an engineer to be scheduled?

    plug the modem into your pc and set up a pppoe connection
    if it connects then the router is faulty
    if not then you need an engineer

    I have been unable to watch HD Channels 603 (MSNBC) 628 (HISTORY) 631 (VELOCITY) 680 (SYFY) for almost 10 days. What's going on ? All SD Channels are working. Anybody have an answer.

    What error message are you getting?

  • NO internet since Midnight Saturday, we're told there's still "outage in area"

    Help PLEASE!!  We lost internet around 1AM Saturday 7/18/15, and I called customer service late that morning and was told restoration would be by 8:30PM that evening.  Sunday morning, still nothing.  Was told the outage would be resolved by 8:30PM that evening.  Still nothing.  Day three, and when my husband called he spoke to someone who could barely speak English.  She would not answer his question as to whether there was still an outage in our area.  Our internet has always had issues, but this is ridiculous.

    - check with a neighbor who also has AT&T internet to see if they're affected...- keep calling just as you have- any AT&T trucks in your area you can check with?

  • DSL down for 3 days... Richmond VA area

    We frequently have issues with our Verizon DSL. Constant disconnects, sometimes up to 15 times in a day. Now it just plain doesn't work at all. The DSL light on our modem has been solid green for 3 days, but no Internet light. We have tried 3 different modems, all with the same results. We called tech support yesterday and the nice Indian man told us it was a problem with the central office and to just be patient. When we asked if he had any information regarding a timeframe when it might get fixed he said he did not.<br><br>We have had technicians come out to the house numerous times in the past for DSL issues, only to say &quot;I can't find any problems, here's a new modem to try&quot; and the connection issues still persist. We currently pay for both a DSL connection and a dial-up service just so we have something to fall back on temporarily when our DSL inevitably craps out.<br><br>This is a bit ridiculous to me. Why should we have to pay extra for dial-up just to insure we can use the internet because your DSL service is so unreliable? Why pay for something that hardly ever works at all? Because you're the only high-speed option in our area besides DirecTV's satellite Internet service, and even their own technicians say it's worse than DSL.<br><br>I can't find anything online stating that there is an outage in our area at the moment. Obviously your residential customers are very low priority since it's been out for 3 days and no one knows when it will possibly be fixed. I can only assume working on the Internet is a 9-5 job with weekends off so we're probably screwed until next week since today is Friday.<br><br>I can promise you when we get a chance to move to an area that provides some other service besides Verizon DSL, we will be switching and never looking back. I have never seen such an unreliable Internet service. Dial-up is much more stable than your DSL, but is not convenient for us since it can only be used by one of us at a time. The AT&amp;T DSL that I had back in California worked more often than not. I cannot say the same for Verizon. It's nothing but a headache and I cannot wait to change services if something else ever becomes available in our area.

    Got a call saying they fixed the problem at the CO and our Internet should be working again. Surprise, it's not. What a joke.

  • Internet outage at 3:30 PM

    I don't appreciate that there was a 3G outage in my area (48073) at around 3:30 PM today. I pay over $80 every month for the use of this phone and modem and need them available at a moment's notice. The paying public simply should not be expected to put up with outages and problems.

    Can you name for me any service (free or paid) that gaurentees 100% uptime?  It's simply not possible, there are way too many factors involved.
    You can rest assured that is not Verizon's goal to deny anyone access to their services.  Outages happen, if you absolutely must have 100% uptime on your communication methods, you're going to want to invest in some kind of reliable back-up service for the times when one of your providers fails you.
