Outlier removal in oracle 10g
I am working on oracle 10g database. Is there any function or procedure in oracle 10g database to remove the outliers from a given dataset?
The package dbms_data_mining_transform (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/d_dmtran.htm#i1013223) has a couple of procedures to help with outlier treatment:
CREATE_CLIP
INSERT_CLIP_TRIM_TAIL
INSERT_CLIP_WINSOR_TAIL
XFORM_CLIP
These procedures support treatment of univariate outliers. The anomaly detection feature in Oracle Data Mining supports multivariate outlier detection and thus can be used to remove outliers.

Hi,
I am working in Oracle migration from 8 to 10g.
I have a procedure that remove all the jobs named as <job name>.It works in Oracle 8 but does not remove any job in Oracle 10g
The command is dbms_job.remove(i.job);
Any suggestion???You can remove a job from the database by issuing a DROP_JOB statement, as in the following:
BEGIN
DBMS_SCHEDULER.DROP_JOB (
job_name => 'my_job1');
END;
and aslo you can use this
exec dbms_job.remove(24) ;

How can i remove manually oracle 10g express edition from vista
hello
i use windows vista
how can i remove manually oracle 10 g express edition
please help1. Uninstall all Oracle components using the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI).
2. Delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE key which contains registry entries for all Oracle products by using regedit.
3. Delete any references to Oracle services/components in the following registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/. Looks for key entries that starts with “Ora” which are obviously related to Oracle.
4. Reboot the workstation.
5. Delete the ORACLE_BASE directory. (i.e C:\Oracle)
6. Delete the C:\Program Files\Oracle directory.
7. Empty the temp directory.
8. Empty the recycle bin.
have you done this? -
Hi, I'm currently running Oracle 10g with multiple databases in it. Two are old and useless to us.
I'm having trouble removing the two databases because I do not know the login/password.
Any easy way to remove them?Well, you need to delete the following files.
Key Files
- Datafiles
- Control Files
- Redo log files
Non-Key Files
- Archive log (if exists)
- Pfile (or spfile)
- password file
and
- files from bdump
- files from cdump
- files from udump
Having said you must login to database to find out the correct key-files since you mentioned you are running multiple databases.
Try to create a new password file and login into the database before you try to to it the hard way.
Thanks,
Ankit. -
Oracle Services are not removed from system (10g, on Windows 2003)
Hi,
I haven't used Oracle on Windows Os before and not sure what to do.
Here is what happened
1- I installed 10g on windows 2003 server, created a database with service name OPER
2- I was unhappy with the installation and removed it.
3- then I installed Oracle 10g software again, creating a database again which has name IZROPER
now, there are two of every oracle service in the services.msci
service names containing the first db's (OPER) are still showing up in services, how can I remove them?
ORACLEDBCONSOLEoper
OracleJobSchedulerOper
OracleServiceOper
etc..start -- run -- > regedit
In regedit mode --> HKLM -> SYSTEM -- currentcontrol set --> services --> here Oracle services are avilable , you can delete from here. -

Netweaver 2004s installation problem on Windows: Oracle 10G
Hi Friends,
I would like to install Netweaver 2004S(with usage types AS ABAP, AS JAVA, BI, BI JAVA, EP & DI) on a server which has Windows 2003 server OS running on it.
The server has 6GB RAM and has 5GB of free space on C: and a free sapce of 60GB on H: & 50GB on I: respectively.The database that is to be used is Oracle 10g.
Do I need to install first SAP solution manger 4.0 on this or Can i proceed with Netweaver 2004 S installation???
I am installing a central system.
First I tried installing SAP solution manger 4.0 on this system and it went successfully. Now when i am installing Netweaver 2004s on the same machine, during installation I am asked whether to "install a MCOD or create a new database for this installation".
I chose Install MCOD and proceeded further with Installation. But my installation is taking a lot of time while executing the service :"Creating database schema". The message which i get on status bar is " Removing schema user SAPSR3" and the status remains the same.
Have any of you faced this problem ? Please let me know how you have proceeded further.
Before starting the installation one of the prerequisites " SWAP SPACE VALUES" for installation was not satisfied by my system and even then i proceeded with the installation.
Is it because of this SWAP space problem , my intsallation is strcuk?? or what could be the reason fo this?
Thanks
DiwakarHello Diwakar,
If you are just installing NW2004s then it is not mandatory to install Solution manager.
To increase the swap space --
Right click my on computer ->Select Properties -> Click Advanced Tab ->Click Settings (performance) -> Select Advanced Tab -> In virtual memory -> Change
you canIncrease swap space/page file here.
Do not install the system as MCOD, make the seperate database.
Do revert for further doubt.
Best Regards,
Sachin. -
ORA-03106 Error when connecting to Oracle 10g from Forms 6i
I have migrated my database from Oracle 8.0.5 to Oracle 10g, version 10.0.1.0.3 through import-export utility. During migration, one difference I made was to change the NLS_LANG to UTF8 from ANSI.
The NLS_LANG for client is AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE81S08859P1.
I am using HP ML370 Proliant Server and running Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS version 3 with Oracle 10g
My client-server application is based on Oracle Developer version 2.1. I am using forms 5.0 and reports 3.0 only.
The problem with me is that the client-server application is working against the upgraded database, but with greatly downgraded speed. The .fmb files cannot be compiled, however some of the .rdf files are compiled successfully, but remaining not.
My question is that is Developer 2000 (Forms 5.0.6 and Reports 3.0.5) compatable with Oracle 10 database, as my application is running very slow ?
I tried Forms 6i to remove this problem. I used Forms Developer 6i Recut version and successfully installed on Windows XP, however, when try to create connection using Net 8 Easy Utility, the connection does not establish with following error:
ORA-03106 : fatal two-task communication protocol error
The entry has been checked in tnsnames.ora and is found correct. I also tried connecting through SQL, but the application closes.
The patch set 17 for installation on Windows XP has also been applied, but still the same error persits.
The same installation has also been checked on Windows 2000, but the same problem persists.
I would be thankful if any one provide me solution for the same. Where I am mistaken and what do I do to get out of this problem.
Regards
Naveen.Naveen,
Forms 5.0 is not certified and not tested with Oracle DB 10g because it was desupported before 10g got released.
The other problem is hard to give a generic answer for and I suggest to address this to metalink.oracle.com

Hanging with Oracle 10g release 2 on Windows XP !!!
Hi,
I am trying to Install Oracle 10g release 2(10.2.0.1.0) on Windows XP Professional(SP2).
Existing environment:
1. Java(SDK & Runtime Environment) 6 update 1.
2. Configured Eclipse.
The installed procedure:
1. Downloaded "10201_database_win32.zip" from Oracle website.
2. Unzip it and run setup.exe
3. It gives an error like below :
"javaw.exe - Entry Point Not Found"
"The procedure entry point longjmp could not be located in the dynnamik link library orauts.dll."
Installation completed(forcefully) without the below.
1. Oracle Net Configuration Assistant (Failed)
2. Oracle Database Configuration Assistant (Failed).
and in services: "No Oracle process exist".
I tried the below:
A. Change the environment variables (remove ORACLE_HOME/ORACLE_SID etc)
B. 2 to 5 times un-install oracle(including registry, directory etc) and install.
C. Uninstall Java SDK & Runtime Env. Then install Oracle.
D. Installing Personal edition, Enterprise edition etc etc.
E. Checked the orauts.dll in 3 places(i. BIN ii. out/bin iii. oui/lib/win32
F. Copied the orauts.dll to system32 directory.
What ever I do the above appers all the time and installation is incomplete.
Due to this problem I couldn't move further, please do help me in solving this.
Thanks a lot in advance.Hey Guys,
I am Srinivas Here who had been trying to install Oracle Database 10G on Windows X86 on Windows XP Professional.
If you have Win-XP Professional as your Operating System. Do not download the oracle Database using windows - XP Professional because XP will block certain installation files while downloading. In your machine install Windows 2000 or any other Windows version as a dual boot. First the download Database Zip files using your other version of Windows Operating system and then when you Unzip the files it will create a folder called Database and all the files will be present in it.If you want to store the same to cd for having to install the 10G Rel 2 database through CD then copy the contents of the unzipped database folder and store only the contents of the database folder and write them to CD's. Please see to it that while writing on cd's do not copy the folder itself .
After this, restart the system and get into windows XP Professional (Your XP Professional should be with Service Pack 2 in order to install 10G Database on windows XP - The Basic requirements for Oracle Database 10G on Windows X86).
I request you to check the software and hardware requirements from oracle Documents before you install the Oracle Database 10G on Windows x86 as well as Oracle Database 10G on Linux X86 or any other operating systems.
Finally, After you run the Oracle Universal installer in the last you will get messages for all products installed Success and finally it will ask the password for DBA and open the password management and give the password and reenter password and on the left you will have to unlock the items you would like to use.
In the last it will give you various URL links for Isqlplus, DBA, Enterprise Manager and a log report stored into oracle directory stored in your C:\Program files\Oracle folders. The correct link will be given at the end and you will have to watch the installation carefully.You can find DBCA and other options working. Try login in to Oracle through Command prompt, Sqlplus prompt availabe in Start ->Programs->Orahome10G->application Development-sqlplus as well as login through isqlplus link- Before this you should login at the command prompt as SYSDBA. YOU CAN SEE THAT YOUR DATABASE IS NOW WORKING IN WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL.
THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ALL FORUM MEMBERS WHO GAVE ME IDEA AND SUPPORT

Apex 3.1.2 installation on Oracle 10g Standard Edition (10gSE)
Hi..We're trying to install apex 3.1.2 on 10gSE (No application server 10gAS is available but just the database).
Can it be installed with the embedded plsql gateway (EPG) option?
or
Oracle HTTP Server mod_plsql option?
Currently there's Apache webserver already running on the box with PHP applications running. Want to make sure that apex/http-server install will not corrupt the existing environment.
Please provide any pointers/references. IF YOU CAN OFFER PHONE SUPPORT FOR 1-2 HOURS, YOUR TIME IS Sincerely APPRECIATED. PLEASE EMAIL: [email protected] For Direct contact. Also, I may need help to solve some apex screen issues.
* Removing the tagging with $ compensation on the post..Apex Community as in the past has been extremely helpful in solving many great apex challenges. Thanks for the continued support. *

Edited by: Shravanv on Feb 18, 2010 4:11 PM1- Here is what I mean, the oracle website is showing Web Logic in the download page of oracle application server:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/index.html
Is there a separate download link for Oracle Application Server, if it's different from the web logic server?
2- I Installed HTML_DB which is found in the Oracle 10g companion CD, I think I installed the HTTP Server with it, but now I want to install APEX 3.1.2 which I downloaded separately, if I uninstalled the HTML_DB using Oracle Universal Installer, will it remove the HTTP Server as well? since it lists the HTML_DB only as being installed without listing the HTTP Server separetly.

Integration b/w uccx7.0 and oracle 10g
hi,
currently i am doing integration b/w uccx7.0 and oracle 10g. i have installed the oracle client 10g . and i added the DSN in ODBC and also the test connection is succesful.. but when i mention the DSN in app admin page (Subsytem> Database). it is showing me error that some of the information is incorrect for the connection. and is not allowing me to add DSN in appadmin page of uccx 7.0.. even though i am using the same information in sqlplus to query the database from ipccx. Do i need to mention sth to make it work.
Regards
NarehHi there
A few things you have to watch out for.
Firstly if you have create the DSN and able to connect to it via the ODBC its more likely that the driver was not loaded correctly.
- Remove the Driver and DNS
- Install the driver again and create the DSN and test if it works
- Reload the whole windows <----- was working on a case for 3 hours UCCX just wasn't loading the new 10g drivers reload fixed this
Now create the database connection and test.
Should this not work you can try the following:

Problem calling a form from another form in oracle 10g
hi,
i have created A basic STUDENT form with all fields and the STUDENT/COURSES master/detail form .
I am trying to place to button on the STUDENT form that when pressed, will call the STUDENT/COURSES form and automatically query the COURSES for the employee being viewed on the STUDENT form.
here is the code i used
DECLARE
pl_id ParamList;
BEGIN
pl_id := Get_Parameter_List('tmpdata');
IF NOT Id_Null(pl_id) then
Destroy_Parameter_list (pl_id);
end if;
pl_id := create_parameter_list ('tmpdata');
add_parameter (pl_id, 'students_id',text_parameter, :s_id);
run_product (forms, 'C:resubmission\stucourse.fmb', synchronous, runtime,
filesystem, pl_id, null);
end;
although it successfully compiled,
when i press the button on the form it is giving me
frm-92101 : there was a failure in the forms sever during start up...
i have tried everything i can think off, am fairly new to this
please any assistance will be appreciated. am using oracle 10g
thanks in advance.Ammad is right, in order to pass a parameter to another Form, the Form you call must have a corresponding parameter. In other words, if you go to the Parameters node of the Object Navigator you need to add a parameter called "STUDENTID" and set the data type and precision of the parameter to match the data you will pass to this parameter.
Once you have this parameter in your called form, you will have to write code in the called form to use the value of the parameter. This code is typically in the When-New-Form-Instance (WNFI) trigger, but that all depends on your requirements. In your example, this seems the appropriate trigger as your intent is to pass the Student ID and query any Courses the Student is enrolled in. Your WNFI trigger needs to check if there is a value in the Student_ID parameter and then set the default where clause of your COURSES datablock and execute a query on the block. For example:
/* Sample WNFI trigger */
/* This example "ASSUMES" your courses block is called COURSES */
BEGIN
IF ( :parameter.STUDENT_ID IS NOT NULL ) THEN
Set_Block_Property('COURSES', OneTime_W.here, 'STUDENT_ID = :Parameter.Student_ID');
Execute_Query;
END IF;
END;
Note: I had to put a period into the "OneTimeW.here" statement in order to get the Editor to accept my post. Please remove the period if you use this sample code.
Hope this helps,
