Outlook 2007 email rule

have a batch file that contains this command below
Powershell.exe Send-MailMessage -from [email protected] -to [email protected] -subject new message in mailbox [email protected] -smtpserve test-relay
Next I created a outlook 2007 rule that says any incoming emails that come into the mailbox test.iit.com run the script above so it sends from
[email protected] so that the person goes and check the test mailbox as there is a new message that needs to be read and replied to.
When I created the rule to run an application called email.bat, when I send one test message to
[email protected] it will continuously run the batch file and filling up david bubba email inbox until I disable the rule. How can I set it up so it only runs the batch file once for each new message that comes
into the mailbox using an outlook 2007 rule.

Hi,
Please try running Outlook with the switch "/cleanrules", which will start Outlook and delete client-based and server-based rules:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /cleanrules” in the blank box, then press Enter.
I strongly recommend you export the rules before you run the switch for backup:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/outlook-help/import-or-export-a-set-of-rules-HP010096703.aspx
Then let's create the rule to run the script again, check if this time it works well.
Thanks,
Melon Chen

  • Can't sync BB Curbe 8310 to Outlook 2007 email

Hi!!  I'm a bit nervous.  I'm a newbie, so please forgive my ignorance on this subject:
A couple of weeks ago, (before I got my BB), I synced up my Yahoo Mail Plus account with Outlook 2007.  Since then, I've been working on organizing my mail, through Outlook.
Last evening, I was able to sync my Outlook 2007 calendar, address book and tasks with my BB.  Sadly, I couldn't sync up the BB with the Outlook 2007 emails.
I'm not accessing my info through work.  So, I guess that means it's not a BES, but a BIS??
I'm enjoying Outlook and would like to be able to continue to use it.  It's nice to have everything in one place.
Any way that I can continue doing what I'm doing?
    Thank you!!
    Bonnie

as far as email is concerned, you can't do anything after the mail is received.
but you can use a BIS synchronization between your email server (pop, imap or GMail) and your BlackBerry device. This synchronization will happen "over the air" meaning through the mobile phone network (EDGE, 3G or CDMA) and does not require you to have a computer.
Check your carrier BIS page and configure your BIS account.

  • Adobe Reader X printing Outlook 2007 email attachments

In previous versions of Adobe Reader, in Outlook 2007, my end users could highlight an email click on File/Print, check the box to "Print attached files", and the email and ALL the pdf attachments would print perfectly.
Now, in Reader X, it will print the email and only ONE of the attachments.  Then an adobe recent documents window appears and a error saying "document could not be found" for all other attachments.
If I actually open the email and run thru the same steps, everything prints.  However, this is not productive.  End users need to be able to hit the quick print button while the email is highlighted and have everything print out in one motion.
They do not have time to close each error window, and the recent window.  Nor do they want to have to open each email in order to get things to print properly.
I found the link to the Acrobat Ninja where a registry hack is given to remove the Welcome screen, but that doesn't help with this problem.  And this is a BIG problem.
Does anyone have a trick, hack or suggestion to workaround this problem?  Is there an update or patch?

    Hi all,
I found a workaround the problem I was describing.
Apparently Adobe has implemented something called Protection Mode
for a description see this link :
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/860/cpsid_86063.html
The workaround (I call it a workaround because you have to disable this new Security measure)
is to do the following: Open Adobe Reader X --> Go to Edit --> Preferences in the menu  --> General --> un-check "Enable Protected Mode at Startup"
Then you will have to click Continue and restart Adobe Reader for the change to take place.
Now this is only a workaround as it disables all of the new Protected Mode security features so please keep that in mind.
Hopefully adobe will address the Outlook integration piece so that the Printing script will be allowed to open and close Adobe like in un-protected mode...
Hope this helps others who have been searching for a workaround...
    Kevin.

  • Converting Outlook 2007 email to PDF; Have to reboot PC to convert multiple times

I have an end user who converts multiple emails to PDF for filing purposes. Adobe converts multiple emails in a portfolio style. Email can be seen as in a file at the top and seen seperately ebelow. After 2-3 times Adobe won't convert to portfolio format, won't give error message, but will convert all selected email as one large PDF. Until user reboots machine, portfolios can't be created.  Tried on two different machines same issue. Using Adobe 9 Pro and Outlook 2007.

Is Acrobat updated to 9.5.2?  What SP do you have installed for Office 2007?  What version of Windows (with SP) is running on these computers?

  • Importing Windows Outlook 2007 email to Mac Mail using Thunderbird Workaround Looses Some Messages

After being away from using a Mac for 5 years I'm back with an iMac.
I found this workaround to import Outook 2007 emails to Mac Mail using Thunderbird on the PC http://www.trickyways.com/2010/08/how-to-transfer-emails-from-outlook-to-apple-m ail/
On the PC Thunderbird imports all my Outlook messages correctly and all are there.
Then when I import the resulting Thunderbird mailboxes to Mac Mail some messages are being lost. The directory structure for my mail folders imports correctly, just that some messages are missing.
There are earlier posts here saying Eudora Mailbox Cleaner worked for people but this wont run on Mountain Lion.
So has anybody got any ideas on how the get  all my Outlook e-mails to the Mac without losing anything?
What about software like Outlook2Mac, does it work fully or will I still have the same issue of some lost mail?
Can't believe I am having this problem migrating Window to Mac, you'd think it would work perfectly and not put people off from switching.
    Cheers.

Okay I slept on it and had a brain wave.
I set up iCloud Mail on Outlook 2007. Then copy messages from my Outlook Inbox to iCloud Inbox.
On the Mac copy the messages from iCloud Inbox to a folder On My Mac so they never get lost if I delete the iCloud account.
Playing about with it and it seems to work fine. Any reason why it could cause issues?
I love it when a workaround comes together!

  • How to get outlook 2007 email on iphone 3g

Please help!! My company uses Outlook 2007 for their corporate email, and I can't figure out how to get it on my iphone. Any ideas??

Your company uses Outlook 2007 as their email client for accessing the company email account.
Does your company provide an Exchange account, an IMAP account, or a POP account?
If an Exchange Account, your company must enable ActiveSync at the Exchange Server in order for your to access the Exchange account via ActiveSync with the iPhone's mail client - which provides for Push access with the email account, and over the air syncing for contact info and calendar events with your online address book and calendar at the Exchange Server.
You can access an Exchange account as an IMAP account with the iPhone's mail client if IMAP account access is enabled for your Exchange account at the incoming mail server.
Regardless, best to contact your company IT department about the required account email account settings for accessing your account with the iPhone's mail client.

  • Pictures no longer appear in Outlook 2007 emails just shows a red X, I have 3.6.3 Firefox and Windows Vista.

I have Firefox 3.6.3, Outlook 2007 and MS Vista. A few days ago I noticed that images would no longer appear in email message, even after I click "Download images". I have tried all settings related to this in Tools/Options with no luck. This is no just happening to new messages but to all messages in Outlook, no pics will display...I just see a red "X" in a square box.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== A few days ago...I have recently upgraded to 3.6.3

I know Firefox is a browser, but when I upgraded to 3.6.3 I suddenly lost images in Outlook, could the upgrade be the issue. I was forced to kill an add-on DNA 1.0.0.01, does this affect anything? All relevant and obvious settings in Outlook and Firefox are set correctly (Tools/Options/Load Images Automatically is checked in Firefox for example), but no pics. I have seen other threads online from 2007 on with this issue mentioned but still no solution that has worked for me, from either the FF side or Outlook side.

  • Outlook 2007 email problem

I've got lots of old emails from 2005 through 2014 on my Comcast server, in various folders such as "sent" and other named folders there.  I can't download any of those emails into my Outlook 2007 program on my desktop computer, where I keep all my other old emails stored essentially forever.  Does anyone know how to get those emails (presently "trapped" on the Comcast server) downloaded?    I have successfully "moved" some other more recent emails from my Comcast "sent" folder to my Comcast "inbox" folder, and then those have automatically been downloaded to my Outlook folder; however, this process does not work with those older email files.   Any ideas, anyone?  Thanks!

You cannot move FOLDERS from Xfinity Connect, but you can move the emails themselves.  The directions are below.
Are you currently using POP for your other email programs or devices?  If you are, I would recommend that you switch to the IMAP server.  With Imap, you can have emails sent to specific Folders, say, in Outlook, that you create there, and set the email program to save copies of emails on the Comcast server.
    Settings for IMAP are:
    Server name: IMAP.comcast.net
    Port 993 with SSL on
    Outgoing Server remains: SMTP.comcast.net
Port remains 465 with SSL on
This server requires authentication must be checked too.
I strongly suggest that you save important email in an email program, not on the Comcast server.
Moving email from Comcast's webmail (aka Xfinify Connect) to your computer.
People want to do this for a variety of reasons, the main ones being to backup the email, or to get local copies prior to switching ISPs.
    Notes
You have to do this with an email client (like Outlook Express, Outlook, Windows Mail, Thunderbird, etc.).
You can only do this via POP3, and POP3 can only download email that's in the webmail Inbox.
IMPORTANT The default behavior of almost all POP3 email clients is to delete messages after downloading them. If you want copies of your email to still be available via webmail you have to configure the email client to "leave messages on server".
Different email clients have different ways of storing email. Although it's generally possible to export/import the various formats from client to client, viewing the downloaded email conveniently will always require using an email client.
    Setup
Empty out the Inboxes of both webmail (unless you're only interested in what's in the webmail Inbox) and the email client. Create Temp folders and move messages in the Inbox to the Temp folder if necessary.
Create folders in the email client that correspond to the webmail folders.
Email client config: port 995, SSL, Leave messages on server; detailed configuration steps for some common email clients can be found here: http://forums.comcast.com/t5/E-Mail-and-Xfinity-Connect-Help/E-Mail-Client-Settings-customer-generated/td-p/778889 . That doesn't address the "Leave messages on server" aspect. Best bet there is to Google on "'your email software' 'version number' + leave messages on server" (without the single or double quotes).
    How to do it
Move a folder's worth of messages into the webmail Inbox.
    Download via email client
Move messages in the client Inbox to the appropriate folder (should be as simple as CTRL-A > Move)
Move messages in the webmail Inbox back to where they were.
Move another folder's worth of messages into the webmail Inbox.
    Etc.

  • Problem converting Outlook 2007 email to PDF

We have a new problem that recently appeared.  Sometimes when we click on the Adobe PDF tab in Outlook 2007 and select "Convert to Adobe PDF", when we go to open the resulting pdf file, we get the following message "Multiple Files are Bound together in the PDF Package....".  This occurs in Adobe 8.1. Sometimes we don't get the message but when we go to open the file again, we get the message.  We have checked and we have the most current update to Adobe 8.1.  Any ideas what could be causing this behaviour and what can be done to fix it?

    Hi "sjohnstoncpa",
Please clarify the steps you can replicate the problem with. Plus, it would be really nice if you could post a snapshot of the error message. Thanks!

  • Outlook 2007 Email Sync Not Deleting Messages

Can someone help me understand how sync is 'supposed' to work? I access my POP emails and I understand that the iPhone does not delete the emails from the server. I wish they would fix that since I'm choosing the option to 'Delete from server'. However, if I delete the messages in Outlook and then perform a sync, the emails show up as new unread emails on the iphone. WHAT IS HAPPENING?? This is extremely frustrating since it seems that common sense indicates 'sync' would do just that?
If someone has figured out how to fix this, please email me at [email protected] Thanks in advance.

With a POP account, the iPhone's mail client can delete messages from the server when downloaded with the following settings available by account.
    Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select the POP account.
Select Advanced for the account settings.
Under Incoming Settings at Delete from Server, the options are:
    Never
    Seven Days
    When removed from Inbox
The iPhone sync process with iTunes does not sync account mailboxes and messages.
Although a POP account can be accessed with more than one email client, it is designed to be accessed with a single email client only.
If you want the same new messages that are received at the incoming mail server server available with both Outlook and with the iPhone's mail client, you need to select Never for remove messages from the server with the account settings with Outlook, and with the iPhone's mail client.
When accessing an email account with multiple email clients, an IMAP account is preferable since all server stored mailboxes for the account are kept synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account.
Unless you aren't concerned about receiving spam at your Gmail address, you should never provide your email address out in the open at a public forum such as this.

  • Outlook 2007 Email Signature Settings Getting Lost

I have a strange case where a user is complaining about the setting for email signature being lost every day upon his login. Each time he must go into settings and choose the signature from the list for both, new mails and replies. The setting
will be kept for the whole day, but next morning he starts his computer and Outlook this setting is gone.
I know that Outlook looks for signatures in the following path: C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Microsoft\Roaming\Signatures and these files are in place, but the setting in Outlook is missing after each logon.
Hope somebody have an idea :)
    Thank you
    Eduard

    Hi,
Please follow the steps below to modify the registry for Outlook signatures to see the result:
    1. Close Outlook.
    2. Delete the First-Run value under the following key in the Windows registry:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Setup
    3. Create or locate the following key in the registry:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\MailSettings
    or
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\MailSettings
    4. Create the following value(s) under the MailSettings registry key:
    Name: NewSignature
    Type: REG_EXPAND_SZ
Value: The name of signature to use for new messages
    Name: ReplySignature
    Type: REG_EXPAND_SZ
Value: The name of signature to use for reply messages
    5. Start Outlook and open a new e-mail message.
Please let me know the result.

  • Is there a quick way in Outlook 2007 (using Acrobat Pro X) to change the setting for including/excluding attachments when exporting email ?

I have to export Outlook 2007 email a hundred times a day. Most of the time I do not want the attachments included with the email because I have to save them off to various directories and do not want or need to double up the storage space. However, every couple days, there is an email that I have to save with the attachments. So I have to go into the Adobe settings, change to include attachments. Save the email. Go back into settings, change it back to not include the attachments.
Is there a way - shortcut key, ctrl-alt combinataion, something, that will allow me to save that one email every couple days with attachments without having to go into the settings?
I am using Outlook 2007 with Adobe Acrobat Pro X on a Windows 7 PC.
    Thanks,

    Hi Slowtorque,
There isn't a shortcut but you can use the options in conversion settings to toggle whether to include attachments or not:

  • Importing Outlook 2007 (Windows) emails

Is it possible to import Outlook 2007 emails (plus tree structure) into iPad 3 and if so how is this done?

NOt sure about the structure, but you interface with outlook through iTunes. Connect your device to your computer then open iTunes on the computer. Select your device and navigate to the 'info' tab. Scroll down and you'll see the  option to sync your ipad contacts and mail with outlook.
You may have to play with the settings but that's where you start.
