  • Why does my iPad keeps connecting and disconnecting from the new late 2013 iMac

    Hi there,
I've recently bought a new late 2013 iMac and ever since then I'm not able to connect my iPad 2 to it. When I do connect it keeps connecting and disconnecting  again and again for some reason. The cable is fine and I've tried it with other devices. Just wondered why this is and whether you guys can help me out.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
I had the same problem and just found a solution. I tryed restoring all content and settings on the iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings). It took lots of time, however it didn´t work because when I connected the iPad and iMac the problem persisted.
Then I thought it wasn´t an iPad problem but iMac OSX problem. So I searched the web for "Reinstall Mavericks" and found this http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13871?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US.
It also takes like 6 hours with my internet speed. Next day I connected the iPad and everything is just fine.
I described both processes because I don´t know if in the end the iPad reset helped in the solution.
    Hope that helps! good luck

  • IPhone 4s keeps connecting and disconnecting from my new Macbook Air 2013

Ok I've been having this problem, I recently got an 11 inch Macbook Air 2013 and after I try connecting my iPhone 4s it keeps connecting and disconnecting every 1-2 seconds. I already check the community, I know this subject has been asked many times. Nothing worked out though. My cable cord must be fine because it works perfectly on my PC. I updated the OS and iOS to their latest firmware and still nothing. Whenever I try opening iTunes I get this message saying " iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. This device is no longer connected. " Please if anyone fixed this issue I would appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

I just solved it, I hope this helps everyone who is experiencing the same problem. Apparently the iPhone seems to charge normally and connect to iTunes if the iPhone battery is over 60%-70%. This must be a power issue the MBA has.

  • My ipod keeps connecting and disconnecting from the computer

I've tried everything, first my ipod kept displaying the folder with the exclamation mark, then a couple of days ago started working again. It then wouldn't play any songs and just kept skipping. So I plugged it into my computer to restore it so I could start again. Now its displaying the folder with the symbol again, and just keeps connecting and disconnecting all the time so I can't do anything to it. Keep trying the ipod updater but says it cant mount ipod.
    Any ideas????

    Hello all,
I've been experiencing the same problem, but have managed to get it sorted.... well sort of.
As Jen's problem, I had the exclamation mark and after unsuccessfully trying to update etc decided to leave it out of frustration.
A day or so later it started to work again, great!!!
A few days of problem free use then I got the sad Ipod screen.
After checking the website I've restored and I'm now a week later and still trying to get my music from Itunes onto my Ipod.
The problem now, once again very similar to Jen's is that my Ipod only seems to connect to my PC for period of time and then disconnects, sometimes updating a few songs.
I get different 'Unknown Error' messages usually -124.
I've tried with both USB and Firewire connections and even when my Ipod disconnects it still charges, so it's not the port at fault.
Can't help but think it's the actual Ipod which is causing me this hassle and musicless journeys!!!
    Any ideas?

  • Android / USB devices keep connecting and disconnecting on R7

My daughter has an R7, and she is having a weird problem with the USB ports on it.No android device can stay connected. As soon as you plug it, it makes the connect sound then the disconnect sound and keeps cycling between connecting and disconnecting. It is not related to the device as I have tried two different phones and one tablet all with different cables, all work fine on other computers. And I tried on the three available USB ports of the laptop, all behave the same. Searching online I found a lot of people with similar issues mostly unresolved. I did disable the USB suspend option in the power options without any results, as well as uninstall all USB hub so they would be reinstalled at boot time, and installed all optional windows updates. She is also experiencing another issue on her USB ports, we have a Samsung slim external DVD player that uses a Y USB cable for data and power that also works fine on any other machine. On her R7, when playing a Video, the video keeps making blocks at regular intervals like something is preventing the full data stream. Wondering if this is related. Apart from that, USB mouse, USB keys or external USB drives appear to work fine. Anyone with a similar issue and a definitive fix?

Thanks, but I seem to have found a solution to both issues. 1) Regarding the android devices that kept disconnecting and reconnecting, after readiong this threadhttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2900614 I checked what registry keys were present on my wife's surface pro3 for
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_XXXX&PID_XXXX\YYYY\Device Parameters and found that there was three DWORD values in there that were not present on the R7SelectiveSuspendEnabled
    EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled
DeviceSelectiveSuspended So I added these 3 DWORD and set them all to zero, and the issue is gone. You may not need the three of them, but I have not tested them one at a time yet. 2) For the External DVD blocky playback, it turned out to be quite trivial. Someone had enabled hardware acceleration in the VLC player settings. I reset all the VLC settings, and it worked fine from there. Hope this can help others

  • USB key keep connecting and disconnecting

    Hello,
    I've recently bought a Satellite L655D-12P computer and I have a Sony USB key ( USM8GL).
The issue is that my key connects itself to the PC, then disconnects, reconnects etc... and keep doing the same thing indefinitely every 5 seconds.
I don't understand why the 2 medias don't work properly. They seem to work well independently:
    - My USB key (USM8GL) work well on XP, Vista and other 7 that mine
    - My sister have the same model of USB key (USM8GL) and it's the same issue. Good for XP, Vista and other 7 that mine.
    - I've another key (Sony Microvault 4 Go) which works good on my PC (and others of course).
It seems that something's wrong. Maybe a program that is not activated.
I've of course looked a little on the internet but I didn't find anything.
Once, I succeded to make work the both media together. I succeeded to change the letter of the key in the 'Computer' (H: --> L: for example). I had to do it very quiclky because the key keeps connecting and deconnecting every 5 seconds.
But I don't know why, it stopped working after about 10 tries.
So, of course, I would like that you help me. What can I do to fix this problem? That's really annoying...
    Thanks

In my opinion there is not much you can do about it. Either it works or not.
Fact is that there is no special driver you need for it.
Try to connect other USB sticks for testing. Check it with SanDisK. It is the best and really high quality product. I am 100% sure it will work properly.
By the way: does the same happen on all USB ports?

  • IPhone 4s connects and disconnects from Windows 8

Apologies if this has been asked before as i'm sure it has but I can't find a solution.
I have a new HP Compaq laptop using USB 3.0, when I connect my IPhone 4s to my laptop it connects and disconnects every seconds, I've looked in the device manager and can't find anything to do with Apple in there.
Has anyone found a solution to this?

    Hello Aqib2024,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone 4s.  You have taken some really good steps to isolate the issue.  I recommend following the steps in the article below to further isolate and troubleshoot this issue:

  • All iPhones constantly connecting and disconnecting from 2014 MacBook Pro with retina display

So I have an iPhone 6, 4s, and 3gs, whenever I plug any of them into my MacBook pro they rapidly connect and disconnect. After about 20 seconds of doing this they trackpad and keyboard stop responding and won't be recognized until I restart the laptop.
Just as more information I have used 5 or 6 different cables and it works fine with my LG G3 and every other usb device I use. I have iTunes updated to 12.0.1 and OSX updated to 10.10, and this has been happening for about 2 months or so. My iPhone 6 is running 8.1 but did this before, although with the first sync when I first got the phone it worked fine.
    Any information would be helpful
    Thank you

I'm having the exact same issue with the new 2014 iMac 5K Retina i5. iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s both work flawlessly.

  • Outlook 2010 disconnects from Exchange 2013

One of the users running Outlook 2010  (14.0.7108.5000) randomly gets disconnected from her mailbox on Exchange 2013. The disconnect lasts about 5 min and then connection reestablishes. While outlook gets disconnected, computer does not have any problems
accessing any other network resources. Event 25 gets logged on the client when outlook disconnects and states the following. "Network problems are preventing connection to Microsoft Exchange."
Other users in the same mailbox database don't experience or notice the same issue.
The error message states that the mailbox database is offline, but it's probably  misleading as the database remains online and mounted while the disconnect happens. The problems seems to follow the user no matter what mailbox database she is in.
The following information gets logged in exchange RCP Client Access log Listed in chronological order.

After reviewing the entire RCP Client log on the server, I am ruling out the client PC at this moment.
The disconnect seems to be getting triggered by a Healthmailbox  check that starts right before users gets disconnected.
Here is a similar problem with exchange 2010 with no answer.

  • Outlook disconnects from Exchange 2013 several times an hour.

[Edit: I did figure out a little more of the issue. I have figured out that what is causing this is the IIS Application Poll that The Exchange 2013 installer creates by default when installing called "MSExchangeRpcProxyAppPool". The server is recycling
the RPC Application Pool every 20 - 30 minutes or so. I have recycling completely turned off  on this pool yet it still restarts which leads me to believe it may be a code problem since it only should recycle if the poll crashes. Short of a bug in the
code somewhere, I for the life of me can not find why the Application Pool keeps restarting. This is the only pool out of all the ones Exchange created during installation that is recycling constantly. It is frustrating because our Outlook Anywhere clients
keep getting disconnection messages several times an hour because of this. The event logs I listed below are the only event logs I can find that trigger when the pool recycles, so as you can see, they give me no useful information in debugging the
    problem.]
This problem only applies to outlook clients using RPC over HTTP. ActiveSync, OWA and EWS are working fine.
There is a problem with the RPC over HTTP tunnel on our server. Every 20-30 minutes, sometimes more sometimes less, but usually with in that 20-30 minute timeframe, the RPC over HTTP tunnel drops and all Outlook Anywhere clients get immediately disconnected.
IT comes back up very fast and all clients reconnect with in a matter of seconds. Not a huge deal for people using cached mode outlook but all the non-cached mode people (Thin clients are an example are not using cached mode to save diskspace). People using
non-cached mode would get a couple errors pop up and outlook stopped working.
The only relevant entries I have found in the exchange server event log are here. These same grouping of events show up everytime the RPC over HTTP tunnel shuts down and restarts. I just can't figure out why its doing it:
    1-23-2013 9:21:18 AM RPC Proxy 4 (1)
-- RPC Proxy successfully loaded in Internet Information Services (IIS).
    1/23/2013 9:22:41 AM WAS 5138 None
--- A worker process '75832' serving application pool 'MSExchangeRpcProxyAppPool' failed to stop a listener channel for protocol 'http' in the allotted time.  The data field contains the error number.
    1/23/2013 9:22:41 AM WAS 5013 None
--- A process serving application pool 'MSExchangeRpcProxyAppPool' exceeded time limits during shut down. The process id was '75832'.
I have been searching for weeks on the problem and all I really have found is that the problem can sometimes be caused by RPC timeouts so I set the RPC timeout on the server to 120 seconds via the registry. That actually helped for about 5 days and then the
problem mysteriously came back and I can not get it to go away even though the registry value is still set to 120 seconds on that RPC time out.
Does anyone else know of any thing else that causes this? Its Exchange 2013 on Server 2012 and is a pretty fresh install. Was setup in mid-December.

  • My ipod nano (6th gen) keeps connecting and disconnecting itself from my computer can anyone help?

I have read numerous posts online about the same problem but can't seem to sort mine out. I've tried changing power leads, restoring back till an older version of itunes, resetting the ipod, restarting my computer and tried every USB port in sight but still nothing.
I have plugged a friends ipod touch into my computer and it connects and appears in itunes fine, but with mine it wont stay connected long enough for me to try and restore anything with it on itunes its literally a 1 second interval between connected and ejecting. I thought maybe it could be the connection terminal on the ipod but i have had it connected to a wall charger and xbox with it staying connected with no problems.
I am running windows vista on the computer and the nano was previously synced to a different itunes could this be the problem and if so how do I go about fixing it??
    Thanks

I too am having this same issue. I connect my iPod nano (6th gen), and it appears for anywhere between 1 to 10 seconds and then automatically ejects.
I'm running a macbook pro with OS X 10.6.8 and the most up to date version of iTunes. The strange thing is that the nano works fine on my old macbook from 2007; which also has the most up to date iTunes but is running OS X 10.5. Another thing is that my iPod touch works just perfectly on my MacBook Pro.
I have read up on a lot of forums, and have found little help for those who are running into this problem on a Mac. The majority of fixes are for PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Ipod Nano 4GB Keeps connecting and disconnecting every few seconds

when i plug the nano into a usb port... it shows up everywhere and then disconnects and then reconnects and keeps doing this, therefore i can update my ipod?
Also... the ipod works fine on the xp pc next door so i have to assume its the USB on my pc.
    Running Windows Vista RC2

My 80 GB iPod Classic is having the same problem -- when I connect it to the computer, it syncs as it should and then when I attempt to disconnect it, it starts syncing again. It does this no matter whether I disconnect through iTunes or through the desktop (i.e., dragging the iPod icon to the dock to eject it). This never happened before a software update last week. I forget the update but it was something to do with the Intel processor, I think. My date and time was also screwed up but when I woke up this morning that was finally ok.

  • Macbook Pro 2011 keeps freezing and disconnecting from internet

Ever since I upgraded to 10.8 Mountain Lion, my macbook has been acting up and its becoming a real big hassle.
The first big issue is it keeps freezing. Everything freezes, the only thing I can do is move my mouse cursor around but I can't open anything, everything just becomes frozen. Whenever this happens I have to hard reset my macbook and turn it on again all the time. This occurs between an hour of use to 3 days of use, its always random.
My 2nd issue is my airport keeps disconnecting, It doesn't show that its disconnected but I can never connect to anything or open any pages on google chrome or safari.
Can anyone figure out whats the source of this issue? I took it into the genius bar and they weren't even sure either, but then again they didn't do a thorough investigation they just quickly looked at it because I was runnnig short on time.

Been having the same problem since I upgraded to Mountain Lion - MBP (2011) crashing at least twice a day. I noticed that it's Chrome that crashes first, so I'm using Safari for now, so lets see if it makes any difference.
