Outlook meeting replicated 50 times and impossible to delete.

Hi,
One of our users is experiencing an issue with the Outlook 2013.
There's a meeting (Lync meeting to be exact) that has shown up, as he says, by itself, and is not possible to be removed.
We have tried to remove it from outlook web app, from outlook 2013 calendar too.
Still not possible.
While removing of course we've used "remove the series" but the meeting quantity doesn't change.
As we try to remove it, the meeting keeps poping out.
User is using Mac computer and we've checked this on Windows machine.
Could you please help us?
That is pretty urgent as it blocks customer calendar from use.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Please check the meeting organizer for this item. Then contact the meeting organizer to cancel the meeting and check whether the items can be removed from Calendar.
If the meeting is created by the problematic user himself\herself, please close Outlook and delete the meeting by using OWA. If it can’t be deleted in OWA, please note the error message.
If it can’t be deleted in OWA, please check whether you can edit the Calendar item in Outlook then delete it from Calendar. In Outlook, delete all items that are in the Deleted Items folder, and then try to delete the meeting request or message. For more
information about other methods, please refer to:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2503266
Additionally, please check whether there is any third-party device used for Calendar syncing and the problematic meeting was created by using this device. If that is the case, please delete the meeting from the device and disable the device to check whether
the meeting is removed in Outlook or not.

  • Remove a meeting on specific time date and subject line

    Hi
I have a situation where a meeting organizer is no longer able to update or cancel a meeting she booked. Some how she also became the participant of the meeting and now has lost control of the actual meeting. Not able to edit or send update. I've exhausted
my efforts in trying to find a solution for this. Doesn't look like there is anyway to get back ownership or transfer it to someone else.
So my next plan is to remove the meeting from everyone's calendar via a script. So my question is, is there a way to remove a meeting from all participants calendar where the date/time and subject line is known. This is to ensure only that meeting is removed
    from the calendar.
or if anyone has some other ideas please do share. I need to somehow send notification of cancellation and remove the meeting from outlook and the organizer has no control anymore.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Per my understanding, you might want to display all the specific documents in a page, they can be filtered by values of a Date and time column.
A possible solution I will provide is that, we can create custom visual web part to display all these documents. In the code behind, run a query with CAML to retrieved all the
documents with the specific date and time, then generate a view of hyperlinks that points to these documents.
In this way, we can combine the filter component with the data display component into one web part, with the help of CAML query and Object Model, it would not be a tough job to
    implement such a solution.
More information about CAML and Object Model:

  • When changing appointment on outlook after time they back on original time and date

I have user that when makes a change to a meeting and sends the update to the recipients, they get the new meeting request and it updates on their calendar with the correct time and date. Then for
a brief time or past  day the senders calendar will show the change then disappear and the original time and date pop back up again on all users get the meeting.
Time zone on all pc's same, date/hour correctly.
    All with windows 7 + Outlook 2010 (+ sp1, full update).
    I have Exchange 2013
any help and tips will be appreciate
    Thank's

    Hi Rdanny,
Do you mean both Organizer and Participants' meeting back on original time and date?
Does the Organizer give others delegation permission?
Does this issue always occur or just once?
How about changing time in OWA? If you didn't try it, please try to change the meeting time in OWA for testing.
If in OWA, this issue disappeared, it seems an issue on the Outlook client side.
I suggest run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
I suggest try to re-create the Organizer's profile to refresh the caches.
Also try to check whether there is any related error message in the App Log.
    Thanks

  • Outlook 2010, new proposed time on meeting not acceptable, buttons grayed out.

Outlook 2010 clients on domain w/ Exchange 2010.  A meeting is scheduled by an organizer, the meeting is read by a client and the client requests a new proposed time.  Once the organizer gets the new proposed time the accept new proposal and view
all proposals is grayed out.    the request response and allow new time proposals is checked, also under calendar options tentative is selected on use this response when proposing new time.
The weird thing is this only happens with a few people and not everyone.  I sent a meeting request to a client and she responded with a new time and i couldnt accept, i then had this same client send a request to another client and it worked fine on
the accept new time.  Ive played out multiple scenarios testing with different people and i cant seem to find any info on this issue.    why??????

    Hi,
Which version of Outlook do those users who encountered this issue use? Can you switch to another computer and then try to reproduce this issue again?
Did those users choose "Tentative and Propose a New Time" or "Decline and Propose a New Time"?
Seems this issue is more related to the recipient side, I'd like to know if it's possible to have some test with one of the recipient who has this problem.
Please feel free to post back and provide more information.

I use an iPhone 5, and want to sync my phone calendar and contacts with Outlook 7 calendar and contacts; two problems--I now get dozens of new calendars every time, and my outlook calendar will not sync at all.; meaning that date entries on Outlook do not come across ot iPhone.

It is unusual for the calendar to sync and not the contacts in Outlook. I've worked with Outlook for years. You didn't answer what computer OS you are using. If it is Windows, have you tried to reset the sync history in iTunes? Do that by opening iTunes, go to Edit>Preferences>Devices and click on reset sync history. If you have done this and it doesn't help, then we can try and run scanpst.exe on your Outlook file and see if there are any errors. Search your computer for that file, however it normally resides in one of the Microsoft Office folders in the folder Program files. After that, you can see if it will sync.

  • I moved about 1,000 messages from inbox to a folder in archives and each message got replicated 22 times!

I dragged and dropped approx 1000 messages from 2013 to a folder called '2013' in Archives and every message replicated 22 times. Now as I try to delete 21 of those messages 210 copies are appearing in trash!
I have compacted folders. I have deleted 'global-messages-db.sqlite' several times to force a re-index. It's still happening - I am drowning in messages!
Running Mac OS X and Thunderbird 31.1.2

An update - I fixed my problem by creating a new folder within Archives, then copying (drag & dropping) one of each of the 22 copy messages. Then when I had completed that, deleting the '2013' folder entirely. This worked where deleting 21 of 22 messages within the 2013 folder didn't.
I suppose the problem was something within that 2013 folder - it would be satisfying to have some idea what that might have been.

  • Is there any way to turn off the ical feature whereby someone emails you a meeting date/time and it automatically goes on your iCal?

Is there any way to turn off the iCal feature whereby when someone emails you a meeting date/time and it automatically appears on your calendar?  Once there they can't even be edited or deleted.

    Greetings,
What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
You should be able to delete events in iCal as long as they are not from a "Subscription" calendar.  Subscriptions show up on the left hand side of iCal under the "Subscription" category if you have any.
You can tell iCal to not check your mail program for invites by going and unchecking the box found in iCal > Preferences > Advanced > "Automatically retrieve..."
    Hope that helps!

  • An error occurred during the Lync meeting when open meeting the first time.

Hello Lync specialists out there! We are running a Lync 2013 standard server in our company together with edge server and reverse proxy for external access. We haven’t taken Lync meetings, because of missing licenses, official in use but
while testing I’m experiencing already a problem. When I schedule a meeting in Outlook and the click the link the Lync 2013 opens a window and wants to connect me to the meeting. Anyways after some period of time I get a message saying: “An error occurred
during the Lync meeting.” Then when I close this window and click the link again in Outlook it works like a charm right away. Is there anything I can do that this will work from the beginning? Also when I then try to open this meeting room several times it
works but e.g. on the next day or after some hours I’ve the same problem again.
Thanks for your great input already.

    Hello,
thanks to Adrian first for informing about the September update. Quite strange that they have released two updates in such a short period of time. The last one was January 2014 and then August and September. Luckily we have just a small

The update is now installed and I would have to monitor the situation the next days.
Holger which settings I should enable in the meeting policy? We have two policies for conferencing at the moment. First one (default) for all users which disables conferencing as we have only standard licenses for them and a policy with

  • MS Outlook Meeting Request

    Hi,
We are developing a control system for automated energy management system. In this system I have to control the electrical equipments of the meeting rooms. The light will be activated upon recieval of meeting request(Vcalendar) through outlook from any of the employee of the organisation. For this I have to extract start time, end time and location from it. How I can proceed?? Pls help!!!!

    Hi
This describes about sending a mail to outlook. But my doubt is to extract data from the calendar.
    Thx

  • Extract time and data with a regular expression

    Hi,
I have a string with time and date in a HTML statement.
    String s =">19:59, 18 August 2006</a> ";
    // I hope get
    String s1="19:59, 18 August 2006";or
String s =">18:37, 4 September 1998</a>"Because of different length of months, so how use regular expression to extract it.
The second question is how to write the string into a file.
    filename =  "A.txt";
                    File file = new File(filename);
              out=new BufferedOutputStream(
                        new FileOutputStream(file));
                   byte[] buffer = new byte[1024];
// then what?Thank you in advance!

If "WARNING" can never occur in the input then wedon't have to worry about making the regex not match
    it.
Hmm, how about fool-proof? :)Bad idea, and impractical or impossible to implement. Excessively defensive coding leads to bloated, hard to maintain code, and a greater likelihood of bugs.
Code so that you code works correctly provided the preconditions are met. It's the caller's responsibility to meet them. Don't waste time and gunk up your code trying to handle inputs that aren't allowed to occur.

  • Outlook Client recurring appointments time zone / GMT offset problem

I will try to describe this with text, although it's a very visual problem.  I added a post to my blog with
it so I could include pictures.  If you think you need pictures to understand the text below, please review that entry.  Please note, the one appointment instance cited below, is an example, there are many others with this same problem,
and it only happens with recurring appointments.
    Relevant System Information:
    Windows 7 Utlimate
    Office 2010 Professional Plus (14.0.6023.1000 64-bit)
    Exchange services hosted by Microsoft.
Android HTC Inspire 4G also configured as exchange active sync client.
    Issue Description:
I have a specifications meeting that is scheduled for Tuesday mornings (every 2 weeks) at 8:30 am.  In the body of the appointment, it even has this text spelled out.  "When: Occurs every 2 weeks on Tuesday effective 11/23/2010 from 8:30
AM to 11:30 AM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)." as an indicator of the actual appointment time.  The problem is that one day, several weeks after this appointment had been sent to me, Outlook 2010 decided that it was really at 1:30 PM.
Since that time it's been showing incorrectly on my calendar at 1:30 PM.   So, I recognized almost immediately that this was a 5 hour difference, which happens to also be my timezone offset (except that I'm currently in daylight savings time -- so
    it's really a -4 offset right now).
I ran the 2010 service pack 1 installer, based on the suggestion of my IT group, and found I already had the service pack installed.  I've tried the timezone tool as well and that didn't work.  Please keep reading.
Next I went to my exchange host with outlook web access.   The appointment is closer to correct there, showing at 9:30am.  It think here it almost seems as though it's applying the DST, but not correctly, maybe doubling it?.
Meanwhile, back in outlook, if I go to the scheduling assistant and look at my time while making an appointment with other invitees it - much to my surprise - matches the time in OWA, not the time in outlook client.
Finally, if I go to my Android and look at the appointment, it is correct.  8:30 AM.
    So to summarize:
    Real Appoinment:   8:30 AM
    Outlook Client Time: 1:30 PM
OWA / Exchange Time: 9:30 AM
    Android Calendar Time: 8:30 AM
This applies to many others, this is just a convenient example.
This applies only to recurring appointments.
Any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jon

Status Update, and recommended next steps:
I opened a ticket with HTC support the day before yesterday (Ticket # 03543601). The initial response was an email reply with the typical level one suggestion to remove and re-add the Exchange ActiveSync account on my phone, and if that didn't resolve the
issue to do a hard reset and then add the account again. Since I have multiple users experiencing this same issue, where the common denominator seems to be centralized around the move from Outlook 2007 to 2010 and the HTC Gingerbread OS, I convinced them that
this would not be an acceptable remedy, and my case was immediately escalated without hesitation. I will say that though I don't have a resolution, I'll applaud HTC for not giving me the runaround and giving me a live person who could talk intelligently about
    the issue.
Today, I received a phone call back on this ticket  from someone in the escalations department at HTC named Travis. After explaining the issue in detail to him and referencing
this specific thread, he acknowledged that it did in fact sound like a coding issue coming from the device where the value in the “dispidApptTZDefStartDisplay” property was being set improperly by the device/stock email/calendar application in their implementation
of ActiveSync. He then stated that he would relay this to the developers to look into the issue. He further elaborated that the case would either be in a status of, "this is being looked into", or "We believe this to be resolved in [x] update". He said that
they will probably continue releasing updates for the Incredible (I did not specifically ask about the Incredible 2), and while the Incredible 2 is definitely slated to get Ice Cream Sandwich, the Incredible one is still in a classification of, "being evaluated".
Personally, I doubt that the Inc 1 will get ICS, but it is possible. From what I have read, the general stance is that phones will be updated for 18 months after release, and the Inc 1 is 24 months old this month (bummer - I REALLY like this phone).
According to Verizon and HTC, these are the phones that will get ICS (or Android 4.0):
Ice Cream Sandwich Coming to Many Verizon Wireless Smartphones
Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich Updates
While it is possible that an update will be released for the Incredible 1 to fix this issue, it will likely be months before one is available, so we'll probably have to move to Touchdown for Exchange by NitroDesk in order to resolve this issue....or move to
a newer phone with ICS 4.0.
Speaking of which, there is a whole laundry list of issues with Exchange ActiveSync and third-party devices. A number of them are listed in this Microsoft KB article:
Current issues with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and third-party devices
    Per the article:
Microsoft's recommendation for Android - Upgrade to Android OS 4.0
Microsoft's recommendation for iPhone/iOS devices - Upgrade to iOS version 5
So, for anyone on Android experiencing this issue (or others listed in the Microsoft KB above), if your phone is likely to get ICS soon, then you may want to hold on and just be vigilant about checking your calendar on OWA. If your phone isn't slated to get
ICS or if you can't wait, my recommendation is to get Touchdown for $20. You may still have to delete and re-create appointments that are wrong, but hopefully the issue won't happen any more once you move to Touchdown. And if they do, at least you've got a
shot at a more rapid fix with a company like NitroDesk. (no offense HTC).
Good luck. I probably won't post again unless I get notice of a fix for this specific issue or some other significantly useful information.
    Jonathan, MCSE

    is) - ActiveSync issue?

    Hello!
In our company we started to use Outlook 2013 clients, several users are contacting us because Outlook 2013 needs about a 1 minute or more to show that is loading the application / "Loading window":
If the user by mistake try to open Outlook again, pops the next message:
"Sorry, we're having trouble startind Outlook. Only one version of Outlook can run at time. Check to see of anopther version of Outlook is running, or try restarting your computer."
And also appears another one with saying:
"The operation failed due to an installation problem. Restart Outlook and try again. If the problem persists, please reinstall."
After that if they try to open again Outlook, Outlook suggest to open it in "Safe Mode".
If they clic on "Yes" Outlook starts very fast but if they click on "No" takes about 1 or 2 minutes to pop the Outlook "Loading window"
As in Safe Mode loads quick, we tried to disable all the Addins in Outlook but didn't resolve the issue.
Also tried to repair and reinstall the Office package, create a new local profile with new OST file.
The issue happens to diferent email/user accounts and computers.
We are working using Exchange configurations, and our build is W7 x64 enterprise, office 2013 32bits Standard.

My new computer is 64-bit running Windows 7 pro, SP1 and Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus 32-bit
My phone is a 4S runing iOS 6.1.3
Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer.  Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro.  I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty.  Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup
    Can anyone help please?
    thanks in anticipation

I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).
