Outlook switches contact pictures

When I upload a contact picture, I usually go online, find the appropriate picture, select "Copy link location" and paste that into the "File name" box of the contact picture upload. The picture shows up fine, I hit "Save &
close" and everything looks normal. It doesn't do this for all contacts, or contacts in certain groups, or with any pattern I can recognize, but sometimes it puts the contact picture I uploaded on another contact. Sometimes it even copies it to multiple
contacts so that the original one is fine, but the picture shows up on other contacts, some of which had a picture originally and some of which did. Any idea what could be causing this or how to stop it?

Hi,
Do you mean the contact picture you set for your local contact is also shown in other contact information in your Outlook client?

  • Can't sync Outlook 2010 contact pictures to Blackberry using desktop manager?

I'm new to the forum. I have an issue with syncing my Blackberry Tour to with my Outlook 2010 through Desktop Manager 6. All the data for Calendar and Contacts syncs correctly except for the contact photos. When I sync the photo's from Outlook don't transfer over to the blackberry and If I have a photo attacked to a contact on the blackberry it get's removed. There is one exception to this and that is that Facebook photo's linked to contacts remain on the blackberry as well as Outlook. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi asrjcb,
I would recommend downloading and installig the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager. This now has support for Microsoft Outlook 2010 64-bit.

  • Issues with Contact Pictures: Outlook 2010 and BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.1.0.36

    Hi guys,
I have been trying to syncronize my contacts for many days now, with the following problems with the contact pictures:
    1) Some contacts simply do not syncronize the pictures: Randomly, some contacts where I add a Picture in Outlook 2010 do not show the pictures in my Blackberry. Even worst: If make a change in any other field, the change in that field is detected, but the former value and value of the picture simply appear blank, even when the contact has a picture in outlook.
    2) If I add a picture in Outlook it is first syncronized to the BlackBerry. If I re-run the sync, all the pictures are re-syncronized back again from the BlackBerry to Outlook, but with a lower resolution, reducing the quality of all my contact's pictures. I also syncronize my Outlook to a couple of smartphones from other companies that do display high resolution pictures, diminishing the quality of the pictures displayed in the other devices.
This has been very frustrating, please help.
    Thanks,
    Marco

Unfortunately, no one from the BlackBerry team has replied (read?) my post. I simply changed the sync options to be unidirectional so that the BB won't replace the pictures with lower quality ones, Of course, I do not use my BB anymore to create new contacts, I do it in my other phones. For those contacts not showing a picture, I deleted the contacts and created them again. I really hope that someone at Blackberry realizes that High Quality contact pictures are appreciated within the BlackBerry users community and that they do something about it.

  • Missing Contact pictures in Outlook 2013

I have Outlook 2013 on a PC and using iCloud for my contacts and calendars.  My contacts however do not show contact pictures that are present.  Is this a bug or a feature?

I am in the same boat - not getting my contact images to appear in Outlook 2013.  From what I can tell so far, iCloud works better (or possibly only) with the 32-bit version of Outlook 2013.  I couldn't get it to work at all with the 64-bit version.  With the 32-bit version, iCloud calendar works fine but contacts were causing Outlook to crash.  I repaired iCloud 2.0 using that option in the Programs and Features function in Windows 8 and that got my iCloud contacts to appear in Outlook without crashing it.  Now, it's just getting the images to download.  Logging out and logging back in again didn't help even though it said it was downloading images.  Doing this, however, created a listing under My Contacts, called "Contacts - iCloud Archive" and this set of contacts had most of the contact images I have on my other computers/devices.  This is clearly a work in progress which will probably resolve itself in a short while.

  • Synchronize Outlook Contact Pictures

Hi there! I recently bought a Nokia 6233 and have managed to synchronize my Microsoft Outlook contacts to it via Nokia PC Suite 6.8. However I cannot manage to synchronize the contact pictures that I have added in outlook. Please help! Thanks loads! Dan Wood

It should syncronise the contacts pictures, if you have Outlook 2003

  • DM 6.1.0.36 Won't send contact pictures TO BlackBerry (but does get updates FROM BlackBerry)

    Outlook 2010 32bit, Windows 7, Desktop Manager 6.1.0.36 (Bundle 38), BIS
    Torch 9800 & Torch 9810
DM is not sending pictures TO the device.  It does not matter which one.
    Steps so far:
    1) Did a Security Wipe on both handsets.
    2) Using BBSAK wiped both handsets and replaced with virgin OS loads
    3) Completely un-installed DM 6.1 (using registry editor, DOS prompt - I mean REALLY uninstalled it)
    4) Uninstalled Outlook 2010 & reinstalled again.
    5) Uninstalled every plug-in for Outlook (Plaxo, Xobni, Cardscan)
    6) Rebuilt .PST files from scratch
    7) created a contact folder with just ONE contact in it for testing and a single contact called "test" which I created on the handset.
    Observations:
    1) If a contact starts on the BlackBerry with a contact then the picture will go TO Outlook.
    2) If a contact starts on the Desktop the contact will sync perfectly - but without the contact picture.
    3) If a contact is modified on the Desktop then the update will erase the picture from the handset.
    4) All contacts always have pictures on the Desktop (it is never erased in Outlook).
When I double click on the "Change record" I can clearly see that the contact record is modified UP to Outlook.
However - it is clear that Intellisync is erasing the contact picture going DOWN to the handset.
I'm stuck.  The weird thing is that it USED to work a couple of weeks ago.
    Any ideas, folks?
    --Bill

    Well folks. I've had enough.
The 9780 is a great phone, it's easy to use, practical and dependable. However, the Desktop Manager software has been giving me too many sleepless nights. On two occassions I must add: once at the end of last year when I bought it and only managed to solve it by myself after 4 weeks of trawling through online forums, blogs and other BB help sites and the recent one was last week when I tried to install it on my new Windows 7 notebook.
I know this is not entirely the fault of RIM, Microsoft also has a part to play. But considering the state of technology these days, it shouldn't have to be so difficult. I want a phone and software that makes my life easier and not have to be a slave to it by trying days and nights to solve its problems.
Hence, I have officially decom my phone and gotten an iPhone 4 instead. The switch ain't that difficult for me as I have always been platform neutral. As long it fits my needs, does it job well and doesn't give me too much headache, I'm cool with it.
    Ciao folks!

  • How to get contact pictures off iPhone

I saved a picture with most of my contacts on my iPhone. Now I'd like to get those pictures off of the iPhone and onto a computer. Can someone help?
So you know, I took the contact pictures from directly within the contact editor. I've tried sync'ing to my computer, but I only get thumbnails on my computer when I want the whole picture (I'm going to transfer the pictures to another iPhone).
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I have no clue, but don't think resolution is all that crucial.
Even a low-res picture can help preserve an important memory. Or something that makes a good phone contact picture may likely also make a good avatar for flickr, twitter, etc, and it would not need to be full resolution for such purposes.
Nothing taken with the iPhone is all that high-res anyhow. IIRC, pix assigned on the phone show up full-screen, so it's probably not as low-res as the teeny photo assigned on the desktop and transferred via sync.
Incidentally, google turned up this method of retrieval, using the Mac:
If you click "edit" on the contact's entry in Address Book and then double click inside their picture, it will appear as a somewhat bigger version, which you can copy with command-C. But it's a far cry from full-resolution.
    http://forums.macnn.com/103/ipod-iphone-and-apple-tv/341591/iphone-contact-photo s-how-to-extract/
I can't test it, though, as I don't sync contacts, and really have no clue whether the iPhone sync contact pictures to Outlook on Windows, which I assume the OP uses.

  • Contact picture cannot be seen while talking on the iPhone

This query is with regards to the contact picture, which cannot be seen while I am talking on the iPhone. If you see the review of iphone on the website (apple.com)..u will see a small picture next to John Appleseed. However in my iphone i cannot see it. The contact picture goes behind the menu controls(hold, mute, speaker etc).
Are you guys encoutering the same problme? Please help!

If you assign the picture from within the iphone, it takes up the whole screen. If you assign it from the computer (in your contacts database), then the picture will be in the corner. On the Mac, the contacts database is Address Book, and if you put a picture for a contact there, after a sync, that picture shows up in the corner when calling/talking to that person. I believe this works with Outlook or the Address Book on your PC too.

  • Contact pictures in Address Book not being displayed

    Hi,
I am syncing my address book, calendar with Google. My "source" usually is the Mac address book. After having activated the "Mac <=> Google" sync, everything worked fine in the begining. But the last six weeks I seem to have a problem with the contact pictures:
I have created contact pictures for nearly 95% of my contacts. These pictures were copied to the address book either from iPhoto or from the web. Via Google sync, the contacts are transfered to my iPod touch, my iPhone and my Nokia Lumia 800.
Suddenly the contact pictures started to disappear from my Mac address book, but were still visible in my Google address book and my mobile devices.
When I started to add the pictures to my address again I realized that most pictures are still there, they were simply not being displayed in my Mac address book. By switching to "edit mode" and opening the picture field I could see the pictures again. After clicking "OK" the pictures is visible again.
I double checked all pictures, added the few missing ones and created an "address book archive". Yesterday all pictures gone again. I imported the archive, all pictures back again. This morning, the pictures are gone again. This whole thing doesn't seem to affect Google or the mobile devices.
Any idea what the problem with the address book is?
PS: Before you suggest to switch to iCloud. I need to sync my address book and calendar with all my mobile devices. If I would use iCloud, I would not be able to sync with my Nokia Lumia 800 (Windows Phone). And from comments in the forum, there seem to be similar problems with iCloud concerning address book information.
    Thanks for your ideas.

    I found this article online:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20004209-263.html
Export an Address Book Archive of all your contacts, then import it right back in. Worked like a charm.

  • Contact pictures incorrect

Hi! Need some help in resolving the following issue:
On an iPhone 4s (IOS 5.1.1),  my contact's pictures are all messed up, for example, my wife's picture appears in several other contacts and so on.  Is there a way to delete all the pictures in the contacts database in one go? Also, the errors have spread to my iCloud backup and iPad (2nd Gen, IOS 7.03).
My Macbook Air address book has a "clean" version (without contact pictures) which I tried to sync with my iphone... no luck.
Need help please. Thanks in advance!

I have iOS 4.3 on the 3GS and I have noticed the names and numbers of my contacts have been mixed up for the past couple of weeks. They are correct on mobileme when I log on and correct on the PC I sync with (Using Outlook) but on the iphone they are mixed up. This has persisted despite deleting and re-syncing all the contacts. The problem occured prior to upgrading to iOS 4.3 though

  • How to import outlook 2003 contacts to thunderbird

What is the easiest method to import the outlook 2003 contacts (adresbook) to Thunderbird which is installed on Ubuntu. (Windows XP + Ubuntu 14.04 installed on same computer)
I'm a bit surprised that even today, this somehow seems to remain kind of a problem. Articles are pointing to complicated procedures, implicating various other programs which should helping in resolving what should be a simple import of the oulook.pst files.
Outlook can export to various type of files. Which format could Thunderbird itself use to import "directly" with some chance of succes ?
I trust that Mozilla is aware of it that it still is a point of concern to users.
Focussing on migration is the first priority after installation.
I found a very good Dutch article about installation
    http://support.mozilla.org/nl/kb/thunderbird-installeren-linux.
But about importing from Oulook (2003 or other) , I wasn't able to find some straigthforward guidance for a "easy" and simple import operation, probably because there still isn't one yet.
    Thank you.

My point is to draw attention of Mozilla to the fact that the more users find it easy to import from Windows, the better there is a chance to switch towards open source.
Yesterday I imported from Outlook 2003 (on my wife's PC) her address book into Thunderbird last version (with Ubuntu 14.04, also last version). I can assure you that it was NOT a piece of cake !
It took quite a time to adjust on data selection and organizing fields. Is that Microsoft fault ? I'm not so sure.
I agree on Microsoft's wrong attitudes, and therefore always was a Linux follower, hoping that open source would become better and more userfriendly than Windows.
My attitude towards open source is to give it confidence to become even better. So I'll never give up, but there still is much work to do. Ubuntu has improved quite a lot, at each new release. Still it runs slower than XP on my old machine.
And neither of both burned Mint installation CD's would not even run.

  • N70 and Outlook 2003 Contacts Synchronisation

I have the latest version of PC Suite (6.81.13.0) and have it set up to synchronise my Outlook 2003 Contacts, Calendar, and Notes in both directions between my new N70 and the PC, via a USB cable. I'm not in a position to try bluetooth yet. During the synchronisation, the Notes are read both ways and PC Suite seems to 'read' the Contacts and makes an attempt to write them from the PC to the phone (there are currently no Contacts on the phone as it's new), but then the Sync process aborts and I get 2 warning messages on PC Suite saying: "PC Sync could not update the data to the mobile phone." "PC Sync has encountered a problem and has terminated the synchronisation." I have also tried the process between my laptop and the phone using the same version of PC suite and the same thing happened. I manually entered a contact in the phone to see if it would be transferred to my Outlook Contacts on the PC and this worked fine. I can't update the Contacts through the phone broswer either - nothing happens. Everything seems to be set up ok, but the process aborts, giving the warning messages. Has anyone encountered the same problem, or can anyone suggest any solutions please? Thanks, Stephen

Since the phone is empty, you could try to reset to factory settings the phone by *#7370#. There is a risk that you loose your pictures and other data from phone, so make sure you make a backup to memory card or move manually all relevant data to PC first (if exists in phone)
