You can use a af:switcher component for this like:
<af:panelGroupLayout id="pgl6">
                <af:switcher id="s1" facetName="#{viewScope.ToggleBean.truncateLength eq 0 ? 'LONG' : 'SHORT'}">
                  <f:facet name="SHORT">

  • How to change dynamic text on mouse click of an object

    Here is my Project File.
    I'm wanting to change dynamic text when an object is clicked.
    I created 3 dynamic text boxes under "Selected Colors" and gave them instance names of selected_roof_color, selected_trim_color and selected_wall_color.
    When the user clicks a color (ie Arctic White) and then clicks say the roof, I want the "Selected Color" to display "Arctic White" to the right of "Roof:".
    The colorable areas on the building have been given instances of roof, walls and trim.
    I used this tutorial to change in the textbox underneath the colors when you mouse over a color.
    Thank you for your assistance.

    My first button color is Arctic White and it has an instance of arcticwhite.
    The actionscript for the Arctic White Button is:
    on (release) {
        _root.fillColor = 0xf3f5f4;
        _root.brush.gotoAndStop(1);
    The roof button has an instance of selected_roof_color and my dynamic text field where I want "Arctic White" to appear is given an instance of selected_roof_text.
    Using your suggestion, my main Actionscript now has the following
    roof.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,roof);
    function roof(e:MouseEvent):void{
    selected_roof_text.text="roof";
    Looks like I've still got something incorrect as the selected_roof_text isn't changing when I click a color onto the roof.
    Can you explain what the F in "roofF" is?  Is that a typo?

  • Changing mouse click text select in term windows

    Minor nit/question -
    When you click on text in the terminal window, it only selects up to a non-word character (i.e. it stops selecting at punctuation, so trying to click on Foo::Bar to select it all, it goes first to Foo (stopped by the ':') and then selects the entire line on the next click.
    Most Linux flavors seem to go by whitespace - first click selects everything that is between whitespace, even if it includes non-alpha characters (thus you get Foo::Bar with one click); then the next click selects the whole line. Having gotten used to that, the Mac behavior is... annoying.
    So - how does one change it? Can it be user-config'd?
    Thanks for any assistance.

    I have actually found out what the issue is. I have called a javascript method onblur of the text element which is present in the suggest region. This onblur method is interfering with the mouse click event of the auto complete suggestions shown. If i remove the onblur method, everything is working fine. I have simulated the issue in the html file present in the compressed folder attached herwith. In that i am actually throwing an alert on blur where as in real scenario i have some other functionalities to be handled on blur.
         For clarity i will explain the real scenario as well. When the user selects a suggestion from the auto complete div, the value will be placed in the text box and on blur of the text box, the dataset will be filtered based on the value in the text box.  Few pointers on this issue:
    The on blur functionality does not interfere when we select a suggestion using down arrow in key board.
    If i use mouse click to select then i have to wait for few milliseconds extra with the mouse clicked on the value before releasing it, so that the selected value is available in the textbox. Within this few milliseconds, the onblur function gets executed and then self.nodeClick is executed thus placing the value in the textbox. But forcing the user to keep the mouse clicked on the value for sometime will not sound good.
         Kindly advise as to how this issue could be handled.

  • Focus should not be lost on mouse click

    hai,
    i have a problem with validating a jtextfield,
    i wrote a code for that jtextfield,such that if any error occurs while entring the message is shown on focus is gained on to that textfield,even if user tries to move to the next component using tab he should correct the entry only then focus is shown to the next component on pressing tab,but this failed with mouse click,i mean other than tab if he uses mouse and click on the next component it goes to the next componenet without validating the textfield entry.
    so please help me in disabling mouse click event.

    how are you validating it then? Using a focus listener for focuseLost() shouldn't care about tab or mouse clicks.

    inlineStyle ="width:50px" will not be wrapped... it will show 50px width of the button.

  • Macbook Pro crashes on mouse click

    Hello everyone,
    I've been having this problem for two weeks now and it's happening more and more frequently!
    Info:
    Macbook Pro 15'' mid 2011
    Mac OS X Mavericks / Mac OS X Yosemite
    Hard Drive: Samsung 840 Evo 250GB SSD
    8 GB Ram
    THE ISSUE:
    Every so often at a random time, at the exact moment I perform a mouse click, my macbook pro crashes.
    That instant, the screen goes dark ( like I just ripped out it's battery ) and reboots automatically, saying "your mac restarted because of a problem".
    Like I said, it's gotten more and more frequent! ( 5 times a day or more now... )
    WHAT I'VE TRIED:
    So the problem occurred in Mavericks, so I figured I'll install Yosemite ( on a new partition ) and see if it's any better.. Well it isn't...
    Same problem, same type of crash.
    Then I figured maybe it's related to my magic mouse.. So i turned it off and used a third party mouse. No luck! It also happened while using the Macbook's trackpad.
    I also haven't found anyone with a similar problem online so far, so if any of you have experienced something like this or know what might be causing it, i'd be grateful for any information!
    Best regards,
    Robert

  • A script that captures the coordinates of the mouse clicks and saves them into a file

    Hello,
    I'm trying to create a cartoon taking a movie (I've chosen blade runner) as base. I've got the real movie and I've exported all the pictures using VirtualDUB. Now I have a lot of images to modify. I would like to modify the actors faces with the faces generated by Facegen modeller. I'm thinking how to make the whole process automatic because I have a lot of images to manage. I've chosen to use Automate BPA,because it seems the best for this matter. I'm a newbie,so this is my first attempt using Adobe Photoshop and Automate BPA. I wrote a little script. It takes a face generated with Facegen modeller and tries to put it above the original actors faces. But it doesn't work very good and I'm not really satisfied,because the process is not fully automated. To save some time I need to write a script that captures the coordinates of the mouse when I click over the faces and that saves them into a file,so that Automate BPA can read these coordinates from that file and can put the face generated with Facegen Modeller above the original face. I think that Automate BPA is not good for this matter. I think that two coordinates are enough,X and Y. They can be the coordinates of the nose,because it is always in the middle of every face. It is relevant to knows how big should be the layer of the new face,too. This is the Automate BPA code that I wrote :

    and this is a short video to explain better what I want to do :
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/26687972@N03/5331705934/
    In the last scene of the video you will see the script asking to input the X and the Y coordinates of the nose. This request is time consuming. For this reason I want to write a script that captures automatically the coordinates of the mouse clicks. The only thing to do should be click over the nose and the script should make the rest. As "c.pfaffenbichler" suggested here : http://forums.adobe.com/thread/775219, I could explore 3 ways :
    1) use the Color Sampler Tool’s input with a conventional Photoshop Script.
    2) use After Effects would provide a better solution.
    3) Photoshop’s Animation Panel might also offer some easier way as it might be possible to load two movies (or one movie and one image) and animate the one with the rendered head in relation to the other.
    Since I'm a totally newbie in graphic and animation,could you help me to explore these ways ? Thanks for your cooperation.

    These are the coordinates of the contours of the face that you see on the picture. Can you explain to me how they are calculated ? The coordinates of the first colums are intuitive,but I'm not able to understand how are calculated the coordinates of the second one.
    Thanks.
    1 COL     2 COL (how are calculated these values ?)

  • What is the recommended way to handle mouse click events for custom nodes that subclass Panes?

    Hi,
    I have created a custom node that is a StackPane containing a Label on top of a Polygon.
    import javafx.scene.control.Label;
    import javafx.scene.layout.StackPane;
    import javafx.scene.paint.Color;
    import javafx.scene.shape.Polygon;
    public class CustomHexagon extends StackPane {
        private Polygon hexagon;
        private Label overlayText;
        public CustomHexagon( String text, double... points ) {
            this.hexagon = new Polygon( points );
            this.overlayText = new Label( text );
            overlayText.setStyle( "-fx-font-weight: bold;" );
            hexagon.setStroke( Color.GREEN );
            hexagon.setStrokeWidth( 5.0 );
            hexagon.setFill( Color.WHITE );
            this.getChildren().addAll( hexagon, overlayText );
    // Lays out the node where it should be according to the points provided for the Polygon.
            this.setLayoutX( points[0] - getLayoutBounds().getMinX() );
            this.setLayoutY( points[1] - getLayoutBounds().getMinY() );
    // Show the border of the StackPane.
            this.setStyle( "-fx-border-color: black; -fx-border-width: 1; -fx-border-style: dashed;");
        public String getOverlayText() {
            return overlayText.getText();
    I want to display a tesselation of these custom hexagons. Because a CustomHexagon is a StackPane, not a Polygon, MouseClick events can be picked up when the mouse is clicked outside of the stroke of the hexagon but still within the StackPane (which takes up a rectangle larger than the hexagon). The following program demonstrates this.
    public class Main extends Application {
        @Override
        public void start(Stage primaryStage) {
            Group root = new Group();

    After running this program, when one clicks within the intersection of two StackPanes (borders shown by dashed lines), the target of the mouse click event will be the StackPane on top as determined by the order in which they were added to their parent.
    This is a problem because there is only a small "T" shaped area within each hexagon that when clicked will target that hexagon with an event, rather than adjacent nodes.
    I would appreciate any reccomendations to solve this problem.
    Thanks,
    James Giller

  • Truncate output text in hierarchyViewer component

    Hi,
    I want to display the text with truncated to 30 characters only. I identified the outputText and added the truncateAt attribute and set it to 30. but it doesn't seem to work. Moreover the line - truncateAt="30" is underlined with orange squiggly lines indicating that there is some error and when I mouse over it , it says that this attribute is not supported when the component is inside of a hierarchyViewer component.
    Any pointers how can I truncate the output text to 30 characters only?
    Thanks,
    Dhirendra

    hi Vinod,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I have run it and it doesn't work. Use case is that we have a hierarchy viewer and I want to just truncate the long names of the Node Title.
    Here is my local deploy link
    http://rws65447fwks:7101/projectsManagement/faces/ResourceManagementDashboard
    All I want to do is truncate the Node Title and limit it to lets say 30 characters. So "Resources with No Pool Membership" becomes "Resources with No Pool Mem..."
    I tried to change in the jsff file and add the attribute called truncateAt and set it to 30, but as I said it says by underlying squiggly lines that the attribute is not supported.
    Please let me know against what team should I file a bug? or it has to bean SR?
    Thanks,
    Dhirendra

  • How to determine the text on a given Mouse Location

    Hi friends,
    Can you people guide me with this feature? I'm using JTextPane & want to determine the text on a given Mouse Location on Mouse Click event. I consulted the docs but could'nt make out any methods providing this feature.
    Thanx in advance.
    Afroze.

    Hi,
    I think you can use the viewToModel() method... it should do the trick.
    Regards.

  • How to conditionally render LOV/Output text?

    We have following requirement:
    From task_flow1, user can navigate to task_flow2 on a button click.
    If product_id parameter is not passed by task_flow1, in task_flow2 page we want to show a LOV allowing the user to enter the product.
    If product_id parameter is passed, we want to show product as output text.
    Can we do this using EL in rendered properties for LOV/output text attributes?
    TIA

    Thanks Frank/Raghu!
    Frank, how to pass parameter to memory scope of the target task flow? where exactly should I check if the parameter exists? In EL for rendered property of LOV/Output text?
    Raghu, I could not find "Dynamic user interface" in jdev guide. Can you please point me to specific section.
    Thanks again!

  • Using mouse click to return image coordinates.

    Ok so I've been trying to figure out how to do this and it seems very complicated for something that really seems straightforward.
    Anyway. I have a camera that updates an image object on the front panel using a while loop. I have another image object that is updated with a still image when the "snap" button is pressed. Now what I want to do is to click on a point in the snapped image and have the VI return the coordinates of that pixel in the image coordinate frame.
    What I've got so far is an event structure in the while loop with the following to occur in the event "image object -> mouse down":
    Server reference (reference to the image object) -> Property node (last mouse position) -> output screen coordinates.
    I've got two errors that don't make a whole lot of sense to me (I haven't worked with event structures before): "event data node contains unwired or bad terminal" and "event structure one or more event cases have no events defined". This second one seems strange since I don't actually want anything to happen if there's no mouse click. The first one seems to refer to the element box on the left hand side of the event structure.
    The above is my lastest attmpt at sorting this problem and as far as I can see it should work. whatever about the errors, am I even taking the right approach with this? I'd have thought image cordinates would be a common enough thing but search the boards here, it would appear not...
    Kinda stumped here. Any help is much appreciated.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello RoBoTzRaWsUm,
    I have taken a look at your VI, which has been taking a correct approach to the data you are looking for.  As you are using and event structure, you should be looking for an event to occur.  When using a Property Node, you are trying read an attribute of a control.  However, in an Event Structure, I believe you should be using an Invoke Node.  An Invoke Node allows your to read an event or write a method with the Control Class in LabVIEW.
    1. Place down and Invoke Node from the Functions Palette in 'Programming'->'Application Control'
    2. Wire your Image Control reference to it
    3. Click Method, and select 'Get Last Event'
    4. Right click on 'Which Events' and 'Create Constant'.  Make the constant '1' in the array
    5. Read the 'Coordinates' Cluster from the left hand side of the Event Case by right clicking  and 'Create Indicator'
    You will find a piece of example code attached.

  • Integrating code for mouse click!

    Hello!
    I'm trying to get this code working where I want to integrate a shortcut for clicking an button made in Egde Animate.
    The code snippets you see is just some copied areas of the whole working code,
    Serial.print(c);
            if (c == '\n') {
              if (readString.indexOf("?") <0)
                //do nothing
              else
                 if(readString.indexOf("UP=UP") >0)
                     movetiltupstep();
    // now output HTML data starting with standard header
              client.println("HTTP/1.1 200 OK");
              client.println("Content-Type: text/html");
              client.println();
              //set background to green
              client.print("<body style=background-color:green>");
              client.println("<hr />");
              client.println("<center>");
              client.println("<h1>Servo control</h1>");
              client.println("<form method=get name=SERVO>");
              client.println("<input type=submit value=UP name=UP style=\"width:100px\"><br>");
              client.println("<input type=submit value=LT name=LT style=\"width:100px\"><input type=submit value=CN name=CN style=\"width:100px\"><input type=submit value=RT name=RT style=\"width:100px\"><br>");
              client.println("<input type=submit value=DN name=DN style=\"width:100px\">");
              client.println("</form>");
              client.println("</center>");
              client.println("</body></html>");
              //clearing string for next read
              readString="";
              //stopping client
              client.stop();
    void movetiltupstep(){
      tiltpos = tilt.read();
      Serial.println(tiltpos);
      if (tiltpos >= 66)
      tilt.write(tiltpos - 2);
    This is just an overview of my setup for a webpage, where I can move a servo with a button and this is called movetiltupstep();
    The button is made here, ("<input type=submit value=UP name=UP style=\"width:100px\"><br>"); and I want to use this with the button in Edge Animate.
    For a button this is the setup, function(sym, e) and I tried to integrate something like this:
    // insert code for mouse click here
    sym.$("<input type=submit value=UP name=UP>")  but not working.
    How would i proceed with this problem, ideas anyone?
