Over billed broadband charges

I raised an issue via the forum (13th Feb) which now appears to be fixed relating to broadband usage that was not be me, I was assured speaking to a moderator who helped me look at the problem (and appears to have fixed it) that I would not be charged for this fault but appear to be about to be billed £33 in connection with this (braodband usage above my 10GB limit).
Soemone who I spoke to was due to monitor my usage ( which now appears to have retuned to pre fault levels) was due to get back in touch to discuss what could be done re this but didn't - this may be why these charges appear on my account?
Please can a billing moderator help me as have tried calling 0800 800150 who were of no help whatsoever and could not understand my query.
Happy to pay for what I've actually used!
Thanks

  • Broadband over-usage - being charged for first mon...

    Hi there,
Last month I went over my broadband usage on option 2, but was informed at the time that I wouldn't be charged for this as you only get charged if you go over again. I've now upgraded to option 3 so this won't happen again. However, I received an email this morning saying that I will have to pay £40 for going over during that first month period.
The chap I spoke to on the phone said not to worry as I've already been told I won't be charged but I would really like confirmation that this is the case as I cannot afford to pay this money. As far as I'm concerned, that was first month usage and I shouldn't be charged.
    Many thanks, Adam.

Hi Adam. You are correct, you should not be charged the first month:
"If you exceed your usage allowance, you'll be charged for additional usage in units of five gigabytes (GB), at £5 per 5GB. Charges will apply from the second month you exceed your allowance and will be shown on your BT bill."

  • Over billed - Contacted Cust.Service for 21 times

Folks, This is my latest experinece with O2, I'm highly regret to be O2 Customer. Their service SUCKS.. DON'T GO FOR THEM AGAIN & DON'T EVER SUGGEST O2 My message to O2 team after *bleep* off by conatcting cust.care agents:=========================================================================
Ref: Escallation for Over billing – Unsolved issued – Contacted for 21 times This is regarding your worst & pathetic billing system management & disastrous customer service on complains management and customer queries.
    1) In May'15 I was billing for nearly £130, due to international text which triggered from my iPhone app, though I was "opted-out" from International Calls, Text & Special numbers... still it went through and I was charged for those. It is number 1 evidence of your poor IT systems and customer query management.
    2) I contacted customer service agent and got this over bill issue sorted out. However by the time I contacted, the bill was generated and agent advised to take off Direct Debit (as she deactivated DD from her end on behalf of me). The issue was solved for the time being and I cleared payment on 21st June for May month bill.
    3) Again I noticed I was over charged of £30 excess than usual bill and found out that the VAT which was attracted on above said £130 is yet to remove. Since then that is the biggest issue, each time I call agent they make false promises to remove but never happens and not only that each time I call, every agent concludes different reasons for that £30 excess, again false promises to remove but NEVER THAT TAKES IT OFF.
    - Since May'15 - I contacted your O2 Customer service for 21 times
    - My last call/case ID with your agent was yesterday – 678748262
    - Yesterday the agent kept same false practise of promising to send some details over text but never did – Though I’m really surprised, as it is O2 culture.
    - I was disconnected for more than 4 times during these issue transition.
    - on an average I spent 40 mins each time I call customer service.
    My Questions to you:
    - Is this a normal practice of to make your customers go over billed to bag extra money for your own mistakes?
    - Don't you have any ethical values or shame on any corner of your business practise?
    - How many times would you expect your customers to call and spend their personal time to sort out an issue which triggered due to your inefficiency and incapability?
    - Do you think spending huge funds on marketing & Adverts and ditching customers on the background is the core of your business success?
    - Don’t think once committed for a promise must be accomplished?
    What am I Expecting?
    - My problem should be sorted out immediately?
    - I wasn't treated fairly and not received service for what I was paid for
    - I must be compensated for whatever the damage is happen to me
    Thanks,
    Srujan

Maybe they didn't realise it was international texting, I notice they said it was through an app!
Although I'm not sure how exactly you might not know, but considering how many scam/rip off apps are around these days, I wouldn't be surprised if it was unintentional!
To the op, follow the advise above of making a formal complaint.

  • Over heating on charge and it is no longer showing anything on the screen

My iPhone 5 is over heating on charge and it is no longer showing anything on the screen. I was using it when the screen went white and it hasn't worked since. I have tried to both restart it and to restore it. as the screen doesn't not work it is hard to tell the condition of the phone. However it occasionally makes the lock noise when pushing the lock button and also occasionally vibrates when operating the side switch. I can not leave it plugged in on charge as it gets very hot and it is no longer recognised in iTunes unless i put it in recovery mode.
Has anyone else has this problem or can recommend a solution. I bought it second hard a while ago so it is not under any warranty.
    Thank you

Sounds like the battery has become unstable
Take it to an Apple store Genius bar for evaluation Suggest you do not attempt to charge any more
at worse Apple may offer an Out of Warranty exchange device identical to donor
In UK  price over the counter is £209

  • Over $150 unauthorized charges

I have over $150 unauthorized charges on my itunes to paypal accounts.  I have changed passwords on each account as well as put in a dispute resoultion with Paypal.  How do I contact Apple to dispute these charges.  I had a balance with itunes cards.  Also, how do I disable my account from going to paypal.  This site lets me change password etc. but not how my account is charged.  HELP!  I want to stop the charges before they deplete me as I have heard that Apple and Paypal are in cahoots and do not refund your money (at least this was the case in the past!)

That would be a criminal conspiracy, you should call your local law enforcement if you think that is what is happening.

I want all these amounts to be refunded, immediately.
I have tried everything possible except to email Bill Gates.
Now this community is the only resort please Help...
Look forward to hearing from you.

  • Can I chose to pay 'over the limit' charges

    Hi there.
Nine times out of ten my 10gb broadband usage is fine however i occasionally watch films and tv shows on my laptop which can take my usage close to the 10gb then i find i spend about a week not really being able to do much online.
To upgrade to 40gb costs £5 more but seems a little extreme. Are there any consequences to just paying the £5 per 5gb charge if i go over and then not if i stay inside the usage. Consequences like it makes me look like a bad customer- affects things like that? I may pay it twice a year or something but I am aware it is a charge and wonder if it has the stigma of bank charges etc
    Thanks

    Hi.
There is nothing wrong, or any stigma attached to having to pay the odd extra fiver. There are no bank charges as such of course.
It's entirely up to you, and actually sounds like a very good option in your case. There is a possibility you may get an email suggesting you upgrade to a higher allowance package - but you can ignore them.

  • Want to listen to a grown man cry over billing?

I feel so very down after getting off phone talking to a (?) helpful Indian lady regarding my outstanding bill.
    Long story short...
My last quarterly Bill I could not pay as my best friend was killed in a car crash and I had to (wanted to) help out with funeral costs etc.
I was given more time to pay which I was thankful for.
Today my package (Phone/Broadband) was partially restricted.
I called BT to see if I could incorporate the outstanding balance of £136 in to a MOnthly Payment Plan before my next scheduled bill was produced on 3rd May - NO! I have to pay £136 (outstanding amount) after which I would be eligible for a Monthly Payment Plan via direct debit.
Sadly, after quitting my job and going on Carers Allowance to look after my dying mother I have been on Job Seekers Allowance and do not have an awful lot of money - current balance £65.08 in my bank account to last me until 13th May.
I am 47 and for most of my adult life have been a customer of BT - both my parents have passed away but when they had a telephone they were too mostly with BT.
Now for the ironic thing - as a past employee of BT I have been very thankful that the BT Benevolent Fund has helped me to pay my electricity/gas bills!
Life is very strange sometimes - at the moment I am able to raise an ironic smirk but not a true smile for me!
Rant over - I am a newbie here - any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Darren

    Hi Darren and welcome.
I'm really sorry you've had so many problems lately. If there is an outstanding balance on the account you can't switch to a monthly payment plan but I'll be happy to take a look at this for you and check if we can sort something out. Drop me an email with the details. You'll get the 'contact us' form in the about me section of my profile.
    Cheers

  • Broadband charges

    Hi,
In my household there is currently an ipad, iphone, laptop and a tablet, sometimes all being used at the same time.  I assumed, wrongly, that 40gb a month would be sufficient.  Is this normal usage for a family of four?  I am now being charged extra as I am going over my monthly quota but feel the 'unlimited' package is alot to pay a month.
Apart from turning off the devices, does anybody have any advice?
    Regards, Curly

If you're on standard ADSL/copper broadband you can get unlimited for just £16 or £23/26 for Infinity:
    http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/broadband/packages
If you're using it a lot - as you indicate you are - then surely it's better to pay a little bit more per month and avoid big charges for going over your limits?

  • I have ipod 4 touch. 3yrs old. when i plug in it isnt charging. it gets switched off after the charge gets over. then it charges and again switches on. dont know how to solve this problem.. please help

    IPod 4 touch. 3yrs old. Not charging when plugged in. But charges when the battery gets drained. when battery gets over I keep it for charging. It switches on and doesn't charge.. Plz help!!;;

    Not Charge
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    - Try another cable. The cable for 5G iPod (lightning connector) seems to be more prone to failure than the older cable.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
