OWB 10gR2 : How to configure ctl and log locations for Sql*Loader mappings?

Hi all,
I'm using OWB 10gR2 to load data in tables with Sql*Loader mappings.
In my project I have a datafile module and an Oracle module.
When creating an sql*loader mapping in the oracle module, there is two properties for this mappings that I want to modify. The first is Control File Location and the second is Log File Location. Values for those properties are equal to the data file module location. When trying to change those values I can only chose "Use module configuration location".
Somebody knows how to configure those properties with different locations as the one of the flat file module?
What I want to do is to store the data file in one directory, and control file and log file in other directories.
Thank you for your help.
Bernard

Hi,
You're right, my problem is that the dropdown only show the location associated with the flat file location even if I have other file locations created in the design repository.
The good news is that I have found the solution to solve the problem :
1) Edit the file module and in tab "Data locations", add the locations you want to use for control file and log file.
2) Open configuration window of the mapping and then the dropdown for properties Control File Location and Log File Location show new locations
I have tested my mapping after changing those properties and it's working.

Overall it seems SQL doenn't require any special arrangement to connect BCS to SharePoint.

  • How to configure iMac and Airport Extreme for remote access?

I want  to view videos stored in iTunes on my iMac remotely over the Internet when I away from my home network.  My home network setup includes AirPort Extreme with Comcast High Speed Internet Service (16Mbs/6Mbps).  I use AirPlayit to support the iMac as a server and have the iPad 3 and iPhone 4 apps for AirPlayit.  I have no problem viewing my videos over my home network on any of my mobile devices but for some reason I am unable to configure my firewall so that I can access my iMac remotely when I am away.

Turning off the wireless on the TP-Link router does not make it a simple modem.
You need to configure the AirPort Extreme in Bridge Mode to operate correctly with another router on the network.
Open AirPort Utility and click on the AirPort Extreme icon, then click Edit
Click the Network tab a the top of the window
Make sure that the setting for Router Mode is "Off (Bridge Mode)"
Click Update to save the new settings
Wait 30 seconds for a green light on the AirPort Extreme, then power off the complete network....all devices....in any order you want.
Wait a minute, then start the TP-Link modem/router first and let it run a full minute
Start the AirPort Extreme next the same way
Keep starting devices one at at a time the same way until the entire network is back up.

  • How to set default directory for SQL LOADER

    hi all,
i wanted to know how can we setup a default directory for SQL LOADER if at all we can. i connot place my control and data files in local system and use them at command prompt. rather i wanted to know if we can set default directory that the loader can use. this requirement is basically to enable all the clients to upload the data placed on the server and use the loader utility.

    Ella,
You don't say which version of SQL Developer you are using via Citrix, but just setting the SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR hasn't worked for a long time (see Re: SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR does not function anymore). Also, since version 1.5, the default for the user directory (now set via ide.user.dir as shown below) is under the user profile area (relative to %APPDATA%), which you should be able to write to, even on Citrix.
Assuming that neither of those help, you will need to get whoever installed SQL Developer on the Citrix C: drive to modify the sqldeveloper.conf to have a line like, where the path exists for everyone who will be using the shared SQL Developer (assumes everyone has a H: drive):
AddVMOption -Dide.user.dir=H:\sqldeveloperAn alternative (depending on how you start SQL Developer via Citrix), is to create your own shortcut to start SQL Developer with something like:
    sqldeveloper -J-Dide.user.dir="%SQLDEVELOPER_USER_DIR%"theFurryOne

  • How to configure, push and test Idoc from XI to R/3

Assuming mapping between imported Idoc and some file structure is fine ,I have to configure XI and R/3 for pushing Idocs from Xi to r/3. I have to make sure they talk.
-I have done this long time ago for pushing Idocs from R/3 to XI but I wonder if it is same procedure or it is different ?
-Can someone tell me  - how to configure both for this purpose partner profiles , logical systems etc ?
-And also after configurations , how I can check if Idocs is received from Xi and the entire process is successful?
-does it make difference the type of Idocs during the configurations?
-Are the test for success same for all type Idocs?
    Thanks all !
    Jon

    Here are the steps:
    ===========================
First - Maintain the Sender R/3 System:
SM59 : Create a RFC destination to XI
WE21 : Create a TRFC Port ->Specify the RFC Destination Created
BD54 : Create a Logical System for the Idoc Receiver
WE20 : Create Partner Profile ->Maintain Outbound and the Inbound Parameters
Second - Log on to XI System:
SM59 : RFC Destination for Sender System
IDX1 : Create the port to get Idoc Metadata from Sender System ( The Port Name must match the port name in the idoc header - Usually in format SAP<System ID>. eg. SAPID1 [Optional Step. Not mandatory]
IDX2 : Maintain the Idoc Metadata. This is needed only by XI, and not by other SAP systems. IDX2 is needed because XI needs to construct IDoc-XML from the IDoc. No other SAP system needs to do that.
    To Enable Acknowledgement:
SXMB_ADM ->Integration Engine Configuration ->Specific Configuration ->Add New entry -> Select parameters as:
    Category: RUNTIME
    Parameters: ACK_SYSTEM_FAILURE
    Current Value: 1

  • Can we configure mirooring and log hsipping both DR in one database?

Can we configure mirooring and log hsipping both DR in one database?
If yes how it does work.
    Many Thanks
    Shashikala

    You
CAN definitely use log shipping and mirroring at the same time. You can make use of log shipping to ship the log to a remote site for DR and have a database-mirroring, high-availability configuration locally. However, Sometimes it
is a slight bit tiresome to set up log shipping going the other way once a failover has occurred, whereas mirroring is easy in that portion.
Some DBA use this two together if you they have to use bulk-logged recovery model, since mirroring only uses the full recovery model and in another scenario in database mirroring, we cannot
use mirroring database as reporting (cannot query) unless we don’t create snapshot out it, but in log shipping, the database is in standby mode so we can query if it is not being restored at the same time.

  • How to configure JCA DBAdapter logging in OSB 11.1.1.4.0?

How to configure JCA DBAdapter logging in OSB 11.1.1.4.0?
I have a project deployed to the new 11.1.1.4.0 version of OSB.
Under previous versions, a $DOMAIN-diagnostic.log file was maintained and contained a record of the activity of the various JCA DB pollers I had configured.
In the most recent version, this is not the case.
I'd like to know if I can restore the old behaviour...
The best solution I could come up with is to change a setting in $DOMAIN/alsbdebug.xml, thus:
    <java:sb-debug-logger xmlns:java="java:com.bea.wli.debug">
    <java:alsb-jca-framework-adapter-debug>true</java:alsb-jca-framework-adapter-debug>
    </java:sb-debug-logger>
With this change the pollers put their logging output into the $DOMAIN.log file.
How can I get the output back into $DOMAIN-diagnostic.log?

    Alex,
Oracle B2B does not support custom HTTP listening channels as of now. There are below two default HTTP listening channels for async Request-Response scenarios -
    http://host:port/b2b/transportServlet or http://host:port/b2b/httpReceiver
and below one is used for synchronous request-response scenarios -
    http://host:port/b2b/syncreceiver
where host - B2B server host and port is B2B server port.

  • How the Payload Message and Logs are stored in the B1i Database Table: BZSTDOC

I would appreciate it if someone could provide any documentation regarding B1i database further maintenance.
    for example:
I want to know how the payload message and logs are stored in the table BZSTDOC, and how can we retrieve the payload message directly from the column DOCDATA.
As described in the B1iSNGuide05 3.2 LogGarbageCollection:
to avoid the overload of the B1i Database, I set the Backup Buffer to 90 days : so this means Message Logs from the last 90 days will always be available, but is there some way we can save those old messages to a disk so that I can retrieve the payload message anytime?
in addition, let’s assume the worst, the B1iSN server or the B1i database damaged, Can we just simply restore the B1i database from a latest backup DB then it can work automatically after the B1iSN server is up and running again?

  • How to configure multiple listeners to listen for the same instance.

    Hello everyone,
I am running oracle database 11g and I want information regarding how to configure multiple listeners to listen for the same database instance. Actually I know how to configure more than one listener but the main thing that I am confused about is when we create listener.ora file, do we have to statically register the database instance with both the listeners or the instance will register itself with both the listeners.
According to my knowledge the instance will register with the listener specified by LOCAL_LISTENER parameter and we cannot have more than one value for this parameter.
Please only give detailed answers with example as I am tired of simple answers with details that I already know.

    Hello,
Yes, it can make sense to have several listener for one Oracle instance. For instance you may have one listener for the applications another listener for DBA administration tasks as well as one listener dedicated to dataguard broker. It is not possible to have several listeners listening on the same IP and Port.
By default the database try to automatically register to a listener on port 1521. To instruct the instance to register to a specifc list of listeners you can add in the init.ora the local_listener parameter with an alias definition:
    i.e
    local_listener=MY_SET_OFF_LISTENERS
in your tnsname.ora add an entry called:
    MY_SET_OFF_LISTENERS_LOCAL= (ADDRESS_LIST=
    (ADRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myhostname)(PORT=1530))
    (ADRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myhostname)(PORT=1531))
    (ADRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myhostname)(PORT=1532))
In this sample your instance will register to three listeners listening on respectively port 1530, 1531 and 1532
If you want your clients can be balanced over the 3 listeners

  • How to set no archive log in MS SQL

    Dear Gurus,
I'll already did the support package upgrade and need to run the SGEN.But before that I'll need to set the archive log in MS SQL 2005 database.
Kindly please help me,how to set "no archive log " in MS SQL .Then I can run the SGEN.After that how to revert back to "enable archive log mode".
All the posting told about the archive log with Oracle.
    Thanks
    /Shah

    Hi Shah,
In MS SQL Server, Transaction log is used to write log files.
For eg., Intially if you allocate 10GB to the Tr.Log and can set the limit based on your requirement, say as 11GB. It means it wont grow beyond the point 11GB.
If you take a transactional log backup, the data present in the 10GB file is freed up, but the size of the file would remain same.
This can be truncated by shrinking the log file.
    1. Open SQL Mgmt studio.
    2. Right click on the DB(SID)> Tasks>Shrink-->Files.
    3. Choose "Log" in the file type and "Log File Name" in the Filename column.
    4. Shrink Action should be "Release Unused Space"
    5. Then Click Ok. The unused space will be released.
The Transaction log can be switched off by changing the Recovery Model to "SIMPLE"
    1. Click on the DB(SID)
    2. Properties>Options>Recovery Model.
    3. If the recovery model is set to Simple, the Transaction log wont be written.
Hope this would help you. Revert for any other clarification.

    Kamesh

  • How to set upper and lower limit for service notification in SPRO

    Hello everyone,
    Good morning....!!
I am new to SAP PM and to SCN as well.
I have a question on Service notification user status.
I  have notification profile configured in SAP as below:
Status no      Status          Short text              Lower limit          Upper limit
    5                  REGD          Registered                1                          70
    10                PCKS            Pack sent                  1                          70
    20                APRC            Application received  1                        70
    etc..
I want the statusesto be set as  navigation should only allow to go back one by one...like from APRC -->PCKS not to REGD.From PCKS -->REGD etc..not vice versa.
Can enayone explain me to how to set lower and upper limits for these according ot the above requirement.
for more details please check my attachment.
    Thanks in advance..!!
    Regards,
    Sudha.

Once you change the status to previous status, just save the order. Then again open the order & try to change the user status.
Just I made replica of your profile. I could able to change (even without saving the order).

  • How to configure automatic printing of picklist for an OBD?

    Hi Experts,
Can you pleae let me know how to configure automatic printing of picklist for an OBD?
    Thanks,
    Shetty

    1. To see whether picking list (EK00) is generated:
VL02n open the delivery -> menu bar -> extrax -> picking output .
Is EK00 there? If not, it means that EK00 is not generated for this delivery.
If EK00 is green -> it means that it has been printed.
If it's yellow -> it means that it hasn't been printed yet. Now you have to goto VL70 to print it.
    2. To generate a picking output for one delivery, you have to do:
[1] In customizing of shipping point, (img -> enterprise structure -> defination -> logistics execution ->shipping point), you have to set picking output  (TVST-KSCHL).
[2] Item is relevant for picking, and plant/storage location is not assigned to a warehouse.
[3] Set default print parameter in customizing.  (IMG -> Logistics Execution -> Shipping -> basic function -> output control ->define print parameter -> V4 -> for you picking output type -> assign default print parameter to shipping point ).
