OWB Error RTC-5273

Hello
I'm new in OWB and when I try to deploy the first mapping I've tried to do appears this error:
RTC-5273: Location (the name of my location) is registered as a non-target location and so cannot be deployed to. Please register it as a target location or select a different location. The current deployment operation will be aborted.
When I click ok on that window, the deployment stops and it doesn't appear no window to change the location or something similar so I don't know where should I go to change the location.
I've made some new locations but I don't see where to specify that I want that this location to be a target location.
Can someone help me? Thanks a lot.

Oh, I didn't know that because when I made a location I think I didn't create a new user. So how or where can I see that location user?
I've gone to Locations Navigator/Locations/Databases/Oracle/ where "My_Location" is, that is,by the way, the only location I have apart from OBW_REPOSITORY_LOCATION, and in "My location" the user name is the same name from the user that is registered on Globlas Navigator/Security/Users.
So I'm sure I'm not looking in the right place or maybe I've missed to do something. So I don't know where to look for. Thnaks

  • Error RTC-5346 in registering target location in OWB Deployment manager.

    Hello!
Dear experts, I've got DB 10GR2 and I downloaded OWB 10.1. I've installed OWB successfully and began to look through the samples. And during my trying to register a target location (when I looked through the sample "Deploying targets") I’ve got an error : “RTC-5346 :the oracle database location 10.1 is not equal to target version 10.2”. As I mentioned before, my DB’s version is 10.2 and OWB’s version is 10.1. May be it is the matter?
So, what would you suggest me in such a situation? Do I have to fulfill any patches or something like that?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alexey.

    Detlef,
your right. Apparently, the information I got only applied to OWB 10g versions 10.1.0.2.0 and 10.1.0.3.0 which are not certified against an DB 10g R2, because of BUG 4537766...
For 10.1.0.4.0 there is indeed no problem.
    Grtz.
    Philip.

  • OWB Error while generating Code for a mapping

I have a simple mapping loading from a source to a flat file. When I try to generate code it gives me the following Error
VLD-2357: Target Data File name not specified for file <target Flat file name>.
I am new to OWB so any help on the same will be greatly appreciated. How can I specify target Data File name in the mapping configuration under Flat file operators
    Thanks
    Anish

If you configure the mapping in the UI from the main design tree and select the name of your file operator under the tree node 'Flat File Operators' on the right hand side panel the properties should be displayed - one of these properties is 'Target Data File Name', enter the name of your target data file name.

    Hi Allan,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
I have checked in OWB\Locations\Database\Oracle\Location\DB Connectors and also in Control Center\Location\Connectors,seems like there is no connectors created.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Also i analyzed the UpdateControlCenter.sql in that
    select value into v_connectiontype from cmpstringpropertyvalue_v where logicalname = 'CMPLocation_ConnectionType' and propertyowner = v_elementid;
    the qry returns 'SQL*NET'.
    Any workaround for these???
    Please reply.

  • OWB: Error while trying to Generate

I have a project defined in OWB 3i and everything was working fine till last week. Today while I am trying to
generate a mapping it is giving the following error
Locking error, unable to continue with generation.
Another wierd thing I noticed is, when you go to configure option for mappings, under operators the only option
available now is access specification. It does not show hints, partition etc at all.
All the mappings in this module got the same problems while mapping from other module in the same
project can be generated sucessfully. I am thinking this is an issue at module level. And validation happens fine
    for these mappings.
I tried all the basic things like every one logged out and getting the repository data base and target
    database bounced.
Has anyone encountered this before, please pass on any information which might help.

What i have experience is that if you use Decode inside the expression the OWB cannot validate it .
    But it will execute perfect.
Use Case statement so that you can validate it and debug then

  • OWB error table is not working?

    Dear Oracle Experts,
    I new to oracle OWB.
Platform Oracle 11gr2 in centos linux
i have created a new mapping which transfers the data between two schemas.when I deploy i didnt face any errors and when i run the mapping it shows log
    ORA-00001 unique constraint (RAHS2MIG1.PK_OBJECT) VOILATED.
IS it possible to record this message in Error table? Please if any one know how to record the error in error table.
I can only able to edit dml error table name box in property inspector but i cannot able to edit error table name.
    Also
I have created the error table with the sql
    SQL> connect rahs2mig1/rahs2mig1
    Connected.
    begin
    dbms_errlog.create_error_log('migrationinfo','ERROR$_MIG') ;
    end;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
I have created the table ERROR$_MIG for the target schema object migrationinfo. After clicking the start option in the mapping.
ORA-00001 unique constraint (RAHS2MIG1.PK_OBJECT) VOILATED. error shows only in the log.
No errors record in the ERROR$_MIG table.
    Please advise.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Vijay,
IT isn't enough to define the error table at the DB level. You must also inform the mapping to generate code to utilize that error table. If you check the properties on the table object in the mapping you will find that there is an ERROR TABLE NAME property that you need to set to the name of the error table.
Also note that the ORACLE syntax to put errors into the error table requires that the mapping be doing set-based processing, so check and make sure that you are indeed generating and running in set-based mode.
    Cheers,

  • OWB error message - Import service related

    Hi,
I get this message when I try to use the Import Metadata wizard in OWB - 11.
Import service failed when try to make connection to the metadata location and got the following error:java.lang.NullPointerException .
I have also registered the user and tested the corresponding user connection.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I have got this issue resolved by installing the Oracle 11 E-Edition . Guess that's the only way this can be resolved. As though the Personal edition offers most of the Enterprise Edition options , including OLAP , there is an issue when owb queries the v$version view of the personal edition (searches for 'Oracle%' and does not get a result) due to which this error arises.
If there are any other alternate approaches , do suggest for the common good.
    Many thanks.

  • Getting following error RTC-5325

    Hi,
I am getting the following error when runing a mapping. I am trying parse xml file using varry, but got the following error.
RTC-5325: The generator was unable to produce any valid objects, please correct the source object(s) before trying to deploy again.
    Regards

It's an old post but hope it could help someone :)
You need to validate the object you are trying to deploy/run.
May be a dependant object has some errors.
    E.g.:
    1. A table deployment can fail if a table referenced by a foreign key is not available.
    2. A Process flow deployment can fail if there is an invalid process in the same process flow package.

I'm getting this error when I import a table into the repository. any ideas?
created with second class object failure

    Hello!
Second class objects are columns, indexes, constraints etc. Probably some of these contains reserved OWB keywords. You can check what went wrong by drilling down to these objects on the results screen.

  • OWB Error handling through error tables

I have a mapping, which i want to implement error handling through error table, the table is created (error) and i have supplied it in the error table propertis in the target table. But i have tried testing if this is working by changing the data type of one column in my target database, but the whole mapping is failing to run with no error rerded in the error table. And i tried testing the this through sql and suprisingly the errors are being captured. How do i get the whole mapping to run and record the errors if any in the error table without it failing.

When you say 'the whole mapping is failing to run' what do you mean? Can you deploy the mapping? If not what is the error? When you run the mapping what happens?
If you look at the DML statement (the INSERT, MERGE or whatever) generated by OWB does it include the LOG ERRORS INTO statement in it?
    There is a blog post below for OWB 11gR2;

  • OWB error log table

    Hi All,
I am using OWB 11.2. In the target table property inspector under error table i have specified a error table and when i deploy my mapping it gets created on my target schema. Is there any way i can change the setting and get the error table created on some other schema.? We dont want to have the error table and reporting/target tables on the same reporting/target schema.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Kanwar

    Hi Kanwar,
you cannot create the error table in another schema using owb. You have to do it manually:
    as user1:
    begin
    dbms_errlog.create_error_log('DIM_DEMO','DIM_DEMO_ERR', 'USER2') ;
    end;
    /as user2:
grant select, insert, update , delete on USER2.dim_demo_err to USER1;In the mapping, you can specify the error table with schema: USER2.dim_demo_er
