OWB File_exist

Dear all,
In my OWB 10.2.0.2.8 project I created a process flow which simply contains a file_exists activity. The structure of my process is the following:
START->FILE_EXIST
IF(FILE_EXISTS=MISSING)->TRASFORMATION(LOG MISSING)->END_ERROR
IF(FILE_EXISTS=SOME_EXISTS)->TRASFORMATON(LOG SOME_EXISTS)->END_ERROR
IF(FILE_EXISTS=EXISTS) -> TRASFORMATION(LOG EXISTS) -> END_SUCCESS
If file exist, after I run this process in my log table i find a record with missing and another record with exists. Instead, if file not exist, log table contain only Missing record. Have you any Idea?

Also, not that you shouldn't get to the bottom of this, but you should be aware that any of your development or mapping changes are likely still being saved to the respository.
In other words, you could continue working and just ignore these errors. We ran into this situation (it was indeed simply file permissions on the owb directories), but we noticed right away that at least our actual OWB work was in fact still being committed to the respository every time.

  • How to implement wait activity in OWB process flows?

    Hi,
    I am using OWB 10G R1.
    There is no wait activity in process flows.
    My scenario is, whenver a trigger file is created, I want to proceed with the process flow. If the trigger file doesnot exist, then I want to put the process flow in a wait state, until the trigger file is created.
    Here I used File_Exists activity. But it is checking for the file only once. And it returns warning.
    After that, I want to add an wait activity for certain period of time. How can I do this? Is there is any package,procedure or function to do that?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Gowtham Sen.

    Gowtham,
    Well the following hint is provided by oracle warehouse builder help.........
    The time-out setting for the workflow engine determines how long the File Exist activity waits for a file. If the file does not arrive before the time-out setting expires, the File Exists activity terminates with errors.
    well someone with deep workflow knowledge can answer this one...
    If you get the answer please share with us.....
    Regards,
    Suraj.

  • Error while deploying a workflow in OWB

    Hi,
    I am getting the below error while deploying a workflow in Control Center.
    ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.sql.SQLException: The file /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2/dbhome_1/owb/bin/admin/rtrepos.properties cannot be accessed or has not been properly created on the server XXXXXX. If the file does not exist or if the database owner (normally user 'oracle') does not have the required file permissions or if the file has not been properly created then the file can be recreated by running the SQL*Plus script /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2/dbhome_1/owb/rtp/sql/reset_repository.sql (in a RAC environment the file must be manually copied to each server which is used for OWB). Otherwise if using a 10.2 database instance, then please run the SQL*Plus script /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2/dbhome_1/owb/UnifiedRepos/reset_owbcc_home.sql.

    Hi Vidyanand,
    Did you create the runtime access user using the runtime assistant? Did you select the correct runtime repository (if you have more) to associate your runtime access user with?
    Note that there are 4 database roles being created when you create a runtime repository owner:
    - OWB_A_<runtime repository owner>
    - OWB_D_<runtime repository owner>
    - OWB_R_<runtime repository owner>
    - OWB_U_<runtime repository owner>
    If you would grant those roles to a user, then that user becomes an access user for the user with username <runtime repository owner>.
    Note that you can also use the runtime repository credentials to connect to the runtime repository for deployment purposes, but you may not want that because of security concerns.
    Thanks,
    Mark.

    Does this mean, ... we have to install the OWB 64 bit and install a new repository in the 64 bit server?In my opinion you don't need to create new repository.
    After migrating database to 64bit perform steps from Metalink note 434272.1 "How To Update Warehouse Builder 10.2 After A Database Cloning".
    It is better to save the same path for new OWB 64bit software. If you install OWB into different path you need to update OWBRTPS table with new path to OWB software (look at metalink note 550271.1).

  • Error while installing OWB

    Error while installing OWB
    after 50% install.. it says
    "Error in writing to file c:\oracle\ora9201\bin\oci.dll
    The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process"
    Apparently I have restarted the workstation and closed all oracle related services in services and no other program is running expect the installer.
    Can any one help in resolving the issue. Or can I hit the ignore button and continue installing?

    Always install OWB into a new ORACLE_HOME unless the Installation and Configuration Guide states otherwise. This has only happened twice. OWB 9.0.2.62.3 was the last version to allow installation into an existing ORACLE_HOME. Another thing you can do is go to www.sysinternals.com and download the utility LISTDLLs. It is great. From a command prompt, start it with the syntax: listdlls >log.txt
    This will output the DLLs in use and which executable is using it. Search for the DLL in the log.txt and scroll up until the double line. The executable name locking the DLL will be above the double line. If you have the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator Service running on the client, it will lock Oracle DLLs. This has been a common issue in the past, going back to the days of Data Mart Suite. This was documented in the Release Notes for it and may still be in the system in a note somewhere. It is in: DMS: Unable To Install; Filesopen/Service Running On Compaq Server Doc ID: Note:1080977.6 and Certain Files which need to be Reinstalled are Being Used Doc ID: Note:117672.1
    The first note I wrote back before 2000.

    Please help me regarding this. I am new to the owb 11g.

    Thanks for you reply. Still I can't view the data. Actually what i did is imported a .csv file using files then created a external table configured , validated and deployed.In next step created a mapping with this excel this using table operator validated and genrated code. In next step using the control center manager i deployed it. But i can't view the data still in the external table.

    Hi ,
    What is your OWB version ?
    If it is 10.2 then read the following
    With Warehouse Builder 10.2.0.X, the Repository Browser Listener is only supported on Windows x86-32bit and linux x86-32bit client machine.
    So start the Warehouse Builder Repository Browser Listener on Windows/Linux x86-32bit client machine

    Hi all,

  • How to use the Table Function defined  in package in OWB?

    Hi,
    I defined a table function in a package. I am trying to use that in owb using Table function operator. But I came to know that, owb R1 supports only standalone table functions.
    Is there any other way to use the table function defined in a package. As like we create synonyms for functions, is there any other way to do this.
    I tryed to create synonyms, it is created. But it is showing compilation error. Finally I found that, we can't create synonyms for functions which are defined in packages.
    Any one can explain it, how to resolve this problem.
    Thank you,
    Regards
    Gowtham Sen.

    Hi Marcos,
    Thank you for reply.
    OWB R1 supports stand alone table functions. Here what I mean is, the table fucntion which is not inculded in any package is a stand alone table function.
    for example say sample_tbl_fn is a table function. It is defined as a function.It is a stand alone function. We call this fucntion as "samp_tbl_fn()";
    For exampe say sample_pkg is a package. say a function is defined in a package.
    then we call that function as sample_pkg.functionname(); This is not a stand alone function.
    I hope you understand it.
    owb supports stand alone functions.
    Here I would like to know, is there any other way to use the functions which are defined in package. While I am trying to use those functions (which are defined in package -- giving the name as packagename.functionname) it is throwing an error "Invalid object name."
    Here I would like know, is there any other way to use the table functions which are defined in a package.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Gowtham Sen.
