Paasing dynamic parameter to Run reports type of form function

Hi,
I want to create form function "XXFORMFUNCTION"which can be invoked as a concurrent program in SRS window. So that the click of button, I will call form function "XXFORMFUNCTION", and it will invoke a concurrent program.
To do this, I have created form fucntion of "Run reports" type and passed parameters as
CONCURRENT_PROGRAM_NAME = 'FNDACTIVEUSER' PROGRAM_SHORT_NAME = 'FND'.
But my requirement is to pass this CONCURRENT_PROGRAM_NAME as a parameter. In above case I have hard coded it.
I want something like this
CONCURRENT_PROGRAM_NAME = &prg PROGRAM_SHORT_NAME =&appl
I will pass &prg and &appl as a parameter to form function from OAF form..
How to achieve this?
Regards,
Parag

I was able to get a Page item set to the value I want to use in my tabular form.
I created a Page Item 'P1358_HOLD_ATTENDANCE_CODE' and I can see it getting set to the correct value.
I tried to create another TRUE condition in my Dynamic Action to set the tab form select list item (f03), but it's not working.
here is what I tried:
var row = $x_UpTill(this.triggeringElement, 'TR');
var otherElement = $('input[name="f03"]', row)[0];
otherElement.value = $x('P1358_HOLD_ATTENDANCE_CODE').value;

  • How to use dynamic parameter when a report is created using Stored Procedures

    Hi all,
    any one have the idea of how to use dynamic parameter in crystal report XI R2
    when report is created using Stored Procedure.
    Regards
    shashi kant chauhan

    Hi
    You can create an SQL command in Database Expert > Expand your datasource > Add command
    Then enter the SQL query that will create the list of values to supply to the user
    eg select field1,field2 from table
    Then edit the parameter of the report.  These will be the SP parameters adn can be seen in field explorer.
    Change the parameter type to Dynamic
    Under the word Value click on Click here to add item
    Scroll down to your Command and select one of the values that you want to appear in the list
    e.g field1
    Then click on the Parameters field - this is essential to create the param
    You can edit other options as required
    That should do it for you.
    I must say that i use CR 2008 connected to Oracle 10g SP, but i reckon this will work for SQL DB and CR XI as well
    Best of luck

  • Running Reports within a Form 10g (versus 6i)

    Ok, I've read quite a few threads on here and a whitepaper on running Reports in 10g and I'm still having trouble.
    1.) In Client/Server 6i, we used to the HOST command. I know I can use the WebUtil utility to make the existing code trying to work but, I don't want to do that initially. I want to use the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT and WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT to make this work. I'm using RHEL 5 to try and do this.
    - Where my trouble lies is the URL that makes it work. I thought the URL I have to pass is "Http:server:port/reports/rwservlet/getjobid-jobid?server-reports_server_name. It's not launching at all so I was wondering if I did something wrong. I'm just used to the HOST command so, I'm not sure what I have to pass to make this work. I have a report that I can launch in Report Builder and bring up in Previewer but, I want to run via my Oracle Form now.
    2.) We do overnight reporting where we spit out a queue of reports and in client/server, we have a command that generates all the reports on the server then, when the users come in the morning, all they have to do is open a screen and print. Is there a way to do this batch type processing for large number of reports? Mind you, during these report generation, we have reports that print out to several different paper sizes so we rendered that are part of the parameter when generating them.
    Any help is appreciate in this matter. I realize these are not easy questions so I appreciate any feedback one can give in either matter. For this thread, I'm more interested in the answer to #1 for now.
    Regards,
    Chris

    Don't know if these are typos in your url, the correct url is
    Http://server:port/reports/rwservlet/getjobidJOBID?server=reports_server_nametry to "type" the url in an empty brower-window to check if its correct.
    On "batch reporting", have a look at the database package srw, which comes with the 10DS-installation (the scripts are located in $ORACLE_HOME/reports/server/sql)

  • Run report 9i from form builder 9i

    Dear all,
    I build report from report builder 9i.
    How to run this report in form builder 9i.
    Best regards,
    Jansen Hutagalung.

    Jansen,
    I really like short questions, but yours missing the point. What do you mean by running Reports from Forms builder? Do you mean how to run it from a Forms application started from Forms builder? There is a Whitepaper in teh collateral section of otn.oracle.com/products/forms that immediately makes you an expert in Forms/Reports integration

  • Can not run Reports from a Form

    Hello,
    First: I'm completely new to Oracle, even my english is not very good - i'm sorry for that.
    Problem:
    I want to run a report from a Form using the Report Server.
    If i use:
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://tfischer:8888/reports/rwservlet?report=C:\Oracle-Projekte\testbericht.rdf&USERID=user/password@oraapp&SERVER=SrvShadow&DESFORMAT=html&DESTYPE=cache', '_blank') - everything works well.
    But if i use:
    repid := FIND_REPORT_OBJECT('REPORT_NAME');
    v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid); - always following Error-Message appears:
    "FRM41213: Anmeldung bei Report-Server SrvShadow nicht möglich" (english: registration on Report-Server SrvShadow not possible)
    I am using:
    Windows 2000
    Oracle DS9i
    Oracle DB92 (Personal edition)
    Can somebody help me, please?
    If you need more information, to help me, please ask.

    Hi,
    Try using
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY
    (repid,REPORT_SERVER,"YOURSERVERNAME");
    before
    v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT;
    If you are testing the report on your PC using reports services on your PC then you may need to initiailize the reprots server using
    rwserver server="YOURSERVERNAME" install
    at command prompt.
    Hope this helps.

  • Long parameter list in report call crashes forms

    Hi,
    I'm using Forms6i (client server) to call a report. The report has 15 parameters. I concat all the parameter into a string l_parameter_string, then call SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(l_report_object, REPORT_OTHER,l_other_parameters);
    The report runs successfully, but when I close the report,forms crashes. This error seems to occur when the lenght of l_parameter_string > 160 chars, if the length of l_parameter_string < 160, the problem does not occur.
    Has anyone come across a limitation on the length of a parameter string for calling a report,
    thanks in advance

    Parameter List pl_id cannot be sent in url as you are saying,
    rather
    you have to sent each parameter separately, with parameter name that must be defined at report.
    e.g.
    http://testserver:9002/reports/rwservlet?destype=cache&desformat=html&paramform=yes&report=\\testserver\forms\L00000001.rdf&userid=globe/oracle@globe&repserver=RptSvr_globe_asinst_1&p_val1=1243&p_val2=8987
    In above url
    p_val1 and p_val2 must be defined in your report to capture the data coming from Calling Form or Report.
    Hope this will resolve your problem.

  • System hang after when try to run report from a form

    Hi all,

    Below is part of the code that will call the report to print within the form.
    declare

         printername VARCHAR2(50);
    begin
         PL_ID := GET_PARAMETER_LIST('WEIGHMENT');

    i got it
    just make report out of SSO by the steps
    If you don't want to use Single Sign-On:
    Edit $ORACLE_HOME\reports\conf\rwservlet.properties
    Change #SINGLESIGNON=YES to SINGLESIGNON=NO
    Log in to the Enterprise Manager website at http://<server_name>:18100
    Navigate to the Report server page. Click on the "Edit Configuration File" link.
    Delete the section that reads
    <security id="rwSec" class="oracle.reports.server.RWSecurity">
    <!--property name="securityUserid" value="%PORTAL_DB_USERNAME%/%PORTAL_DB_PASSWORD%@%PORTAL_DB_TNSNAME%" confidential="yes" encrypted="no"/-->
    <property name="oidEntity" value="reportsApp_apps10_85643151B9D911DCAF4E278FF4D47F77"/>
    </security>
    Press “OK” and let EMWebsite restart the reports server. or restart all
    and it will work ...

  • Running Reports in RAR formely known as Compliance Calibrator

    Hello,
    I am hoping that someone can assist me with trying to run a report that will give me a total count on these two criteria:
    But, can I get the Active Rules only:
    1. by Risk Level
    2. by Process
    Thanks,
    Valarie Sanders

    Hi Valarie,
    Does the Management view of rule library satisfy your criteria here?
    If not then you can integrate AC and BI and customize your reports to get active risks based on Business Process.

    Can you explain what exactly you mean "If the form is minimized" ?
    What exact Reports & Forms version are you using ?
    Is this error consistent whenever you run a web report ?
    Are you getting for any web report / for a specific Report ?

  • How to pass a parameter from a report to multiple forms in the same page

    Hi:
    i have a report and a lot of forms in the same page. The fact is that i want to stablish a link over a filed in the report which would make some information appear in those forms so that information could be updated. For example: i have a report with company names. Over those names i want to put a link. When the link would be pressed the forms would reflect the information about that comany. Is this possible to be done? how can i do this or something similar?
    Thanks.
    Regards. Urko.

    Please see post Re: session state security
    It has been done for a single form in a page and can be extended to multiple forms as well.

  • How to pass dynamic parameter to a database function in OBIEE

    Hi,
    I have a requirement like this. I have to create one report in OBIEE which was in Discoverer. Now in discoverer report there are some calculated item in the worksheet based on database pkg.functions. The parameter which user gives at run time that parameters are then passed to the discoverer calculated items dynamically. But I am not able to do this in OBIEE answers.
    Can anyone tell me step by step how I can able to pass the user selected parameter values in OBIEE answer level.
    The example:
    GET_COMM_VALUE_PTD("AFE Cost & Commitment".Afe Id,:"Period Name(AFE)","AFE Cost & Commitment".Data Sel,"AFE Cost & Commitment".Org Id)
    GET_COMM_VALUE_PTD --- Function database
    ("AFE Cost & Commitment".Afe Id,:"Period Name(AFE)","AFE Cost & Commitment".Data Sel,"AFE Cost & Commitment".Org Id --- Parameters... :"Period Name(AFE)" is the dynamic parameter selected run time by user.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Titas

    Hi,
    I already did that. But the existing discoverer re value report is showing correct value but the OBIEE report with EVALUATE function shows incorrect value.
    The requirement is to create a OBIEE Dashboard from a Discoverer existing report. Now in discoverer report theere are several calculated items in worksheet level where database custom function is used and user selected parameter value is passed run time in that function. But when that is created in OBIEE with EVALUATE function in RPD, the report shows incorrect data. Could not understand how to pass the parameter value runtime.
    Below is the discoverer 'Show SQL' query and EVALUATE function syntax which has been used.
    SELECT APPS.XXBG_PL_PROJ_ANALYSIS_AFE_PKG.GET_COMM_VALUE_PTD(XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.AFE_ID,
    :"Period Name(AFE)",
    XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.DATA_SEL,
    XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.ORG_ID),
    XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.AFE_DESC,
    XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.AFE_NUMBER,
    XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.APPROVED_AFE_AMOUNT
    FROM APPS.PA_PERIODS_ALL PA_PERIODS_ALL,
    APPS.XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V
    WHERE ((XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.ORG_ID = PA_PERIODS_ALL.ORG_ID))
    AND (XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.DATA_SEL = :"Data Selection(AFE)")
    AND (PA_PERIODS_ALL.PERIOD_NAME = :"Period Name(AFE)")
    AND (XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.AFE_NUMBER = :"AFE Number(AFE)")
    AND (XXBG_PL_PROJ_AFE_V.OPERATING_UNIT = :"Operating Unit(AFE)")
    The EVALUATE function syntax is as below:
    EVALUATE('XXBG_PL_PROJ_ANALYSIS_AFE_PKG.GET_COMM_VALUE_PTD(%1,%2,%3,%4)' AS FLOAT , "BG PL Project Analysis Report_1"."AFE Cost & Commitment"."AFE Cost & Commitment.Afe Id", "BG PL Project Analysis Report_1"."Periods 1"."Periods 1.Period Name", "BG PL Project Analysis Report_1"."AFE Cost & Commitment"."AFE Cost & Commitment.Data Sel", "BG PL Project Analysis Report_1"."AFE Cost & Commitment"."AFE Cost & Commitment.Org Id")
    The PERIOD needs to be passed at run time which user will select.
    Please help to solve the issue.

  • Dynamic Parameter Prompting for Database Connection Password When schedulin

    I'm having problems with Dynamic Parameters when I try to schedule a report in InfoView.
    I create the report in Crystal Reports XI and publish it to the Crystal Server. I go into CMC and under Process:Database set the correct data source and enter the server, database, user and password.
    When the report is run I can choose a dynamic parameter and the reports runs fine - it's when I try to schedule the report and choose the parameter that I am asked to enter the user and password for the database.
    If the parameter is static it's fine and I don't get prompted. Because I want the end-users to schedule their own reports I need to have the user and password embedded in the report.
    From what I've read in the forums, there seems to be a lot of issues with dynamic parameters and database logons, and no real solutions. But this is just weird that it's only failing when I try to schedule the report!

    I am having the same issue.
    Issue started on 9/25/2008
    Existing BO 11r2 installation including service pack 2
    Windows Server 2003 Service pack 2
    Existing scheduled reports do not exhibit this behaviour and run correctly.
    Add new or update existing report. Log into the CMC as administrator and set process for database and parameters.
    Exit CMC
    log into Infoview.  Click on report and run (as administrator OR as existing user with permissions) NO PROBLEM.
    Log into Infoview as Administrator or existing users with permissions) as attempt to schedule report.  All reports Any dynamic parameter and request for user name and password opens.  Once the correct info is entered the report can be scheduled.
    This is a new issue on our installation, we have been running without problems for over a year.
    Any help appreciated.

  • How to create a dynamic parameter off a universe field

    Post Author: Summer Frend
    CA Forum: General
    Hello,
    I am trying to create a dynamic parameter in Crystal Reports off my universe field. However the fields appear to all come in as STRING with length 65534 (memo field?). Therefore the fields are not available to choose in my parameter creation box. NOTE: In the universe designer, the field is set as CHARACTER type. I am just trying to make it work with the sample universes that are shipped with BobJ.
    Is there a way in the Universe Designer to make the fields come into Crystal Reports as string fields so that I can choose them as the value for the dynamic parameter in Crystal Reports?
    Thanks,
    Summer Frend

    I'll try again,
    My problem is that I want a dynamic paramater for my Master flow (on START1 activity, so it is something like that : start1.param = select seq.nextval form dual; or from a function GET_PROCESS_ID) but it seems that I must give a permanent parameter it can not be set dynamicaly. I want my flow to be independant of any human intervention. So if it is the first load it does one thing if not the first load it does something else. I can not understand the point of having a parameter (in) that can not be set dynamicaly (looks more like a constant to me, or I'm missing something here). Hope your getting my point.
    Thanks again
    Jacques
