Pac Man Lite Application

I purchase the "freebie" Pac Man app, and when trying to sync, I get the "This program cannot be installed on this iPod, it is not compatible" (paraphrased). Anyone else get this message? All other 100+ apps that I bought work fine...
Not sure what to do... I have done a reset and a complete restore, but no luck...

Hi Scott Kendall1,
I think I have found the reason for this message. As you can see [here|http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=2937787 48&mt=8], it clearly says "Requirements: +Compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch (2nd Generation)"+
I'm pretty sure you have the iPod Touch (1st Generation) and therefore you're unable to install this application. Still, I'd recommend you to contact the iTunes Customer Support, by filling out [this form|http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/browser>.
Hope this helps!

If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then check the settings for the Firefox application.
Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

  • CS-Man: Pac-Man (the game, not the package manager!) clone in Java/SWT

Wasn't sure whether this would go here or Off Topic, but w/e.
I'm working on a Pac-Man clone for my AP Computer Science class, me and a friend. We're using Java and the SWT toolkit to write a suckish Pac-Man clone. We've been working on it for 2-3 weeks now, and have a few more weeks to go. Keep in mind, this is AP Comp Sci -- not very advanced, though are project is a bit above and beyond We're just beginners, although we're both pretty certainly heading into programming as careers.
You can check out the project, code, etc. at http://sourceforge.net/projects/cs-man . Bug reports and feature requests are very much welcome (not so much the latter actually, we have plans for more features than we'll ever get done already), but actual code is not -- it's BSD-licensed, but we need to do the project ourselves
The current code doesn't do much at all, but it's close to working player movement. There are some obvious gaffes, but it's 2am and I just wanted to commit the code and work more tomorrow, so those should be fixed soon. The structure resembles to a large degree the GridWorld case study.
The app works fine on Arch with GTK+ and on Windoze, and should on OS X as well (try SWT 3.5 development). Check out the code, add a user library called SWT with your SWT JAR and possibly source (Arch has these stored in /usr/share/eclipse/plugins/ or something like that), and try.
And yes, the images and such are (obviously) just for testing. They look like crap, and the psychedelic Pac-Man pics we have aren't even transparent.
    Anyways, I'm off to bed.

I thought I could have a looksie, since I aspire to be a teaching assistant in an introductory java course this fall. Java is not really my forte, though - i don't know many API's, just enough for the university courses. I've never used SWT.
So, after fiddling a bit to get it working (I put SWT in my classpath, copied the image directory into src/ and started the app from there - could probably have buildt a jar or something too, but there was no makefile), here are some comments:
I'm not saying all suggestions I make are better, I'd just like to know your reasoning. Some of them are just better, though
    1. Include a makefile/ant-makefile/cmake-file/scons-file/something. And a readme.
    2. GUI::map - why shorts? Why not bytes?
    3. Keeping references to all images in all classes makes for a lot of bookkeeping, and horrible constructor argument lists.  I'd create a helper class that serves up images (something like an ImageCollection -  images.getImage(ImageCollection::DOT)). Bonus: Themable application! Just implement a simple config file for the images at loading time
This funcitonality could also be contained in MobMaze, as asking the Maze how it looks seems reasonable enough, and it seems most classes already keep a reference to it.
Now, the next step is to decouple as much image handling as possible from the mObject derived classes. I'd make mObject hold a class variable that refers to the constant (or enum value) of the corresponding image - now MobMaze can use that value, and the mObject classes never have to touch a Image. Of course, the chomping logic for Player (and some state logic for having the trolls turn blue) must be implemented in overridden methods.
    4. Using shorts everywhere is not likely to speed up your code on 32 bit machines.
    5. In 'special' constructors, like Location::Location(int,int) - don't duplicate functionality from the general main worker constructor (Location::Location(int,int,int)). Call the main constructor with the default argument, instead. Keep the DRY principle in mind
But good work! This is a fair bit more ambitious than I was in my programs for class.
Anyway, I hope I made some sense. I'll see if I feel like having a more in-depth look.

  • Bought Pac-Man, Downloads but will not show up in my libary. Charged 3 time

Ok, I went to the music store, then went to games and I signed in and purchased Pac-Man. Everything is cool, it downloads pretty quickly, I belive it was 8.28 mb or something like that and once its finished downloading it simply vanishes, it did not go in to my libary, or my playlist, I couldnt find it anywhere. So I checked my paypal account to see if the charge went through and when I bought movies from itunes before it charged me instantly, this time there was no charge. So I thought maybe it didnt purchase it so I try it one more time, the exact same thing happens, downloads and its no where to be found, then I check paypal still nothing, I tried one more time and it did the exact same thing. I checked my paypal the other day and it say -$15 from itunes, so i checked my invoice and it said pac-man x3 each one being $5 bucks. Its one thing to charged 3 times for the same thing but I dont even have the game to show for it. Yes I have a 5th gen ipod, yes I have the most current version of itunes and yes I had my itunes check for purchases, it says all my purchases have successfully downloaded. Does anyone know where my 3 pac-man games are, or what I need to do to get them?
    Thanks.
Tl;dr bought pac-man, downloads successfully but does not save/stay in my libary/itunes.

I had this exact same problem when I updated to iOS 7 , so I contacted iBooks there information to me was to completely reboot my iPad and iPhone 5s , and then when it's rebooted ( sorry delete the app before rebooting , my mistake ) after it's rebooted download app again , and ask for previous purchases to be restored , was done in seconds , and I lost 7 books , all on my devices now , if I don't read for a while they just automatically get put into the cloud , and just download to read , hope this helps . And please delete app before rebooting , john.

  • Pac-man question (and more...)

    Hi there y'all,
Can anyone explain what the difference is between original and normal modes in pac-man?
Also, does anyone know when more games will come out. I'm DYING to have Sudoku on my iPod. That would be sooooo perfect.
    Dan P.

    Hi Dan!
I know I don't have any experience with Pac-man, but you may want to email the makers of this game at this address: [email protected]
Also, does anyone know when more games will come out. I'm DYING to have Sudoku on my iPod. That would be sooooo perfect.
Nobody knows if Apple will come out with new games for iPods anytime soon or not (also, if you see the Terms of Use, we shouldn't discuss future Apple products).
You can, though, drop Apple a note on their iPod Feedback form. They will read what you have to say, and, if they have enough requests that game, it may be added in a future version of iTunes.
    I hope this helps you,

  • How to get more Pac-Man sounds

Im getting a constant error message: "you can't open the application PACE because PowerPC applications are no longer supported". I cant find PACE to delete it?

    PACE is a rather crappy copy protection software used by the following;
    Antares
    Melodyne
    Cycling 74 Max/MSP/Jitter
    iZotope oZone
    Line6 POD Farm
McDSP plug-ins (some software purchases include a green iLok key)
    MOTU
    Overloud
    Pro Tools
    Serato
Virtually all Digidesign (RTAS and TDM) plug-ins
    Virtually all Waves Products
So if you have any of there, they might be the cause of your problems.

  • Can't click on "Ms. PAC-MAN" in iTunes Store

    Hi all
Don't know what's going on here but when I go to the iTunes Store and select sub-category iPod games, I get the list of all the games currently available for purchase.
However, Ms. PAC-MAN doesn't allow me to click on it. The cursor stays as an arrow, not a hand. The other games (eg Sudoku, PAC-MAC, Zuma) all work fine.
I tried this from another account on my computer and didn't sign in to iTunes Store but the same result.
    Anyone know what's going on?
    Thanks

  • Simple Maze Game (Pac Man Style) Best Practice

    Hi
I wanting to create a really basic pac man style maze game, its actually for some marketing materials and it will be really used as means of navigation rather than as a game, I want pac mac to eat certain words and when that happens it will tell the user about that topic.
I don't need ghosts or anything like that.
Just wondering the best way for pac man to work his way around the maze?
Would I be best using hit detection?
Also what would be the best way to remove the pellets as he eats them? visibility or remove child?
    Thanks in advance..

  • TS1702 Some apps I do not have any sound?  For example Pac man and wheel of fortune:  no sound?

I am having trouble getting the sound to work on some of the apps I have installed.
Pac man and wheel of fortune are two recent ones that I have no sound.  My volume is up all the way, and the sound radio button is on in the options menu.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

    Dear Firefox:
I am not amused with the pac-man music. I spent the entire trying to find a virus on my computer. I might have tolerated this as an April Fool's joke, but this "celebration" was completely unnecessary!
And to others trying to fix the problem ... I just uninstalled Cool Previews and that did the trick. No more bat-shit-crazy pac-man music.

  • Pac man game

I bought it it shows in i-tunes when I update my Ipod it says Pac man not transfered because iam not authorized to play it on this computer. Any help??

    Hello tony1960,
Be sure that your iTunes account is authorized. You may be getting this message because your account may not be authorized when you are trying to transfer purchased iTS content to your iPod.
Go to "Store -> Authorize Computer". Try authorizing your iTunes account. Try transferring the game to your iPod again.
    I hope this helps,

  • Pac-Man   They said all "the stages" but does this mean just new fruits?

I'm tired of pac man game advertisers saying that they offer "all the stages" only to find out it's the same darn maze over and over.
Having played this just a few times my take is that they offer the same maze over and over again. I've successfully played up to 5 mazes. Anyone gone further to see if there are actually more mazes?
    One maze is so boring.

Actually I didn't. As I haven't played Pac-Man on the iPod yet. I apologize for misunderstanding that you meant 'maze pattern'.
Now, not being an uber Pac-Man player (I top out after 3 or 4 levels a sitting), I do not know how often the pattern changes. But according to a FAQ the 'real' game can be completed by only knowing 5 patterns.
