Package with sdo_geometry has become invalid

I'm confused...
I verified this package is the same as it was a month ago.. but now it is invalid and will not recompile.. no database upgrades/patches have happened.
database is 11.2.0.2 patch level 12
error is PLS-00905 Object sdo_geometry is invalid on:
I recreated a test package with only this line and it still fails:

I have followed ID:270588.1 and verified that spatial is valid and all objects are valid..
this code does compile if I add MDSYS. in front of SDO_GEOMETRY.. but it has not been that way in the past..
I verfied that MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY is still granted to public..
I verfied that the public synonym for it still exists and is valid..

figured it out.. someone created something in the current schema and called it SDO_GEOMETRY...
dropped it and the issue went away...

Thank you for your answer. I read the user conditions in my Surfspot Vault and it says nothing about the limited validity of the software, see beneath in Dutch. It only says I can only install it on one pc. Do I have to contact Surfspot or Adobe for some new serial numbers?

PL/SQL packages containing DB Links suddenly becomes invalid

Hi all --
I was wondering in anyone has come accross the issue my data warehouse team has been experiencing with PL/SQL packages utilizing DB Links. We currently use db links to load some of the data from our transactional databases into the data warehouse tables. The packages once compiled remain valid for a short period of time and then suddenly become invalid. When attempting to recompile the package we receive ORA-00904 errors even though running the statement through SQL Plus works fine. We've tried dropping the database link and re-creating it, but the package still will not recompile. The only way to correct the issue is to shutdown and restart the database. The db links in question are from a 10G Release 2 database to a 8.1.7.4 database. Any insight would be helpful.

We often had similar issues over dblinks between two 8.1.7.2 databases. The result was ORA 600 errors which could only be corrected by shutdown/re-start. Our DBAs eventually came up with flushing the shared pool, instead of the shutdown/re-start.

SQL Plus session - "schema.package" has been invalidated on making any chng

I am in the process of testing a stored procedure. Whenever I make changes to the procedure I am executing it from the SQL Plus session. But whenever I make a change to the procedure - i have to close that particular SQL Plus session and open another one. I get the message:
ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception
ORA-04061: existing state of has been invalidated
ORA-04061: existing state of package body
"schema.package" has been invalidated
ORA-04065: not executed, altered or dropped package body
Is there a way that I do not have to open a new SQL Plus session everytime I make change to the package?

It does not help :(. I get this problem in a SQL+ session only when I make a change in a JDev session. I have to log off the SQL+ session and log back in and it is OK again without re-compling anything. I don't have a problem with two SQL+ session. Isn't that strange?

Combination of packages repeteiively becoming invalid

Hello all,
We are using Oracle 9.2.0.7.0 on Toad and SQL Developer on a database with a vast number of packages. At the moment for no clear reason 7 packages repetitively become invalid for no transparent reason. When we recompile using dbms_utility.compile_schema all object will reinstate themselves, and become valid. The next moment you look and want to use the packages they will be invalid again.
We have tried to compare the packages with a comparable database, where the same revisions of the packages exist. On the test database these are correct and valid, on the acceptance database they (the 7 mentioned before) fall over.
Can anybody give us any indications on where to find the problem? We have tried recompiling the forms that are part of the applications, but these are all valid. We are out of ideas now.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

My Desktop folder has become a "package"; each time I click this "folder" it launchs the aplication "Terminal".

Lynn, try to relax. There is nothing about the upgrade itself that would cause those problems.
In here, you'll find tons of problems, it is the ER for 10.7 problems. Most users upgrade with no issues at all and don't ever come here.
Usually, problems are pre-exisisting and are exacerbated by the update process. I know that isn't what you want to hear but it's true. Did you run Disk Utility > Repair Disk before updating?
Have you tried starting up in Safe Mode and test?
Do you have any existing backup? Are they WD drives?
There are new items on the Dock in 10.7 and if you don't want them just drag them off and "poof" them.

I was trying to move iphoto library to my external hardrive, realised it was incompatible with Mac. The iphoto will not open now, message is "Iphoto library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable". I have read other posts.

I was trying to save a copy of my iphoto library by copying images to my external harddrive. I wasn't sure how to do it, realised the hard drive is not compatible. Now the iphoto library wont open and reads "iphoto library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable".
I have tried to use options command and click on iphoto then rebuild yet nothing happens and same error message occurs.
I have gone to my personal drive, desktop, iphoto library, and found file Albumdata.xml and when i click on it, there is a lot of text in it, i am assuming these are all my photos.
I have tried clicking and dragging this file to iphoto app and it doesn't work, as the same error comes up in iphoto being in use or unreadable....
What am I meant to do with albumdata.xml file and how do I reopen Iphoto from here on in?
Please help as I am not technically minded and still trying to understand how to use the Macbook at all as I am used to Microsoft.

Rule Number One - NEVER go directly uinto the iPhoto library - there are no user servicable parts in it and making any change no matter how small can corrupt your library and cause data or photo loss
Exactly how were you trying to save a copy of your iPhoto library?
Albumdata.xml does not contain your photos - and again NEVER make any changes to the content of the iPhoto library - no dragging - no changes - never go into the library
We need to know exactly what you did
And probalby the easiest solution is to load your backup from before you messed things up
For reference after you get things working
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

Try to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)

I think I solved the wifi connection problem, just by switching off completely the router! sounds trivial, but in this case it worked!!!

Are any scanners working with Mavericks? Am I the only person who believes that scanning has become an essential service of any current OS?

It's been a while now since Mavericks was released in the wild. The same afternoon I upgraded I attempted to do something which has become more routine than printing - scanning. But when I went to find my scanning software, there was nothing there. A reinstall of the latest drivers for my all-in-one printer/scanner did not fix the problem - still no scanner. A search of the manufacturer's web site for drivers to work with Mavericks found nothing.
At first I assumed it was just my "not os ordinary" printer/scanner but my wife's very ordinary printer/scanner was the same - neither manufacturer had a driver for Mavericks. Further a little web searching lead me to believe that there are not many, if any scanner manufacturers who do support Mavericks - is that possible?
Can Apple has decided that scanning is not an essential service for an OS? It might have been nice to ask first or at least warn us - some of us depend upon our Apple systems for a livelyhood. Has anyone heard any good news about when scanner drivers will be available for Mavericks?

Connect the scanner to your Mac whether Wi-Fi or USB.
Launch Image Capture.
Click the very small black box bottom left side of the Image Capture window.
You'll see this pop up menu: Connecting this (device) opens:
You can select a default app to scan (Image Capture) and select a folder from the Imort To pop up menu on the right to save scanned files to.

If you copy the recordings from AVCHD cameras, you must copy the entire storage device with its directory structure intact.
I have even tried copying BACK files onto the camera and they do not show up in the transfer window under the last clip.
There is no information for those clips in the AVCHD storage device's directory index files. That means there is no way for the computer to find them.
Your last resort is most likely [ClipWrap|http://www.divergentmedia.com/clipwrap] now, unless you can get the storage device exactly back into the state it is supposed to be according to the index file.

i'm working with owb 11g, i have designed my dimension and also my fact table.
in the implemnation, i have created (designed, depolyed and populated) successfully some dimenstions without any problems.
But when i arrived to create a spatial dimension which contains a column with sdo_geometry type, i have the following error;
Error: ORA-30373: object data types are not supported in this context
So how can y bypasse this problem.
Is there any tutorial to "how create spatial dimension with owb"?
i have googled for a long time but no solution up to now
any help will be welcome
