  • Returnable packaging process-Vendor-Company-Customer

    Dear SAP Gurus,
I have searched through the internet as well as on this forum but I was not able to find the information I am looking for.
I have the following issue concerning the Returnable packaging process in SAP:
I need to gather overall information concerning the returnable packaging. The info concerning returnable packaging in relation 'my company' - 'customer' is quite accessible, however what about the process from vendor's side?
    The process is as follows:
My vendor provides me with some materials that come with returnable packaging (e.g.Pallet01) -> Assuming I am just a middleman, I sell the goods to my customer and also send them on Pallet01 (one day my customer must return the pallet to me and I must return it to the vendor).
    - What are the settings I must set in customizing and in material master?
    - How would the process look like in the system?
    - In what report I can see how many Pallets I owe to the vendor and how many Pallets each customer should return to me (is there one report that would show everything or do I have to use separate reports)?
    - How do I proceed if the vendor decides to invoice me for the pallets or I decide to invoice my customer (I would like to know the best practices)?
If there is an existing topic here (I was no able to find one) or any materials on the net I would be also grateful for the links.
    Thank you in advance!

    Dear kevinthai ,
ex- create a po for 100 material send to vender then vendor send 100 materials to u then u migo finally stock is in ur plant ,
then u sold that material to customer that is SD come to the  picture  if customer send faulty material to you then u receive that material to send faulty store , that material u will check ur system it will track all movement , then u will get to know which vendor u procured the material then go to migo  return to vendor put that po no which po u procured the materials ,enter it will display all material what ever material u procured at that time  then select the material & quantity and save ,it will goes to vendor
before u should have customize MM-SD-FI  integration
    hope it will help you

  • InDesign CS6 crashing in packaging process

    Hi all,
I'm having a problem with InDesign crashing during the 'packaging' process. Here are the details:
    System:
    iMac running 10.6.8 OS
    Version: CS6 8.0.1
    Issue:
When packaging, after ive gone through, agreed to the warning blah blah its starts packaging. Sometimes it gets to packaging the links then crashes half way through, but most of the time it only gets as far as packaging the fonts then crashes. Ive sent crash reports, I've updated, I'v saved as different names in different locations, I've called adobe and sat on hold for 30 mins before i got impatient and hung up. Ive found its also running super slow - it takes a few seconds to highlight text or object and even longer to copy and paste.
Bottom line, I need to be able to send the package to another colleague so its very frustrating. I've also tried exporting an .idml file and package that in CS5.5, but it didnt work either. We pay an absolute fortune for this software in Australia - it should work!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Peter,
We keep all our files on a Mac Leopard Server. There are no 'illegal' characters in paths, but your suggestion to copy to local worked. but this is a bit of a pain to do everytime i need to package (which is pretty much every time!) and ive worked of this server using the same file structure for a couple of years now and never had this problem until installing CS6 last week.
Heres what im working with (maybe you can see an issue that i can't):
InDesign file sits at: Leopard Server/Folder Name/2012/WORKBOOKS/Folder Name/FileName_021112.indd
    Link files sits at: Leopard Server/Folder Name/2012/WORKBOOKS/Source Files/Stock Images/File_00111255.jpg
    Thoughts?
    Thankyou!

  • Problem with long filenames in packaging processes

    Hi,
I have a quick question regarding packaging processes of Thinapps. I'm sure others have the same issues too, but it is not much info on it on the interweb.
certain application have alot of subfolders in program files etc. when the developers made the application they did not go over the 255 NTFS filename limit. but when working with the virtual filesystem we get additional subfolders. This makes it difficult to move project folders etc.
Does any have some fix on this issue other than using subst command everytime for each folder?

    We use Thinapp 5.1.
We already change the location but, but when storing the project folder on a share we cant avoid getting additional sub directories. The developers for all applications take this into account when they get the same problem in their development environments.
If Thinapp had not used ANSI codes that has a limit of 260 path length. then I dont think that it would an issue. Support case?

  • Indesign CC packaging process fails with the error message "Unable to copy necessary file(s)"

When I try to package a file with a lot of links, the Indesign CC packaging process fails with the error message "Unable to copy necessary file(s)". I am able to make a PDF of the same file, but when packaking the process fails every time. The app does not crash, just gives an error message. What gives?
(I'm using a MacBook Pro Retina Display with 16 GB RAM, running OS 10.9 and all CC 9.1 updated with the latest patches).

@John – that's really strange… the thing with the file names depending on the file type. That could eleminate Mavericks a bit from the equation and put the weight more on InDesign CC.
    Provided:
    1. You give it a go with InDesign CS6 v8.0.2 and tests are showing it will work fine in this regard.
    2. The same composite characters are present in both file types, the ai files and the PhotoShop ones. On a Mac OSX characters for files and folders can consist of "composite" components:
ü for example is a two component one: the u and the two dots above the u. On a machine with MS Windows, this is not the case…
InDesign CC was programmed from scratch for a 64 bit architecture. So it could be a severe bug in InDesign CC.
Maybe other readers in this forum could test for these cases…

  • Setting Distributor during Packaging Process

    Hello,
Is it possible to define the distributor during the packaging process? When I package an epub I then need to login to the admin and add it to a specific distributors account before I can generate a fulfillment link to that epub for that distributor.
If I don't add a packaged epub to a distributor, can I still generate fulfillment links to download it? What would I use for my "ordersource" for the default distributor?
    Thanks for the help.

You can't create distribution rights in a packaging request, but you can certainly create a tool that combines making packaging request along calls to ManageDistributionRights in whatever method best suits your business process.  For documentation on the calls see the Technical Reference.  For example calls see the API Inspector of the admin console.  For sample code take a look at java source for UploadTest and DistribTool.

Select item 10 (in the Items to be packed screen area), then choose Edit ® Allowed shipping matl.
In the dialog box, you can select the shipping material in which you can pack the selected item. In this case, the monitor can be packed only in a carton with cushioning material (special carton hi-tech.
Position your cursor on shipping material PK-100, then choose Choose.
The system automatically generates a shipping unit in the upper section of the screen (internal number assignment).
Before you pack the items (monitors), check that the items to be packed and the shipping material in which the items are to be packed have been selected.
Because the total weight of the items (30 kg) would exceed the permissible weight of the carton (20 kg), choose Edit ® New ShUn per PartQty.
The R/3 System generates a second shipping unit. Both monitors have now been packed.
If you had chosen Pack item, only one monitor would have been packed. The system would then have issued a message that only a partial quantity was packed because the weight limit had been exceeded.

Position your cursor on pallet (110 X 110 X 12.5), then choose Choose.
Select both cartons in the All Shipping units that can be packed screen area. Select also the pallet on which these cartons are to be stacked in the Higher-level shipping units screen area.
    Choose Overview ® Pack items.

  • Package processing in CCM (AUTH_UPDATE batch-job)

    Hello all
We're using CCM 2.0 with SP03. We send CatalogueUpdateNotification_in messages (in XML format) to our XI and route it 1:1 to our CCM system. There it is processed by an <b>async started AUTH_UPDATE batch-job</b>. This job finally processes our catalog items.
As log as this batch-job runs the concerned catalog being updated is locked for other updates. And this is what causes us some head aches!
We send XML messages containing up to 2000 catalog items. This makes the batch job run quite long (up to 1.5h). Now, when we have more than 2000 updates to send to our catalog, we split it up into packages with up to 2000 items each.
Each package being sent from XI to CCM creates such a AUTH_UPDATE batch-job. The 1st starting is able to lock the catalog but this way of course also blocks processing of all other packages.
Every single minute the next (waiting / blocked) package tries to lock the catalog itself before it can be processed. This ensures parallel update processings but the other way around it also causes to fall into a timeout after lets say ca. 30 retries.
From XI point of view the timedout out package(s) sent to CCM were successfully processed... means: not restartable!
In CCM I can't find a way trying to re-process such a timedout package.
Re-generating the same package from the source system is not an option for us as well... it takes to much efforts.
Is there a way to change the wait time between retrying to lock the catalog?
    OR
Is there a way to ensure that only 1 AUTH_UPDATE batch-job is started at the same time?
Thanks for some ideas to solve this.

  • Packaging process - Registration of Hierarchy  ?

    Hi Folks ,
In Manufacturing Division , When packaging the products the hierarchical data needs to be send to SAP AII ? What this meant for ?
    1. How AII relates this hierarchy ?
           - It cannot relate with any document right ?
    2. What kind of message will go to SAP AII ?
    Please clarify the above  process.
    Thanks.,
    V.Rangarajan

    Hi ,
Your are concerned with executing packing process using SAP AII without a valid delivery order , right ?
If so, the questions is how to store packaging hierarchy into SAP AII and why ?.
    Q. How  ?
Ans.Since SAP AII stores packaging information against some document like Oubound Delivery doc , Outbound Ext Delivery doc etc.In your case you are recieving the Finished Goods from production line and needs to do the packing . For this you can define your own custom document type , which would contain packaging hierarchy information , thats it.
    Q. Why
Ans .Suppose you have done a packing with the hierarchy items->Cases->Pallet.
When you get an Delivery Order , you can efficiently automate the outbound process by just scanning the Pallet rather than scanning the individual items or cases.

  • Problem in Packaging Process

    Hello Experts,
I am working on a Packaging Scenario.
I am using a packaging material PACK100 to pack material RICE100.
I have done an initial stock entry of 500 nos. of PACK100 in the Partner Storage location.
Now, I want that every time when packing is done during Inbound delivery creation, the packaging material should be picked from the Partner Storage location.
What is happening right now is that, the packing material is getting created in the Partner storage location. Therefore, instead of decrease in qty. of the packing material in the partner storage location, there is an increase in the number.
Can you help me in telling where exactly do we tell the system that Packing material used for packaging has to be picked from a specific Storage location.
    TIA,
    Ankur

    As per my best knowledge:
    - the packed (main) item is in the storage location for which HU requirement is set
    - the packaging material is in the partner storage location (unpacked main items can be in the partner storage location too).
If you remove the packed material from the HU storage location,--> you CAN consume the belonging packaging material from the partner storage location
If you receive the packed item into the HU storage location --> you CAN increase its stock.
Normally, handling units are not built into the main item, so consuming them via packaging, I'm not sure it is the best solution - e.g. you loose information on your packaging material inventory (pallet).
If you want to have a different logic from the standard, you have to investigate the possible solutions.
I'm not sure mixed items (e.g. GI for main item and GR for packing item) will work at the same time in outbound delivery (or the opposite scenario in inbound delivery)...

  • Payment Run  Process in ByD

    Hi Experts
I was wondering if someone can explain to me the Payment Run Process which will be performed monthly in ByDesign.
From what I can gather from the "Help" a
Payment run is created which creates a "Payment Proposal List"
Payment medium run is performed which creates the "output file" which is release to the bank.
    Kind regards
    Antonio

    Hi Antonio,
The Payment run is a run which creates payment proposals for payments, based on the open items under the suplier account monitor, in case of Payable for example.
The payment run creates payment proposals, which contain all due invoices and any cash discounts granted for immediate payment. You can check the payment proposals, and release, postpone, or cancel them as necessary.
You can access the payment proposals through the View Payment Proposal button. A payment proposal list contains all open items (for example, invoices or credit memos) that the system proposes for payment within a single execution of a payment run. You can use the payment proposal lists to check internally initiated payments before they are executed.
Please, check out the help document "Create and Edit Payment Proposals".
Once you are done with the payment proposal, you can click on "Execute Payment" to forward the payment to the Payment Management work center (Payment monitor view) or to the approver of the outgoing payment.
The payment media run does exactly what you've mentioned. As a consequence, the payments which were ready for transfer, E.g. outgoing check, are set to In Transfer.
Please, also refer to the following help documents for further details:
    Payment Media Runs Quick Guide
    Electronic Payment Formats
In case this address your question, please mark it as answered.
    Thank you.
    Best Regards,
    Alexandre.
