How to achieve page navigation through tab. i have successfully done it by using hyperlink.

My browser suddenly always opens on the page it was on when it was shut down last and uses tabs even though I have them turned off. I have tried reinstalling.

I have my browser set to open on comcast.net webpage and to never use tabs. I have been using firefox for years and am very familiar with it. Suddenly it has started opening on the last page it was on when shut down, and has started using tabs. When I delete Firefox from my computer, it still remembers all my settings. I had this problem once before years ago and ended up having to wipe my entire drive to fix it. I would like to avoid a drive wipe this time. I need to know how to get ALL of the browsers information deleted from the registry so I can get a truly fresh install. And yes, I have tried all the normal avenues and am pretty computer savvy. Please help before I go nuts. I am running the most recent version, but going back to older versions didn't help either. Thanks.

Another possibility is that Firefox keeps crashing during shutdown, and so Firefox is recovering from a crash every time. To diagnose this, you can change how Firefox recovers from a crash: instead of restoring the previous session, it will show a list of what you had open so you can be selective or bypass it altogether.
Here's where you change that:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''sess''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes''' preference and change the value from 1 to 0 and OK that.
''Note: Please don't change any other sessionstore preferences without researching them first.''

Firefox has always opened new tabs in a blank page, so I'm guessing that the way you had it before was added by an extension.
If you to to Tools > Add-ons > Extensions, are there any extensions disabled?
In any case, you can still do this with a mouse shortcut. Hold down the Ctrl key as you drag a tab to an empty area on the tab bar.

The only way this might be possible is by using the HostContainer object
to access the HTML page and do it from there.

You have a couple of possiblities:
Keep the tab value in a shift register and use a value changed on the boolean to increment or decrement the tab. Write to a local variable of the tab as needed (I would recommend against value property nodes as in the above examples by others).
You could also hide the tabs and make the tab control an indicator. Now you can write directly to the terminal if the boolean changes and you don't even need a local variable.

Using Tab Pages & Web Template Web Items

Hi Experts,
i want to build a report with a tabs
i have created a WAD report with a tab page web item
in the tab page i have inserted three web template web items
and in each web item i have entered a diffrent technical name of a WAD report (3 reports)
but when i run the report i get in all three tab pages
the data of the first report (like it uses DP_1 of the first one)
i have tried to change in the reports the name of the data providers
to DP_7 or whatever and it is not working still.
any one know how to display three WAD reports in a tab page web item?

Tab distance in Pages when using List and Tab

Has anyone else noticed that sometime in the last update or 2 that the distance the TAB shortcut, or the --> arrow (under Inspector>List) moves the cursor is double the distance it used to be?
The reason I noticed is because I have a few reports on there, and was working on them today, but I can't match the tab distance anymore. Is there a way to adjust how far --> moves the cursor, _WITHOUT setting tab_ stops on the ruler? I want to use --> from the List menu, not the TAB button.
I noticed that if you select Bullet from the list menu the tab distance is the same as it used to be for ALL the List options, but it's only when you select None that it is double. (it used to be the same as the Bullet tab distance).
Does anyone know how to adjust this, or work around it? Using Tab doesn't provide the formatting I need, so _setting tab stops doesn't help_. I don't want to create bullets and then re-color them white either!

Realized my flaw... Those documents originated on the computer (which I forgot) - that is why I couldn't get the tabs to match. My mistake!

Why can't I scroll or use MMB to open pages in new tab, when I have a PDF file opened in FF4?

If I have a PDF file opened in firefox 4, I am for unknow reason unable to open pages in new tabs with MMB or scroll thepage up or down. The scroll function isn't working at all, and it seems like I'd be scrolling the PDF file, not the page of my current tab.

-1712 is a timed out error. One reported cause (with other applications) is that the application is attempting to open a large number of files, or a file that no longer exists.
Try holding down the shift key when launching preview. This prevents the application from attempting to open windows that were not closed before quitting the application.

When using tabbed browsing, if I click to open a new tab, why will it not automatically load my homepage in the new tab instead of a blank window?

I use tabbed browsing with the tab bar visible at all times so I can click on a new tab when convenient.Why can my homepage not load automatically on that newly opened tab insted of a blank screen with a search bar saying "you've opened a new tab".........well yeah. I have looked through the options and cannot find anything to open a new tab with the homepage. Is it possible? Have I missed it? If it's not possible, could you make it so?

How do I add multiple pages in one tab

I am trying to have multiple pages in each tab. Similar to
the Adobe store page. ie one of my tabs is a for features. Within
that, I want to have a learn more button to a more detailed page.
That page should appear under the same Features tab.
I am really new to javascript and spry and am totally lost.
Please help.

Can I create two pages, in a "tabbed" layout?

I am not sure I am using the correct terminology, but basically want I'd like to do is have a form, and instructions on a single document. I would like to make the form on one tab, while the instructions are on another tab (two separate pages, separated by folder tabs at the top, essentially how your internet brower appears when you have more than one URL open. (Am I explaining this correctly for everyone to understand?)
Essentially, I'd like to have one screen appear when you open the PDF with the instructions on it, then at the top, create a "Tab" or "index" to toggle over to the form itself. This way, I could have all my forms appear with their instructions. I'd rather not have the instructions appear above or below the form (in line), or have the instructions print... so this is why I thought the tabs at the top would separate the form from the instructions.
If anyone knows how to do such a technique, can you let me know? I am using LiveCycle 8.0

Hi Jay,
There's no support built in to XFA Forms but you can a acheive something similar. This sample might get you started.
I've used tabs a couple of times, but found they don't work all that well because of the hassle of getting them to print properly.
But does suit some situations, so maybe this gives you a starting point.

In past versions of ff I have used Tab Renamizer add-on to allow me to rename the main tab in each profile. Does anyone know of any firefox add-ons that have a similar features to Tab Renamizer?

I run several firefox profiles at the same time. In the past I have used Tab Renamizer to label the main tab in each profile. I like this because then I can tell them a part from the drop-down list in win 7 when switching between profiles. The new version of firefox is not supported by this add-on. Does anyone know of any firefox add-ons that have a similar feature?

core-el, i don't see the advantage of that or i can't figure out how i'm supposed to use it. for starters, i have to click the mouse in order to get "add bookmark here" to open, which is no different than clicking on the star in the location bar, or right-clicking on the page. there are also options in the bookmarks toolbar, but they all require clicking the mouse & holding down the right button, etc.
my goal is to use keystrokes only. typing on the keyboard, using both hands, using the space bar & my left pinky finger to tab over are all painless routines for me. as soon as i have to take my fingers off the keyboard & use the mouse, the pain begins.
as i said, in older versions of firefox, all i had to do to bookmark a page was click ctrl>d, then tab over & arrow down, when appropriate, to find the folder & add the bookmark. for me, as a touch-typist whose speed is between 60 & 80 wpm, this is lightning fast.
if i have this wrong, please correct me. i just see it as more mouse clicks that don't save me time or pain.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Actually, it's not obvious & common sense would dictate that users' bookmarks would not be left stuck to random computers even once they've logged out of the account. No one wants that if it's a public work computer or if they're traveling & use an Internet cafe. As I am not the only one who has noticed this issue or had bookmarks disappear/be deleted, in addition, common sense would indicate it's not really a very good system. And carrying around a flashdrive to run Firefox off of it is a good solution? Really? Just curious why a useful feature such as being able to login & use your preferences & bookmarks & then logging out removes your preferences when you're gone hasn't been developed. Yahoo keeps my preferences when I logout (it's called My Yahoo!). Maybe a My Firefox or My Chrome solution could be developed.
