Page size require a tripple zoom tap to be correct. resets itself,small, at each site

The top (banner) of each site is correct, below the banner the page displays small font and large margins left and right. Correction by triple zoom only good for one site at at time.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: <b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

  • Implementing multiple page size requirement - extra blank page at the end

    My XMLP report requirement is as follows.
    - The report is printing a bunch of lines.
    - Based on data and layout requirement, lines are grouped into page where they belong (due to complex logic for determining which page a line should go to...this is done in PL/SQL package that is called in the beginning of the RDF trigger)
    - The first page needs to be printed on Legal size paper
    - Subsequent pages (IF NEEDED) need to be printed on Letter size paper
    So some report will have a 1-page output (legal size), and some will have multiple pages (1st page should be legal size, subsequent on letter size).
    Here is a sample XML data:
    <REPORT>
    <LIST_G_PAGE_NUMBER>
    <G_PAGE_NUMBER>
    <PAGE_NUMBER>1</PAGE_NUMBER>
    <LIST_G_LINE>

    For this, I created 2-pages RTF template and using the Word Page Setup feature:
    1. First page setup is legal size (go to Page Setup, Paper tab, choose Letter and choose Apply to "Whole Document").
    The first page has the following XMLP tag:
    <?for-each: G_PAGE_NUMBER?>
    <?if: PAGE_NUMBER=1?><?call:body?><?end if?>
    <?end for-each?>
    <?template:body?>
    for-each loop that prints lines in a tabular format
    <?end template?>
    2. Second page setup is letter size (go to Page Setup, Paper, choose Letter and choose Apply to "This point forward").
    <?for-each: G_PAGE_NUMBER?>
    <?if: PAGE_NUMBER>1?><?call:body?><-- Ctrl-Break to insert a page break here --> <?end if?>
    <?end for-each?>
    It almost worked, except there is a blank page printed at the end. How do I remove the blank page? I have tried to use <?split-by-page-break:?> instead of the Ctrl-Break, but it did not seem to work (there is no page break happening at all).
    I think the extra page is due to the multiple page nature of the RTF template. Is there a way to control the page size through XMLP tag (or XSL-FO). With that, I can try having a single page template and put the page size control within the XMLP / XSL-FO tag and hope that the extra blank page at the end will go away. Can someone please help?
    Thank you!

    Sorry for the typo in my previous post... I meant Ctrl-Enter (not Ctrl-Break).

  • Firefox 8.0 opens with page size I have to zoom x4 - every time.

    Every time I open Firefox or Gmail, the page is way too small. I have to hit Control+ four times for it to go back to the size it was before I upgraded to 8.0. This happens EVERY time on opening.

    You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

  • Programmatically Change Page Size

    I have a main crystal report that has two sub reports in it. Which subreport  is displayed is determined by formula logic in the suppress option of the section expert.
    My issue revolves around the page size requirements for the two sub reports. One sub report MUST be printed on letter size paper (8.5 x 11) and the second sub report MUST be printed on legal size paper (8.5x14). Crystal is applying the page size set in the "main" report to both sub reports. Does anyone know of a way to change a reports page size at run time, without manual intervention?
    I'm working with Crystal XI.
    Thanx in advance.

    Hello,
    I moved your post to the BOE forums. In CR 2008 you can set paper orientation for each section but you cannot change paper size. Your options may be setting up a double print job, Print first page and then second page etc. on a separate schedule.
    Unless you use the SDK the BOE forum may be able to help you configure this suggestion. OnDemand report viewing should give you a manual option to print but again but not sure if it's configuable through the viewers themselves.
    You may want to create a support case in Service Market Place and work directly with a support engineer.

  • Need Help Programmatically setting Page Size for printing to Adobe PDF

    We are upgrading from Adobe 5 to Adobe 9.  In Adobe 5, we set a few parameters in the __pdf.ini file to create a document with a specific Page Size.  For Example:
    [Acrobat PDFWriter]
    PDFFileName=
    bDocInfo=0
    Orient=1
    bExecViewer=0
    cpmarginwhole=18
    cpwidepart=0
    cpwidewhole=612
    cpheightpart=0
    cpheightwhole=792
    Paper=0
    Since upgrading to Adobe 9.2, this no longer appears to work.  I have also tried adding these values to the following Registry Locations with no luck:
    HKCU\Software\Adobe\Acrobat PDFWrite
    and
    HKCU\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Distiller\PrinterJobControl
    Is it still possible to create a custom page size using this method?  Or am I going to have to do that in a different way?

    Bill, thanks for the quick response.  However, we generate many forms on a daily basis with different page size requirements.  The way this was accomplished through Adobe PDFWriter was by setting the various parameters in the __pdf.ini file for the Document that we are generating.  I believe we have about 7 different page sizes that we generate.

  • Does 'Export Relative to Page Size' NOT work in Kindle books & some other ereaders?

    Hi I've been looking at this issue that has made the wheels in my head work overtime! I've made a book with pictures for the Kindle store and all the images look too small.
    I've used Indesign 5.5 on a Win 7 PC.  My file has multiple graphic images and I am exporting it as an epub. When exporting from Indesign you have 2 main options when exporting graphics. You can display them Relative to page size, or have them a Fixed pixel size. In age of multiple size device screens Relative to page size is the logical option because it should be able to make images on a page fill roughly the same percentage of the screen size whatever device you read it on. However I am finding that it doesn't function with all programmes.
    I created an epub. Exported it with the Relative to page size option. This works great when viewed on PC with 3rd party software such as Sigil, or in iBooks for iPhone/iPad or Adobe Digital Editions ereader software.
    However the same epub the images DO NOT display relative to page size when viewed with Calibre ereader software (images display far too small).
    Also, I have converted that same epub (using Calibre) to a mobi. The images in the .mobi DO NOT display relative to page size when viewed with Kindle for PC, Kindle for iPad, Kindle Fire, Kindle Keyboard or Calibre.
    Now. I recognise that my test is in no way universal but something is happening that is making the same file display relative to page size with some software/devices and not relative with other software devices. I've been wondering Is this a bug in the Indesign software or is it not possible on Kindle. Has anybody experienced this. And my main objective is to find out if there is a way, using Indesign or changing the css code, to make images display relative to page size on the Kindle?!
    Any help, thoughts, ideas, knowledge would be appreciated!

    InDesign doesn't have an export to Kindle function. It is not designed to export in the Kindle MOBI format.
    There are many things which are lost when converting from EPUB to MOBI files. I'd recommend doing some reading on Elizabeth Castro's blog where she talks about some of these limitations. Also read her book "EPUB Straight to the Point for her section on converting to Kindle.

    Another good place to ask is in the Mobile Read forums where many long-term eBook experts reside: http://www.mobileread.com/forums/

  • Export "Adobe PDF Page Size" ?

    Hello:
    Is there a way to export custom Adobe PDF Page Sizes from computer to computer?  We have a series of custom page sizes for Architectural sheets and currently we have to enter them manually for each computer in the office.
    Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

    Seeing 750k described as a huge PDF is amusing when I often need to send files for print that are 750 mb or more.
    That aside, exported PDF nearly always is larger than distilled PDF because it can include a lot more information like transparency and color management intents. The warning about fonts just means that the preset is set to not embed fonts during distilling to reduce file size (so the viewer must have the fonts on the system for viewing or printing properly), and ID always embeds fonts during export unless they are restricted, so not embedding your fonts will be ignored. You can unembed them using the optimizer.
    So why is a 750k PDF too large? Perhaps there's a better format all around for what you are doing.

    Hi, we are having problems accessing any internet pages that require log in from Safari on our macbook pro, including Facebook, hotmail, bank site, and even this forum (on the old pc now). All other pages work fine.

  • Safari Not Opening Pages That Require Login

    Since I installed the latest security update Safari won't open a couple of pages I use to use all the time. Most notably the My eBay sign in page and the Bigpond Log In page and just now the Apple Login Page (I had to use Camino to get to here). When I click on these pages Safari just sits there trying to load but does nothing and after about 2min I get the spinning Beachball and have to Force Quit. Also if I press the stop button and try to load any other page other than those 3 it does the same thing. This only happens after I have already clicked on one of the above mentioned sites. I then have to quit Safari and restart it to get it to work. All my other tabbed bookmarks work, It's pretty much just these 3 and probably any other page that requires login.
    I have deleted prefs and reset Safari, Repaired Permissions, Deleted Saft, Googled for this problem and found nothing and tried to find a way to reinstall Safari but found nothing.
    Anyone got any other ideas.
    Thanks

    Security Update 2006-007 (#6): Login to secure sites fails (cont.) -- fixes; Problems launching Microsoft Office apps; more
    Login to secure sites fails (cont.) -- fixes We continue to report on problems logging into secure (https) Web sites in Safari and other WebKit-based applications after applying Security Update 2006-007. Since this update makes modifications to WebKit, it's logically implicated in the difficulties.
    Even more telling than the WebKit changes, however, is the resolution (in this security update) of a vulnerability where "certain revoked certificates may be erroneously honored." It appears Safari is -- instead of erroneously honoring bad certificates -- erroneously rejecting some certificates.
    There's one more change in Security Update 2006-007 that could be implicated in this problem: a fix for a vulnerability where it may be possible to create an X.509 certificate containing a public key that "could consume a significant amount of system resources during signature verification. An attacker may cause a system to process such a certificate, leading to a denial of service."
    In at least some cases, the issue appears to be tied to certificates issued by VeriSign. Safari is incorrectly interpreting some of these certificates as invalid -- with a mismatch in the certificate-listed host name and host name of the visited URL.
    As such, one potential fix involves deleting certificate entries using Keychain Access, as follows:
    1. Launch Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
    2. Click on "Certificates" in the left-hand pane
    3. Delete any entries from VeriSign, or any certificates with a red cross next to them
    4. Re-attempt access to the problematic secure site
    The most successful fix, however, involves deleting the file com.apple.security.revocation.plist from the following directory:
    * ~/Library/Preferences
    You can replicate this workaround to some extent without deleting any files by opening Keychain Access (as mentioned above) then navigating to its Preferences (under the Keychain Access menu), clicking on the "Certificates" tab and making sure that both "Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP)" and "Certificate Revocation List (CRL)" are turned off. However, some users have found that only deleting the aforementioned file works.
    Unfortunately, in some cases, it may be up to certificate providers to update their certification methods for compliance with Apple's new, more stringent security standards."

  • Yellow box flashes and vanishes, and cannot use certain flash pages.  at least 5-6 times a day a small yellow box appears with a warning sign but it vanishes less than a second later so I can't read it.  I also cannot use certain pages that require Flash.

  • How to expand size of a PDF page (I don't mean zoom in)

    Hi,
    I have a PDF page that is miniaturized and I want to expand it back to a full 8.5x11inches so I can print it out and see it at regular size.
    The PDF page, itself, is on an 8.5x11 page at this point, but the content has become shrunk so that it occupies less than half of the current page. Obviously I can zoom in on the content and see it, but if I try to print it out, because the content is shrunken, I can barely see it.
    If I was to open the PDF in Photoshop I could use the crop tool and make the currently shrunken content back to regular letter page size, but i was wondering if this was somehow possible in Acrobat Pro 9?
    So, can the content be expanded?
    (sorry for the poor explanation)
    Thanks for any help.
    Phil

    One way to achieve this in Acrobat 9 is to zoom in until you can see the content at a larger size but still fitting into the window.  Then go to File > Print and choose Current View.  Check the Preview window to make sure that only the content is showing and then print to your pirnter.  This should allow you to print the content in a larger font size to your printer.
    Best of luck.

  • FEATURE REQUEST: Independently zoom page size and font size

    Firefox lets me zoom the page in and out, which is great, but usually useless. The problem I usually have is that font is the right size, but the text doesn't all fit in the window. What Firefox needs is a way to independently zoom text and page size. Then, I could fit all of the text in the window without making the text microscopic. Here's how it would work: CTRL+- ZOOMS JUST THE PAGE SIZE. The text size would remain the same. CTRL-SHIFT+- ZOOMS JUST THE TEXT. The page size would remain the same.
    I know this is possible. The fact that Firefox can zoom the text only without affecting the page size is evidence of that. Firefox is always looking for good ideas that have never been done before. Well, this is one of them. Do it, and we would love you all forever!

    Web pages with a fixed width layout will always be a problem for any zoom feature. Assuming Firefox wants to adjust the layout so it can't exceed the width of the window, should it just do a proportional adjustment of widths or try to keep sidebars the same while reducing a main area, or wrap a sidebar to the bottom of the content (as though it were a floated element), etc., etc. Maybe the experience of programming zoom on mobile browsers will feed back some learning to desktop browsers, but UI designers have a long way to go there as well.
    In the short run, maybe something like the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/readability/ Readability extension] will help tame those unruly layouts?

  • Page size keeps changing between pages based on browser zoom

    I recently started designing a web page for a golf league.  I designed my main page (index.html) and have it laid out all nice and neat with 9 divs (outer, wrapper, logo, social media, topnav, banner, content, rightside, footer).  My main page has horizontal navigation links near the top of the page for 7 different pages (Home, Course, Events, History, Statistics, About, Contact).  I created 6 blank html files for the other 6 pages and then created and applied the template from my main (Home) page to the other 6 pages.
    All the pages are laid out perfectly and everything seems fine.  However, when I view the web pages and use the zoom on my mouse (CTRL + Mousewheel), it only remembers the zoom level for the current page that I'm on.  NOTE: FYI, I'm viewing all of these pages offline, which I assume might be the problem.
    For example, if I'm on my main page and zoom in, then click the "Events" link, it switches to the Events page, but doesn't have the same zoom level.  These zoom levels also seem to be saved (to my browser, not the dreamweaver code), because when I close the browser and reopen it to the web page, it remembers the previous zoom settings.
    I just started building a web page a few days ago and don't have a published web page as I haven't selected a host yet, but plan to when I know how what exactly I need in terms of size.  All the web pages I've been viewing are on my hard drive.  Is that why the zoom is not consistent across all my pages?  To clarify, if I zoom all the way in on my home page, then click "Events", the Events page won't necessarily be zoomed all the way in, it will be at the same zoom level as the last time I viewed it.
    I just want to know if this issue will go away when I actually publish my page to the internet and view it on the web?  If not, I'd like to tackle the problem now before I publish it because this site has to be professional since we're holding a big charity event in the fall with a major and well known charity and celebrity.
    Thanks in advance for any help!

    You're not using frames or framesets are you?
    In which browsers are you testing your site?
    My experience in Firefox, Chrome & IE9 is that Ctrl++ (zoom) remains constant until I change it.

  • Since upgrading to firefox 4, pages open up at a greatly reduced size, and i have zoom in with ctl+ about 10 times, which is then remembered, so the next time it opens at the right size.

    i just upgraded to firefox 4 grudgingly, as i had this same issue when i upgraded to ff3, which i ultimately dumped, and went back to an older version. pages open very very small and i have to zoom in, to fill the page, and make it readable. once i have done that, those proportions are somehow remembered, and from that point on, they will open up at a large size.
    how can i get ALL pages to open up to a standard. predetermined size?
    on a related note, the toolbars are also very small. can i make them larger somehow?

    That is a problem with the Flash plugin.
    You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
    *disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
    *disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
    *disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • How can I change the page size of a pdf so i can view it on my iphone more clearly?

    How can I change the page size of a pdf so i can view it on my iphone more clearly?

    I think there may be more to this question than you say.
    If your PDF page is say, 8 x 12 inches, and you found a way to scale it to 25%, changing it to 2 x 3 inch, shrinking everything on the page to quarter size - wouldn't it look exactly the same on the iPhone? It's just going to be the same as zooming.
    Or were you hoping for something more like in Word, where changing the page size keeps everything the same size and spreads it over more pages? That isn't something you can do.
