Paid Membership to a  Forum within iWeb

Hi,
I have an iWeb website which is forwarding to a Godady domain name.
I'd like to set up a forum that requires a paid subscription on iWeb.
Any ideas?
Bill

I guess it's not possible. Will try elsewhere.

  • Is there a way to create a paid Membership site using Muse?

A client is wanting a website that has an area that is available to paid memberships. I have already read on how to create the secure zones, just wondering if there was a way to create a paid membership portion to the form. I have seen several hints at this being a possibility. Was just wondering if anyone has experience with this particular area? Or even a direction to search.

    Thanks for the info.
    Steps would be :
    - Create a page in BC which you want to be the landing page for secure zone , where users will login and then they will be directed to that page.
    - Go to Site Manager > Secure Zone > Create secure zone , Check sell membership access , Define currency, amount and frequency. Curreny would be the membership country currency, amount that you want users to pay and Frequency would be the time you want the membership to expire.
    - Go to Site Manager > Web forms> create web form > In edit properties , select the secure zone in secure zone list > Add username and password field > Specify payment method
    - Open page where you want to insert the secure zone login form and the web form to allow users to register for the secure zone and make the payment.
Now with Muse , you can insert html part of the content that you created in BC
    - Open the page in Muse where you want to insert the sign in form , copy the html of the form which you created in BC and then insert in Muse Page.
    - Similarly do that for sign in form.
Please note that site published from Muse are web hosting sites which does not includes secure zone, so you would need to upgrade the site plan which is a different site subscription.
Although you can first try with a trial site( get in touch with support where they can change the site plan of your trial site ) as how this works and then after you finalize your site you can upgrade to paid site.
This document includes instructions as how to setup secure zone :

  • Is there a way to create a web form for a user to take himself off paid membership subscription?

I know there is a way to add a user to a paid membership subcription using the web form. There is a video on BCGuru that shows how to do it. Is there also a way to use web form for the user to terminate his paid membership? Or does it always have to be done manually by the Admin?
    Thanks

It’s not a failing at all. It’s just the way it is.

Is it possible to create a menu structure within iWeb with a so called tree layout? iWeb only provides automatically a horizontal layout

    Not in iWeb itself.
You have to create these menus yourself. Start here :

Also, see podcast episode 9 of
         CSS Tricks and Tips
and then add them to a webpage with the HTML Snippet.
Or add the menu to the webpage with a JavaScript.

  • Adjust video compression within iWeb?

Is there any way to adjust the QT video compression when posting movies via iWeb? Currently, my wife opens iWeb, and then selects movies from within the media pane (specifically, the iPhoto library). These have not been compressed in iPhoto, and as she's not very techie, I don't want her to have to go through that hassle.
It seems strange that, from within iWeb, there is no video settings for compression. Right now, a 30 second video can be 50 MB or more. That is ridiculous.
Any thoughts on how to compress without adding a bunch of complicated steps?

Yes, it's very ridiculous that an application for creating webpages has no features for compressing video.
And the movies in iPhoto are usually the raw material that comes out of a camera. They have to be edited too.
Perhaps an application for editing movies does what you want. iMovie comes to mind. What a burden.

*I recently purchased a domain name for a site that I will be working on.*
*There are two things that I would like to do:*
*1. Host the web site on my mac which is running OS X 10.5.6*
*2. Use iWeb '09 to develop the site*

  • Photo Albums not loading within iWeb

    Hi all
I have put together a simple website, with a couple of photo pages and a page containing six photo albums. I've published the website and all is great.
However, now I wanted to change some photos of the photo albums (in the photo albums page), but the photo albums pages within iWeb all show up blank (while the other, simpler photo pages load up fine).
Any ideas, please? The only solution I've come up with so far is to REDO the entire photo albums page, texts and all, but that's a real pain!
    Please help!!

Your SanBlasIslands album is AWOL (regardless browsers), everything is there but streamloader could not get to it:

  • Paid membership for Muse no longer works since recent update

I have a paid membership for Adobe Muse, but after a recent update Adobe only allows me access Muse through a 30-day free trial. I am occasionally requested to enter a serial number for Muse, but cannot find any reference to this in my past emails. How can I overcome this ongoing issue?

    Hi,
Please try the steps below depending on the operating system,
    Windows
Click on the "Start" menu. Select "All Programs" and then "Accessories"
Right-click on "Notepad" and select "Run as Administrator"
Click "Continue" on the "Windows needs your permission" dialog
When Notepad opens, click File and select Open
In the filename field type the following:C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
If any entries in the host file include keywords such as "adobe," delete those entries. These are used for Adobe Licensing.
From the "File" menu select "Save" after making changes
    Restart Muse
    Macintosh
Click on the "Finder" icon. Select the "Applications" folder
Open the "Utilities" folder and select "Terminal"
    Type the following:sudo nano /etc/hosts
Enter the OS user's associated password when prompted
If any entries in the host file include keywords such as "adobe," delete those entries. These are used for Adobe Licensing.
Press control+o to save the file
Press control+x to close the file
    Restart Muse
Please let me know if it works.

  • Do I need to reinstall everything to use a computer for a paid membership after using it for a trial under a different account?

Do I need to reinstall everything to use a computer for a paid membership after using it for a trial under a different account? The programs say "start trial" or "trial ended" or "buy" next to them even after I sign in with my membership and then download them.

    Hi Marcella,
You need not re-install your applications. Just activate your creative cloud license by signing out of the Creative cloud application and then sign back in.
Please refer to the help document below for the steps:

I'm trying to download a paid membership of CC photoshop onto a second computer. No matter what I do, the site sends me to a blank page instead of downloading. How can I get out of this endless flight pattern?

No, this reply is not helpful. It simply generates this little gem:
"This service requires the conversion feature to be enabled.
    Configure conversion ?"
And the same clicking on buttons that makes nothing happen and going around in circles with the escape key.

  • How do I resume my paid membership?

I missed a payment and there's an email notifying me that my membership is downgraded to trial. How do I resume my paid membership with the same credit card no?

As John has correctly mentioned that you can resume it by contacting support  who shall be assisting you.
In case the CC has expired ( deemed non renewable) then it would be advisable to purchase new CC, to activate it you just need to log out & log back in of the CC desktop app with the registered Adobe ID of the active CC.

  • Why is my one year paid membership all of a sudden a free membership only 9 months later?

I purchase the annual Creative Cloud package in April 2014 for $214. The program I use the most is Premiere Pro CC. It had not been working properly for a while so I uninstalled Premiere, intending to just reinstall it using my cloud access. However, somehow my paid one-year paid membership had reverted to a free membership and I could only download a trial version of Premiere Pro CC 2014. What is going on here? I would like to be able to use the services I paid for.

  • Full Annual Membership to 12-Month Pre-Paid Membership

I'm thinking of joining the $30 Creative Cloud Full Annual Membership on the first year (since I have CS3) and switching to the 12-month Pre-Paid Membership (through Amazon) on my second year. I know that that the Full Annual Membership will be $50 per month after the first year, so I figured I can just pre-paid $600 for 12 months and not worry about it every month.
Are there any consequences if I go about this route? What steps do I need to do to make sure the transition will go smoothly? (Do I need to deactivate/uninstall all the Adobe products and contact Adobe to cancel the current annual membership? or Do I just simply input the new pre-paid product key?)

    Hi there!
In your case, I'd highly recommend switching off auto-renewal once you've purchased your annual membership. You can make changes to your Creative Cloud subscription on the My Account page on Adobe.com: https://www.adobe.com/account.html Just click on "My subscriptions and services" in the far right column. Once your full annual membership commitment ends, go in and make sure your annual membership has fully expired and does not automatically renew. Then all you have to do is purchase your 12-month pre-paid from Amazon and make sure you use the same account information you used in your first subscription.
The only fee that you could encounter in this process is if you decide to cancel your annual memberships early: (taken from the Creative Cloud FAQ)
If you decide to cancel a 3- or 12-month prepaid membership purchased at a retailer or online store, you will receive a refund of 50% of the value of the time left on your membership. To cancel your membership, contact Adobe Customer Service.
To cancel a one-year membership, you can either go online to the Account page on www.creativecloud.com or contact Adobe Customer Service. If you cancel your membership before meeting the 12-month commitment date, you will be charged 50% of the remaining amount left on your contract.
So make sure your full annual membership does not renew after your commitment date!
After your annual membership expires or is cancelled, the applications you have installed will be deactivated and you won't be able to use them. You don't need to uninstall and reinstall them - you'll just need to enter your new subscription information in the Application Manager the next time you reopen the applications.
If you have any issues with this process, or want more personalized help, you can always contact Adobe Customer Service: http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/

The page size there appears quite small and, after the initial novelty of turning the pages, it could become tiresome leafing through many images.
Why not use the new .Mac Web Gallery and link to it from your iWeb page?
    http://gallery.mac.com/emily_parker#100388&bgcolor=black&view=mosaic&sel=0
...On that page at lower left the viewer can choose from four different display modes and the Slideshow mode displays in +full screen+. Here are details about .Mac Web Gallery:
