Paragraph space above panel sticks - unable to set value

Hi, I'm using ID CS3, editing a 120 page book comprised of three documents. I have not had a problem up to now, but suddenly, I am unable to adjust the panel / field space-above paragraph. I cannot set it manually, nor with the up/down arrow. With the arrow, the value augments forever, but then doesn't change. When I enter a value manually, it changes momentarily (although the spacing on the paragraph doesn't) then switches back.
The other fields in the paragraph panel work fine.
I have saved-as, closed, rebooted, and more. I have used the keyboard on my Macbook Pro and the attached keyboard. Trackpad and tablet. Nothing works. I am on OS 10.5.6, and current on ID CS3.
I can't figure it out...I have been working successfully in InDesign forever.
Is there something I can do?

Just now i realized.. actually the issue is like when iam clicking button for the first time the value is not reaching the managed bean and iam seeing below line in the log
<UIXEditableValue> <_isBeanValidationAvailable> A Bean Validation provider is not present, therefore bean validation is disabled and the page
Later when i click button for the second time, the value is setting correctly and my requirement is fulfilled.
It happens all the times...only for the second click the value is setting correctly.
What would be the reason. Kindly suggest me.Thanks in advance.

Unable to set panel using set method.

I declared a class called EntryPanel in which I declared and initialized the emty panel which I later want to override with new Panel in Child classes. Now I declared an internal frame where I initialized this Panel and later I extended it by Material internal frame in this class I want to override the panel I created in EntryPanel using set but I am unable to do that I am posting the code below. I hope someone would have faced similar problem

really read your code too thoroughly.
You could try calling
super.getEntryPanel().validate(); after setting the
field panel
or super.getEntryPanel().updateUI();I have tried both but it doesn't work
when I change my postInitGUI function code as given below I am able to see the Label but the new panel I want to set is not getting set. I can add material panel in old panel but I am unable to reset that panel with new Panel.

Eliminating space above character in ai file for exporting to png

Hi,
The image above is for a website which has a colored background. The image will be exported as a PNG file so that the background is transparent. I am unable to eliminate the space above 40th. It seems the bounding box around the character can not go past the artboard area. Is there a way to crop in Illustrator or do something to the character so that it is flush at the top on the artboard area?

As I (mis)understand it, you may consider this:
1) Edit>Preferences>General>tick Use preview Bounds;
2) Select the live Type and Effect>Path>Outline Path;
3) Set the Artboard to fit the artwork and export;
4) Edit>Preferences>General>untick Use preview Bounds.

I tried setting the new replacement parameter process.max-msq-qbytes through projects->Resource Control from the management console.but still uinable to set the parameters.
Can anyone help me in setting the above kernel parameters.
Its not possible to set it thru /etc/system.

I finally had some time to find the actual syntax for tuning process.max-msq-qbytes and process.max-msg-messages. prctl will change those paramaters for an existing process.
As a proof of concept I changed process.max-msg-messages to a 64k. process 2221 is my shell.

...Solaris 10 has different tunables and default values from 8 and 9. It's default tunables should be good for most applications per a given system's hardware. There are some great blog articles, and discussions on opensolaris.org and blogs.sun.com on tuning that explain the intent of tuning and why we shouldn't have to tune.

[CUPS] Unable to set my new CUPS server with an HP printer (solved)

I come from Gentoo and I just installed my new Arch Linux server on a notebook with 2 NIC ... Now, I'm trying to set the CUPS deamon to share printer (HP DESKJET 895Cxi) for 3 workstations in my LAN. Before, it was working (printer and linux ... has never been very good...). But now, I'm not able, and it's about 1 hour I'm looking for a stupid error that I don't know if it's important or not ...

When starting cups service, all is fine : I can use a workstation to browse the Web Interface ... but printer seems to be not detected since it tells "No printers." when clicking on "Printers" tab. So, I go to "Administration" tab and, under "Printers", I click the "Find New Printers" and again, it says : "No printers found.".
Not goot ... so, like I was doing with Gentoo, I click on "Add Printer" ... then, I receive a redirection to HTTPS ... click on the link (or wait) and nothing happend (timed out): web interface is broken for HTTPS ... I really got no idea why HTTPS is not working .
After that, when updating the configuration (with vim) and restarting the service, deamon won't stop and I have to send a "kill -9" to the cupsd pid ...
I look in log and I can just see this :

I googled for one hour, but is not more working right now ...
Some questions :
- the printer is not detected? Is it because of the ACLs errors ?

This printer is working "well" with cups, since it's an old model and it's a HP printer, so is "fully?" working on Linux ...
Any idea on what to do/try now ?
EDIT: after that message, I just refresh the page (I'm using Chromium) and ... magically, HTTPS was working (after accept untrusted certificate for HTTPS?) ... Then, go back to "Find New Printers" and now, it was working. Printer has been added ... Seems to be OK, but the "Print Self Test Page" doesn't work right now because of this :

EDIT3: I tested the ppd from cups (and not hpijs) and got the same problem ... The latest idea was to unplug USB and plug to another USB ... and it seams to works ... Now, the test page print "fine" ...
So, I shared the printer over my LAN, and tried to print from a workstation ... it works fine now ... when looking error_log, I can see than there is no more Ghostscript error .
But I have a last question .. if somebody can answer ... When choosing a PPD file, I have the choice between 3 version :
- hpijs, 3.10.9
- hpijs, 3.10.9.11
- hpcups, 3.10.9
Don't know why onlyl the HPIJS got the ".11" and not any others ... I selected this one and here is what Cups say about the printer :
HP_DeskJet_895C_USB_ES29Z231JKGO_HPLIP HP DeskJet 895C Local Printer HP Deskjet 895c hpijs, 3.10.9.11 Idle - "ready to print"
I hope when upgrading the system, I will not get error from PPD file not found ... With my current PPD file, I get (really not sure) this error, but print is working so, it doesn't matter :

Which is basically Western Digital informing you that their out-of-date utilities don’t support Mavericks.
In any case those utilities are not the most effective. The moral of the story is: the first thing you should do after buying a WD drive is to format it as HFS Extended (Journaled) and not install ANY of their utilities but instead use reliable applications like CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper - or Time Machine.

I am creating the library using object model with custom content type. When i am opening document from custom content type, the meta data fields are not displaying in the document and throwing below error.

Document Information Panel cannot open a new form.
The form contains schema validation errors.
Content for element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/metadata/propertiesRoot}properties' is incomplete according to the DTD/Schema.
Expecting: {http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/metadata/properties}properties.
But after saving the document, then meta data is enabled.

Hi,
For a better troubleshooting, I suggest to do as follows:
1. Please try to update the Location column's schema by following the steps below.
1) Go to Site Settings -> "Site Columns"
2) Click on "Location", after the page is opened. Don't modify any settings, click "OK" to forcibly update the field's schema.
2. Re-edit the document information panel template to see if the issue still occurs.
Please go to the Library setting > click the corresponding content type(need to enable managed of content types in Advanced settings) > click Document Information Panel settings.

The Document Information Panel was unable to load.

Platform: SharePoint 2013, Office 2013.
Background: When you open an Office document from SharePoint users get this error:
The Document Information Panel was unable to load. The document will continue to load. For more information, contact your system administrator."
"The form cannot be opened. To fix this problem, contact the form designer. Form template:
http://<site address>/../proppanel.xsn. The XML Schema for the form template has an invalid value for the following attribute: location."
I tried running this fix: http://www.cb-net.co.uk/microsoft-articles/2063-sharepoint-2010-templates-and-document-information-panel-errors, but it kept saying that it couldn’t see the url that
I specified (I did check this carefully); think it might only apply to SharePoint 2010 – perhaps the shell syntax is different in 2013.
Can anyone help me out?

I just recently created my own custom Document Panel in InfoPath. I uploaded it into a custom content type. I applied this to a document library and it is the standard document panel for creating a new document within that document library. When I click
"New document" I get this error..

Outlook 2013 (Office 365 Install) unable to set Default Mail Client

After installing Office 2013 via Office 365 for Business, the installation is unable to set Outlook as the default mail client. Message appears after each system reboot:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
When going into Control Panel and manually set the Outlook client as the default, the setting does not take. After a reboot, the warning message reappears.
Anyone else having the same issue?

You should also change your temp directory to something woth no spaces, something like C:\temp.
Sapisnt sometimes has problems with the spaces in the temp path, and the Universal Installer nearly always
has a problem with this.

"Unable to set shared config DC." when running setup /RecoverServer

Hi guys,
I'm hoping for a bit of assistance. I have stepped into an environment where there is one production Exchange 2010 server and one Exchange 2013 server. The Exchange 2013 server is in a unrecoverable state however it contains the domain administrators mailbox
and therefore I cannot remove it manually. As it was a vm, I took it offline, created an identical server (name, os version(Windows 2008 R2 with latest updates), ip address etc.), installed all the prerequisite components and then ran setup /m:RecoverServer
/IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms. Everything runs through successfully until it gets to the Mailbox role: Transport service where it fails with "Unable to set shared config DC.". After some searching on Google,
it suggests that ipv6 is disabled on the DC. We have two DC's in our environment and both have ipv6 enabled as does the exchange server. If I try to re-run the installation for the role alone, i.e. Setup /mode:install /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
/role:HubTransport, it fails with "The machine is not configured for installing "BridgeheadRole" Datacenter Role."
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
