Parallel or sequential routing rule and recovery

I'm trying to implement fault handling via fault policies for a composite, to get faults into the error hospital so recovery is possible.
The fault I'm trying to catch is a service call from a mediator component, but for that to work I have to change the routing rule from sequential to parallel.
So far no problem, it's working.
There are a few synchronous services I want to be able to recover as well, but this is not supported:
"parallel routing rules are not supported for Oracle Mediators with synchronous operations".
Is there another way to get instances of synchronous services into the error hospital for recovery?

Hi ,
Check the below blog to set your conditions using condition and expression editor in your receiver determination

Let me know if you need any further clarifications on this.

  • Report router rules and drop off library in Sharepoint

    Hi,
I am running the report from the Report Setting link in Duet Enterprise. I get the message saying, 'The report has been submitted for processing and will be delivered to your Reports page".
But i am not getting any reports in the reports page. After googling, i got to know that i will have to confiure the Report Routing rules for the same. Also a Drop off library needs to be maintained.
Could anyone please explain the detailed steps for doing both these activities? Being a SAP expert, i dont know much about SharePoint sites.
    ~ Ramanath

    Hi,
lets perform some checks to see where we are actually failing.
    The error
User may not be a Duet user.
SAP system not configured or changed on add-on.
SAPID passed was not present in the master system.
means that somewhere on the server where the report is running the information that is retrieved from the SCL server is not correct. In your case these two systems (the server that is running the report and the SCL) are the same, but technically the flow is similar to the case that both would be on seperate system.
So the first thing I would check is if the RFC destination and the logical port that was configured is correct.
(all the following steps are done on the SCL in your case):
At first go to LPCONFIG and search for the Proxy Class: /OSP/CO_REP_ADAPTER_WSVI_DOCUM with Default Port checked.
Make sure that this logical port is active, then go to the Call Parameters tab. Here you should see in the HTTP Destination an entry IWCNT_REPT_ACT_HTTP_DEST.
Double click on that (don't save any changes if you get a prompt) and you will end up in SM59. Here you should see in the target host field the hostname of the SCL server. Under Service No. the HTTPS Port of your SCL system and finally in Path Prefix you should see something like this:
    /sap/bc/srt/pm/iwcnt/repadapterwsvi_document/001/duet_enterprise_assertion/1/binding_t_https_a_http__-iwcnt_-repadapterwsvi_document_duet_enterprise_assertion
Before performing a connection test, go to the "Logon & Security" tab. Here you should see in the "Logon with Ticket" secion "Send Assertion Ticket for Dedicated Target System" checked and also SSL Active in the Status of Secure Protocol. The SSL Certificate is set to "ANONYM SSL Client (Anonymous)".
If that is all the case, then click on "Connection Test". The result should be a HTTP 415.
Let me know if that helps.
    Regards,
    Holger.

  • Limitations on Using Human Task advance routing rules and stages

In one of our requirement we have used human task with different number of stages (14 stages ) and for all this we are using only one human task component and to route the task through different stages I am using advance routing rules (30 rules),we have exposed this through  bpel .My code is working fine .
    My question is:-
1- Do this kind of design contain flaws, is there is any restriction on using of number of stages and number of routing rules. Is there is any best practise which suggests that we cannot have more than certain number of stages or routing rules..??
2-Is it feasible to use different human task component for each of the human task stages and route the data using business rule, but that will be very exhausted and unnecessarily making bpel heavier, also the front end people will be having more number of bpm urls which will make their work tedious.
    Please suggest .
    Thank you

This doesn't sound good. That's an EJB internal to BPEL if I'm not mistaken. Did the install go ok? Has this ever worked before?
I'd check the logs on startup for any sign of an exception. This may be the symptom of a problem which will be logged on startup.
Also, search metalink and open an SR -- this EJB isn't something you need to configure in a normal install -- at least not that I'm familiar with.

  • Echo static routing rule

    Hi all,
Can some one please explain to me when i can use the echo static rule in a mediator component.
oracle student guide present the echo service like this : "the echo service, to use an internat echo mechanism that enables the request message to be echoed as a response message, which can be transformed before returned to the caller"
    any help are welcome.
    thanks

According to the documentation Echo is available for the follwing patterns
The echo option is supported only with the Mediator interfaces having the following types of WSDL files:
    Request/Reply
    Request/Reply/Fault
    Request/Callback
    Note:
The echo option is not available for Mediator interfaces having Request/Reply/Fault/Callback WSDL Files.
The echo option is available for synchronous operations like Request/Reply and Request/Reply/Fault.
    Note:
The echo option is available for the synchronous operations only when the routing rule is sequential because parallel routing rules are not supported for Mediators with synchronous operations.
For synchronous operations, having a conditional filter set, the echo option does not return any response to the caller, when the filter condition is set to false. Instead, a null response is returned to the caller.
The echo option is available for asynchronous operations only if the Mediator interface has a callback operation. In this case, the echo is run on a separate thread.
    Note:
The asynchronous echo option is available only when the routing rule is parallel. To use the echo option, then sequential routing rules are not supported for Mediators with asynchronous operations.

  • 11g mediator enrichment, passing parameters between routing rules

    Hi,
I am trying to make mediator enrichment work with a sync request / response service, One-way enrichment works perfectly in PS1.
So I have a few routing rules and try to use the response data of the previous routing in the next routing and end with a echo request.
For this I am trying to pass on variables between routing rules. but is seems that an assign and xslt variables. only live inside the routing rule.
I am trying the hack the mplan file to make this work but without any luck.
    Is this possibe and how.

  • Business connector routing rule problem

Hi All, I am currently working with BC 4.0 and trying to change the service via developer and I see the changes are not at all reflected when I execute it.
Also, even though I do not have routing rule for executing a service from a RFC call, the old and hidden service is getting executed and do not know where the old service can be stored and how the routing rule is getting triggered even though i do not see in webconsole-->routing rule tab.
I tried to reset the cache in developer and also in the server. But all I see is old service is getting executed with out routing rule and the code for old service.
I would be greatful if someone can help me on this.

    HI,
Once done modification need to active in change list window after that refresh cache it will reflect, generally it will take time to reflect due to server application burden.
Most of the routing rules are mentioned in receiver determination condition window, check it once again.  It will solve

  • Extending routing rules

    Hello All,
Just wondering how to extend routing rules and route the message to a inbuilt legacy system and The out of the box PIP provide integration between two systems say siebel and EBIZ, customer also wanted to route the message to a legacy system, do i need a develop a Custom EBS or add new routing rule to EBS?
    Would appreciate your help..

I have not used the PIPS but within the AIA Foundation Pack (v2.4) there is a concept of creating an EBF (Enterprise Business Flow) in the docs. It is summarized as
"An EBF is needed when an enterprise business Service (EBS) operation needs to be implemented with a set of tasks and involves invoking of multiple services. An EBF can invoke only another EBS. In no situation should an EBF invoke and ABC service directly."
This may be possible, if not then adding a routing rule to the ESB/Mediator Service would seem the logical step.

  • Sequential mediator routing rules execution

Have a mediator with three routing rules executed in a sequential fashion.
The first routing rule simply writes to a file. The second does something and third does something. The third (or second) routing rule fails and supposedly all routing rules will rollback as sequential execution executes in a single thread.
Question: Does the data in the first routing rule get written out to its file?
Or does this rollback in a sequential set of routing rules apply only to a transactional routing rule - i.e. writing to a database?
    Casey

    Hi Casey,
According to the scenario you have mentioned, Let's say, the first routing rule writes a file, second rule inserts into a table, third rule calls a web service.
The first and second rule executes good, then if the third routing rule fails, then the second routing rule transaction will be rollback (if the data source is XA enabled) and the first routing rule which writes a file; that file will still be there, means the transaction will not be roll back.
    Hope this helps,

  • SOA Composer and editing Routing Rules

I have been trying to edit my human workflow routing rules decision table from the SOA Composer web interface. the routing rules appear in the list of ruiles available to open and edit but when I open the routing rules it defaults to the IF/THEN view and the decision table view isn't available from the dropdown. The SOA Composer does however work for more general decision tables that aren't routing rules, is there something special about routing rules that makes them no editable at runtime via the SOA Composer?

    Hi Naresh!
The state of SOA composer in the Weblogic console is 'Installed' but not running! When I try to start the soa composer it shows:
Application composer does not have any targets.
All of the Deployments selected are currently in a state which is incompatible with this operation. No action will be performed.
And because of this the browser display nothing!
    Thanks!

  • Oracle mediator parallel or sequential

    Hi All,
When should use the static routing to be set as parallel or sequential? My understanding is if the routing rules calculation doesn't have to be in sequence use parallel. But with parallel, I am facing the issue of mediator running for ever.
    Thanks

Yes, it can have sequential or parallel,
in case of sequential flow, its kind of straight forward activity transitions
in case of parallel flow, you can assign to the list of approvals at once and wait for one sigle approval or wait for all.

  • BRF+ Routing Rule not showing Expression

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to create a BRF+ routing rule (line item by line item) within SAP Standard Process ID - SAP_GRAC_ACCESS_REQUEST
The purpose is to use it as a detour based upon Role attributes. Although the rule is generated in ABAP screen, when I try to modify BRF+ rule, the Expression where decision table is located, not coming up.
When I test it, it gives error - Expression not set.
What could be the issue? Need your help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sabita

    Hi Sabita,
Definitely look up those courses! I'm an instructor for them in the UK and these sorts of questions are exactly those which most people ask on the courses!
GRFN_MW_S_ROUTING is a structure which contains those two fields. This should be the Result Data Object which will then automatically place those two fields as the results.
The Condition columns are user driven inputs where you give the criteria for the routing rules e.g. Business process or role criticality etc.
For routing rules or initiator rules, there are two sources for the information; the request header (attributes of the request) or the request line items (attributes of the roles on the request). There are some fields which may exist in both (e.g. Business process for the access request or the business process assigned to the Role) which explains why there are duplicates in the list. When selecting the conditions, scroll right to the bottom of the list and you'll find the Structures which show Header or Line Item. If you expand those, then you will see the list of fields again. By doing this, you'll know whether you're looking at the header or line item field.
Select the appropriate fields as the columns and then add in the rows to identify the specific criteria.

  • Issues with a T61 harddisk, UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME, cannot also get in the Rescue and Recovery

    Dear Lenovo Support Community,
I have a T61 with XP pro on it. This is the history of my harddisk problems with it:
(the harddisk is HDD0 Fujitsu MHW21160BJ G1 and everything in laptop (HW and SW) are same as the factory sold one)
    1. Unfortunately I had not made any recovery cd/dvd when the computer was healthy
    2. Some time ago, after a crash, and during the chkdsk in the following boot up, harddisk showed 12kb bad sector
    3. Due to more crashes and not being able to login once, went to rescue & recovery and only recovered OS to an old and healthy state. Kept my data, lost all the new programs installed but got the OS fine and running. --> I guess the bad thing that may have happened is that recovered OS may have used those bad sectors as well, but this is just a guess.
    4. Problems, slow downs, the 12kb bad sector, issues kept coming back every couple or few weeks. Repeated the rescue and recovery OS installations another two times.
    5. Few days ago, all was good, but needed to restart, but this time a blue screen came up with UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME. This screen comes up even if I try to go into safe mode, with networking, or even with only DOS prompt.
    6. Tried to go to rescue and recovery (version 4), it took a really long time and was telling me that something wrong with the file \minit\setupapi.log and after a long long time that it got in the page for rescue and recovery, it was not doing anything by clicking on any of the buttons.
    7. Took the hard out, connected it through an external enclosure to another computer, the main drive could not be read at all, I/O error, not distinguishable.
    8. But the SERVICE drive was understood and I could even run chkdsk /F F:\ on it and it repaired the file mentioned above (\minit\setupapi.log).
    9. Put the hard back into T61, went to rescue & recovery, this time the error on the file was not showing up, but since the step #8, I have not been able to get pass the initial screen of rescue & recovery. It doesn't go in at all.
    10. Found it through Google search, the famous post on this forum about fixing the Master Boot Record. Got the little program, burned on a CD, went through all of its steps, finished as described in the famous thread, but I am not sure if it has been any help to me so far.
    11. In few other occasions, connected the hard through the external enclosure to another computer and found online and used programs like Disk Doctors Windows Recovery Data and EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard and was able to just read inside both NTFS main disk and FAT32 service disk (windows can also read the service disk but cannot read the main disk). Using the free version of EASEUS, I could even read and save my personal data since my last backup, so I am good to even format the T61 hard but still I don't want to give up on that.
    12. While the lenovo harddisk is in it, in a restart went to BIOS (F1) and ran the harddisk diagnosis, It said: "Pass: Controller Diag, Error code 0000: Read verification failed". And after the "Test complete", it gave a red message in the middle of screen that "<<< An error was found. Call for service >>>"
    13. As mentioned in #1, I don't have Lenovo's recovery Windows XP CD(s) for T61, but I have some other windows xp installation CD's, I thought I can put them in CD drive, boot up from CD, and try to recover or repair the windows, It seems that they tell me there is no harddisk in your computer!! When I press "R" to go to recovery console, it tells me: "Setup did not find any hard drives installed in your computer."
My questions for dear members of this forum are:
    1. Can I recover my T61 harddisk with the above description? It is being read nicely with the recovery programs, so it should have not been damaged seriously. Please guide me to other things that I can try?
    2. I can see and read the Service part of the drive from Windows (no recovery program needed) while connecting the drive through external enclosure to another computer. Can I run a program from the Service part of disk and make those T61 Recovery CD and DVD?
    3. If I purchase the Recovery CD(s) from Lenovo, would they be doing any magic or help in my case described above?
    4. Can I make recovery CD(s) from another T61 laptop and use them for mine?
Thanks all for reading my long post and helping me. God Bless.
    Best Regards,
    AL_K

    Step One: Install windows
    Step Two: run system update
Step Three: Your done (optionally have a beer and relax)
Sorry, step three was a bit of humor I added.
Actually these recovery CDs were produced before the first T61 was made, probably in 2006. The T61 line was replaced in 2008.
You can activate with the code on your COA, I've done it many times, just make sure you do a full (new) installation, not an upgrade, from an oem disc.
If you do end up using the original product recovery disc set, your steps are more like this...
    1. Install disc one...   wait 30-60mins
    2. Install disc two...   wait 30-60mins
    3. Install disc three...  wait 30-60mins
    4. Install disc four...   wait 30-60mins
    5. Install disc five...  wait 30-60mins
    6. Install disc six...   wait 30-60mins
    7. Install disc seven...   wait 30-60mins
    8. Install disc eight...  wait 30-60mins
    9. download latest service pack for windows and install (over an hour)
    10. Install (replace old version)  system update and run.
    11. go to windows update and update several years worth of patches and hotfixes. (1-4 hours)
    12. kick back and have a warm beer and cold pizza, if there is any left after I finished hours ago and celibrated already.
Also, after going through all that, you've not only installed windows, then replaced nearly the entire operating system, but you've also used valuable harddisc space to make several redundant copies of the outdated files, drivers and apps.
Please understand, I'm not saying the recovery discs are a bad design, they work great, and back in 2006-7-8-9 I'd happily go through all that work, but today all the stuff on them is to old so it's futile to go through all that. It would be really nice if Lenovo updated the install discs, and we could download the latest version to use, but they basically just leave them untouched after the model line is released, so nothing on that disc is newer then about 2006.
I'll also add that both George and I have done this well over 100 times each, so we wouldn't be suggesting this if it wasn't the best option, but in the end you'll have a working system no matter which route you take to get there, so the only question to ask yourself is...
Do you like your beer cold and your pizza hot
Good luck, and enjoy your endeavours

  • How to restore Thinkpad T43 or R52 using rescue and recovery CD's

The genuine IBM Recovery CD Set will re-install your ThinkPad T43 or R52 (listed types only) with the original pre-load factory software, including Windows XP Professional with a legal, valid license, and all the original IBM Drivers and applications.
    1. Set your Laptop to Boot From the CDROM Drive.
IT MAY ALREADY BE set to boot from CD if a bootable disc is in the drive so try and see if it does first with the disc labed 'rescue and recovery'. If it does then just skip to step 2. If it does not then you will have to enter the computers BIOS setup to tell it to.
NOTE: When in the BIOS SETUP DONT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE if you are not absolutely sure what you are changing.
    ACCESSING THE BIOS:
During startup at the first screen (says "IBM Thinkpad") press F12 then F1 to enter the bios setup program.
Use keys to navigate to 'startup' then to 'boot'. Press enter and following instructions in the right hand panel move the items to make your CD or DVD drive (Atapi CD0) AHEAD of your main hard drive (IDE HDD0). It doesn't matter if 'legacy floppy or USB are ahead of either of them if they are not connected. PRESS F-10 TO SAVE AND EXIT the bios setup program.
2.Restart the computer with the first disc i.e. Rescue and Recovery CD already in the drive. The recovery program will come up. A smaller window will come up.
    3.Follow the on screen prompts.
Choose to restore to Factory Specifications to Install OS, Applications and Drivers
At some point it may ask if there is a supplemental disk. This is the one that says 'Lenovo'.
4.Follow on screen prompts (i.e. insert disk 1)
5.The prompts will continue to ask for the discs in numbered order.
    6. Follow the instructions on the screen to restore laptop to factory settings
    7. Do not boot directly to the hard drive until the entire recovery process is complete i.e until you have used all the recovery cds for the set.
    8. During the recovery process the computer will reboot multiple times. Do not do anything to interrupt the process unless you are asked to insert any specific disk.
    AT THE END:
Promps may ask for the supplemental disc again, follow the on screen prompts.
Computer will restart, you may see the original recovery screen. BE PATIENT, The files still have to expand. You may not see any prompts for a couple of minutes.
    SOMETIMES: (I dont know why)
After loading all the discs and after it takes you to the recovery program if nothing happens AFTER A GOOD PERIOD OF TIME, BE PATIENT, remove all discs and click on restore factory contents AGAIN. It will expand all the files (takes a while) and restore your system.
Afterwards computer will restart multiple times as it continues to load windows, programs and drivers. Follow all the on screen prompts until it is done.
Once everything is done go to microsoft (All Programs > Windows update) and load all new service packs and updates.
Partially taken from the internet and written for a customer. Tried and tested. PLEASE ADD TO KNOWLEDGEBASE.
NOTE: instructions may also be valid for other Model Thinkpads.

IIRC this was the normal recovery/restore procedure for older ThinkPads.  First the recovery image is installed, then the machine reboots to Rescue and Recovery to use that image to restore the rest of the hard drive. User input is required at that point to select restore.
    Newer machines combine both operations.
