Parameter Forms - Web Reports

I've managed to do it with PARAMFORM=HTML .... but when i press "submit query" on the parameter form, a database user authentication form appears.
I have already specified the userid in the URL but as a precaution i enter the details again. Then I click submit and i get the error:
Error: The requested URL was not found, or cannot be served at this time.
Oracle Reports Server CGI - Key "dummy" is unrecognized. Possible causes: bad URL syntax; key in URL was not found in the key map file.
The above was for the cgi version, but for the cartridge version, everytime i push "submit query" on the parameter form, it would loop to the parameter form again.
Can anyone help me with this?
Some info:
Windows NT 4 with SP3
Oracle Apps Server 4.0.7.1
Internet Explorer 5
Developer 6 with Patchset 3
-William Ho

It looks like you're using Reports 6.0
You need to either delete the 'dummy' entry in the cgicmd.dat file (fyi, no longer needed in 6i) or correct it.
Please check out the whitepaper "Reports Server Configuration" available for download on OTN (under Reports 6.0 collateral) for information on this.

  • Value to be assigned to a parameter field (web report parameter form)

    In a Oracle 10g report In parameter form we have DESTYPE and DESNAME. In database we have PRINTERNAME. we are using run_product to open the report. Now we are in the url
    http://192.168.178.29:7779/reports/rwservlet/getjobid2214?server=rep_inexpas02_OracleFRSR2
    Parameter form:
    When we change the value of DESTYPE to Printer I want assign printername in DESNAME field. Other wise DESNAME should be blank. Is there any trigger like when change field of DESTYPE in parameter form (web) assign some value to DESNAME. (AFTER PARAMETER FORM AND BEFORE REPORT ARE NOT SOLVING THE PURPOSE)

    Is it correct taht you use forms to invoke the report? If so, a possible solution is to "create" your own parameter-form in forms itself, where you can do such validations and logic as you need. Then run the report without parameter-form.

    Please give me solution what mistake i have made
    Thanks
    Rana

    You have to modify your code - machine_name is the name of your computer - this will run on your PC:
    Declare
    report_id Report_Object;
    ReportServerJob VARCHAR2(100);
    rep_status VARCHAR2(200);
    L_REPORT_SERVER_PATH VARCHAR2(30):='http://machine_name:8889/reports';
    L_REPORT_SERVER VARCHAR2(15):='rep_uoas';
    BEGIN
    report_id:= find_report_object('REPORT10');
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(report_id,REPORT_COMM_MODE,SYNCHRONOUS);
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(report_id,REPORT_DESTYPE,CACHE);
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(report_id,REPORT_SERVER,L_REPORT_SERVER);
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(report_id,REPORT_OTHER,'P_DEPTNO='||:Dept.Deptno||' paramform=no');
    ReportServerJob:=run_report_object(report_id);
    rep_status:=REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS(ReportServerJob);
    WHILE rep_status in ('RUNNING','OPENING_REPORT','ENQUEUED')
    LOOP
    rep_status := report_object_status(ReportServerJob);
    END LOOP;
    IF rep_status='FINISHED' THEN
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT(L_REPORT_SERVER_PATH||'/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(ReportServerJob,instr(ReportServerJob,'_',-1)+1)||'?'||'server='||L_REPORT_SERVER,'_blank');
    ELSE
    message('Error');
    END IF;
    END;
    Before first running the report you have to start report server on your PC.

  • Back to parameter form when report is executed

    Hi
    Is it possible to be back to the parameter form when the report is executed?
    E.g. 1 - Enter information in the parameter form,
    2 - Execute the report
    3 - Back to parameter form
    4 - ....
    5 - When all the reports processed, exit the report.
    Thank you all

    Don't know if you can do this in reports, but we have a similar requirement on our system, and we developed a form based parameter form, rather than using the reports own. We could then run as many reports as we need from the one parameter form.

  • Using ref cursor in after parameter form in reports

    hi everyone,
    I have problem in usage of ref cursor in after parameter form. My actual requirement is I have user parameter :p_minval, :p_maxval. The values into these user parameters will be coming dynamically using sql_statement as shown below
    select min(empid),max(empid) into :p_minval, :p_maxval from emp where empid in (:p_emp);
    I will be writing this query in the after parameter form
    :p_emp is a lexical parameter as per me but the after parameter form is taking it as a bind variable. so I decided to define a ref cursor and then use it for retrieve. But when I use ref cursor it is returning pl/sql error 591 saying that this is not supported by client side can anyone help me plz..
    The following is the code i tried to use in after parameter form
    function afterPform return boolean is
    type rc is ref cursor;
    l_rc rc;
    sqlstmt varchar2(512);
    begin
    sqlstmt:='select min(empid),max(empid) from emp where empid in ('||:p_emp||')';
    open l_rc for
    select max(empid) from emp where empid in ('||:p_emp||')';
    fetch l_rc into :p_maxval;
    close l_rc;
    return(true);
    end;
    thanks & regards

  • How to pass parameter form one report to another and run it. No web page

    Using Crystal Reports XI, Win XP pro SP2.  I have main report I want to set a field as a hyperlink when user clicks on it I want to pass the value of that filed as an input to another report and run it . Note that this is not a Web page (no HTTP://). It is not what is described on article 1212 849.

    You can remove the field value and right click on the on demand subreport and go to format subreport and in sureport tab-->use on demand subreport caption X+2 and place the field value in it.

  • Display Report Parameter Form on Web Browser

    I have prepared a report (with a user parameter form )using Report Developer. Then I call the report in a web-based application through the web-browser. the parameter form display normally, except that there are two buttons on the top : submit and return. Also, the layout of the parameter form is not consistent with the style of my application.
    1. Can I customized the layout of the parameter form so that it can have consistent style with my web-based program ? If yes, how?
    2. Can I suppress the buttons shown on the parameter form ?
    (Our Report Server is 9iAS )

    Hi
    Reports built-in parameter form is deliberately fairly simple in capabilities (otherwise, you'd have all the functionality of Forms inside of Reports). However, with JSPs in Reports 9i, you can go farther to create a custom parameter form of your own liking.
    Thanks

  • Parameter Form in Oracle Report!!

    Dear Oracle Users' Group:
    I have problem with "Parameter Form" in Oracle Report.
    The Report that I created has the SQL:
    "SELECT A.FIELD1, A.FIELD2
    FROM MYDATABASE.MYTABLE A
    WHERE
    A.FIELD1 = :P_1";
    When the report is run, it asks for the parameter
    and generates the report based on the runtime
    parameter. Works perfect on Oracle8i database's
    Report front end.
    The PROPERTY PALETTE for the FIELD (Field that
    takes the runtime parameter) is:
    ====================
    General Information
    Name: PF_P_1
    Comments:
    Parameter Form Field
    Source: P_1
    Parameter
    Datatype: Character
    Width: 40
    Initial Value:
    Validation Trigger:
    List of Values:
    (For the list of values, I have put the SQL:
    "SELECT DISTINCT A.FIELD1 from
    MYDATABASE.MYTABLE A", Also I had
    tried with list of fixed values like A, B, C)
    Web Setting
    Additional Attributes (HTML):
    ================
    But the report does NOT work when called from the Web.
    (This is only because of the problem with this Parameter
    Form in my report. If I get rid of the parameter form by
    changing the last line of my SQL to: "A.FIELD1 = 'Chicago'",
    it works fine from the Web).
    When accessed the report from the Web, the error I get
    is:
    Oracle Reports Server CGI - Report Job has terminated with this error.
    Reports Server Replies:
    REP-0788: Warning: The value of restricted LOV parameter P_1 is not among the selectable values.
    I do not know what is the error with this simplest Parameter Form based Report!!
    In the Property Palette (above) of the Field, there was a field named "Additional Attributes (HTML)"
    under "Web Setting" heading.
    Do I need to write something there!!
    Please help!!
    thanks.
    kimmy

    Hi, Kimmy
    Try: &paramform=yes]http://webserver.com:80/dev60cgi/rwcgi60.exe?server=repserver&report=rep1&userid=scott/tiger@orcl&destype=cache&desformat=htmlcss&paramform=yes
    I've also sent you an email about key maps.
    Enjoy! Web Reporting is a great feature.

  • Web report & html form

    Is it possible to create Web report that will be take input parameters from html form? What program is necessary for me?

    Hello Sergey Al,
    You can create a custom parameter form in Reports Builder for your report, and when you run this report on the web using rwservlet with PARAMFORM=YES, this paramform will be displayed in HTML format before the report is run.
    Further, you can also create a JSP report with a parameter form, to be deployed on the web in a JSP engine. Take a look at the OTN 'Getting Started With Oracle9i Reports' link below for details:
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/examples/ParameterFormJSP/index.html
    Thanks,
    The Oracle Reports Team.

  • Reports 10 Parameter form

    Hi.
    I am facing a problem with the parameter form in reports 10g. The number of parameters in this report are huge. After designing the parameter form , i save and close the report. Now if i re-open the report to do changes, the width and height of the parameter form is reduced (which i increased changed previously) and if i click on any field , that specific field is repositioning itself inside the (reduced)border lines.
    I request the forum to give a remedy on this issue.
    thanks in advance

    Hi .

  • Disabling the 'Schedule' tab on the Reports Portlet Parameter Form

    Hi,
    I have deployed several Oracle Reports through Portal using the built in Reports Portlet Parameter Form and I was wondering if anyone knows how to disable the 'Schedule' tab located on this form. I would like users to run the reports but not to schedule them.
    Thanks
