hi all,
iam very new to Bps and now i need to do some modifications,my scenario is in web i have a screen where user is able to input,now it is like parameter in abap,i mean only 1 field .now i require to make it as a range,means select-options in abap,how can i do it web design,please help me by refering any example,as this is my first object in bps.points rewarded imm to all useful replies......

Create a variable in BPS0 on the area that is used in the web interface and give range in the variable.
Use that variable in the folder and regenerate the web interface.

Questions on BPS BAPI calls and PDF forms
I will need to create a button on a BPS form and that button is supposed to call a BAPI. One of the buttons will create a PDF of the form (using the contents of the form) and print said form to a 'default' printer. The issue is that not all cFolder users will have an ECC logon name. What am I to do in this instance? Will I need to pass some type of credentials to the ECC backend in order to run this BAPI?
Also, how can I get the contents of the form(s) to the BAPI? I assume that I will need to create the PDF in the code of the BAPI. Please be patient with me as this is my first time to work with cFolders and/or BPS.

Well, if you are able to log on the BPS application (thus, a Web Interface if I'm not mistaken) then it means that some user is logged on the ABAP-side. It is either a "personal" user or a technical (common) user, that is used for anonymous access.
You will certainly be able to track down this user with the SM04 transaction.
You should be able to add a button to the BPS page. One idea would be to call an URL with an ICF service behind that will be able to process the parameters contained in this URL.
It will be this very ICF service that will call the BAPI.

How to get XLR to show BPs with no transaction data for a given date range
Hi -
I am building an XLR report that does a comparison of net sales data across two periods for a given sales employee's BPs.
The report has the row expansion:
FACT BPA(*) SLP(SlpName = "ASalesPersonNameHere") ARDT(Code = "ARCreditMemo", "Invoice") Group by BPA.CardName
and column expansions:
FIG(SO_TaxDate = @StartDate:@EndDate)
and
FIG(SO_TaxDate = @StartDate2:@EndDate2)
where @StartDate, @EndDate, @StartDate2, @EndDate2 are parameters that define the two ranges of dates.
The column formulas are, from left to right:
=ixDimGet("BPA", "CardName")
=ixGet("SO_DocTotal") <-- filtered by column expansion for first date range
=ixGet("SO_DocTotal") <-- filtered by column expansion for second date range
The report works fine except for one problem, I would like it to include BPs for which no transaction occurred in either date range as well.

Lang RileyReally appreciate your feedback! Those are good suggestions. I should have mentioned that I had already tried both those suggestions.
Removing FACT on BPA in this case ends up returning all the BPs and not respecting the SLP(SlpName = "aName") part of the query.
Using **, i.e., * or #NULL, makes no change in the resulting data in this case. I had thought that ** would be the solution, but it didn't change the outcome. I still have BPs for which when their sales employee is used as the filter and they have no transactions for either date range, and yet they still do not appear.
I should further mention that the IXL query, as it now stands, does return BPs for which one of the periods has no data, just not both, and I have verified that applicable BPs with no transaction data for both periods do exist in my data set. It seems that perhaps the IXL query needs to be restructured? Please keep the suggestions coming including how this query might be restructured if necessary. -
Navigate from WebDynpro Application to BPS Layout and vice versa

When I check the RFC coonections, they are very well connected. and the function module UPB_CI_PUSHBACK_PR has been modified to handle the records with all key figure values zero ( as per oss :768822 )..however this retraction is working fine in QA and it used to work in Prod earlier...but since 2 months, we have receiving this error especially when there is no records generated or modified.
We are on BW 3.5, Level 17 & sem-bw 400 & level 13.
PI_BASIS is 2005_1_640 level 8.
R/3 system :4.7
PI - 2004_1_470 Level 9.
PI_BASIS - 2004_1_620 level 9.
I have gone through the FM degigging, but left with no clue. If anybody throw some light on how to handle this sort of issue, would me more helpful.

RameshSorry, I missed to add a my observation that when execute the Planning function with some values in selection of either CRM element or WBS element, it is running fine. However when both are left balnk in the selections it is giving me this error. To handle this case, do we need any thing to transfer characteristics with unassigned values '#' ?

Retraction from BPS to FM-BCS using T-code: FMCYCOPI_BW

I´m trying to retract data from BPS to FM-BCS.I have created a query in BW and defined field assignment in R/3.But when I run T-code:FMCYCOPI_BW, I get an error message about 'Fiscal year 0000 not allowed for year-dependent commitment items'.I don´t know how to solve it.

I am facing problem in BPS Variables.
I created the variables 1.zqbs- employee responsible --->Userentry/default value.
2. zconpar-- contact partner----
> Replacement type is user exit(Function Module)
3. zconpar-- contact partner----

ZCONPAR: I am using the zqbs, planing area, characterstic name as a import parameters and i am exporting the output value to 0BP_ACTIVIT through zconpar
ZCONPER: I am using the zqbs, planing area, characterstic name as a import parameters and i am exporting the output value to 0BP_CONTPER through the zconper.
These two variable info objects are calling in the planning layout lead column.
based on contact partner it should display contact persons for the contact persons we are applying the conditions(bp_reltype = bur001,bp_reldir = 2) to filter the contact persons.
In my case i am getting 3 values for the contact partner like 1000, 2000, 3000.
i am getting 2 values for the contact persons if i run the variables individual.
note: if i run BPS0 its going into loop and displaying multiple data means for 1 contact partner its applying all contact persons. at final it showing records like contact persons X contact partners means it showing more unvalid records.
how to avoid this situation.

your friend Bharath.Thanks for the reply and I would trying these consistency check out again as a background job but I have already done these checks and have not been able to find any inconsistencies in the planning area or the master planning object structure. the problem is this as I have put in the SAP message:
"We have generated CVCs from a text file using the load work list functionality Due to some internal formatting issues few erroneous CVC were generated. On going through the concerned notes we have come to the conclusion that we would have to delete the erroneous CVC and recreate new CVC.
The issue that we are facing is that we are not being able to delete the erroneous CVC from the MPOS as they are not visible in the display mode. On other hand we do see the erroneous CVC in the planning book, which is not at all understandable because if there are no CVC then why are we seeing them in the planning book."
Please let me know if this is a problem that has been faced by anybody in SCM 5.0

In which tables BEx Filters parameters stored in?

You can get BEx filter param for characteristics from table rszrange. You will get element ID's of restrictions from this table for each characteristic restriction. You will then have to take these ELTUIDs and put them in table rszeltxref to get COMPUIDs for queries for the aforementioned restrictions. Then, you can get query tech names from RSRREPDIR for these COMPUIDs.

When you meant "to add new (or change existing) data in a planning layout, you have to make use of the function module
<b>API_SEMBPS_SETDATA.</b>
The parameters what you have to pass are:
1) Planning area
2) Planning level (where your layout is defined)
3) Planning package
4) Planning Laoyut
5) Characteristic values of each row
Check the documentation of the Funtion Module (CTRL+F4).
<b><i>1) Be sure to convert the key figure values in string format, otherwise you would get a runtime error.
2) Make sure that no two rows have same keys (characteristic value tuples)
3) Make sure that all the characteristic values are contained in the planning level (Check the filters)</i></b>
A simple working example (ABAP Code) you have it from me when things dosen't go forwards.

Can we upload more than 1000 records with BPS file upload pf
We are using file upload functionality in BPS. Can we use this function to upload around 80,000 records at a time.
We are unable to upload more than 1000 records because throws a time out error. Is there a setting that we can change to resolve this?Hi,

Passing parameters from an URL to a WAD Web Template 7.0
Hi guys, I need to pass parameters from an URL to a web template created with WAD 7.0. We need to open a template with certain filters starting from a link button located on an Xcelsius Dashboard. Our customer wants a web template to be opened with the filters defined within the Xcelsius
The idea is to run the template with the filters defined in the URL. I know this was incredibly easy with WAD 3.x, but I didn't find any suitable solutions to use with WAD 7.0.
What is the easiest way to do this with WAD 7.0?

I used it in a case where I wanted to embed a Web template in a BPS application and pass characteristic filters from the BPS application to the web template - similar to your requirements. Basically you need the following just to restrict one characteristic :o(

I could only get it to work with one characteristic and I suspect, that the reason is that the URL simply gets to long (very quickly). You have to repeat the above for every characterstic you want to use :o(

Hi All,
I am new to BPS and and am trying to set up the functionality for Retraction of data from SEM to R/3.
But when I go to the transaction (as mentioned in SAP Help)
Business Analytics -> Financial Analytics -> Cost Center Planning -> Cost Center Planning Administration,
I am not able to find the same.
I am working on SEM-BW 4.0 and BI_CONT 3.5, is the same transaction replaced with the one mentioned below here
Business Analytics -> Financial Analytics -> Cost Center Planning -> Customizing -> Settings in the Planning Environment
Moreover if I try to go to Settings in the Planning Environment, it gives me the error message as below:
Planning profile 4EXPPL01 does not exist
Message no. UPC_FW050

I could activate the Content using the option that you had suggested, but am still stuck up with the Retractor setup.
I have done the steps as mentioned in SAP Help, but have not been able to retract data into R/3.
Below are the steps that I did and the problem :
1. Select one of the existing planning levels the selection of which contains data that you want to transfer back into the operational system, or create a suitable planning level.
2. Create a planning function of the type exit in the context of the planning level you selected.
3. Enter the names of the function modules in the fields intended for this:
Function module = UPR_COST_PLAN_EXEC
FM initialization = UPR_COST_PLAN_INIT
4. Make the assignments of parameters to data elements under Parameter Exit Functions:
5. In the list of fields to be changed, selected the following characteristics:
Cost center (0COSTCENTER)
Cost element (0COSTELMNT)
6. Create a parameter group for the planning function.
7. In the parameter group, entered the parameters created in the context of the function.
8. To start the retraction, select a package of the planning level and then execute the function with the parameter group.
Once I execute the package I get the following message
27 data records were read, 0 of them were changed, 0 generated
Message no. UPC224
Having done the above, I am not clear
what are the steps to be executed subsequent to this, and if I need to create the sender structure where and how I could create the same.
Moreover once the data is retracted into R/3 is it visible in transaction directly in KP06/KP07 or do I need to view the same in some other transaction/table or is there some processing step involved there also.

Hi to everybody.
I'm searching for a particular functionality of SEM-BPS but I don't know if it exists or if I have to develop it custom(for ex:with ABAP).
Here, the issue: I have a product-hierarchy, the last two bottom-level of which are PRODUCT and (under) SKU (PRODUCT is parent of SKU).
I want to spread (I mean "distribute") values of particular PRODUCTS down to the respective SKUs following the hierarchy definition. An example: the value of PRODUCT P10 down to SKU 19, SKU 20 and SKU 21, the value of PRODUCT P11 down to SKU 22, SKU 23, SKU 24 and so on.
I have tried to use ALLOCATION function and it works perfectly but there are too much parameters to define (sender, receiver, distributor and so on) and it isn't related to the pre-defined hierarchy (I mean, there is no possibility to define a hierarchical reference).
This problem is born because of the large amount of PRODUCTS and SKUs (it's an hard work defining every single parameter...).
So I'm searching to a function that permits to refer to the product-hierarchy and execute the spread.
Any advice?

I am afraid I may not be able to help you with your query! But if you dont mind can I ask for your help. I am new to SEM-BPS. I have done certification in SEM but you know how its like. The pace of the academy is so fast and furious that it is impossible to retain most of the stuff after the academy. Now I am working on an SEM-BPS project. The company wants me to show to them what BPS can offer them. They are currently using their own bespoked planning software but are not very happy. I need to show to them the functionalities of SEM-BPS. Are their standard examples on heirarchies in BPS? Or is their something u can send me to get started with using heirarchies in BPS so that I can map their organistion structure to BPS planning layout and then can proceed from there? And last but not the least can you advise me on the structure of info cube? What things do i need to take in to consideration before I can design my info cube? Thanks a lot.
