Parent Space Name is cached?
Hi all,
I wrote a custom navigation and I need to know from where the user is coming. So, I used the m_asOwner.GetParentSpaceName() but it always returns the same value (Login) even if I navigate the portal and I change a lots of Activity Space. I notice that the "parentspace=xxx" in the Request Url changes.
Do you know if the ParentSpaceName is cached and how can I solve my problem?
Thank you,
Alberto
That should work. I can take a look at your code if you email it to [email protected]

How can we retrieve the name of the Parent Space from the subspace?
We wish to use a hyperlink in a subspace template which allows a user to link back from the subspace to its parent space.
This hyperlink should show the name of the parent space.
These Expression Language Expressions return parent information, but they so not show the Name of the parent space or other details like the Parent Space URL.
#{spaceContext.currentSpace.parent}
#{spaceContext.space['bpo'].parent}
How can we retrieve the name of the Parent Space?I agree!
I can't top this approach.

Find available space in buffer cache
Hi.
I want to find available space from buffer cache. First thought was to make it 8i-9i comp, by not using v$bh to calculate sum of memory and available space.
I have the following pl/sql block to calculate the values:
declare
num_free_blck integer;
num_all_blck integer;
num_used_blck integer;
overal_cache number := 0;
used_cache number := 0;
free_cache number := 0;
blck_size integer;
pct_free number := 0;
begin
select count(1) into num_free_blck from v$bh where status='free';
select count(1) into num_all_blck from v$bh;
select count(1) into num_used_blck from v$bh where status <> 'free';
select value into blck_size from v$parameter where name ='db_block_size';
used_cache := (blck_size * num_used_blck)/(1024*1024);
free_cache := (blck_size * num_free_blck)/(1024*1024);
overal_cache := (blck_size * num_all_blck)/(1024*1024);
pct_free := ((free_cache/overal_cache)*100);
dbms_output.put_line('There are '||num_free_blck||' free blocks in buffer cache');
dbms_output.put_line('There are '||num_used_blck||' used block in buffer cache');
dbms_output.put_line('There are totally '||num_all_blck||' blocks in buffer cache');
dbms_output.put_line('Overall cache size is '||to_char(overal_cache,'999.9')|| 'mb');
dbms_output.put_line('Used cache is '||to_char(used_cache,'999.9')||' mb');
dbms_output.put_line('Free cache is '||to_char(free_cache,'999.9')||' mb');
dbms_output.put_line('Percent free db_cache is '||to_char(pct_free,'99.9')||' %');
end;
The result of the execution is:
SQL> @c:\temp\bh
There are 3819 free blocks in buffer cache
There are 4189 used block in buffer cache
There are totally 8008 blocks in buffer cache
Overall cache size is 62.6mb
Used cache is 32.7 mb
Free cache is 29.8 mb
Percent free db_cache is 47.7 %
PL/SQL-prosedyren ble fullført.
SQL>
This is not correct according to the actuall size of the buffer cache:
SQL> select name,value from v$parameter where name='db_cache_size';

Anyone that have an idea bout this?

Provided the OP figures out that xx_bh is probably a view defined by sys on top of x$bh this will get him the number of free buffers - which may be what he wants - but apart from that your query is at least 10 years short of complete, and the decode() of state 3 is definitley wrong.
The decode of x$bh.state for 10g is:
decode(state,

Expression Language to get the navigation model of the parent space
Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me with this.
Scenario: I need my sub-space to use the same navigation model as the parent.
Reason: Take a space(P) has a navigation model that queries the pages and sub_spaces(S1,S2...) in a space. Using this navigation, if we navigate to a page of a sub_space(S1) of the space, the navigation model for that sub_space(S1) will now query its pages and its sub_spaces. Instead, I want the navigation to still query the pages of the parent space(P) and the sub_spaces(S1,S2) of the parent. Effectively, the navigation contents should not change.
So, I am thinking of using an EL expression that queries the navigation model of a parent(P) to set the navigation model of the sub_space(S1).
Appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Pradyumna NandavanamHi.
You can define customAttributes for your group spaces like: parentModelPath
Access it with EL Expression: #{spaceContext.currentSpace.metadata.customAttributes[attributeName]} where attribute name is +'parentModelPath'+
And with next EL Expression: #{navigationContext.navigationModel['model_path']} you can replace 'model_path' with your customAttribute value.
Kind Regards.

How to find the Color Space name for a PDEElement
Hi
I am trying to find out the color space for each PDEElement in my PDF file. While doing this,
I put some debug statements ( cout stmts ) that print the color_space as integer values. I gave this list
after the code. I belive the color spaces should be something like CMYK, DeviceRGB,DeviceGray..etc.
How can I know the actual color space name coresponding to these numbers printed in Debug statements.
Kindly please help me..

which is a type declared in the SDK to represent reused strings. You have to
read the relevant documentation to learn how to use the SDK - there is no

complicated than most people expect when they start to work with it. Take
your time to learn how to use it.
In this particular case, you need to call this function to convert the

Solaris Name Service Cache and Directory Proxy Problem
We have some Solaris 10 clients ldapcliented to a Directory Proxy Server. After 15 minutes, the Solaris name service cache will fail to communicate to the proxy instance and the proxy instance's readconnectionsrefused attribute will start incrementing.
At first it seemed we would need to increase the worker-threads and num-bind-limit, but those do not fix the problem.
At the same time the name-service-cache starts failing, I am still able to query and search the proxy. I have set up a Jmeter test which continues to run and they never fail.
It seems very consistent that the problem with the name-service-cache occurs every 15 minutes and I am able to reproduce this at the client's site and in my lab. Restarting either the proxy or the name-service-cache clears the problem.
Has anyone else seen this problem?

How to get Parent Symbol name of current e.target element ?
How can I get the Parent Symbol name of the current e.target element ?
would that involve using this ?
getParentSymbol()
Thanks for the helpHi ,
I created a composition where I am trying to access the parent symbol of a rectangle. The structure is like this -
Stage->parentMainSymbol->ChildSymbol->childRectangle. Now for the parentMainSymbol click , to access the rectangle element(which is the target) you can use the following snippet -
sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("parentMainSymbol").getSymbol("ChildSymbol").$(" childRectangle")
Now, the parent of this is ChildSymbol whose reference could be obtained by -
sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("parentMainSymbol").getSymbol("ChildSymbol").$(" childRectangle")[0].offsetParent
The info about the parent symbol is just being printed in the console view for the attached composition. This would print it out for -
#Stage_parentMainSymbol_childSymbol which is the parent symbol of the target childRectangle under consideration.
Kindly, take a look and let me know if it solves your problem.
Thanks and Regards,

Name-service-cache (nscd) and LDAP
We are running Solaris 10u6 with the latest patches and have an issue with nscd. Periodically nscd will stop authenticating ssh sessions and requires restart to allow people to login. Our /etc/nsswitch.conf passwd line is "passwd: files ldap". Our LDAP back end is Sun Directory Server EE 6.3. Restarting nscd with svcadm restart name-service-cache clears the issue.
Has anyone else seen this behavior?Hi
I raised this with SUN and they did state it may be a bug by the symptoms of the problem I gave. They have also suggested installing the patch you have mentioned. When we hit the problem again I will be generated a core dump of the nscd process so that sun can do further analysis. If I get anything inetersting back I shall post it up. But its 99% looking like the bug and that patch 141030 will be required.

'use dynamic name' and 'caching properites' options for alias table...
Hello everybody,
can anybody please explain 'use dynamic name' and 'caching properites' options for alias tables...
Thanks...
eagerly waiting for a response..
VijayYou want to create dynamic target table name right?
You can refresh a variable like #GET_SESSION
#GET_SESSION= SELECT <%=odiRef.getSession("SESS_NAME")%> FROM DUAL
My tmp table name like TMP_#GET_SESSION
then in your package refresh #GET_SESSION variable and you can use it.
I hope this can be helpful

Query to find the parent group name
what is/are the table name that i should use to find the parent name of the job?
thank you,
warrenHi Warren,
The parent group name (dbo.jobmst.jobmst_prntname) can be found within jobmst table.
For example, the below query will return parent name of a specified job:
SELECT dbo.jobmst.jobmst_prntname
FROM dbo.jobmst
WHERE dbo.jobmst.jobmst_name = 'Enter name of job here'

hi,

Regards
Vinay KumarNo, that will not compile. You probably need to do:
SpacesContext sc = SpacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
String spaceName = sc.getCurrentSpaceName();
Beware that the doc says "Return the SpacesContext instance for the request that is being processed by the current thread, if any."
So the SpacesContext might be null.
