Parser similar to Actionscript 3(Standard ECMA-357)

Hi i've used the xml parser in Actionscript 3 extensively and i'm wondering if there is a similar parser i Java(it seems to be kind of a jungle)
Edited by: Kribba on Oct 25, 2007 1:59 AM

I don't know anything about that parser. But Java comes with a compliant XML parser built into it. Unless you have some special requirements for parsing you could just use that.

    Thanks Michael, for your prompt reply.
    I can see that some of the XML library/functions are available in the ExtendScript Editor - but I just wanted to make sure that I'm not missing something.

  • Edge Animate/javscript API command similar to Actionscript fscommand('quit')?

    Our company recently replaced Flash with Edge Animate due to some major memory leak issues when pulling in dynamic data for our digital signage.
    In Actionscript, it was easy to signal to the digital signage player that the movie was ending with a custom fscommand.
    However, in HTML5, im having issues with how to do this in javascript. I currently do not see anything in the JSAPI for Edge Animate that would allow me to signal a third party player to end and unload the animation that is playing.
    I need to do this because the length of the animation is based on how much XML data I parse. This amount of data can change daily (10 seconds per xml node).
    Has anyone has a similar issue with this in the past and found a solution?
    Or perhaps I'm doing this incorrectly and I should be dynamically be creating the animation based on the available nodes in the timeline.
    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Hi ,
    We have a timeline complete event in Edge Animate which would signal the completion of the animation. You can add your code for the timeline complete and then perform the appropriate action here.

  • How to learn java script in indesign

    Dear Sir,
    I am a template designer, I am interesting on Indesign scripting but I don't know basic knowledge in software languages. So Please help me which languages i should learn for indesign scripting. (some of them saying C language is must). Is c language is essential or Shall i go directly with java script. And also i want Beginners indesign scripting guide (not advanced) and give me some tips how should i develop skills in a short period. Please advice me.

    +1
    What we call here "InDesign JavaScript" (DOM+language) is syntactically based on Adobe ExtendScript, which derives from E4X (ECMAScript for XML) and ECMAScript itself. (JavaScript is known as an implementation of the ECMAScript standard.)
    In short terms, "InDesign JS" as a language should somewhat implement the ECMAScript and E4X specifications, i.e. ECMA-262 and ECMA-357:
    1) http://www.ecma-international.org/publications/standards/Ecma-262.htm
    2) http://www.ecma-international.org/publications/standards/Ecma-357.htm
    It is true that the JavaScript's syntax and conventions contain familiar echoes from C or even Java, but these languages are definitely different on the semantic level and I really don't believe it's a good idea to learn C before learning JS.

  • ActionScript Parser in ActionScript?

    Hi all,
          In the previous and old post (http://forums.adobe.com/message/223435) , people (and I) asked about a parser for ActionScript. My post was never  responsed, I am not sure whether the forum is still activated or not?
           I need if there is an ActionScript parser written in ActionScript. I know there are (almost complete) parsers for ActionScript (FlexPMD), but this one is in Java and is not very documented (the parser API at least).  I need the parser to modify source code (eg. wrap functions). If anybody has an idea, I would apreciate to hear it.
           PS: I looked about metaprogramming in AS3 as well, but it seems to be limited
    Thanks in advance,

  • Defaulting Standard Text into Vendor Text

    Hello,
    We have been asked if we can add functionality similar to the S010 standard texts in R/3, so that a SRM user can select from a list of standard texts. The text would default into the Vendor Text on the Shopping Cart, the user would be able to amend the text if required.
    Does anyone know if this is achievable? I assume it would have to be done via a BADI?
    Thank you.
    Kind Regards,
    Jackie Jones

    Hello Jackie,
    Use text schema to achieve your request: you can define fixed values for texts.
    In SRM 7.0 release, it is in IMG:
    SAP Implementation Guide > SAP Supplier Relationship Management > SRM Server > Cross-Application Basic Settings > Text Schema
    I think path is the same for lower releases.
    If you use fixed values, this means vendor text coming from your catalog has to make part of your fixed values.
    Regards.
    Laurent.

  • Severe Magenta Cast Some Cameras Adobe Standard

    Adobe Standard
    Generic Daylight Profile for Canon G10 Created by me with a Macbeth Chart and the DNG Profile Editor (not of this scene specifically) and Adobe Standard as the Base Profile.
    Images from a Canon Powershot G10.  Both have exactly the exactly the the same settings.  White Balance Auto and then Auto Tone with Brightness set back to default of 50.
    Download DNG file here
    Download Generic Daylight Profile for G10 used in this example here.
    Happens with my 5D (original) as well.  Does not happen with Leica M9 and can't say for any other cameras at this time.

    Actually, I wouldn't expect that much difference between most camera sensors under the same controlled conditions.  I suspect if you divided up the Adobe Standard profiles into sensors and other factors more meaningful than make and model, the differences might be more obvious.
    So, for example, I see little difference between a Nikon D80 and a Canon (which uses the same APC sensor technology [down to the manufacturer], I think) there is little difference. But when I compare Nikon and Ricoh I see a much more obvious difference. The fact is that the image guts of most DSLRs these days are made from one of at most three manufacturers.  The majority come from two. A few others that I recall had similar sensors and image processing engines also seemed pretty similar.
    The Adobe Standard is not about trying to pull the wool over our eyes.  It is about establishing a baseline for raw image manipulation.  The fact that most sensors and bodies will really respond pretty closely aside, there could be outliers. Making the standard based on the make and model allows for a more natural way to handle presets and what-not from the point of an application.  The fact that, under the covers, most cameras really respond quite similarly in similar median conditions is not all that interesting.
    It is at the extreme edges of image reproduction that the makes, models and even specific bodies will be most drastic (which is why getting to know your camera in extreme shooting conditions is important, and why being able to make your own profiles is so powerful.)
    At any rate, if your particular make and model (or even specific body) is not to your liking, it is pretty easy to make your own standard.  Because I don't have a studio, I've gone ahead and made "standards" like based on things like time of day (for natural light) or "my living room" which sometimes give me an easy out. No one needs to use Adobe Standard. Heck, if you really like the in-camera settings and Adobe profiling doesn't work then it may be that the vendor software is the way to go. Double heck, some professionals still think this whole raw thing is stupid and shoot JPEG. This solves a whole raft of problems -- decisions one doesn't even have to make.  Just get exposure right and go!

  • Why does the cell style index returning wrong CellFormat value when parsing excel cells using OpenXml SDK?

    Consider a General format cell having a value of 39.95. When I fetch the CellFormat of the cell it returns wrong cell format-

  • Ciscoworks feed parsing issue

    Sentinel 6.1 will not parse my feed from Ciscoworks. All network syslog
    data is collected by ciscoworks and stored in a file syslog.log. This
    file can be pulled by the collector manager as a file source or pushed
    via Snare to the collector mgr.. the data cannot be parsed using either
    method using standard Cisco Collector (Cisco IOS Router xx Cisco Switch
    and Router 6.1r2).
    Is there a working collector or do I have to build one?

    OK, hmm...
    1) At issue is more likely the Collector version, not so much the
    platform version. The old Collectors made an attempt at correcting some
    weird syslog formats, but the feature ended up being too confusing and
    error prone for us to support. The new Collectors only support proper
    RFC-compliant syslog, for a number of reasons which we can get into if
    you like.
    2) I may be wrong, but I believe a customer told me that latter-day
    versions of CiscoWorks introduced a syslog forwarding option. I poked
    around on Cisco for a bit, but there are hundreds of specific products
    with the 'CiscoWorks' label so I don't know what applies.
    3) OK, so here's the deal. RFC-compliant syslog message are constructed
    as:
    MMM DD HH:MM:SS hostid message
    The original message from your switch should look something like:
    Nov 11 15:30:17 172.253.248.33
    \/\/426174\/801DF193ED75\/CCAPI\/cc_api_call_connected:
    It actually looks like (guessing a bit, here:
    Nov 11 15:30:17 172.253.248.33 2182635: 418971: Nov 11 15:30:14.739:
    \/\/426174\/801DF193ED75\/CCAPI\/cc_api_call_connected:
    Which indicates that a couple numbers and another timestamp are being
    injected into the "message" portion. May or may not be an issue, if the
    Collector handles it that way - review the Collector doc for proper
    configuration details.
    But then your Epilog gets a hold of the message, and inserts *another*
    header:
    Nov 11 15:30:54 10.101.251.4 sm-ciscowks.smad2.savemart.com\t\t0\tNov
    11 15:30:17 172.253.248.33 2182635: 418971: Nov 11 15:30:14.739:
    \/\/426174\/801DF193ED75\/CCAPI\/cc_api_call_connected:
    This violates RFC3164 in a number of ways, namely:
    - it's not supposed to modify the original message IN ANY WAY if it's
    already a proper syslog message (of course, Epilog may assume it's NOT a
    syslog message, since it's in a file)
    - It's using a fully-qualified hostname in its header, which is NOT
    VALID
    - There are tab characters after the header, which aren't proper syslog
    characters
    If I couldn't configure Epilog to not be stupid, what I would do is
    create a little 'custom.js' script, and define my customerPreparse()
    method to strip off the entire ugly Epilog header, something like:
    Record.prototype.customPreparse = function() {
    this.s_RXBufferString =
    this.s_RXBufferString.substr(this.s_RXBufferString .lastIndexOf("\t"));
    (You may need to do the same thing to rec.s_Body as well, and note that
    I haven't tested this code at all!).
    Then just follow the normal process to inject custom.js into your
    Collectors, set the Execution Mode to 'custom', and you'll be up and
    running.
    NOTE: the major thing that Epilog is breaking here, however, is not the
    Collector - the Syslog Connector also does some minimal parsing of the
    input and will automatically create Event Source nodes based on the
    syslog header. The syslog header is supposed to list the hostid of the
    ORIGINAL event source as it's second element (after the timestamp), and
    by injecting the ciscoworks device hostid, Epilog breaks that (in our
    parlance, that's the Reporter, not the Observer).
    If you look directly at the file on the CiscoWorks device, what does it
    look like? Everything after the \t\t0\t in the sample you sent?
    You might ditch Epilog entirely and use something like tail -F or
    'netcat' instead, which won't add silly stuff to the messages.

  • XML-RPC via HTTPService

    I'm trying to make an XML-RPC call via an HTTPService

    </mx:HTTPService>
    Thanks for any advice.
    Tom

    I am having a similar problem, when I tried to read the
    contents of the POST in ASP it is blank.
    i'm sending some xml to asp from flex using the httpservice
    but when I try to parse the xml using the standard Microsoft.XMLDOM
    it always fails to parse the xml regardless of what xml I send.
    This leads me to think that flex is sending the xml incorrectly.
    flex code>
    request = new HTTPService();
    request.url="
    http://127.0.0.1/test.asp";
    request.contentType="application/xml"
    request.method="POST"
    request.resultFormat="text"
    request.request = XML(<test>testingxml</test>);
    request.addEventListener(ResultEvent.RESULT, success);
    request.addEventListener(FaultEvent.FAULT, fault);
    request.send();
    private function success(e:mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent):void {
    trace(e.result);
    private function fault(e:mx.rpc.events.FaultEvent):void {
    trace(e.message);
    my ASP code>
    Dim mydoc
    Set mydoc=Server.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM")
    mydoc.async=false
    mydoc.load(Request)
    Response.ContentType = "text/xml"
    if mydoc.parseError.errorcode<>0 then
    Response.write "<prob name='fail'>blah</prob>"
    else
    Response.write "<prob name='works'>yay</prob>"
    end if
    The asp script always sends <prob
    name='fail'>blah</prob> back to flex meaning that the xml
    failed to parse correctly. The xml is correct, if I load the same
    xml from a text file it will parse correctly, it only fails when
    the xml is loaded from flex.
    Does anyone know the exact format that the xml is sent in
    using the httpservice.send() method? I tried using Request.Form in
    ASP but it only gives the error printed at the bottom of this post.
    BTW is there anyway to get flex to trace error messages given
    from ASP when a script fails as I can't read them in a browser
    (because the request is sent using POST). When ASP gives an error
    flex either does not respond or gives this error which does not
    help my cause.

    EDIT:
    I wrote the value of the ASP request (sent from flex) to a
    text file and I ended up getting blank, in other words no XML. Now
    i'm not even sure if flex is sending any xml.
