Hi,
let me see if I understand you well.
BSP -
You wrote the code for catching the user name in the event OnCreate, which means that you know who´s working with the BSP application when it starts.
Somewhere you must have a button or something with text like "Call WDA application". When user presses the button, it triggers events OnInputProcessing. Here you must write the code for the cookie that "sends" the parameter(s), something like:
CALL METHOD cl_bsp_server_side_cookie=>set_server_cookie
  EXPORTING
    name                  = 'MY_COOKIE'
    application_name      = 'ZUSER_NAME_GET'
    application_namespace = 'ZUSER_NAME_GET'
    username              =  sy-uname
    session_id            = 'SAME_FOR_ALL'
    data_value            = PAGE_DATA
    data_name             = 'PAGE_DATA'
    EXPIRY_TIME_REL       = 3600.
you call then the URL for the WDA application.
WDA -
probably in method WDDOINIT of the component controller you´ll write the code for reading the "content" of the cookie:
CALL METHOD cl_bsp_server_side_cookie=>get_server_cookie
  EXPORTING
    name                  = 'MY_COOKIE'
    application_name      = 'ZUSER_NAME_GET'
    application_namespace = 'ZUSER_NAME_GET'
    username              =  sy-uname
    session_id            = 'SAME_FOR_ALL'
    data_name             = 'PAGE_DATA'
CHANGING
    data_value            = PAGE_DATA.
read more about the cookies in SDN, because I am not sure if this is the correct example for transmiting values. I´ve used it in conjunction of instructions IMPORT and EXPORT for transmiting an internal table.
if this is not working properly, then try with IMPORT TO MEMORY and EXPORT FROM MEMORY.

  • Live view doesn't correctly pass URL parameters from HTML docs?

    Running into something that I wonder if anyone else has seen.  I've created a site in DW CS5 with a local testing server (XAMPP on Win7), and if I use LiveView to view an HTML page that has a link to a PHP page that includes a URL parameter, the parameter shows up in the LiveView address bar, but the page doesn't seem to use it (trying to display an image where the file is built using $_GET to retrieve the parameter).  The same HTML page, displayed in a browser, works.  And if I then save the HTML page as a PHP page in DW, identical code, LiveView works.  Sure looks like LiveView will does not properly handle URL parameters from HTML documents...

    Sorry if I wasn't clear... the navigation works correctly; I get to the page I'm tyring to get to.  One of the things that page should do is display an image, the I use a URL parameter to build the image file name to retrieve.  The link in the first page is something like <a href="gallery.php?pg=1">.  Works fine if the first page (the one I'm navigating from) is a PHP page, doesn't work (with the same code which is only HTML) if the page is an HTML page.

  • Trouble Passing URL Parameters between Applications

    Hi All,
    I am having trouble Passing URL Parameters between Applications for BW queries as data sources. I know I am getting the data from the sending application correctly, because I an printing to the screen using a Text Component.
    Date From: 1/1/2008
    Date To: 3/14/2014
    Here is the code from the sending application On Select :
    "http://localhost:56572/aad/web.do?APPLICATION=WIMO_SUMMARY_OPEN_DETAIL&designersessionid=37a1cfaa7e734cd9afa35cb4cd627d41" +

    Here is the code from the recieving application Global Script Variable"

    Xv_DateTo         String     True
    Here is the code from the receiving application On Startup"
    DS_2.setFilter("0CALDAY",[Xv_DateFrom, Xv_DateTo]);
    When I click the results of the sending Application the popup window opens for the receiving application but I get all the records for the BW receiving query, it does not restrict to the values in ("ZPORDAT3") 1/1/2008 and ("ZPORDAT5") Date To: 3/14/2014.
    So, I would expect it is my receiving code, but I am not sure.
    Hope you can help?

    Hi Norman,
    As Jörg said, please put "&" before each of your variable names at your url. For the second part,I didn't try it for date intervals but keep in mind just in case:
    APPLICATION.openNewWindow("http://localhost:56572/aad/web.do?APPLICATION=WIMO_SUMMARY_OPEN_DETAIL&designersessionid=37a1cfaa7e734cd9afa35cb4cd627d41" +
    "&Xv_DateFrom=" + DS_1.getVariableValueExt("ZPORDAT3") +
    "&Xv_DateTo=" + DS_1.getVariableValueExt("ZPORDAT5"));
    Here is the code from the recieving application Global Script Variable"
    Xv_DateFrom     String     True
    Xv_DateTo         String     True
    Here is the code from the receiving application On Startup"
    DS_2.setFilterExt("0CALDAY", {"low": Xv_DateFrom , "high " : Xv_DateTo});

  • Passing URL parameters to WD application

    Hi!
    To pass URL parameters to WD application I currenly inbound plug 'defauld' (of type 'Startup') of main window. I use following code:
    types:
        begin of param_t,
          name type string,
          value type string,
        end of param_t.
      data: params type standard table of param_t.
      data: param like line of params.
      wdevent->get_data(
        exporting
          name = '_ALL_URL_PARAMETERS'
        importing
          value = params
    It works fine but this plug is called after init methods of the component controller an of the view. So if I want to do something with parameters, I must do in this plug.
    Is there way to pass URL parameters in a WD app. so that they were available from the very beginning of the application work i.e. in init method of the component controller etc.?
    Thanks!

    I had the same requirement too. There are a couple of threads on the subject as well, I've posted in one of them but had no answer:
    Re: Read URL Parameters programmatically
    The workaround i've used is this, it's definitely not as neat as I would like to since you end up having two initialization methods per controller, WDDOINIT and the one you create (for each controller you want to run code in using the received parameters). Nevertheless, it works:
    1) Create an event in your component controller, for example INIT_COMPLETED.
    2) Define a new method in your component controller, e.g. INIT_AFTER_WINDOW. This method receives an Importing parameter TYPE tihttpnvp. It uses this received HTTP parameters for the initialization logic and finally raises the INIT_COMPLETED event (This is the method that "replaces" WDDOINIT).
    3) In the Window's Inbound plug handler, you get the HTTP parameters (with wdevent->get_data) and afterwards call the method WD_COMP_CONTROLLER->INIT_AFTER_WINDOW (maybe you need to declare the usage previously in the Window to have the reference available).
    4) Finally, if you need some of the Views to be initialized afterwards the component controller's INIT_AFTER_WINDOW runs (for example to show some initialization messages), you'll have to replace the WDDOINIT method with an INIT_AFTER_COMPCTRL method and subscribe it to the component controller's INIT_COMPLETED event.
    I hope you got the idea, and more importantly, that we get some cleaner solution from SAP for achieving this in the future.

    INIT_AFTER_WINDOW is the method to be called on step 3

  • Issues passing drillthrough parameters from a multi-level tablix in SSRS 2008 R2

    Hello,
    I am really struggling with trying creating a drillthrough report that starts with a matrix (tablix)  and passing those  parameters. I am using SSRS 2008 R2.
    Here's my scenario:
    I have a matrix that has mulitple levels where you can drill down. Here an example with all the levels open:
    Active
    Term
    Leave
    Total
    128
    88
    121
    United States

    Druex

    1
    15
    Tours
    5
    5
    13
    I want to drillthrough to another report - Detail Report. As I understand it, I would click the 65 for New York and I would see the detail for the 65 Active people. If I click the 2 under Blois, I would see the 2 terminated people in Blois. My understanding
    for this to work, the Detail Report would need a a parameter for each of the level possibilities in the matrix that I could click: Country, State, City as well as the Status (Active, Term, Leave).
    While I understand about passing parameters, what I don't understand is how to pass the parameters if they are blank. Let's say I clicked 65 for New York, I would need to pass State = New York  Status = Active. But the remaining parameters (Country
    and City  would be null). I know Country doesn't need to be Null in this case.
    My Detail Report has the parameters defaulted to Null, but whether I put the parameters in a Filter for the dataset or in the query itself, I cannot get it to ignore the Nulls.
    As a crazy work-around (I think) I can put in the Where of the query  something along the lines of: this:
            and (a.Country in (@paramCountryCode) or NULL  in (@paramCountryCode) )
    and I would need to do that for each parameter. Usually I have to use 'ALL' instead of NULL, I'm note sure why.
    Additionally, in the Report Action of the Main Report, I need to pass those parameters for each level and their Status. I am also not clear whether or not I need to put in all the parameters on each of the levels (Country, State, City) of the matrix. And if
    I do, do I need to make the expressions an IIF statement stating whether or not they are In Scope?
    All the examples I was able to find, only showed one or maybe two parameters being passed. Doing the way I am trying, seems convoluted, error-prone and tedious. I really hope that I am wrong.
    Is there a better way to approach drilltrough reports from a matrix when there are multiple levels?
    Thank you for the help.
    ~J

    Hi Jenna_Fire,
    According to your description, you have a matrix contains total for each group on each level. Now your requirement is, when you click on any number (data field or total), it will go to the detail report which returns all the detail information of the people
    within the group scope. For example, if you click on the total of Active users in United States, it will return the detail information of Active users in New York and Texas. Right?
    In this scenario, we should set the parameter (@Country, @State, @City) allow multiple values in both main and detail report. And in Default Value (@Country, @State, @City), query out all distinct values. In the textbox which contains
    those total values, when set use these parameters to run the report, we only need to pass the parameters of parent groups. For example, if we click on the total of Active users in New York, we only need to pass Country, State, Status to detail report, and
    in the detail report, the City parameter will use all distinct values (Default Values) because we don't pass the City parameter. We have tested this case with sample data in our local environment. Here are steps and screenshots for your reference:
    1. Create parameter Country, State, City and Status in both main report and detail report. Set both Available Value and Default Value get values from query (Create a dataset for each parameter, use "select distinct [column] from [table]" as query). Set allow
    multiple values for parameter Country, State and City in both reports.
    2. In corresponding textbox, pass appropriate parameters in go to report Action.
    4. Filter data in detail report (in where clause or using filters).
    5. Save and preview. It looks like below:

  • Pass Checkbox Parameters from HTML Form to a stored procedure

    I'm still looking for a solution to my forms problem. FYI, I'm not using Applications Express to build my application--I'm using straight PL/SQL. I need to know how to pass checkbox parameters from my Web form. I'm allowing folks to select one or more checkboxes on a form that will call a delete function to delete the selected records. What I read in Oracle's "Database Application Developer's Guide - Fundamentals" isn't helpful to me. If someone would point me to some examples, maybe I could see what I'm doing wrong. Here's what was written in "Database Application Developer's Guide - Fundamentals":
    All the checkboxes with the same NAME attribute make up a checkbox group. If none of the checkboxes in a group is checked, the stored procedure receives a null value for the corresponding parameter.
    If one checkbox in a group is checked, the stored procedure receives a single VARCHAR2 parameter.
    If more than one checkbox in a group is checked, the stored procedure receives a parameter with the PL/SQL type TABLE OF VARCHAR2. You must declare a type like this, or use a predefined one like OWA_UTIL.IDENT_ARR. To retrieve the values, use a loop:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE handle_checkboxes ( checkboxes owa_util.ident_arr )
    AS
    BEGIN
    FOR i IN 1..checkboxes.count
    LOOP
    htp.print('&lt;p&gt;Checkbox value: ' || checkboxes(i));
    END LOOP;
    END;
    SHOW ERRORS;

    I'm not sure I understand what your issue is.
    If your web form has the following checkboxes defined all with the same name:
    <input type="checkbox" name="attrib" value="1">one</input>
    <input type="checkbox" name="attrib" value="2">two</input>
    <input type="checkbox" name="attrib" value="3">three</input>Then you would create and register a procedure to handle the form submission that has a parameter with the name attrib of type owa_util.ident_arr e.g.:
    create or replace procedure handle_form(attrib owa_util.ident_arr) as
      iter number;
    begin
      for iter in attrib.first .. attrib.last loop
        -- do something with attrib(iter)
      end loop;
    end;
    /Now the one problem with this handler (or any form handler for that matter) is that if the user selects none of the check boxes, or no value for any of the expected parameters, the handler would be called with some parameters missing or with out any parameters passed to it, and the call will error out.
    To get around that you need to provide default values for all the parameters passed to your handler including the ident_arr parameters, however with ident_arr parameters that's difficult to do with standalone procedures. If you place your procedure in a package you can define package level variables of the appropriate types that can be used as default values:
    create or replace package my_web as
      empty_arr owa_util.ident_arr;
      procedure handle_form(attrib owa_util.ident_arr := empty_arr);
    end my_web;
    create or replace package body my_web as
      procedure handle_form(attrib owa_util.ident_arr := empty_arr) as
        iter number;
      begin
        for iter in attrib.first .. attrib.last loop
          -- do something with attrib(iter)
        end loop;
      end;
    end my_web;
    /now when you hit the situation where the user doesn't select any check boxes, the call to handle_form won't err out due to missing parameters, and the empty_arr won't have any elements to iterate over so the loop in the procedure body will be fine and you will be able to retrieve each selected check box value from the attrib array when you iterate over it.

    I will to received course_ref and staff_ref in the PL/SQL page and pass the values to SQL query so that its filtered.
    Can pls anyone guide me? If there is any alternate way or there is sample code pls let me know
    Many Thanks
    Ganesh

    Hi Mick,
    Thanks for your reply. However my problem is still not resolved.
    I have created a Omniportlet with lists the staff details. When I click on the staff link I am passing to parameters as follows
    http://servername/pls/portal/url/PAGE/CCM_MIS_PORTAL/TUTOR_HOME/Course_Info?Param1=10017031/M2523&Param2=001434
    on the receving page I have a omni portlet which must receive these 2 parameters and pass it on to the query and filter the results.
    On the received page I have created 2 page parameters (Param1 and Param2)
    I have assigned these 2 paramaters to the portlet paramers through page parameters' section
    on the omni portlet in the query I have created 2 bind variables (p1, p2) and the default value of the bind variable is set using ##Param1## and ##Param2## so the received values from page is passed to to bind variable and hence to the query.
    However the omni portlet is not received the parameters and I can not figure out whats wrong?
    Is there any problem with my URL (guide says I should use relative URL)
    Please help

    Escape is not really meant for urls because it encodes the

  • Passing input parameters from an applet to a JSP page

    Hello all,
    Yes, its one of these questions which I have tried to find a solution from the already large number of postings but with no luck. I'm still a novice to Java/JSP so bear with me.
    Consider this scenario.
    1. An applet which has two input boxes (say First name and surname). 2. These parameters will be passed to a JSP page (so the applet will call a JSP page).
    3. The JSP will have have the necessary logic (or actually a JavaBean will) to connect to a database and add a new record with these parameters (first name and surname).
    I also need to consider editing/updating the record in the database. So a JSP page will connect to the database, retrieving the required record from the database and then display the parameters back in an applet in two input boxes (first name and surname) to be edited and saved again.
    I have been able to develop a similar application using simple HTML forms to add and update records in a database so I'm not worried about the database connectivity simply the issue of passing parameters from the applet to the JSP page and vice versa (for edit/update).
    Once i've managed to do this with input boxes, I can experiment with the other input types radios, checkboxes, select etc.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Assad

  • Passing URL parameters to WD app in URL IView

    Hi experts,
    I'm using EP 7.2 and as I found out this version doesn't support Web Dynpro Java iview template so I'm using URL iview template for my Web Dynpro Java application. My requirement is to somehow pass some URL parameter (which is id for something in my app) to the WD app in the URL iview. So in this scenario setting the URL parameters and their values during design time for the iview is not suitable. I tried DynamicParameter=id%3D154 for example but it doesn't work. Do someone has any ideas to solve this problem? Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Martin
    Edited by: musaka on Oct 27, 2009 1:12 PM

    Hi Musaka,
    If i am not mistaken, your requirement is to display a URL iView to user with some parameters (contained within the Address Bar of the Browser) to be passed to the iView. Initially as no parameter value can be defined on previewing the iView or opening the iView, no value is passed to iView. But in case, when you directly enter the Parameter Values against Parameter Names in Address Bar and then say go, the page should reload and pick the parameter values from URL in Address Bar instead.
    Steps to follow:
    1. Put     CustomerId=0&RequestId=0            in the Application Parameter property of the URL iView.
    2. Put the following lines of code in the wdDoInit() in the implementation tab of the View Controller to retrieve and use the passed parameter value in the View of the application and then say Organize Imports from the context menu.
    int customerId = WDProtocolAdapter().getProtocolAdapter().getRequestObject().getParameter("CustomerId");
    int requestId = WDProtocolAdapter().getProtocolAdapter().getRequestObject().getParameter("RequestId");
    Please revert in case of any issue.

  • How to pass Multivalue parameters from main report to the subreport to a database stored procedure

    I am having a Main Report, where the user selects the parameters, and calls the subreport which in turn calls the stored proc which updates the report parameters table, which will be used by all the other sub reports to filter data on.
    It works fine when I pass single values from the Main report to the sub report, and it updates the database, but when I map the formula field to the subreport, the subreport does not even show up, and nothing happens on the database. I am thinking the subreport is not executing. I am using the 'Change Subreport Links' to map the formula fields to the subreport parameters.
    Please let me know if there is any other work around or a sample report which solves a similar problem.

    That is definitely a problem. CR 11.0 has been out of support for 5+ years(?). CR 11.5 has been out of support for close to 3 years.
    As far as I am concerned, the suggestions given here are going for naught as presumably they are based on recent builds of CR (E.g.; CR 12.x or higher). I really doubt that Abhilash or Jamie remember if CR 11.0 had problems related to the issue at hand. But they do know that their suggestions work in current versions of CR.
    Thus a suggestion; I suspect that you should be able to obtain an image from your IT where you can install CR 11.0 and update it to CR 11.5. Then use this as a proof of concept to the powers that be in your org that it is time to get with the times. BTW.; the most current version of CR is CR 2013, version 14.1.x(!). Again, something that your org should be aware of. So, even better than updating the image to CR 11.5, download the free 30 day eval of CR 2013 and try the suggestions in that version. The eval download is here:
    SME Free Trials | SME Software | SAP
    BTW.; CR 2013 is a side by side install, meaning that it will happily co-exist with your current CR 11.0 install.

  • Pass URL parameters to parent window, which is not in VC

    Hi,
    I developed a web application which is calling a VC iView in a new browser window, now I have the problem that I have to pass back URL parameters to the parent window. Is there any possibility to use JavaScript or is there some other solution?
    Thanks fpr your help.
    Kind regards,
    Timo

    Hi Mario,
    thanks a lot for your answer. If I understand correctly your solution works only if the other web application in the parent window is also located in the portal, unfortunately my web application is outside the portal.
    Is there a solution for this, or should I look for something else than using Visual Composer?
    Kind regards,
    Timo
