Passing a parameter using c#

Does anybody have a code sample for passing a parameter to a report in C# (2010)?  Any samples I can find refer to older versions of Crystal Reports.
Thanks!

example:
            ReportDocument cryRpt = new ReportDocument();
            string filePath = aPath + @"reports\" + report;
            cryRpt.Load(filePath);
            ParameterFieldDefinition PFD = null;
            ParameterValues PValues = null;
            ParameterDiscreteValue Parm = null;
            PValues = new ParameterValues();
            PFD = cryRpt.DataDefinition.ParameterFields["id"];
            Parm = new ParameterDiscreteValue();
            Parm.Value = reparm;
            PValues.Add(Parm);
            PFD.ApplyCurrentValues(PValues);
            cryreportviewer.ReportSource = cryRpt;
            cryreportviewer.Zoom(100);
            cryreportviewer.ToolPanelView = ToolPanelViewType.None;
            cryreportviewer.Refresh();
"id" is he name of the parameter in the report, hope it helps

  • How to pass servlet parameter using encodeURL function in JSP page

    Hi!!!
    I have a very urgently problem.
    in my JSP I have this:
    <IMG border="0" src='<%=response.encodeURL("/MyImageServlet")%>'>
    In this way, my servlet works fine (and I have in my page my blob-image).
    But I have to pass to my servlet a list of dynamic parameter. I have tried all the possibilities like:
    <IMG border="0" src='<%= (response.encodeURL("/MyImageServlet") + "?Param_name=" + sessionBean.getParamValue() + "&anotherParam" + sessionBean.getAnotherParamValue())%>'
    but nothing....
    In my servlet I use the init function to retrieve the initial parameters(defined in my web.xml file) in this way:
    public void init(ServletConfig config) throws ServletException
    super.init(config);
    myParam = getInitParameter( "name_of_param");
    but I retrieve only the default value (-1).
    How to pass to my servlet the parameters? Please help me!
    Excuse me for my english,
    thank you for your help!

  • Having trouble passing a parameter through a button, php

    Hello all,
    I'm new to the forum and to web design and Dreamweaver, please go a little easy on me!
    I'm currently in the process of making a fantasy football website in Dreamweaver and phpmyadmin. When a user visits the site and wants to enter the competition they click register which brings up the register page. There they can fill out the form containing details username, password etc. When they click the register button at the bottom of the form their details are put into the users table in the database and they are passed onto the next page where they are asked to pick their team. The team details are kept in a seperate table in the database.
    What i'm trying to do is pass the username that is created in the register form to the pick team page as a parameter.
    Currently the code for my button is as follows:
    <input type="submit" value="Insert record" />
    and the sql for after insert goto is currently?
    $insertGoTo = "pickteam.php";
    In another section of the site i have passed a parameter with a link as follows:
    <a href="editgoalkeeper.php?gkid_gk=<?php echo $row_rs_viewgks['gkid_gk'];?>">
    but i'm not sure how to pass a parameter using a submit button, can anyone help me please?

    Please pardon my ignorance, i'm still very new to web development and Dreamweaver.
    Please could you give me an example of how i would go about coding the above?

    How to pass Cascading Parameter in SSRS using Java---
    We are having a problem with dependent parameters.There are three drop down--

    Take a look at set_custom_property:
    public static final ID SETTEXT = ID.registerProperty("SETTEXT");
    public boolean setProperty(ID pid, Object value)
        if (pid == SETTEXT)
    String text = value.toString();
    and in forms
    set_custom_property('beans.bean_item', 1, 'SETTEXT', 'some text');

  • Passing comma "," to a report parameter using URL reporting

    I have a simple report, which contains a string parameter.  Everything work fine, except when I pass a string with "," in the parameter value.
    I tryed the following url and both of them does not work, I also modify the report to display the pass-in prompt value and the string is cut off after the ","
    Example 1:
    http://.../crystalreportviewers115/viewrpt.aspx?id=42364&prompt0=ABC&apsauthtype=secEnterprise&apspassword=p1&apsuser=u1&viewer=actx
    Output:
    ABC shows up and the report run fine.
    Example 2:
    http://.../crystalreportviewers115/viewrpt.aspx?id=42364&prompt0=AB,C&apsauthtype=secEnterprise&apspassword=p1&apsuser=u1&viewer=actx
    Output:
    Only AB shows up and the report run with AB as the parameter's value.
    Example 3:
    http://.../crystalreportviewers115/viewrpt.aspx?id=42364&prompt0=AB%2CC&apsauthtype=secEnterprise&apspassword=p1&apsuser=u1&viewer=actx
    Output:
    Only AB shows up and the report run with AB as the parameter's value.
    How do I pass the "," in the URL

    Since you are using viewrpt.aspx (instead of opendocument), you would pass a comma using promptex instead of prompt
    so an example url would be:
    http://.../crystalreportviewers115/viewrpt.aspx?id=42364&promptex0="AB,C"&apsauthtype=secEnterprise&apspassword=p1&apsuser=u1&viewer=actx

  • How to pass a parameter into execute sql task and later use it into dataflow task?

    i am in a situation, where i have a logging table in which i have a primary key called ETL_log_ID which is an identity column and acts as a foreign key for various fact table and dimension tables which are populated using SSIS packages. Now i wanna use the
    ETL_log_ID as a parameter in the execute sql task which populates the log table and pass the same value in the data flow task which populates the facts and dimension. Can you let me know how to pass the parameter in a step by step procedure.

  • Can I pass a parameter to a mapping without using a process flow?

    I have to load data from multiple countries at different times. Rather than creating an individual mapping for each country, I want to create 1 mapping and pass the country code as a parameter to the mapping. I tried to use an input parameter in the mapping and add a custom parameter to the sqlplus_exec_template hoping the custom parameter would pass to the mapping input parameter but it's not working. No data loads.
    When I add a default value to the input parameter, the data loads but this isn't the solution I need. The value of the parameter will vary depending on the country so I can't use defaults. Since the mappings load automatically, I need the script to be able to pass the parameter in.
    I'm trying to avoid going through a process flow because that just seems like overkill for what I need to do. I just want to load all the data where country code = 'X'. Is this even possible?

    o.k. I tried everything to see which would be the best scenario.
    Zeppo - I can't use your solution because ".main", I believe, applies to an older version of OWB. We have 10g. I know in 3.1 ".main" applies because I still have mappings from that version. Doesn't apply to 10g.
    Sutirtha - I set the property for the prompt but it still didn't work.
    MccM - Yes, the premapping process works perfectly. Only thing is that I have to come up with so many different scenarios in the If then else logic. Giving me a migraine ...
    .... so ....
    I punked out and created a table that stores all of the load times by country code. In the joiner, I linked the table's country code to the country code in my view and only retrieved data where the table's load hour equals the sysdate hour. Now all I have to do is change an entry in the working table if I need to reschedule a load.
    It's cluggy but it works ... and I met me goal of only using 1 mapping.
    Thanks to all of you for providing your input. Much appreciated.

  • Passing Parameter using GET or Post in J2ME

    I have a problem passing parameter which has space between character to Servlet through GET or POST method. I am using HttpConnection. Which works properly whenever i sending data without space, else it shows Exception for space in URL.
    If i use trim method which is Client side scrpiting then i am not able to update the database which takes input from the J2ME midlet.
    Can any1 help me how to pass the parameter with space.

    Hi Mark,
    The "number" format relies on the formats supported by the JS
    native Number object. We don't actually do any number parsing
    ourselves in Spry. One workaround, if you need things to sort
    properly, is to have one column that is formatted european numbers,
    and one column that is actually supported by the Number object. You
    can create this custom column by using a filter:
    function DataFilter(ds, row, rowIndex)
    row["@premieNumber"] = new
    Number(row["@premieNumber"].replace(/,/, "."));
    return row;
    Regarding the Request() object and your setURL() call ... the
    3rd arg to setURL is optional, and only necessary if you are going
    to use POST, or specify some header to send. If you do use post or
    want to send some specific header, the 3rd arg just has to be an
    object with only whatever options you want to specify, you don't
    have to specify them all ... the options names exactly match the
    fields defined in a Spry.Utils.loadURL.Request object.
    We do have a utility class that gathers all of the input
    values in a form. You will find it in Spry 1.6 in SpryUtils.js. The
    name of the function to call is:
    var str = Spry.Utils.extractParamsFromForm(form, elements);
    The 2nd arg is optional, and allows you to specify what
    element values you want to retrieve. If it is not specified, it
    gets all values in the form.

  • How to pass a parameter into a select statement using a bulk collect

    Using a cursors I can use execute immediate to pass a parameter to specify a table name.
    I have modified the procedure not to use the cursor. I am using a collection using a bulk insert into a nested table. How can I specify the table the table name as a parameter without using the execute immediate statement.
    Thank you

    Hi Donald,
        The functionality of using a parameter in a function is only available in the formula editor and not in SQL Expression. Parameters cannot be passed to the SQL Expression, the main purpose of the SQL Expression is to make use of Database functions to make calculations at the database level but the current functionality of the product only allows you to use Database fields.
    There is an article that talks on SQL Expressions and can be useful http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/KanisaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=c2016184&sliceId=&dialogID=6018612&stateId=1%200%206020316

  • How to pass value to select-option parameter using SET PARAMETER Command

    Hi,
        Am passing values to selection-screen fields in report RV13A004 ( used in VK11, VK12 and VK13). using below statement but material number is select-option in this report. am able to pass  MATERIAL FROM using SET PARAMETER ID, can i know how to pass values MATERIAL TO range in select-options fields using SET PARAMETER Command ??
    Passing values to parameter id
    set parameter id 'VKS' field kschl.
    set parameter id 'VKO' field vkorg.
    set parameter id 'VTW' field vtweg.
    set parameter id 'KDA' field erdat.
    set parameter id 'MAT' field matnr_from.
    Change condition price.
    call transaction 'VK12' and skip first screen.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Balamurugan.

    Hi,
    instead of using set parameters and dden call transaction use this..........
    submit RV13A004  WITH SELECTION-TABLE rspar
    Effect
    If you specify this addition, parameters and selection criteria on the selection screen are supplied from an internal table rspar. You must specify an internal table with the row type RSPARAMS for rspar. The structured data type RSPARAMS is defined in the ABAP Dictionary and has the following components, all of which are data type CHAR:
    SELNAME (length 8),
    KIND (length 1),
    SIGN (length 1),
    OPTION (length 2),
    LOW (length 45),
    HIGH (length 45).
    To supply parameters and selection criteria for the selection screen with specific values, the lines in the internal table rspar must contain the following values:
    SELNAME must contain the name of a parameter or selection criterion for the selection screen in block capitals
    KIND must contain the type of selection screen component (P for parameters, S for selection criteria)
    SIGN, OPTION, LOW, and HIGH must contain the values specified for the selection table columns that have the same names as the selection criteria; in the case of parameters, the value must be specified in LOW and all other components are ignored.
    If the name of a selection criterion is repeated in rspar, this defines a selection table containing several lines and passes it on to the selection criterion. If parameter names occur several times, the last value is passed on to the parameter.
    The contents of the parameters or selection tables for the current program can be entered in the table by the function module RS_REFRESH_FROM_SELECTOPTIONS.
    Notes
    In contrast to selection tables, the data types of the components LOW and HIGH in table rspar are always of type CHAR and are converted to the type of the parameter or selection criterion during transfer, if necessary.
    When entering values, you must ensure that these are entered in the internal format of the ABAP values, and not in the output format of the screen display.
    Cheers
    Will.

  • Passing parameter using submit

    Hi all
    how to pass the parameter over using the submit? What is the syntax and how to retieve the parameter over another program?
    Any help. Many thanks!

    SUBMIT - selscreen_parameters
    Syntax
    ... [USING SELECTION-SET variant]
        [USING SELECTION-SETS OF PROGRAM prog]
        [WITH SELECTION-TABLE rspar]
        [WITH expr_syntax1 WITH expr_syntax2 ...]
        [WITH FREE SELECTIONS texpr] ... .
    Extras:
    1. ... USING SELECTION-SET variant
    2. ... USING SELECTION-SETS OF PROGRAM prog
    3. ... WITH SELECTION-TABLE rspar
    4. ... WITH expr_syntax1 WITH expr_syntax2 ...
    5. ... WITH FREE SELECTIONS texpr
    Effect
    USING-SELECTION-SET supplies all the selection screen components by means of a Variant variant. If you specify USING-SELECTION-SETS OF PROGRAM, you can use a variant from a different program; if you specify WITH SELECTION-TABLE, values for several selection screen components are transferred as the content of an internal table rspar; WITH expr_syntax supplies individual selection screen components with values. The addition WITH FREE SELECTIONS allows you to transfer free selections to the selection screen for alogical database.
    Addition 1
    ... USING SELECTION-SET variant
    Effect
    If you specify this edition, the parameters and selection criteria for the selection screen are supplied with values from a variant. For variant, you must specify a character-like data object that contains the name of a variant for the program accessed when the statement is executed. If the variant does not exist, the system sends an error message. If the variant belongs to a different selection screen, it is ignored.
    Note
    You can create and manage variants for every program in which selection screens are defined, either in the ABAP Workbench or during execution of the program by choosing Goto - Variants on a selection screen.
    Addition 2
    ... USING SELECTION-SETS OF PROGRAM prog
    Effect
    If you specify this addition, the variants of the program prog are used in the program accessed. For prog, you must specify a character-like data object that contains the name of a program when the statement is executed. The addition has the following effect:
    If a variant variant is specified with USING SELECTION-SET, the system searches for this variant in the program prog.
    If the selection screen is displayed with VIA SELECTION-SCREEN, all the functions that can be accessed by means of the menu path Goto - Variants affect the variants of the program prog. However, these functions are only active if prog is an executable program.
    Note
    The program prog should contain a selection screen that has the same parameters and selection criteria as the selection screen used in the program accessed.
    Addition 3
    ... WITH SELECTION-TABLE rspar
    Addition 4
    ... WITH expr_syntax1 WITH expr_syntax2 ...
    Effect
    This addition supplies values to individual parameters or selection criteria for the selection screen. Parameters are supplied with single values and selection criteria with selection tables that overwrite values already specified in the program accessed. The selection table to be transferred is compiled from all the expr_syntax additions that address the same selection criterion sel. You can specify the following statements for expr_syntax, where you have to specify the name of a parameter or a selection criterion directly for sel:
    sel {EQ|NE|CP|NP|GT|GE|LT|LE} dobj [SIGN sign]
    Transfer of a single value.
    The operators before dobj correspond to the values specified for column OPTION for selection tables. For dobj, you must specify a data object whose data type can be converted to the data type of the selection screen component sel. For sign, you can specify a character-like field that must contain 'I' or 'E'. The standard value is 'I'.
    If sel is a selection criterion, the system appends a line in the selection table to be transferred, placing the operator in column OPTION, the content of dobj in column LOW, and the content of sign in column SIGN.
    If sel is a parameter, it is set to the value of dobj in the program accessed. The operator and the value of sign are not taken into account.
    sel [NOT] BETWEEN dobj1 AND dobj2 [SIGN sign]
    Transfer of an interval.
    In this case, sel must be a selection criterion. For dobj, you must specify data objects whose data type can be converted to that of the columns LOW and HIGH for the selection criterion sel. For sign, you can specify a character-like field that must contain 'I' or 'E'. The standard value is 'I'.
    A line is appended in the selection table to be transferred. If NOT is specified, the value 'NB' is placed in column OPTION; otherwise, the value entered is 'BT'. The content of the data objects dobj and sign is placed in the columns LOW, HIGH, and SIGN.
    sel IN rtab
    Transfer of a ranges table.
    In this case, sel must be a selection criterion. For rtab, you must specify an internal table that has the same structure as the selection table for selection criterion sel. A table of this type can be created using the addition RANGE OF to the statements TYPES and DATA.
    The lines in table rtab are appended to the selection table to be transferred.
    You can specify the addition expr_syntax more than once, and you can also specify the same selection screen component more than once.
    Notes:
    = or INCL can also be used instead of the operator EQ.
    When entering values, you must ensure that these have the internal format of the ABAP values, and not the output format of the screen display.
    Example
    The program report1 has a stand-alone selection screen with the screen number 1100. In the program report2, an internal table with row type RSPARAMS and a ranges table are filled for this selection screen. These are transferred at SUBMIT together with a single condition.
    Program accessed
    REPORT report1.
    DATA text TYPE c LENGTH 10.
    SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 1100.
      SELECT-OPTIONS: selcrit1 FOR text,
                      selcrit2 FOR text.
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF SCREEN 1100.
    Calling program
    REPORT report2.
    DATA: text       TYPE c LENGTH 10,
          rspar_tab  TYPE TABLE OF rsparams,
          rspar_line LIKE LINE OF rspar_tab,
          range_tab  LIKE RANGE OF text,
          range_line LIKE LINE OF range_tab.
    rspar_line-selname = 'SELCRIT1'.
    rspar_line-kind    = 'S'.
    rspar_line-sign    = 'I'.
    rspar_line-option  = 'EQ'.
    rspar_line-low     = 'ABAP'.
    APPEND rspar_line TO rspar_tab.
    range_line-sign   = 'E'.
    range_line-option = 'EQ'.
    range_line-low    = 'H'.
    APPEND range_line TO range_tab.
    range_line-sign   = 'E'.
    range_line-option = 'EQ'.
    range_line-low    = 'K'.
    APPEND range_line TO range_tab.
    SUBMIT report1 USING SELECTION-SCREEN '1100'
                   WITH SELECTION-TABLE rspar_tab
                   WITH selcrit2 BETWEEN 'H' AND 'K'
                   WITH selcrit2 IN range_tab
                   AND RETURN.
    Result
    After report1 has been accessed by report2, the selection tables for the selection criteria selcrit1 and selcrit2 in the program accessed contain the following entries:
      SIGN OPTION LOW HIGH
    selcrit1 I EQ ABAP
    selcrit2 I BT H K
    selcrit2 E EQ H
    selcrit2 E EQ K
    Addition 5
    ... WITH FREE SELECTIONS texpr
    Effect
    This addition supplies values to the dynamic selections for the selection screen for a logical database. The program accessed must be linked to a logical database that supports dynamic selections. texpr must be an internal table of the type RSDS_TEXPR from type group RSDS.
    In texpr, the selections for the dynamic selections are specified in an internal format (Reverse Polish Notation). You can use function modules FREE_SELECTIONS_INIT, FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG, and FREE_SELECTIONS_RANGE_2_EX from the function group SSEL to fill texpr in the calling program. While the first two function modules execute a user dialog, you can transfer ranges tables to FREE_SELECTIONS_RANGE_2_EX for each node in the dynamic selection in an internal table of the type RSDS_TRANGE. These are then converted to a table of the row type RSDS_TEXPR. If the calling program contains a selection screen with the same dynamic selections, you can transfer its content beforehand to a table of the type RSDS_TRANGE using the function module RS_REFRESH_FROM_DYNAMICAL_SEL.
    The lines in the internal table type RSDS_TRANGE contain a flat component TABLENAME for each node and a table-like component FRANGE_T of the type RSDS_FRANGE_T for the fields in the node. The lines in RSDS_FRANGE_T contain a flat component FIELDNAME for each field and a table-like component SELOPT_T of the row type RSDSSELOPT from the ABAP Dictionary. RSDSSELOPT contains the four components SIGN, OPTION, LOW, and HIGH and can include the ranges table.
    Example
    Program report1 is linked to the logical database F1S, which supports dynamic selections for the node SPFLI. Program report2 enters conditions in a nested internal table of the type rsds_trange with selection conditions for field CONNID in node SPFLI; this is then converted to a table of the type rsds_texpr, which is transferred at SUBMIT.

    SUBMIT report1 VIA SELECTION-SCREEN
                   WITH FREE SELECTIONS texpr.
    SUBMIT - selscreen_options
    Syntax
    ... [USING SELECTION-SCREEN dynnr]
        [VIA SELECTION-SCREEN]
        [selscreen_parameters] ... .
    Extras:
    1. ... USING SELECTION-SCREEN dynnr
    2. ... VIA SELECTION-SCREEN
    Effect
    The addition USING SELECTION-SCREEN specifies the selection screen, VIA SELECTION-SCREEN specifies whether it is displayed. The additions selscreen_parameters provide values for the parameters, selection criteria, and the free selection of the called selection screen.
    The values are transferred to the selection screen between the events INITIALIZATION and AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT The following hierarchy applies for transferring values:
    First, the variant of the addition USING SELECTION-SET is transferred, which sets all parameters and selection criteria to the values of the variant. The values previously set in the called program are overwritten.
    The values of the table of the addition WITH SELECTION-TABLE are then transferred. All parameters and selection criteria specified there are overwritten accordingly.
    Finally, the values of the additions WITH sel value are transferred. All parameters and selection criteria are overwritten accordingly. If the addition WITH sel value is used more than once for the same parameter, this is overwritten with the last specified value. If the addition WITH sel value is used more than once for the same selection criterion, a selection table with the corresponding number of lines is transferred.
    Providing values for free selections is independent of this hierarchy.
    Notes
    The options for parameter transfer enable a selection screen to be viewed as a parameter interface of an executable program. This applies particularly for background selection screen processing and for parameters and selection criteria that are defined without screen elements using the addition NO-DISPLAY
    When transferring data, note that any adjustments made to the screen format, such as abbreviations or the execution of conversion routines, are not executed for fields for which there are no screen elements on the selection screen. This applies for all parameters and selection criteria defined with NO DISPLAY. It also applies for all lines of a selection table with the exception of the first line.
    The additions selscreen_parameters only work the first time the called program is executed. If a selection screen is displayed in the called program, the runtime environment calls the program again after it is finished, thereby replacing the values specified in selscreen_parameters with the previous input values.
    Addition 1
    ... USING SELECTION-SCREEN dynnr
    Effect
    This addition specifies which selection screen is called. dynnr is a data object that must contain the screen number of a selection screen defined in the called program when the SUBMIT statement is called.
    If the addition USING SELECTION-SCREEN is omitted or the screen number 1000 is entered, the standard selection screen is called. If no standard selection screen is defined in the called program, no selection screen is called.
    If a screen number that is not 1000 is entered in the addition USING SELECTION-SCREEN, the corresponding independent selection screen is called. If no selection screen with this screen number is defined in the called program, this leads to an untreatable exception.
    Addition 2
    ... VIA SELECTION-SCREEN
    Effect
    If this addition is specified, the selection screen is displayed on the screen. Otherwise, background selection screen processing takes place. In background selection screen processing, the selection screen events are triggered without the selection screen being displayed.

  • Unable to pass the parameter to other portlet

    Hi,
    I am trying to pass the parameter from one portlet to other portlet using the convention below...
    Example say you have two reports on a page dept and employee. You want to refresh employee report by clicking on
    the dept in the department report in the same page.
    (1) Create the first report based on the query
    SELECT htf.anchor('http://domain/servlet/page?&_pageid=97&_dad=portal_dad&_schema=portal_schema&_mode=3&dept_code='||DEPTNO,DEPTNO) Department,
    dname FROM scott.dept;
    (2) Create a 2nd report
    select * from EMP where DEPTNO = :dept_code
    (3) In the the additional pl/sql code section before display page on the 2nd report do this
    portal30.wwv_name_value.replace_value(
    l_arg_names, l_arg_values,
    p_reference_path||'.dept_code',portal30.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(nvl(get_value('dept_code'),10)));
    (4) Created a page and added these reports as portlets.
    In point (4) I am not getting the value of selected deptno in 'dept_code'. It is always taking the default value as '10'...
    I like to have the quick solution for this so that I can show the demo to my client...
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Ali,
    We can add parameterized queries to any TableAdapter (and controls to accept parameter values and execute the query) using the
    Search Criteria Builder Dialog Box.
    For detail information, please refer to the following article to create a Windows Form to Search Data:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hbsty6z7.aspx
    In addition, this issue is more related to Windows Form. I would suggest open a new thread in Windows Form forum if you have any more qestions:

  • How to pass date parameter from one page to other in BSP application

    Hello gurus,
    In my BSP application i have taken an input field and made its type "date" and its value also of type date and have set showhelp .
    Now once a particular date is given as an input i want to pass its value to next page. And in next page i have to fire a query based on the date entered in previous page...
    Now my prb is that my date value is not getting passed to the next page.
    I have used
    navigation->set_parameter( name = 'BEGDA' value = BEGDA ).
    to pass date parameter.....still parameter is not getting passed.
    plz help me with this.....
    thankx.....

    Hi Eddy,
    By truncation i mean the entire date becomes 10 char including the ' . ' eg(06.12.2006).
    so with begda being 8chars it takes my date as 06.12.200
    as a result my query is not getting executed.
    now i have tried to use a FM  'CONVERT_DATE_TO_INTERN_FORMAT'.
    in my 1st page but still in 2nd page its giving me following error.
    <b>The data that was read could not be written to the specified target field during a SELECT access. Either the conversion is not supported for the type of the target field, or the target field is too short to accept the value, or the data is not in the appropriateformat for the target field.
    </b>

  • How to pass the parameter of a stored procedure to iReport

    Hi... i don't know how to pass the parameter of the stored procedure to the iReport.
    In the Report Query, i tried
    1. sp_storedprocedure ' value'
    2. sp_storedprocedure +''''+$P{parameter}+''''+
    3. sp_storedprocedure +$V+$P{parameter}++$F($F is a variable having a value of ' (a single quote))may you enlighten us please? thank you

    For M$ SQL server I find that it only works when U use the fully qualified name...
    e.g. catalod.dbo.my_procedure_name 'variable'
    My full query in the Report Query window is something like this:
    EXEC arc.dbo.jasper_Invoice 1000
    Note that you may find that selecting from VIEWS / TABLES fails for no apparent reason and iReport will prompt you with the usual very unhelpful (we have what we "pay" for) prompt, stating that "The document is empty".
    To work around this issue, where a statement like "SELECT * FROM arc.dbo.acc_invoices WHERE Invoice_id=1000" does not work, simply create a PROC, something like:
    CREATE PROC jasper_MyProc (@my_rec_id integer) AS
    SELECT * FROM arc.dbo.acc_invoices WHERE Invoice_id= @my_rec_id integer
    ...to wrap your SELECT statement, then call the PROC

  • Passing one parameter to multiple views

    Is this possible?  I would like to pass one parameter, a date field, to multiple views.  I cannot use it in the record selection, because my views do a mathematical computation which returns a single value, but I only want to select the data for a single day.
    The problem is that there are several views and I do not want to have to enter the date parameter a dozen times.

    Try to use add command and write the query like this
    select * from view where datefield={?date}
    also create another add command for the other view
    select * from view2 where datefield2={?date}
    for all the queries create the same parameter with the name {?date}
