Passing keyStore to weblogic-maven-plugin (WLS 12.1.3) via command line

Hello
I currently try to pass a keyStore (or trustStore) to the weblogic-maven-plugin
The WLS 12.1.3 server uses a self-signed certificate. I imported it into cacerts (within the JRE). This way I can use the plugin to deploy an ear file (over t3s:).
What I want to do is allow Jenkins CI servers to do the same. But using the default cacaerts included in the JRE fails (SSLHAndshake). And none of the -D parameters for the keystore seem to be picked up by the weblogic-maven-plugin?
(like "-Djavax.net.ssl.keyStore=...")
Is there a way to let the plugin know what keyStore it should use?
I also tried using the properties-maven-plugin to set these system properties. But it seems the weblogic-maven-plugin runs in its own world...
Any hints would be great!
Thanks!

I am in the process of converting from ant to maven, but I am having a problem with the weblogic-maven-plugin. Has anyone used this plugin successfully? Here is the error I am receiving even though I have a dependency on the xbean.jar in my pom, and it is in my local repo.

  • How do I remove Lotus Notes PDFMaker plugin via command line?

How do I remove the lotus notes PDFMaker plugin via command line?  I originally deployed Adobe Acrobat 10 as a complete install to many computers.  I see how to remove this specific feature through the GUI in Windows 7 by going to control panel / programs and features / Adobe Acrobat X / change / modify / create adobe PDF / acrobat PDFMaker / Lotus Notes, but this would be a tedious task to do manually at each computer.  I've experimented with a few msiexec commands after removing Acrobat such as:
    msiexec /i "\\path to msi" remove=pdfmakerforlotusnotes
    msiexec /i "\\path to msi" disable_pdfmaker=yes
Both still install acrobat as a complete install.  Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Thank you Sabian, that did the trick.  Here is the command line I used for anyone else having a similar issue:
    msiexec /i "\\path to msi" REMOVE=PDFMakerForLotusNotes /qn
I did this on a test machine with a complete Acrobat installed.  I ran the above command and it removed the Lotus Notes PDFMaker plugin.  I should also note that it didn't downgrade my version of Acrobat and all of my custom settings within the application are still there.

  • Weblogic Maven Plugin 12c

I am running into a problem deploying an app from a Windows host to a Linux WLS using wls-maven-plugin. The goal wls:deploy is failing because the server is attempting to stage it to a directory path using Windows file separator: "\opt\oracle\..." rather than "/opt/oracle/..."
Can anyone suggest how to get around this? is there a config flag to force the destination path?
    Thanks.

It works for me, i'm using wls 10.3.3. You need to download 10.3.4 inorder to build the plugin you can just download, it works fine with 10.3.3....

  • Passing parameters via command line

I've been asked to write a routine in LabVIEW that will control an
instrument. The only problem is that this routine will be called by a
different piece of software (3rd party software that we've bought)and
we need to pass a parameter. The source application will allow
switches in the command line, but that is the only way. Is there a way
    Labview can accept this ??

    Hi,
I'll mail you a vi to do this. Note that it will only work if you have an
application. (If not, you'll get the command line from labview...)
    Regards,
    Wiebe.

  • Firefox keeps prompting users to disable java plugins How can reinable them through the command line or registry?

Windows users keep getting prompted about java version being insecure and are advised to disable the plugin. They then complain that java based websites no longer work. Can I disable / prevent this warning feature. And can I re-enable java plugin via command line or script? I need to do this on a large scale and various versions of firefox. Right now I will need to abandon firefox if I cannot easily resolve this. Yes I realize updating to latest version of java is a solution... but this will take too much time now and how long before another security fix for java and then I will have to update yet again.

Tylerdowner, to say that Firefox 3.6 is no longer supported is not an answer. Apparently, the so-called block deployed for the Mac OS X version of Firefox, created to deal with a vulnerability in Oracle's Java, has now crept into the Windows version. Moreover, it is blocking the latest version of Java, which was not intended according to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=741592. The official text of the block follows:
Java Plugin has been blocked for your protection.
    Why was it blocked?
Outdated versions of the Java plugin are vulnerable to an actively exploited security issue. All Mac OS X users are strongly encouraged to update their Java plugin through Software Update, or disable it if no alternatives are available. For more information, please read our blog post or Oracle's Advisory.
    Who is affected?
All Firefox users who have installed the Java plugin, JRE versions below 1.6.0_31 or between 1.7.0 and 1.7.0_2.
    What does this mean?
Users are strongly encouraged to disable the problematic add-on or plugin, but may choose to continue using it if they accept the risks described.
When Mozilla becomes aware of add-ons, plugins, or other third-party software that seriously compromises Firefox security, stability, or performance and meets certain criteria, the software may be blocked from general use. For more information, please read this support article.
Well, whoever wrote the code to block the Java plug-ins specified above screwed up, since it is blocking even the updated Java plug-in.
I have an enterprise with many computers, and we had deployed Firefox as our browsing platform. Based on the latest decisions at Mozilla, new version numbering, forced release cycle, and almost all add-on vendors just walking away from the maintainence nightmare created by this decision, I guess it's time to move over to the Dark Side and adopt Google Chrome.

  • How to configure wls-maven-plugin for support remote actions ?

    hi,
    currently I installed weblogic 12.1.1.0 .
also using wls-maven-plugin for deployment .
    in documentation specified that
middlewareHome ,weblogicHome ,domainHome has defaults values .
so when you are not set them explicitly plugin use defaults values

whats happened if I want to do remote deployment meaning packaging my artifacts in machine A and deploy it to a server on target machine B .
    some limitations
    1. I cant use share folder between A and B
    2. Installation location on B is not on the default path - "D:\weblogic\wlserver_12.1"
how plugin should know those require values on machine B , where the execution of the maven goal take place on machine A?
does any body knows if the plugin support this case of remote deployment or does this plugin support only local deployment ?
what is the best way to do remote action like start-server , stop-server, deploy , undeploy with weblogic app-server
    Thanks

  • Deploy maven artifact using the wls-maven-plugin (12.1.1.0)

I am trying to use the wls maven plugin to deploy an artifact located in my local repository.
According to the documentation ( http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24329_01/web.1211/e24368/maven.htm#autoId6 ) this can be done by specifying the maven coordinates in the source parameter. Again according to the doc it should be specified as groupId:artifactID:packaging:classifier:version.
I tried this but as was not working I decompiled the wls-maven-plugin jar where I first of all discoverd that what should be passed is groupId:artifactID:version instead of the full one.
The next problem is the regular expression used to detect this:
if (this.source.matches("\\S:\\S:\\S")) {As you can see this will only detect one character long groupID, artifactID and version (obviously this has never been tested ...).
Can the source code of this plugin be found somewhere so I can fix it myself, can oracle fix this quickly, ... what are my options here?
    Thanks

My first question regards step number 2...
    2. Extract the contents of the supplemental zip (eg: extract into /home/myhome/mywls )
wls12120 directory will be automatically created during extraction.
The file name is wls12120_dev_supplemental.zip .
When I put this file in the mywls directory and Extract All ( using Windows Explorer, if that matters ),
    the directory created is actually named " wls12120_dev_supplemental " and it has 1 sub-directory named " wls12120 ".
So, is there something wrong with Step 2's text ?
Is there something wrong with how I interpreted Step 2's text ?
Is the actual directory and sub-directory I see being created the successful response / result ?  Or did this step fail ?

  • WebLogic proxy plugin: getPooledConn: No more connections in the pool

    Hi,
We have weblogic proxy plugin installed in Sun One web server. but frequently we are getting following errors in proxy log:
    <1670612410085901> attempt #0 out of a max of 5
    <1670612410085901> Trying a pooled connection for '<IP>/<port>/<port>'

Can anybody please tell how this proxy plugin manages connection pools? I don't find any minimum / maximum number of conection to mention anywhere or how exactly it works?

Try increasing the "AcceptBackLog" settings on the weblogic server and then verify for any changed behavior.
Raise the Accept Backlog value from the default by 25 percent. Continue increasing the value by 25 percent until the messages cease to appear.

  • IP address lost in Weblogic proxy plugin

              Hi,
We have 4 web servers that forward requests for jsps to 10 weblogic instances
working in a cluster. The web servers have IPlanet with weblogic proxy plugin.
One of the jsps has logic to retrieve the client's IP address and then return
the name of the country to which the IP address belongs. But since the jsp always
receives requests from one of the 4 web servers on the same LAN, it gets only
the internal IP address of the web server and returns no country code. To retrieve
the IP address of the caller in the jsp, I'm using
              ipAddress = request.getRemoteAddr();
How can I make my jsp know the actual source IP address of the client (i.e the
              end user)?
              Any help would be appreciated.

  • Configuring Apache HTTP Server with Oracle Weblogic Server plugin

    Hello friends,
I have a scenario of OIM 9.1.0.2 on Oracle Application Server 11g and Weblogic Server Apache HTTP Server.
Oracle WebLogic Server is configured in cluster (node1 and node2), also use the Oracle Weblogic Server plugin for integration with Apache.
One of the tests is to lose one of the nodes for the apache plugin redirects the node that has less overhead.
When the mode is node1 and node2 stop start mode and try to access the management console of Oracle Identity Manager, the plugin sometimes redirects to the other active node, and on another occasion shows the oracle management console identity manager without the colors of the basic look and feel.
Deputy of the Apache HTTP Server log, do you expect your comments to solve this case?

"One of the tests is to lose one of the nodes for the apache plugin redirects the node that has less overhead."
Note that the plug-in does a round robin load balancing, for example, in the case of three server (1,2,3) it does 1-2-3-1-2-3-1...
with server 3 going down it does 1-2-1-2-1...

"the plugin sometimes redirects to the other active node"
This is somewhat strange, do you have session binding turned off?
"and on another occasion shows the oracle management console identity manager without the colors of the basic look and feel."
This could happen due to mime types (not really sure just a hunch). Here is a general story on this concept: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Properly_Configuring_Server_MIME_Types

  • Error invoking WebService in Eclipse with WebLogic 12c plugin

I am using Eclipse Indigo with WebLogic 12c plugin to create a standalone WebService Client which invokes a simple WebService. The WebService is protected by Security Policies Wssp1.2-2007-Wss1.0-X509-Basic256.xml and Wssp1.2-SignBody.xml.
I get the following exception when I run the standalone client:
h2. Exception in thread "main" java.util.ServiceConfigurationError: javax.xml.ws.spi.Provider: Provider weblogic.wsee.jaxws.spi.WLSProvider could not be instantiated: java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
The same program works fine using JDeveloper 11g but not in Eclipse Indigo or in Juno. Has anyone faced this issue?
    Thanks,
    Madhav

The stand-alone client JAR file does not, however, support invoking Web services that use the following advanced features:
    Web services reliable SOAP messaging
    Message-level security (WS-Security)
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/web.1111/e13760/client.htm#i229632
Can you try running by adding weblogic.jar. but if you run the client inside the wls Server it should work.

  • Weblogic proxy plugin closes keep-alive connections to clients randomly

In short we have following arhitecture:
    clients ---> wl proxy plugin 1 ----> weblogic 1
    clients ---> wl proxy plugin 2 ----> weblogic 2
Beacuse of the application/installation specific requirements, we are not using failover, one wl proxy always forwards requests to one weblogic (simple configuration).
Application is TR-069 protocol based (SOAP over HTTP) so it very much relays on persistence TCP connections (Connection: keep-alive). This TCP persistence has to work correctly in order that TR-069 messages are exchanged in required order, otherwise we have a error on application layer.
Here and there we've noticed applications errors which suggest that we have some problems in TCP connection between the client and the weblogic server. After sniffing, we've noticed that weblogic proxy plugin (Apache) randomly, or because of some other reason we do not know, decides to close TCP connection to client, even app on weblogic did not request so ???
As a result, client opens new connection to the server with new TR-069 session and it gets bounced beacuse it allready has one open on weblogic server.
We've sniffed, traced everything we could, we were searching for patterns in time, etc... but we can not find the reason why proxy plugin decides to close the connection to the client (not to the weblogic server).
    Trace (replaced sensitive information):

Why weblogic proxy plugin ignores Keep-alive directive and decides to close connection to the client by itself?
    Any help?

If a WebLogic Server instance listed in either the WebLogicCluster parameter or a dynamic cluster list returned from WebLogic Server fails, the failed server is marked as "bad" and the plug-in attempts to connect to the next server in the list.
MaxSkipTime sets the amount of time after which the plug-in will retry the server marked as "bad." The plug-in attempts to connect to a new server in the list each time a unique request is received (that is, a request without a cookie).
Note: The MaxSkips parameter has been deprecated as the MaxSkipTime parameter.

You said the problem arises under significant load. Maybe, it is wise to tune the number file descriptor's on your operating system. HTTP connections are nothing more than TCP sockets on the operating system. All modern operating systems treat sockets as a specialized form of file access and use data structures called file descriptors to track open sockets and files for an operating system process. To control resource usage for processes on the machine, the operating system restricts the number of open file descriptors per process. You should be aware that all TCP connections that have been gracefully closed by an application will go into what is known as the TIME_WAIT state before being discarded by the operating system.
On most unix systems you can use netstat -a | grep TIME_WAIT | wc -l to detemine the number of socket in time_wait state. You have to check with your system adminstrator how to tune the tcp_time_wait_interval. On solaris you can use: /usr/sbin/ndd -set /dev/tcp tcp_time_wait_interval 60000

  • What about parameter weblogic.PosixSocketReaders in WLS 8.1

    Hi,
I would want to know what is the effect of the parameter weblogic.PosixSocketReaders in wls 8.1?
The only doc i can read on this subject is http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/perform/appb_tunetips.html and concerne wls 7.
Which is the effect if I put this parameter at value 1 (with wls81 and native i/o)?
    Thanks.

    CASE_ID_NUM: 642649
PosixSocketReaders and how they work in WLS:
WLS utilizes native code to perform socket handling, called the performance pack. Native code polls sockets on the OS layer if a new socket and data has to be processed, if a socket contains data that WLS is supposed to process it is picked up by Java threads from the WLS SocketReader thread queue. The SocketReader Java threads have the task of passing the socket and the contained raw message to an execute thread performing the application specific processing.
The flow of a socket and data from the OS to WLS is as follows:
OS TCP/IP Socket --> WLS native code (performance pack) polls for sockets --> Java SocketReader thread -- dispatch --> WLS Java execute thread (e.g. execute thread from default WLS execute queue)
The number of SocketReader threads is per default set to 3 on Unix environments, this is generally a good default value. In some case and specific OS environments experience has shown that tuning the number of SocketReader threads is beneficial to get the maximum performance from WLS in dispatching a socket from the native layer to a WLS execute thread.
The reason why tuning the SocketReaders can have an positive effect is based on two main factors:
    1. SocketReader threads have many Java synchronization blocks as they are working very concurrently on the native code layer. 2. A big number of sockets being opened to WLS
In case the JVM and/or OS is not very good in handling synchronization locks point 1. is the limiting performance factor of Socketreaders as the JVM and OS are more busy handling Java synchronization locks than doing the actual dispatch work. For such a scenario experience with other customers has shown that using PosixSocketReaders=1 is beneficial
On the other side if the JVM and OS handle synchronization locks very well it can be beneficial to increase the number of PosixSocketReaders threads and thus allow WLS to dispatch more socket data from the native layer to a WLS execute thread in parallel.
As the performance of PosixSocketReaders very much depends on the OS / JVM and if the system/application is heavily socket/network related a good value for PosixSocketReaders has to be identified based on test runs. Generally the default value of 3 PosixSocketReaders is good for most applications and environments.

  • Weblogic Apache Plugins -Put/Delete Method

    Hi ,
I need to find out if the weblogic plugin Apache supports the use of http PUT and DELETE operations (instead of GET and POST) and if so I need an example plugin configuration where the clients are using the "PUT" and "DELETE" operations. And, again assuming the plugin supports PUT and DELETE, are there any known issues with there use in conjunction with the plugin.

    Hi ,
Here is the details about the HTTP Put/Delete Protocol :-
    Supported :-
HTTP Put and Delete Protocol is supported in Weblogic and Weblogic Apache Plugin .
In Apache also these protocols are supported .
    Configuration :-
If you want to configure it older version of Apache we have to use the (WebDav) of the apache .But you don't have do anything for newer version
as this module should be there and we have to do only configuration for Apache for this module .
Configuration of WebDab is here in newer version of Apache:-
    http://www.serverwatch.com/tutorials/article.php/2176771/Enabling-WebDAV-on-Apache.htm
We don't have to do anything on Weblogic and Apache Weblogic Plugin side .As by default they support these protocols.
    Usage :-
I tested this in my environment by sending a Put request to Weblogic Plugin using the Tool called "Fiddler".
I sent a request to Weblogic Plugin using this tool and it works . Even i checked on the Apache plugin log files also that it works.
There is good note from apache how to use the Put/Delete function in Apache .
Please follow this link for usage for Put/Delete for Apache for uploading files to server . How this make life easy .
    http://www.apacheweek.com/features/put
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1051004/how-to-send-put-delete-http-request-in-httpurlconnection
    Security Risk :-
Please keep in mind that there is security risk when we use this protocol which is clearly explain in the note when we use this in the example above.
Here is a nice article also which explains the security concerns of Put :-
    https://www.golemtechnologies.com/articles/http-put-security
    Tested hitting localhost/console
Edited the request header GET /console/login/LoginForm.jsp HTTP/1.1 to PUT /console/login/LoginForm.jsp HTTP/1.1
Got the following in the apache log file
    ================New Request: [PUT /console/ HTTP/1.1] =================
