Passing multiple parameter to SSIS package via data manager

Hi
We are trying to pass parameters from data manager to SSIS package. We are trying to give option of selecting members from Dimension using SelectInput while modifying script.
But we are not able to catch the values in SSIS package.
Code in Data manager package:
(ON)
(SELECTINPUT,%VER%,,"Select Account",%ACCOUNT_DIM%)
(Execute sp_ver_copy,SqlStatementSource,exec dbo.sp_ver_copy2 '%VER%')
We also tried with writing GLOBAL(VER,%VER%) instead of -- (Execute sp_ver_copy,SqlStatementSource,exec dbo.sp_ver_copy2 '%VER%')
But that also dosent work.
We need to use the parameters passed, in SQL code that we have written in OLE DB source, under data flow task.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Thanks Roberto for reply.
Please find the screenprint as per your suggestion. Also I have mentioned the code in above question. We are using the stored procedure to write the value into a table , passed from front end. We are able to write the value passed from front end into a table. So it means that system is passing the value.
But when I try to bring same value into the data task flow , system is throwing a error. The description of error is also mentioned below.
Kindly advise.
Error Description in DM package:
Description = Executing the query "exec dbo.sp_ver_copy2 'Account'" failed with the following error: "An error occurred while extracting the result into a variable of type (DBTYPE_STR)". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.

    Hi Frank,
    You should close this parameters with single quotation. Try this -
    Select '<a href="javascript:popUp2('''
    || 'f?p=&APP_ID.:950:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::'
    || 'P950_TYPE,P950_CODE:'

  • Import Comments data and Dimension Members from csv file via Data Manager

    Dear Experts,
    I have two questions regarding the data manager.
    Q1.Is it possible to import "Comments" from the csv file via Data Manager?
    We'd like to import the amount with "Comments".
    My image of csv file is like below;
    ACCOUNT,CATEGORY,TIME,ENTITY,INPUTCURRENCY,AMOUNT,COMMENTS
    1100000,ACTUAL,2010/06,LC,30000,This is comment
    Q2.Is it possible to import the dimension "members" from the csv file via Data Manager?
    We have a user-defined dimension named "Project"
    and would like to import the members, instead of maintaining them in BPC administration manually.
    I found an online help information which says "Import Master Data from a Data File Example",
    but I could not find any relevant sample package for this.
    (I tried to import the members by using "Import" package, but it failed...)

    Hi Fumi,
    In this case, I would suggest you to create a customized SSIS package which will fill-in the "Comment<APP>" table, according to the csv file you have. I do not know any standard package that allows you to import comment the way you would like...

  • Error when Trying to Copy or Import Data via Data Manager

    Hello Experts,
    I was trying to do an Import using the package in Data Manager and i Got this error:
    [Admin-ProcessPartition]Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The attribute key cannot be found when processing: Table: 'dbo_tblFactAppname', Column: 'ACCOUNT', Value: '7061020702'. The attribute is 'AccountNom_ID1'
    Also, I tried to do some Optimize in the Application and then a Copy from a Package and I still got this error.
    Thanks for your help,
    Rodrigo

    Hi Rodrigo,
    For every application, BPC creates 3 tables in the SQL.
    1. FactWB<application> : writeback table - the data is stored whenever we send any data from the input schedules. This table is used for real term storage (the most current data sent to the system).
    2. Fact2<application> :  When we load data through DM packages, it gets stored in this table. Also called short term storage.
    3. Fact<application> : Main data storage. All data eventually resides over here. Also termed long term storage.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error trying to run SSIS Package via SQL Server Agent: DTExec: Could not set \Package.Variables[User::VarObjectDataSet].Properties[Value] value to System.Object

    Situation:
    SSIS Package designed in SQL Server 2012 - SQL Server Data Tools
    Windows 7 - 64 bit.
    The package (32 bit) extracts data from a SQL Server db to an Excel Output file, via an OLE DB connection.
    It uses 3 package variables:
    *) SQLCommand (String) to specify the SQL Statement to be executed by the package
    Property path: \Package.Variables[User::ExcelOutputFile].Properties[Value]
    Value: f:\Output Data.xls
    *) EXCELOutputFIle (String) to specify path and filename of the Excel output file
    Property path: \Package.Variables[User::SQLCommand].Properties[Value]
    Value: select * from CartOrder
    *) VarObjectDataSet (Object) to hold the data returned by SQL Server)
    Property path: \Package.Variables[User::VarObjectDataSet].Properties[Value]
    Value: System.Object
    It consists out of 2 components:
    *) Execute SQL Task: executes the SQL Statement passed on via a package variable. The resultng rows are stored in the package variable VarObjectDataSet
    *) Script Task: creates the physical output file and iterates VarObjectDataSet to populate the Excel file.
    Outcome and issue:The package runs perfectly fine both in SQL Server Data Tools itself and in DTEXECUI.
    However, whenever I run it via SQL Server Agent (with 32 bit runtime option set), it returns the errror message below.
    This package contains 3 package variables but the error stating that a package variable can not be set, pops up for the VarObjectDataSet only.  This makes me wonder if it is uberhaupt possible to set the value of a package variable
    of type Object.
    Can anybody help me on this please ?

    Hi Visakh,
    thank you for your reply.
    So, judging by your reply, not all package variables used inside a package need to be set a value for when run in DTEXEC ?
    I already tried that but my package ended up in error (something to do with "... invocation ...." and that error is anything but clearly documented. Judging by the error message itself, it looks like it could be just about anything. that is why I asked my
    first question about the object type package variable.
    Now, I will remove it from the 'set values' list and try another go cracking the unclear error-message " ... invocation ...". Does an error message about " ... invocation ..." ring any bells, now that we are talking about it here ?
    Thx in advance
    Jurgen
    Yes exactly
    You need to set values only forthem which needs to be controlled from outside the package
    Any variable which gets its value through expression set inside package or through a query inside execute sql task/script task can be ignored from DTExec
    Ok I've seen the invocation error mostly inside script task. This may be because some error inside script written in script task. If it appeared after you removed the variable then it may because some reference of variable existing within script task.

    I need to import a csv file to SQL server using SSIS.  The date column in excel is, for example, 7/8/2014, but it imports as 41828 in SQL Server.  How can I convert this?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
    According to your descrition, date column convert to string data type column when import data from a csv file to SQL Server table. While you want the column still stores as date data type in SQL Server table.
    In order to achieve this goal, there are several methods:
    Add a Derived Column Transformation before the OLE DB Destination. Then add a derived column  to replace the date column with the expression like bewlow to convert the column to date data type:
    (DT_DBDATE)column_name
    Add a Data Conversion Transformation before the OLE DB Destination.Then convert the date column to date[DT_DATE] data type. Use the new column as the destination column.
    In the OLE DB Destination Editor, we can change the data type from varchar(50) to date when create a table as the destination.
    If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Scheduled Packages in Data Manager run nearly immediately

    We're running SAP BPC 10 NW and EPM 10 SP16 on BW / SQL.
    When I try to schedule packages to run, they are running about a minute after the time I create the schedule, not one minute after the time I have scheduled the job to run.  In either case, they are not running as scheduled.  Does anyone have an idea of why the package is not waiting until the time I have scheduled the package to run?  The two packages I tested with are Light Optimize and Archive Data.

    For clarity, you have an SSIS package in production, in the DM file folders, that you are copying over to a file location in the TEST environment. Then you are adding the package via the DM interface.  The saving the view.  Then trying to execute the package?
    -If you edit the package via the DM interface, does everything look correct, regarding settings for the package?
    -Does the package have more SSIS tasks than just standard BPC tasks?  Do they need to be modified for the new servers.
    - WHat does the package do?  Is it supposed to run logic?  B/c it may need the logic statements to be validated and saved?

  • How to Pass Multiple Parameter to Discoverer Custom Folder Created in Admin

    Hi,
    I have done as describe in doc id (metalink) note 304192.1 and it's ok.
    Now, my scope is to use the parameter declared in SETPARAMS not with the "=" condition but with "IN CLAUSE" (multipe values).
    for example (SQL Inspector):
    SELECT i106116 as E106116,i106117 as E106117,SUM(i106118) as E106118_SUM
    FROM ( SELECT DS_COMMESSA AS i106116, DS_SCENARIO AS i106117, DS_VALUE AS i106118 FROM (select ds_commessa, ds_scenario, DS_VALUE
    from dw_ods.ods_mbo_commessa
    where DS_TIPO_COSTO='COSTI MEDI'
    and ds_label='DIR'
    and cd_scenario in (1,2)
    and ds_commessa IN DW_ODS.SETPARAM.GET_PARAM1
    union all
    select 'Totale' as ds_commessa, ds_scenario, sum(DS_VALUE)
    from dw_ods.ods_mbo_commessa
    where DS_TIPO_COSTO='COSTI MEDI'
    and ds_label='DIR'
    and cd_scenario in (1)
    and ds_commessa IN DW_ODS.SETPARAM.GET_PARAM1
    group by ds_scenario
    ) CUO106102 ) o106102
    WHERE (1 IN (DW_ODS.SETPARAM.SET_PARAM1(:"Commessa")))
    GROUP BY i106116, i106117;
    where the parameter "commessa" is used with "IN" operator.
    Also tried to modifiy the SET_PARAM1 and GET_PARAM1 in order to use a "table of varchar2" ... but with no succes.
    Help please

    Rod,
    for the first "problem" I find the solution on metalink (note 304192.1) and works fine (also combining SET and GET together)... otherwise I don't know how use this "workaround"...
    for the multiple values on a single parameter (for example: Month='Jan,'Feb') I have tried to understand how DISCO pass these values to the SET function (I suppose like an array of varchar2) but don't work. After the first values (Jan) the reports stop... The problem in not how stored the values but understan how DISCO "pass/manage" these values (Jan,Feb)... Can u help me?
    my actual SETPARAMS package body is (like metalink):
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY SETPARAM AS
    FUNCTION SET_PARAM1(P1 IN VARCHAR2) RETURN NUMBER IS
    BEGIN
    param1 := P1;
    return 1;
    END;
    FUNCTION GET_PARAM1 RETURN VARCHAR2 AS
    BEGIN
    return param1;
    END;
    FUNCTION SET_PARAM_MBO(p_anno IN VARCHAR2) RETURN NUMBER IS
    BEGIN
    anno := p_anno;
    return 1;
    END;
    FUNCTION GET_PARAM_MBO RETURN VARCHAR2 AS
    BEGIN
    return anno;
    END;
    END SETPARAM;

  • Passing a parameter to a package in APEX

    I'm totally new using APEX and I have the following problem:
    I have a form displaying record information (1 record) and I created a Submit button which call a Process that is a Package in the DB. Although the package runs, I need to send a parameter to it and that parameter comes from one field in the form.
    How can I do this?
    Second level (once I solve the previous one) I want to do a similar thing but instead using a form, I want to do it with a tabular form, hence the package should be called for every record in the form once the button is clicked.
    Thanks for the help.

    I would recommend one change to the above:
    :P1_ITEM3 := Test.testFunction(TO_NUMBER(:P1_ITEM1), TO_NUMBER(:P1_ITEM2));Everything in Apex is effectively a string at runtime. If you overload your PL/SQL program units such that you have the same function or procedure with the same # of arguments but different datatypes, this can get you in trouble.
    For example, I had something like MY_UTIL_PKG.GET_PART_RECORD overloaded. One version took an ID number which was the PK of the record and the other took in a part number (which was really a VARCHAR2) which was the unique index of the record. I got in trouble in Apex because IIRC when I passed in a number, it saw it at runtime as a string and tried to run the one that took in the part number (string) with me passing it the ID (number, but understood at runtime as a string) and this caused my function to fail at runtime.
    So anything you call PL/SQL from Apex and your input data is a number or date, use TO_NUMBER and TO_DATE explicitly is a good idea.

  • Passing a parameter to a function via an alias

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to pass a fixed value to a function from a alias?
    For example say you have a function which opens a web browser and that function accepts a parameter for the URL that you want the browser to load. You can then just call the function and pass the URL across. This will then load the browser with the specified
    URL.
    What I want to try and do is create an alias called openMS. This alias would call the function and pass the url microsoft.com across. I could then create multiple aliases for opening various pages and use just one function.
    I've had a bit of a search but can't seem to find anything so not sure if what I'm trying to do is possible.
    Thanks
    Peter

    You can't do that with an alias, but you can just write another function to accomplish that. The "help" and "mkdir" functions are examples of this technique in the built-in PowerShell commands. "help" pipes Get-Help to more,
    and "mkdir" calls New-Item with a hard-coded parameter of -Type Directory . You can see the code for each of those by typing $function:help and $function:mkdir .

  • Passing multiple parameter values to a detail report.  How?

    Help!
    I have a Summary report and a Detail report.
    Summary report has a parameter that may have multiple values (ie returning an array).
    I need to pass these values to the Detail report.
    Anybody has managed to do it?
    Thanks in advance...
    Inga

    Thank you for your reply Sunil...
    The problem is as follows:
    I have a report portlet that has a parameter with multiple values. Ie I would have two status values passed into this Summary report that shows, say total sum for those statuses. I have a link from this report to a detail report, and i need to pass both of these values into the detail report.
    I have tried adding a parameter (p_status_param) in the SQL query that would be a part of link by building it in "PL/SQL after header section" and doing the parameter replace.
    SQL query:
    select
    '<a href="./RTS.RPT_OPEN_CALLS_BY_ASSIGNEE_01.SHOW?p_arg_names=p_assigned_user_id&p_arg_values='||cr.assigned_user_id||''||:p_status_param||'''><font class=portletText1>'||s.user_name||'</font></a>' full_name,
      cr.assigned_user_id,
      count(*) total_calls
    from
      trts_call_request cr,
      trts_security s
    where
      cr.assigned_user_id = s.user_id
      and cr.current_status_id in :p_status
      and cr.assigned_user_id in :p_assigned_user_id)
    group by
      s.user_name,
      assigned_user_id
    PL/SQL:
    declare
        v_return    varchar2(32767) := '';
    begin
        for i in 1..l_arg_names.count loop
            if l_arg_names(i) = p_reference_path||'.p_status' then
                v_return := v_return || '&p_arg_names=p_status&p_arg_values='||l_arg_values(i);
            end if;
        end loop;
         myats30.wwv_name_value.replace_value(l_arg_names, l_arg_values, 'p_status_param',myats30.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(v_return) );
    htp.p(v_return);
    end;
    However, when you run the report, this is what you get (see what the parameter has been replaced with):
    ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis (WWV-11230)
    Failed to parse as RTS - select '<a href=./RTS.RPT_OPEN_CALLS_BY_ASSIGNEE_01.SHOW?p_arg_names=p_assigned_user_id&p_arg_values='||cr.assigned_user_id||''|| ( :zz21, :zz22, :zz23 ) _param||''"><font class=portletText1>'||s.user_name||'</font></a>' full_name, cr.assigned_user_id, count(*) total_calls from trts_call_request cr, trts_security s where cr.assigned_user_id = s.user_id and cr.current_status_id in ( :zz21, :zz22, :zz23 ) and cr.assigned_user_id in :p_assigned_user_id) group by s.user_name, assigned_user_id order by ASSIGNED_USER_ID ASC (WWV-08300)
    Any ideas how I could build this link programatically???
    Thank you...
