Hi hsawwan,
I am upgrading 11.5.8 to 11.5.10 CU2, done all prerequites steps, now I have to apply 3480000. i have downloaded all four patches
p3480000_11i_WINNT_1of4.zip

p3480000_11i_WINNT_3of4.zip
p3480000_11i_WINNT_4of4.zip
Should I have to unzip all files under one directory 3480000 and apply this patch or is there any other procedure.

    Hi
Q: I am applying patch can I open another session and run adadmin ? (Thanks to Amit Pancholia for pointing this out)
A: Yes & No (depends on stage of patching), you can run adadmin if FND_INSTALL_PROCESSES is NOT locked (in use) by adpatch session. If this table is in use by adpatch session then you can’t run adadmin at same time.

  • Patch 3480000 install - Failed worker because of GL locking

I am in the process of installing Patch 3480000 (11.5.10.2) and during the running workers fail on sql scripts under the GL schema. Checking the log they are failing because the account is locked(timed), however if I unlock it and run again it locks the account again.
All the other ones have been running as they should (I have had to reset a couple from EXPIRED(GRACE) to proceed however). Is the password saved incorrectly somewhere? If I change it does that hose things up for everything else or is there something else I can check for this?
(glxlatxd.sql & glqtposd.sql are the two failing if it matters)
    Thanks

If I drop the sequence and create it again with the higher values as they are trying to alter it to, I assume that would fix it however I also assume that it would mess up some number or something somewhere in the program which is of course bad.
I have continued to search metalink and the internet and can not find anything relating to oracle patches and that error or that error and oracle app sever in general.
I have logged an SR with Oracle but any advice that you (or anyone) have would be appreciated.
This is the more complete error text

    4337683 - Minipack 11i.AD.I.2
For patch 4337683 the note is following.
Note: The most recent replacement for this patch is 5161676. If you are downloading patchset 4337683 because it is a prerequisite for another patch or patchset, you should verify whether or not 5161676 is suitable as a substitute prerequisite before downloading it.
So I am preparing for patch 3480000 so can you tell me.
    Should I go for patch 4337683 before I apply 3480000 ?
    OR
    Should I go for patch 5161676 before I apply 3480000 ?
    Reg
    Chirag Patel

Any of the patches will do the job. Patch 5161676 is the most recent patch and it contains lots of new and changed features which do not exist in patch 4337683. So, even if you apply patch 4337683, the patch 3480000, you would still need to apply patch 5161676 later.
I suggest you save time and do the following:
    - Apply patch 5161676 - 11i AD.I.5
    - Apply patch 3480000 - 11.5.10.2 Maintenance Pack

  • 11.5.10.2 (patch 3480000) upgrade space & time needed?

I am currently working on an upgrade to 11.5.10.2 from 11.5.9 and I ran into a out of disk space issue. I have cleared up some, but I was wondering how much more is needed? The current unpacked directory for 3480000 is 18GB and I have a total of 8GB free now. I did read in the 11.5.10.2 install guide that 24GB is required but that is for a new install and does not reference this patch upgrade specifically. I know it backs up files during the patch, so the file size might be dependent of how much space you are using unless it only backs up specific files.
Also how much time does it require to run this patch? In looking for disk space requirements I have seen people reference 16 hour run times for this script, which is an issue since we remote in and the connection will time out if you don't focus on the window and move the mouse every ten minutes, otherwise you lose you connection and can't reconnect to the process that may or may not be running. (thus you can see the issue with something stopping in the middle).
    Thanks for the input.

I thought maybe someone would have had an experience doing it that might know. To free up more disk space will require a major amount of shuffling files around over a very slow connection which I wanted to avoid if I could, but I didn't want to start the setup again without some idea if I had enough before I wait an hour just to find out I needed more.
This is a single server/single node setup. I am currently doing this in DEV and going through the process taking notes etc in order to reduce the downtime on PROD when I do the upgrade there. I will read the document you referenced. Thanks for your input.

    Hi,
but "AD_PARALLEL_UPDATES_PKG" package and body is VALID.You are right, the error posted above has nothing to do with the package status.
I think table is not missing which is used in above package.Did you get the table name from the script and verify that it exists? You would get this error if the table name or the table owner is missing.
Did you check adpatch/database log files for any errors?
    Regards,
    Hussein

  • Patch Application in 11i - 11.5.10.2

    Hi All,
I have a sinle box 11i installation in RHEL Release 4.
I have not applied any patched till now.
if i tried to compile a custom built form in the application using f60gen, it is showing compilation errors as well as the following class APPSTAND is not able to find message also showing.
When i try to run the form it is displaying with some controls missing in it like text box, grid etc.
When i looked into the issue i found that this is due to the missing patch 4172558
As there is no application of the patch happened, how can i start with i found that the following patches are to be applied as the pre requisites
3480000 ORACLE APPLICATIONS RELEASE 11.5.10.2 MAINTENANCE PACK Maintenance Pack
    4337683 - Minipack 11i.AD.I.2
    and
4712852 Applications DBA 11i.AD.I.4 Mini Pack
Is this the right way to start with..
    Please suggest..
    Many thanks in advance...

You do not have to apply patch 3480000 (11.5.10.2 maintenance pack) or any other patch just to resolve an issue with compiling a CUSTOM form.
The form does not run successfully since you encountered some errors during the form compilation. Plus you mentioned that it is a custom form, so for sure you missed something.
Make sure you copy all pll files from $AU_TOP/resource as well as APPSTAND.fmb & TEMPLATE.fmb to your local machine and set FORMS60_PATH properly before compiling the customized form. Please refer to notes: 177610.1, 236803.1 for more details
