Pavilion 11 x2 HD graphics

Have a 2 month old Pavilion 11 x2 notebook
F4T45EA#ABU  11-h003
Came with Win 8 , upgraded to 8.1
Now can't adjust screen brightness
Device manager reports Microsoft basic display adapter and not Intel Hd adapter.
Tried to install Intel HD display adapter form HP support website for exact part number.
Result is "computer does not meet minimum requirements" so fails to correctly install.
Anyone found a solution?    (win 8.1 64bit)

Hi @Phil58,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that after upgrading to Windows 8.1 you are having a brightness issue with your HP Pavilion 11-h003sa x2 PC. I will try my best to help you with this issue.
I suggest you refresh your computer to Windows 8, make sure to back up your files. You can follow the steps in this document  Refresh Your PC to Resolve Problems (Windows 8), and then update ALL important Windows updates, create a restore point and then re-update to Windows 8.1 following the steps in this document for Updating Windows 8 to 8.1.
I hope this information helps, please let me know how it goes.
Best of luck and have a great day!

    Hi s0ulLesS
    Here's the product specs: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=uk&lc=en&docname=c03220956
Here is the link to service manual of your product: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03099448.pdf
You can go through Page 4 Chapter 1 of service manual. As far as your graphics chip is concerned, your current Intel HD 3000 GPU is integrated into your Motherboard and as such, is not an upgradeable component.
Although Models similar to yours come with a 'Dedicated Graphics Card', the 'Card' is still soldered to the Motherboard and can't be changed.
    Hope this resolves your concern.

  • Pavilion dm3 AMD switchable graphics (HD4000&HD5000) in Windows 10 Technical Preview

Basically it is a continuation of my previous topic:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/Pavilion-dm3-AMD-switchable-graphics-HD4000-...
Users of HP laptops with switchable graphics HD4000/HD5000 will face the same problem after upgrade to Windows 10.
The earlier we'll start to discuss and find the solution for this sort of laptops the higher chance that we will be able to use our laptops in Windows 10.
I use Windows 10 Technical Preview now and I try to find the correct driver for my laptop.

Hello there mate got g510 iam on windows 10 insider preview build 10159 and it runs smooth! about the driver thingy i found it the most easy to do beyond all the other devices out there  all u have to do is downlaod and install the last build from here : https://mega.nz/#!hUc2SSDI!9VRPiak8tS90rKbbVEEA0MCn5QbI8YgWRA_gCkFmcrY make sure to clean install it by 8gb at least flash driver and u are good to go ps: upgrading from older builds can make crashes and black screens after the amd driver installed so just make clean install for ur own good after u are done u can check for windows updates and it will take the intel and amd drivers that supports the wddm 2.0 plus the conexant audio and bluetooth ,Elan touchpad ,  the last stable ones comes with the updates and trust me its the most stable ones ive used so far the remaining unknown device and the pci is for the power manager and the intel imanagement engine u can use windows 8.1 x64 drivers for those sorry for the bad english tho xD

I am not using my graphic card.

Hi: The only suggestion I can offer would be to try manually installing the windows 7 graphics driver from your notebook's support and driver page. If that doesn't work then there is no solution that I know of. Here is a post from another forum member with the same gpu and I tried helping him to no avail. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/problem-with-HDMI/m-p/5162972#M302151 He did not reply back to let me know if the W7 driver worked or not.

    Hi @arkas
Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you are having some graphic problems. Did you install that ATI driver from the AMD website? If so that is the problem. You have switchable graphics meaning that you have two video cards. The Intel card is designed for your everyday basic graphics processing while the ATI card is designed to handle the heavy lifting. Switchable graphics drivers are configured by the manufacturer of the notebook not the manufacturer of the graphics card.
I would suggest that you install your AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver and your Intel High-Definition Graphics Driver. If you are looking for more information on switchable graphics this HP document Switchable Graphics on Notebooks Configured with Intel and ATI GPUs.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC graphics card issues

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC (Product number: QG704EA#B1A) with an AMD radeon HD 6700M graphics card. Most of my games crash, im always given a graphical error, i experience freezes, lagging and general overheating. This only happens when playing games.
I have done every update Intel, radeon and hp offers and nothing works including bios updates. All my research tells me its just a bad compatibility with the graphics card. Can that really be true? Have i wasted over a thousand euro on just bad hardware??
My warrenty expired already, i had no idea this could happen with a laptop.

  • HP Pavilion G4 1003-TX Graphic Card Problem

Hello... I have HP pavilion G4 1003TX laptop which cureently having graphic card problem. Technician at my place said that's caused by the solder connection on my Radeon graphic card.  He said it can be repaired, but the same problem will happen again soon unless i replaced my graphic card with new one.
In my laptop, i have Radeon and Intel graphic card which i can switch freely. My question is, if i change from my Radeon to my Intel graphic card, is my graphic card problem solved? Is my laptop still will not last long unless i buy new graphic card?
Please help me if you know the answer. Thanks

So my laptop will not start after i turned it on. The technician said it because some solder connection on the graphic card so it need to be resoldered. He warn me that the same problem will happen again soon since it's sign that my VGA card will dead. After he resoldered, my laptop can work normally for 3 months. Now, after 3 months, my laptop  can't start again just like before. The technician said it because of solder connection of my VGA card again.
So, since my laptop has Intel and Radeon VGA card that i can switch, is switching my VGA card form Radeon to Intel will solve my Radeon VGA card dead problem? Will my laptop can work normally if i switch my VGA card to Intel?

    Hi:
First you have to install the Intel HD graphics driver first, reboot and then install the nvidia graphics driver.

I would like to play some of the newer games on the market but the graphics card seems to be holding me back. Hi,
No, you can't, the "Intel HD Graphics 3000" is soldered to the otherboard. Actually we can't change video card on nearly all laptops.

  • My dear laptop has perished (graphically speaking) help pls:

I own a HP Pavilion hdx9494nr and my graphics card has apparently stopped working all together, is this something I can replace myself and if so is it something I can upgrade?  My warranty was up a few months back so I'm not concerned with voiding anything,  ty for any assistance in advance.

Good advice for almost all laptops, but not yours. That bad boy has a removable nVidia graphics card. It is HP Part No.
454311-001. I do not believe it is upgradeable because it is not a fully standard MXM card but it can be replaced. There is also a replacement heatsink for the video card and while you are at it, you might want to replace it, too.
    Here is the Manual.
    Manual
The Manual has a full parts list and instructions on disassembly. You can go through HP Partsurfer or just google the parts numbers and you will find vendors. I looked for a minute and could not find a specific price, but do not expect it to be cheap.

  • Problem updating graphic card

    Hi,
I need to update my graphics card (Intel 945G). Intel didn't have a driver available on its website, however, and HP doesn't seem to have an update either.
I have an HP Pavilion a6244n. The graphics card is about 31/2 years old. My operating system is Windows Vista 32-bit.
Not sure if I need to get a completely new card. I'd certainly prefer not to have to do that.
Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!

Thanks for responding! Yeah, I did try that but got the following message:
"A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer."
Also tried the HP site, but no luck. Maybe I just need a new graphics card.

  • Catalyst Control Center: Persistent Issues

    Hello,
I am running an HP Pavilion dv7 with AMD graphics (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650). After installing Windows 8.1 I have been experiencing problems. Whenever I try to run the Catalyst Control Center application, I get an error message:
"Catalyst Pro Control Center cannot be started. There are currently no settings that can be configured using Catalyst Pro Control Center."
This issue seems well documented online, and I have spent the past few days going over every reported work around I could find, including uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and software directly from the manufacturer's website, without alleviating
the issue in the slightest. My best guess is that I have to hack a .inf file somewhere, but I have no idea how I am supposed to do this.
    Please help.

    Hi,
As far as I know, this is ATI graphic card driver compatibility problem, because your Graphic card is too old, its driver for Widnows 8.1 had some compatibility problem. You can try to install the latest beta edition for test.
In addition you can contact ATI to identify this problem.
