PC Dialer for CME

Hi,
We ha ve internaly developped an application in JTAPI to control phone connected to Call Unified Manager.
We'd like to port this application to CME but it seems JTAPI is not supported on CME.
One solution is to use TAPI but library are not for Java.
Is there another way on CME to control a phone via PC ?
The purpose is to transmit/receive call and lookup the corporate/customer directory for name association.
Thanks for your answer

If you'd just look for a way to dial.. there's always CiscoIPPhoneExecute with a Dial uri. However, for events I'm afraid you have no choice but to use the CME TSP.
Perhaps ATAPI.NET will help.. writing something in C# when you know Java is considerably easier than having to resort to a native language. I have ATAPI.NET working for basic tasks on a CCM but I've never tried with a CME (and I'd do anything in my power to push for a CCM replacement rather than deal with the CME).

Number of speed dials varies by IP phone model. User-configured speed dial and call forward through Web access

  • Palm TX as a dialer for LG VX8360 cellphone ?

I'm unable to use Palm TX as a dialer for the LG VX8360 cell phone (via Bluetooth).
I can exchange contacts, appointments and pictures between Palm TX and LG VX8360 though.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

The problem is not settings - there has to be a dedicated driver installed for LG phones.
I have not heard of any success with LG phones as of yet.

  • Speed/fast dial in CME 3.4

    Hello,
i have configured a speed dial and fast dial in cme 3.4 but didn't work !!
please any idea about this ?
    Thank in advance.

    Did you reset the ephone?
The speed dial will assigned to next available line button, if they are all used then it won't be assigned. Fast dial can be invoked from Directory menu on the phone.

  • Direct Outward Dial on CME 3.1

I am at a complete loss. Cisco want 800 USD to help me.
I need to setup Direct Outward Dial on my CME 3.1 (3725). I need to have one of my two POTS lines show up on the telephones mapped to a button.
I have searched for quite a while, and tried most everything I can think of. I have failed.
    Any help is appreciated!

It is not clear to me what you are trying to accomplish, but it sounds like a scenerio I deploy on a regular basis.
If you want to force a particular DN to use a specific analog fxo line for outbound calls, simply create a translation pattern and apply it to the ephone-dn. Basically, you will be prepending a '1#' to the dialed phone number and have a specific dial-peer matching 1# using the fxo voice port as a destination. For example:
    translation-rule 1
    Rule 0 ^.* 1#
    translation-rule 2
    Rule 0 ^.* 2#
    dial-peer voice 100 pots
    destination-pattern 1#0
    port 1/0/0
    forward-digits 1
    dial-peer voice 101 pots
    destination-pattern 1#1..........
    port 1/0/0
    forward-digits 11
    dial-peer voice 102 pots
    destination-pattern 1#[2-9]......
    port 1/0/0
    forward-digits 7
    dial-peer voice 103 pots
    destination-pattern 1#[4,9]11
    port 1/0/0
    forward-digits 3
    dial-peer voice 200 pots
    destination-pattern 2#0
    port 1/0/1
    forward-digits 1
    dial-peer voice 201 pots
    destination-pattern 2#1..........
    fax rate disable
    port 1/0/1
    forward-digits 11
    dial-peer voice 202 pots
    destination-pattern 2#[2-9]......
    port 1/0/1
    forward-digits 7
    dial-peer voice 203 pots
    destination-pattern 2#[4,9]11
    port 1/0/1
    forward-digits 3
    ephone-dn 1
    number 1001
    label Line 1
    description 555-1212
    name Line 1
    call-forward busy 7000
    call-forward noan 7000 timeout 15
    translate called 1
    hold-alert 120 idle
    ephone-dn 2
    number 1002
    label Line 2
    description 555-1213
    name Line 2
    call-forward busy 7000
    call-forward noan 7000 timeout 15
    translate called 2
    hold-alert 120 shared
In addition, when you do this you usually want to do the same in reverse: a specific fxo port to ring a specific line when an inbound call comes in, you do this with the connection plar-opx command on the fxo voice port, for example:
    voice-port 1/0/0
    input gain 10
    no comfort-noise
    connection plar opx 1001
    caller-id enable type 1
    voice-port 1/0/1
    input gain 10
    no comfort-noise
    connection plar opx 1002
    caller-id enable type 1
Let me know if I'm on the right track...

  • Introducing broadcast hunt-group service for CME

    Hello,
Due to popular demand I wrote this script for the purpose of ringing simultaneously more than one ephone without using shared lines. Like the broadcast hunt-group available for SIP phones, or in CCM.
    http://pbevila.fastmail.fm/public/bcast.tcl
I haven't tested it completely, currently it works only when all the destinations are SCCP phones, although the objective is to allow mix and match of SCCP phones, SIP phones, pots DPs, etc.
Please try it and send any feedback here.

    HI Paolo
I'm attempting to take advantage of your broadcast script you have produced. I'm having a few problems not getting the calls to broadcast. At the moment I'm just playing around with it on a standalone CME with 4 stand 7941 phones. I have used the following config and also shown the output:
    application
    service bcast flash:bcast.tcl
    Jan 4 10:45:47.139: //-1//HIFS:/hifs_ifs_cb: hifs ifs file read succeeded. size=5571, url=flash:bcast.tcl
    Jan 4 10:45:47.139: //-1//HIFS:/hifs_free_idata: hifs_free_idata: 0x457E9518
    Jan 4 10:45:47.139: //-1//HIFS:/hifs_hold_idata: hifs_hold_idata: 0x457E9518
    param destinations 201,202
Warning: parameter destinations has not been registered under bcast namespace
    I have then used:
    dial-peer voice 100 pots
    description broadcast hunt-group
    service bcast
    incoming called-number 555
    failing call flow:
    7941(1) - > 555 -> CME-> Broadcast (phone2,Phone3)
When I try to dial 555 from one of the phones it just comes up with number unknown and fails to broadcast. I am also running with cme 3.3 but can upgrade if needed. Also I have no analogue lines just pure VOIP at the moment. I think its some thing to do with the dial-peer?

  • Speed Dial with CME

    Hello guys,
In server based CallManager, users can go to the "servername/ccmuser address and setup their own seepdials. Is there any way that we can offer this service through CME 3.3?
    Thanks

    Thanks Sankar,
The only issue is that the CUE user page has access to the same features that an admin has and I don't want that.
I have a 7940, how many speedial can I configure for this phone? In the documentation it says up to 24 speedials. My question is where is it going to show all those 24 speedials? Would it be on the screen? or under Directory buton, Local Speed Dial?
And my last question is what is the difference between speed dial and fast dial?
Thank you for taking the time and responding,

is this needs a license or not
if yes, please provide me how to orser it and what is its part number
    thank you very much

If you are going to use Jabber, that counts like a regular SIP Phone, just like 7945, or 99XX phones, you don't need an additional  license:

  • Alphabetical dial for name on company phone directory

I use à BB 8130 (Pearl) and when I need to reach someone's extention by dialing alphabetically is name in the company phone directory... I alway gets somebody else extention!!! have you ever get this issue to?
Now I understand why... And you'll see it's simple. When a cie directory ask you to dial the name of the person to reach, the system have some kind of cross reference of the Alpha keys of the normal phone system. By example, if you try to reach John Smith and the system ask you to dial in by the last name after the #, you'll certainly dial #7648 (S.M.I.T) right?
But on the BB8130 the keys are:
    7 = C or V
    6 =J or K

It's much much simpler. Honestly, you are thinking about it too hard.
While on the call, just press and hold the ALT key,  while spelling the name. The BlackBerry will translate the correct numbers.
For instance, you dial in the company, and you want John Smith. You press the ALT key on your BB device and TYPE S M I T H and release the ALT key.
    Same with dialing a vanity phone number, like 1 800 FLOWERS. You dial 1 8 0 0 (press ALT) F L O W E R S

  • E52: speed-dial for account balance

My Service-Provider (blau.de) sends me my account balance if I call the *100#. I've done a link to speed-dial button 9.  After pressing the button 9, I get a short message that an SMS with the account balance information will be send to me. So far, so good. If I close this informational display the quick access keys do not appear. I get only a monochrome background. Neither my background image nor my quick access configuration are to be seen. Pressing the hang up key does not help. I have to press any number on the keyboard and then the hang up key. After that procedure my usual background appears again (image and quick access). If I call the *100# from contact menu everything is fine. It seems that an overlaying windows is not going to be closed by using the speed dial key. This is for me clearly a software (firmware) bug and very annoying. Formerly I used a E51 without such behavior. I updated to the newest firmware (which was a disaster) and the problem still remains.
Some statements to the firmware update. What the hell is this? I need a whole day to do this successfully. And believe me, I'm a computer scientist and I know what I'm doing. Neither NSU 2.5.4 nor Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1.0.87 are working as firmware updater on Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit! Windows 7 uses Windows Media Player 12 and his mtp driver seems to be incompatible with the E52 as with many other Nokia devices. I tried Windows Vista 32 bit without success. No mtp support for my Nokia. How can this be? The only thing that worked was Windows XP with Windows Media Player 10. Believe me, we have year 2010! It is impossible to do the firmware upgrade with Windows XP in a virtual machine due to some USB reconnections. I had install a new Windows XP native on a hdd, for a simple firmware upgrade. I think this can't be true, especially when the bug still remains. When will Nokia reaches the present?
So hope you understand my frustration and try to evaluate this bug. Please don't say: go to your dealer. He can't help this is a firmware bug. My actual firmware version is 013.012. If you want I can send you a video of this behavior.

    Hello,
I had posted about this error in September itself when i bought the phone. Even after two firmware updates this is not solved.
Also i had detailed a list of bugs and posted. Even after this update, nothing has been rectified. I dont know what only Nokia is putting in 150MB.
People first want thier phones to function correctly instead of Internet radio and such stuff.
    I no longer use nokia.

  • Can't find Agent Desktop for CME

    Hello
I know it sounds ridiculous but I can't find the Desktop Agent for a CME and CCX integration. Let me explain a bit more.
The scenario is quite simple: one CME on a 2911 that must be integrated with a CCX 8.5. I have successfully setup the CME and CCX (at least I supose) but now the only problem I have is to find the Agent Desktop. I have installed several CCX but always integrated with Callmanager withoit Express. On every occasion, on the plugins menu there were 3 links to download Administrator, Supervisor and Agent Desktops. But in this case there are only 2 links: one for Administrator and one for Supervisor/Agent. Obviously I tried installing the msi file that you download when click the Supervisor/agent link but only the Supervisor is installed.
I'm sure it must be a silly question but I'm blocked with that issue. Any help?
    DAni

The most likely cause of this is that you are running UCCX Standard, which does not come with CAD.
You'll want to read the data sheet for UCCX to familiarize yourself with the feaatures offered between versions, deployments, and licensing.
Also, with UCCX/CME, CAD does not do Phone Control.  E.g., You cannot answer the phone from within CAD.

  • Opening a dialer for other computers to connect

    Hello all!
I'm connected to the internet using a cable , with username and pass login.
Sometimes I have some friends coming over for studying purposes, and the need for wifi arises.
I've heard there's a way to open up a "dialer" or something of that sort, that imitates the use of a WiFi, and other people could connect to the internet as well, while my computer runs this sort of dialer on the background..
How is it possible? I tried googling with no success . I'm running Snow Leopard.
    Thanks in advance!

  • 1750/1751-V GW support for CME

I've got a 1750 that has been upgraded with a PVDM. I want to upgrade the router to 128M DRAM and 32M FLASH in order to run CME, as shown here:
    http://cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps4625/prod_installation_guide09186a00805f5908.html
It says to upgrade the 1750 to 128/32 in order to support CME. However, the following documentation on the 1750 shows it can only support 48MB DRAM and 16MB FLASH:
    http://cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps221/products_data_sheet09186a0080092102.html
Can I actually upgrade it to 128/32 or not?

the maximum DRAM for a 1750 is 48mb as described in the link below:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps221/products_data_sheet09186a0080092102.html
you would need a 1751-V, of the 1700 series, to support CME.
(or a 1760/1760-V; as described in the first link you provided in your post)
