Pcsuite problem connecting to the phone using blue...

Hi,
I'm having this intermittent problem, with my pcsuite not connecting to the phone.
Most of the time it connects without any problem, but every now and then, I see the PC Suite tray icon with an X (phone unavailable).
In those cases, when I open PC Suite, it only allows me the "Click here to connect a phone", with the drop list empty.
When I scan for phones, it does find mine (ready to use), and continues to the "Connection setup complete" box, with an empty list of connections available...
Note, in some of these cases (e.g.. now - while writing this message), I am connected (bluetooth) through the phone to the internet, so it's not that the phone is unreachable bluetooth-wise...
Details:
Windows XP SP3
PC Suite v7.1.40.6
Connection method: bluetooth
Phone model: E72
Thanks,
Ilan

Log out and in or reboot the PC. First start PC Suite and then connect the E72.

  • Help connecting an LG phone using Blue Tooth to Macbook

    Hello
I am having trouble connect ing my LG phone to my Macbook using Blue Tooth. I am using discover mode on booth devices, i get asked about the code number machine on each device, but on the macbook it says that there is a problem with my Audio Device and that I need to disconnect the headset,,I dont have one connected. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. thnx

I can get them paired but when I select the lg device listed on my HTC phone it does nothing.  I want to connect them so I can transfer the pictures from my old device to my new device.
    Hi Cheryllb,
Thanks B33, as you are correct that this cannot be done via Bluetooth transfer. There are, however, ways that Cheryllb can get this done. Cheryllb, do you have a memory card in your LG Voyager? If so, you can save the pictures to the memory card (just go through your pictures, highlight them, press Menu, then move to card or "external memory" is how it may be displayed). Then, you can remove the card from the Voyager and either use it in your new device, or transfer the pictures using a card reader and put them on your PC.
To transfer Picture Messages from wireless device to PC:
    1.        Access photo from "My Pictures" and choose "Options."
    2.        Select  "Move" or  "Transfer."
    3.        Remove memory card and insert card and card reader in USB port.
    4.        Go to your file directory on the PC.
    5.        Transfer files to the folder of your choice.
If you do not have a memory card, you are able to connect your Voyager to a USB Cable and transfer the pictures from the device to the PC. Once that is done, they will be in a file. You can then hook up your new phone to the PC with it's USB cable and put the pictures on the new phone, by dragging and dropping that folder into the folder for your new device.
I hope this information is helpful and allows you to find a resolution to transfer your pictures from phone to phone. I do understand how important these pictures can be.
Thanks very much and have a great day!

  • Having problems connecting to the internet using Comcast ISP. Help!!

My access is intermittent and Comcast has not been able to help me solve the problem.  After researching, I've found that earlier versions of Mac OS have had similar issues.  Need help to resolve the issue please!!  Whenever the instant goes out, the number in the subnet mask changes to some generic number.  Any thoughts?

I also had issues with Comcast several years ago, what fixed the issue was changing the DNS settings. If you aren't familiar with DNS ( I would be a little  surprised if you were) then read MacWorlds DNS Troubleshooting article and then:
    1. System preferences
    2. Network
    3. Click Advanced
    4. Click DNS tab
    5. Click + sign
    6. Add 208.67.222.222
    7. Click + sign
    8. Add 208.67.220.220
    9. Click OK.
    10. Exit System Preferences
    11. Try out your iMac and report what happened.

Sounds more like you have a problem with your apple id. For starters go to that page click manage my apple id and singn in. If you can't sign in reset password.
    https://appleid.apple.com
if you can sign in there, try to sign in to itunes on your computer.

Welcome to the Apple community Kobra.
Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone.

  • HT1414 iTunes won't let me connect to the phone while it is locked without a password, i.e. I can't use the restore function. What next?

How do I unlock an iPhone that has had an invalid password entered too many times?
Apples' dbase says to do a restone from iTunes, but iTunes won't connect to the phone while it's locked without a password

Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both home and power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. This usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Restore the firmware.

  • Nokia6670 - (COULD NOT CONNECT TO THE PHONE) PROBL...

I have nokia 6670. I am using latest version of PC suite version 6.70.22.Bluetooth device is bluesol .WindowsXP SP2.
my problem is that when i connect to phone using blue tooth, the pc suite connects for 2, 3 minutes and i can only download images from my phone. Messages and contacts are not accessable. After three minutes, i receive the error
(could not connect to the phone). whereas it is shown in get connected window
(nokia6670 connected via blue tooth) . when i use repair option in pcsuite, the same thing happens again. I get connected for 2, 3 minutes and can download images only. Then i get the same error, could not connect to the phone.
i place phone just next to my computer and there is no out of range issue.
I am using xp with sp2 installed and updated regularly.
When I use microsoft bluetooth i can onley receive the images.
here is a screen shot of the error.

just see, phone is visible in pcsuite but when i click on it using file manager, i get the error (could not connect to the phone)
Another thing is that even i switch off my 6670, it is still shown in pc suite as as connected..
I have also tried the nokia pcsuite cleaner but no use.
I have un installed blue sol 1.6 software since with that microsoft bluetooth doesnt work. In other words, all options are tried.

Yep - anti-virus and firewall software can interfere with the installation of software.
A general suggestion, specially when any kind of connectivity is involved, would be to disconnect from the Internet and disable any anti-virus and firewall software for the duration of the installation. This way you know that it won't interfere with the software you're wanting to install.
Glad you managed to sort the issue out yourself though, well done! :-)

  • "There was a problem connecting to the server" in iTunes after migrating to new mac

I have a problem that is driving me crazy with my brand new iMac. I see many other people posting similar issues, but none of the other solutions seem to work for me.
I had a MacPro and bought a new iMac, on which I used Migration Assistant to set up. So the new iMac is virtually the same as my old machine in terms of appearance and installed applications. Both machines have Mountain Lion 10.8.2. All software on both machines has been through Software Update and is fully up to date, as are the connected devices (iPhone and iPad).
The problem is with iTunes. Every time I start iTunes (I think at the moment it checks my two connected devices) I get a pop up dialogue saying:
There was a problem connecting to the server "MacPro".
The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again.
This dialogue continues to pop up constantly as long as iTunes is open, interrupting my work and frustrating me no end. The old machine is of course turned off and indeed is not available -- but I can't find what on the new iMac is so desperate to connect to it.
So far I have tried completing erasing my iTunes library, deleting all the preferences, reinstalling iTunes from a fresh download of the dmg, safe rebooting several times with no peripherals connected at all, and deleteing other preferences like the Login Items, iPhone config and iPhoto. I have also cleared Recent Items from the apple menu and opened "Connect to Server" in the finder and cleared all servers from the dropdown menu.
Last night I also completely restored my iPhone from scratch to see if that would clear away the issue and I have connected both iPhone and iPad to go through any apps that have permission to write content to my computer and deleted all of them completely from the devices.
Nothing has changed at all after all that, and I have run out of ideas. Clearly there is something somewhere that has my old machine's name hard coded in it but I can't see any way to search for it. I would grep my Library folder but I think a lot of the files are binary so I'm not sure that would unearth anything. I've seen many posts saying that Apple phone support (which I would qualify for) can't help with this issue and so I have put off phoning them to simply run through all the things I've already tried.
Any advice that anyone could offer would be extremely helpful. I can't use iTunes at all like this as it disrupts everything I try to do on the new machine.
    many thanks!!

Nothing at all? Can't anyone help with this issue at all? I would be grateful for any suggstions as it is driving me crazy. It happens every time I open iTunes and also every time I open Mail.

  • Error message: a problem connecting to the server "DriveMap"

I recently uninstalled GoDaddy’s software Workspace, used to manage online storage which I no longer need. Every time I restart my computer, and worse, every time I update an app, put something in the trash, or empty the trash, I get the error message “There was a problem connecting to the server "DriveMap". Workspace (DriveMap) is no longer on my computer; I used GoDaddy’s Workspace uninstaller to remove it. Then I reinstalled and uninstalled again because I was getting that message. I then did a search of my computer for all files with “Starfield” in the title, which is the developer of WorkSpace. I found about a dozen files and deleted them. I’m still getting the message, and GoDaddy support is absolutely useless. I got this reply from them (their 15th reply about this problem).
It appears that your computer is configured to open a drive, which is occurring during start up.  You will need to edit your computer's drives or start up commands and delete the command that is causing this to occur.  This would not be a file that from Workspace that is causing the issue.  It appears that your local system is still trying a program that no longer exists on the system.  We suggest researching support documentation related to your local system to remove the DriveMap.
It has to be a file from Workspace, it seems to me, or a system file that has been altered by Workspace. This didn’t happen before I installed Workspace. It started happening out of the blue... hadn’t added any files to online storage or accessed my online file folder for a month or more, and this event began occurring, at times rendering my computer unusable; that message pops up as fast as I can dismiss it, many many times... Intercepts all key strokes.
I’ve looked at my account’s startup items; nothing there. And iMacHardDisk/Library/Startupitems has only a backup program in it.
Has anyone had this problem and found a fix?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Copy or drag — do not type — the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.) You can omit the final line ending in “$”.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfix|x)/{print $3}'
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|edu\.mit|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null
Important: If you formerly synchronized with a MobileMe account, your me.com email address may appear in the output of the above command. If so, anonymize it before posting.
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' 2> /dev/null
Remember, steps 1-5 are all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.

  • Error - Cannot connect to the phone

    Hi all,
have had a dig around and couldn't find anything so I hoping that someone can sort me out here.
Ok I have my phone connected to the pc via bluetooth. PC Suite picks up the phone but when I click on the Contacts or Messages (or anything in that window) it comes up with an error message saying "Cannot connect to the phone"
I have checked the list of supported bluetooth stacks and it should be fine. I have also check the phones compatability and this should also be supported. I can also communicate with the phone through the bluetooth software itself.
    Phone: Nokia 6233
    Bluetooth: ITV Bluesoleil 5.0.5
    OS: Windows Vista
Error: Cannot connect to the phone
If you need anymore info or can help me with this problem in anyway, please drop us a line.

    Exactly same problem.
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2
    Phone: Nokia 6300
    PC Suite version: 6.85.14.1
BlueSoleil Version: 1.6.1.4 (which should be the version supported by latest PC Suite software version as per Nokia web site).
    Bluetooth USB Adapter: Billionton USBBTC1A-B
I can pair the phone with my PC and transfer files using the BlueSoleil software directly, but every time I try to use anything in the Nokia PC Suite (after pairing and authorizing the phone in PC Suite), I get the "Could not connect to the phone" error.
When using "Help --> About Nokia PC Suite... --> Show System Info" function:

Why the only Bluetooth stack detected is the Microsoft one? Why is BlueSoleil stack not detected?
How do I use Microsoft Bluetooth stack (at least to see if my Bluetooth USB Adapter works with it)??
Is this problem going to be solved soon? Is there something I can do without the PC Suite apart from transfering files? I can't edit contacts (save changes) with PC Suite even when the .vcf files are in my PC. Is this intended?
    Thanks.

Can you send SMS by using the mobile data network instead of Wi-Fi? I had the same problem setting up my 5s from a backup of my 4s. Only after I sent an SMS via mobile data network, somehow iMessage and FaceTime got activated a couple of minutes later without me doing anything else.
I even changed my Apple ID password, because at one point I could not log into my account when iMessage asked for my account details.

Hi friends, I have a Nokia N72 mobile and am using PC suite 6.81.13.0. My problem is that I can't see the folders within my phone memory or memory card using nokia phone browser. As soon as it shows connected, I click on file manager and the error appears. Although it shows Nokia N72 connected I get a message that says "Could not connect to the phone" even though it is definitely connected. Windows explorer eventually opens and although Nokia N72 is visible no folders/files below this are. Only the synchronization option is working fine. This problem is same both with data cable and bluetooth dongle. I have also installed the latest version of nokia pc suite but of no use.
