PDF creation with jsPDF

Hello,
Has someone use jsPDF ( http://parall.ax/products/jspdf ) to create pdf from animate?
I have project where can select images and want the user to create a pdf file for printing with his configurations.
If someone has another suggestion, welcome.

Hi Deepak,
                 Before starting the code just like that,make sure u have configured all services in Visual Administrator.

  • Setup reports for pdf creation with company logo and printing without

    Hi,
    we want to have 2 different report-layouts.
    The first one is just for printing on company paper. So it doesn't need a logo.
    The second one is for exporting to PDF file. So it needs a logo.
    How can I realise it in SAP BO 2007 without changing the standard layout everytime?

    Meike,
    If sending out pdf's vs printed doc's depends on BP or user, you can play with setting up the default layout for specific users or BP's, otherwise you need to change the default one all the time.

    Nat

  • PDF creation with subscripts yields terrible results

    I have a document with several chemical formulae and when I create a pdf, the quality is absolutely terrible.
    Is there a fix for this, or am I doing something incorrectly?

    I have to apply all the substitutions manually to create the non-fake subscripts?
    The idea in the Unicode and TrueType project is that you keep your plain text plain. If you keep your plain text plain, content-based operations like searching, spell-cheching and sorting are not corrupted, no matter how complex the composition is. In other words, you insert a firewall between your character codes (the content) and your glyph codes (the appearance).
    Now, this won't work if you do not have a graphical desktop display and a graphic deskside printer. In other words, it won't work in the world of the nineteen-eighties. Fortunately, this is not the world in which we are working. Separate processing of character codes and glyph codes was first discussed at the WWDC in May 1989, and first demonstrated it at WWDC 1992 with Apple Hoefler Text, by the way. It has been in the OS since System 7.5 in August 1994.
    So, you use the GUI. You use Unicode / ISO-IEC 10646 as the space within which you code your text. And you use the simple glyph substitution of base TrueType and the smart glyph substitution and smart glyph shaping of advanced TrueType to get the appearance you want. Or in other words, you use Unicode to match the meaning and TrueType to match the mark.
    With a document window open and the cursor in the column, you specify the style for simple glyph shaping by selecting any TrueType/OpenType font. Inside the font there is an obligatory table, the CMAP Character Map. This table defines the character codes that the font is able to image, and the default glyph codes with which those character codes are imaged in that specific font.
    With your Typography Palette open, you can see if the font only has obligatory Character Map shaping to default appearances, in which case it says "No typographic features in this font," or there are substitutions for smart shaping and smart scaling. For instance, if you select Hoefler Text you will find that there are smart substitutions for superiors (superscripts) and inferiors (subscripts).
    If you want to see the glyph codes and corresponding glyph drawings in an intelligent font file, then you open the Apple Character Palette, from the View menu you select Glyph, from the Font menu you select the family name e.g. Hoefler Text, and from the style menu you select the family member. Take the time to move your cursor over the glyph drawings.
    In the co-ordinate system, e.g. click glyph code 801. You will see a popup that says GID 801, that is, glyph identifier 801. The glyph identifiers (glyph codes) are private to and specific to the font file. They are not cross-font. There is no corresponding character code! Is this a bug in the font? No, it is as designed, because you do not draw ligature long s, long s, and l as a character code.
    The font only draws default glyph codes by depicting them directly onto character codes. If the type designer wants alternate stylistic appearances for the default glyph codes and their glyph drawings, she uses the smart substitution support. The smart substitution support takes the output of the obligatory CMAP Character Map transform, which is default glyph codes, and remaps that to alternate glyph codes for alternate glyph design appearances.
    This means that the vast majority of glyph codes in a font file may be drawn by depiction onto other glyph codes and not onto character codes. For instance, try counting the number of glyph codes in Apple Hoefler Text or in Linotype Zapfino that are not directly depicted onto character codes. So, you can have perfect legibility at the level of appearance, and your character codes can be perfectly plant at the level of content. This has been possible since System 7.5 in 1994.
    What you cannot have today is searchable softcopy. Because the meaning of the glyph designs is in the indices of the intelligent font, and those indices are not supported at all in PostScript, and are not supported in PDF until versions higher than 1.3 which is the PDF version supported by OS X. These problems have existed for many, many years. PostScript does not support the intelligent separation model of the International Color Consortium, just as it does not support the intelligent composition model of the Unicode Consortium.

  • PDf creation with Acrobat 10 freezes my Win7-64b system

    Acrobat 10.1.3 reliably freezes (every day or so) my fully-patched Win7-64b system when creating pdf from MS Office 2003 or Word Perfect X5. Acrobat can be killed from TaskBar (often - be patient for the response) or via Task Manager (usually); sometimes it takes a hard reset. This thread (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/850202?start=0&tstart=0) shows the same topic; is there a solution?

    "Acrobat 10.1.3 reliably freezes (every day or so) my fully-patched Win7-64b"
    That's how I ended up here.  I just upgraded an accounting firm with new computers, i7, 8 GB, Windows 7 64 Ultimate, Office 2010 Small Business, and Acrobat 10 Standard.  More than once a day, when they go to print, Acrobat hangs. I have laptops there and elsewhere with i7, 8 GB, Windows 7 Professional 64b, Office 2010 Small Business, running Acrobat 9 Standard, and it has no problem.  Their previous machines with Core 2 duos, 1 GB, XP Pro, Office 2003 Small Business, and Acrobat 9 Standard, and had no problems.  The desktops and laptops are using different Anti-Virus programs.  That pretty much draws the circle around Acrobat 10 as being the source of the problem, on not something system or user specific.

  • Latvian Language support for generated PDF's with FPDF module for PHP

    Hello !
    I have a problem with Adobe Reader for Android. I am working with online PDF creation with PHP module named FPDF.
    With FPDF module for PHP you can create PDF's online.
    The problem is that - when generated PDF appears on phone it doesn't show Latvian language ( cp1257 or  ISO-8859-13 for example ). For example - "ŗķļņž" and "ŖĶĻŅŽ" is shown with other symbols.
    However opening the same file with standart app "Polaris Office" - the text is show as it used to be, without problem.
    Strange bug, that i can't fix from PHP ( Tried a lot of decodes and encodes ). Also i have saved PHP file with different encodings - nothing helped.

    You might ask about this in the regular forum. There are several form experts there that may be able to help you.

    and the second issue is:
    It is not recognizing the date format..it is recognizing the date in first row only......
    Plz Tell me wht is the solution for this...

  • How can I make a pdf book with "camera to pdf" option on phone? I can only convert one pic at a time

    How can I make a pdf book (single pdf file with several pages)  with "camera to pdf" option on phone? I can only convert one pic at a time. ( Or )how can I attach all those pictures converted pdf's into one pdf file which obviously results in to a single pdf file with several pages in it ?

    Adobe Reader on the iPhone is a PDF reading app. It's not a creation app.
    You need to get an app like Pages which is intended for page layout. It can place pictures from the phone and export PDF.

  • Can't Make PDF's with Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows XP Pro

    I just recently installed Acrobat 9 with the CS4 suite and can't make a PDF from either my scanner or MS Word. It says that my scanner can't do "Presets" and I don't see how I can change that. And Acrobat just tries for about ten minutes to make a PDF from a Word document and then says there's an error. I can't save to the Adobe PDF printer either.
    I'm about ready to reinstall Acrobat 6 so I can make PDF's - this is crazy. Is there a way that I can get Acrobat 9 to at least accept my scanner? It's an older HP 4-in-1 machine.

    Maybe you misunderstand. The standard output for the Adobe PDF printer it the PDF Port. That is indeed a print to a file (a PS file) and then Distiller is activated in the background to finish converting the file to a PDF. By print to file, I mean the print-to-file check box on the print screen. That will allow you to print to a PS file, though it may have an extension of PRN. You can then open that file in Distiller to complete the conversion. If that works, then your problem is likely that AcroTray is not running in the background.
    AcroTray must be active for normal printer operation. When it fails you should still be able to print-to-file and then open the file in the Distiller to complete the process. That was my point and I am not sure that is what you have done. If it is, then I apologize for beating the point to death. The print-to-file is not the same as the PDF creation.

  • Unable to open pdf created with Acrobat Pro using Adobe Reader X

    Files created with some Adobe Professional applications such as Acrobat Pro ensure the file is small by excluding font information from the file.  Simple pdf creation applications embed the font in the file, which makes for transportability between apps but does make the files big.
    The problem i have experienced is that Adobe Reader X is one of the simple app varieties, so is unable to open, print, or read files created using Adobe Acrobat Pro..
    i'd welcome any help in (a) finding a free app that opens these 'pro pdf' files, OR (b) an option setting in Acrobat Pro which includes the font information in the file - or both!

    There are so many things wrong, around a tiny grain of truth, it really isn't worth examining. Not at this stage if you are more interested in getting things working.  It may be worth asking you though, since Reader doesn't even launch for you, how you came to focus on font embedding being the cause.
    Ok, Reader doesn't launch. Suppose you start Reader FIRST. Then use File > Open on your PDF.

  • Word crashes mid PDF creation - Word 2003 Acrobat 9.3.0

    I have a new PC and a fresh clean install of CS5 Design Permuim, including Arobat 9. The organisation is still using Office 2003 and no upgrade path in sight for that. Myself and several colleagues with the same software profile are now experiencing frequent problems with Word crashing mid PDF creation.
    This has always been an issue with the ocassional Word file in Acrobat 8, but Distiller always worked as an alternative - NOT this time!
    PDF Maker gives no error message, just that Word has encounted a problem and needs to close.
    Distiller produces the following log message, then freezes completely. I then have to force quit Word to exit!
    %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
    %%[ Error: syntaxerror; OffendingCommand: --nostringval-- ]%%
    Stack:
    /mF_OTF_V
    %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
    %%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
    Not all documents are affected, but I can remove almost all of the content from the affected document and it still causes the error.
    I have tried repairing Acrobat - no change.
    One other odd symptom - after each crash, the default printer on the machine has changed to Adobe PDF.
    I can successfulkly make the PDF on another machine which has not been upgraded to Acrobat 9. The rest of the settings are identical on the two machines, they are both running a standard organisation environment, with the same verion of word etc.
    Can anyone suggest how to fix or at least isolate the cause of the problem?

    Please update to latest Acrobat 9 release which is 9.4.2.
    Also do let us know
    a) office 2003 flavour: Standard or professional?
    b) OS flavour? Also whether it is 32bit or 64bit?
    Also as you mentioned that "Not all documents are affected", so we would require any of your affected file to analyze the issue. Can you please share the file? You can use acrobat.com to share the file.
    Thanks,
    Vishal

  • PDF creation from ID - not outlining fonts correctly

    Hi all. I have a query regarding PDF creation from InDesign (so this could have been in the Acrobat section instead but went for this one).
    I work for a publisher using CS2+3 on PCs. We don't have one out of house printer as a rule but several. All have different requirements.
    Essentially we are converting fonts to curves from within InDesign when creating the PDFs. Therefore we have multiple files (curved and text) which is adding lots of time onto projects and adding a further margin for error with missing or out of date files. It seems this process is necessary as whenever I select the option to outline the fonts when creating the PDFs, the printers usually get in touch asking for the font, even though it has been outlined.
    I am hoping to find any simple solution, hopefully avoiding purchasing extra software, that avoids creating duplicate 'curved' files. I realise it's a big topic and not restricted to InDesign but this is the main software we are using so figured this was the place for it. Many thanks.

    I'll let others question the necessity of outlining text. It has been discussed many, many times before, and the only valid reasons I found so far are producing files for hopelessly outdated printers (the usual recommendation is "find another one, fast!") and for legacy custom hardware such as cutters and engravers.
    But this is really a mystery to me:
    It seems this process is necessary as whenever I select the option to outline the fonts when creating the PDFs, the printers usually get in touch asking for the font, even though it has been outlined.
    Tr this: outline all text in your ID document. Export as PDF. Check under Document Properties, Fonts. How many fonts do you see? If everything is outlined, there shouldn't be any.
    How does the printer know what fonts to ask for, and what is he ever gonna do with these fonts?

  • White Noise showing up in images after PDF Creation

    I am currently running into an issue making PDFs from InDesign CS4. Lately, our company has been getting some rather large jobs in to print and that's when this all started.
    The current job is 190 pages plus cover that will be perfect bound. The client, nor I can make one large PDF from this job so we have to break it up into sections. Usually each of the PDF sections has around 20-50 pages per.
    Now the issue we're running into is that on some of the pages, an image will end up with a bar or lines in it that looks like white noise. Like the image information was lost for a short period of time during the PDF creation from InDesign.
    Here are two pictures of pages from separate jobs and a close up on what's going on. **Second image was from a 32 page plus cover document we have already printed.
    Now in order for me to fix this issue is to just make a single page PDF of the effected pages in the document. I just wish I knew what was causing this issue so I know how to avoid it in the future. So far four jobs have been affected like this; two 32 page + cover jobs, a 64 page + cover job, and is job.
    We use a Rampage Workflow system here. My PDF settings in InDesign CS4 has all compression turned off, no profiles or color conversion turned on. I keep compression turned off because it seems sometimes, vector art done in Illustrator does not seem to come out looking well when RIP'd in Rampage.
    My main computer is a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac with 4 BG of memory running Mac OS X 10.5.8.
    My current version of InDesign CS4 is 6.0.3.  If anyone has run into this problem or if anyone has any helpful hints for me, I could really use them please. If you need more information from me, I'll be happy to answer any questions.
    Thanks for all the help!
    Roc

    That one has come up every now and then and has always been hardware as far as I know....  bad ram, bad cable, bad drive, bad network maybe even bad video card (?).
    I see that the lines in the rotated pic are parallel with that pic, so maybe look at the machine where that pic was made and placed first, this is not definite, but you can get corruption in tiffs on machines with hardware errors and they may not be visible every time you open the file.
    Although probably a bigger clue is the fact that doing singles is working better, that would make me change the ram completely, suspecting a bad module.  Also, unplug peripheral devices and see if that has any bearing.

  • Automating PDF Generation with Server-Side Acrobat - Benefit, Risks, Suggestions?

    Looking for some clarity...
    How feasible is it to automate PDF creation from Excel using Acrobat, as opposed to some third-party tool?
    The SDK seems out of date.  Any issues programming with .NET?
    Are there better products out there, from third-party providers?
    Suggestions?

    The product replaced Distiller Server, but does much more than that. That used to be $5000-$10000, I believe, but LiveCycle products are a custom quote.
    The price is set high partly because it can replace a whole office full of Acrobat licenses, one reason (but not the only one) why enterprise level products are in a different universe pricingwise. I'd expect to pay at least to match 100-200 lost sales of Acrobat.

  • Downloading PDF file with a servlet

    I'm working on a web application that dynamicaly creates a PDF file and then writes each character to the ServletOutputStream. Ideally, the browser is supposed to recognize the "application/pdf" MIME type and force the file to be downloaded (or opened from current location if the user should choose). When I test it on my local system, the file downloads but it uses the servlet as the file name. On my webserver I get the following problems.
    1) On all the browsers I've tested (except Internet Explorer), the output is being printed in ASCII to the display which keeps the file from downloading. Internet Explorer is the only browser that will actually download the file.
    2) When it does attempt to download the file, it is creating a file with the servlet as the name as opposed to the filename that I am assigning during creation.
    I've been reading all the related posts that I could find in these Forums but haven't been able to find a solution. If anybody has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate your knowledge. Please note that I have set up MIME-mapping for the PDF extension in the WEB.XML file on my web server.
    Here is some servlet code that handles the PDF creation and download:
    public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException {
    InputStream in = null;
    ServletOutputStream out = null;
    String dir = "/www/mydirectory/";
    try {
    // Create the PDF file and retrieve the filename
    String filename = PDFCreator.main();
    //Flush the response stream and then reset it for writing a PDF to the display
    response.reset();
    response.setContentType("application/pdf");
    response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename="+filename);
    out = response.getOutputStream();
    in = new BufferedInputStream( new FileInputStream(dir+filename));
    int ch;
    while ( (ch = in.read()) != -1 ) {
    out.print( (char)ch );
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    } finally {
    if( in != null ) {
    in.close();
    if( out != null ) {
    out.flush();
    out.close();

    Your code looks correct.
    Apparently other people too have been having problems with pdf's. These links may help you solve the problem.

    Redirecting may not be a good idea due to url hacking. Streaming the output would be the best way to go.
