  • PDF Form interfaces for invoice

    Hi experts,
I`m implementing company forms (e.g. invoices) in PDF Forms. But I have found, that there are 2 form interfaces predefined for invoices
    IS_U_BILL_IF
    and
    IS_U_BILL_PDF2_IF
Why there are 2 interfaces for invoice? I cannot find any references of use cases, when to use first or second one.
    Thank you
    Vlado

As noted there has to be a special folder level script installed on each user's system. This script can be written to access individual properties of the identity object or only a specific property. One can also create a function to access the identity object or even create new properties.

  • How to Interface a PDF Form to a Third-party Application

There are several ways of interfacing PDF forms to a third party application. The technique you choose depends on a number of factors, including exactly what youre trying to achieve, and the capabilities of the application.
Full details on how to do this can be found here:

Try to use Runtime.exec() method like this:
    String exePath = "path to acrobat reader executable";
    String filePath = "path to the file to execute";
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec(exePath+" "+filePath);

  • GTS Interface for PDF forms

    Hello Friends,
Is there a GTS interface for PDF based forms. I am working on PDF based print form for GTS systems.
Points will be rewarded for useful answers.
    Thanks,
    John.

    Hi John,
For adobe based pdf print forms, there are two entities which need to be created for proper execution - the form interface and form layout.
Both of these are accessed by the transaction SFP .
U first need to create a form interface. then u need to 'link' this active interface with the form layout. At runtime, the data fetched through the interface will be printed in the form.
when the activity message is configured, u can print the form via /SAPSLL/MENU_LEGAL transaction, giving the appropriate customs declaration number and going to the COMMUNICATION tab.

  • Some Questions on Adobe PDF Forms

    Hi,
I have some questions on Adobe Forms development (especially Adobe Forms in ABAP)
    1)     In a form interface, in the Code Initialization can we use Object Oriented Syntaxes such as class method calls, etc?
    2)     Can we declare Global Data variables with reference to Class References / Interfaces
    3)     Can we use the latest ECC 6.0 enhancement framework to add code in the standard form interface to enhance / enrich some logic within the form? This is to avoid copying the form interface into a Z in order to enrich the form via coding?
Please let me know if this is possible at all and how
    Will award points
    Thanking You in advance
    Regards,
    Aditya

That is possible of course. You should use the PDFObject API for that requirements.
    1. define a xml schema with all data given by SAP system.
    2. create a form template which uses this schema as data connection
    3. implement a java application (i.e. J2EE application) which:
    - gets the data from SAP system and generates some pdf files (using PDFObject API)
    - reads pdf files back to xml and submits the data to a BAPI

  • Web Dynpro as Callable object in GP using PDF Forms

    Hi All,
I somehow want to integrate a user filling out a pdf form within a Guided Procedure. So far I have created a local web dynpro DC and I want to make it a Web Dynpro Callable Object (GP Interface). The problem is, I want the user to be able to see the PDF form when filling out the form. For example, if they had a role in the portal where they can invoke the Web Dynpro application with the pdf form, then when they click submit on the pdf they invoke the guided procedure...is this possible? This is so, I can use the web dynpro to do some data validation and call some bapis to get info, then submit this all to the GP. Is this achievable? I know how to do most things, I just want to know things like when is the "execute" and "getDescription" methods called? I want my execute( com.sap.caf.eu.gp.co.api.IGPExecutionContext executionContext ) method to call a bapi also. Is that possible? How do I automate a GP process when I click submit on the pdf form?
    Thanks in advanced
    TM

    Hi,
You can integrate a PDF control in a Web Dynpro view. Refer the following links for that:
<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/dc/f1783fe3263042e10000000a114084/frameset.htm">Example of the Use of an Interactive PDF Form (SAP Library - Web Dynpro for Java)</a>

Also you can create Web Dynpro Java callable object in GP by implementing the IGPWebDynproCO interface. Refer the following links for that:
<a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50d74ada-0c01-0010-07a8-8c118d408e59">Implementing a Web Dynpro Callable Object which Implements the GP Interface</a>

You can start a GP process using the public API:
<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/fcdf77fc6510b3e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm">Starting and Terminating Processes Using the GP API (SAP Library - Creating Composite Applications)</a><a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/5f27e290-0201-0010-ff82-c21557572da1">Creating Interactive Forms in Web Dynpro for Java</a>
Also you can start a GP process using Web Service:
<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/44/44c59fd7c72e84e10000000a155369/frameset.htm">Starting a Process Using Web Services (SAP Library - Creating Composite Applications)</a>

Refering the above links you'll get a fairly good idea how to integrate Adobe forms in WDP and how to start GP process programitically. My suggestion for your requirement would be if always you need to start the process after the user submits the Adobe form, then consider having the Adobe form as the first step for the process. In that case you don't need to start the process programitically. Whenever the user starts filling up the Adobe form the GP process will start. You can refer <a href="/people/dipankar.saha3/blog/2007/03/02/how-to-present-your-gp-processes-to-the-end-user">this blog</a> on how to start a GP process as an iview link in portal.
Otherwise if based on certain conditions you need to start the process then you can either use the Java API or the web service to start the process from Web Dynpro. You should have the Adobe form embedded in Web Dynpro and on submit event you can check the conditions and start the process if required.
    Thanks,
    Dipankar

  • How to create a multiple PDF-form outputs into one PDF?

    Hi,
I`d like to create a PDF document with a few pages in it, build from different PDF-forms using many form-function calls. Where each PDF-form can use its own interface.
I`ve made a simple programme, but as the result I have a few separated documents with scrolling tab instead of one document with all pages in it.

Sorry, but making single PDF from many smartforms is not what I want to achieve. I wold like to know how to get one PDF document made by ALC-forms.
In my example I have many PDF documents. So, how to get (or put) them all in one PDF?
ps: the way to get one PDF from smartforms is also here:

  • Error during Opening Layout on PDF Forms - SFP

    Hi All,
I am trying to develop a PDF Form and I have succcessfully created interface and when i try to create a form, upon pressing the LAYOUT Tab or Button i get an error message and the trnasaction closes down
    Error Details are:
    ==================================================================================
    Error while opening document
    Message no. SOFFICEINTEGRATION143
    Diagnosis
An error occurred in the desktop application while opening a document.
    Procedure
Check first whether you can insert a document from this desktop application as an embedded object in another application. The necessary menu item is usually 'Insert --> Object'. The application then lists all of the OLE document types. Choose the type corresponding to the desktop applciation. If the insertion fails, the error is in the desktop application itself.
This error has various causes. Often, it is caused by activating certain add-ins. Sometimes, the desktop application is wrongly installed. The error should not recur once you have disabled any add-ins or reinstalled the desktop application.
    Procedure for System Administration
If you cannot solve the problem as described above, enter a problem message. There are notes relating to how to generate the log file using the program SAPROFFICEINTEGRATIONTRACE.

I check with the guys who do the SAP GUI installation and he did all he can do with no success. My GUI is 710 version with Patch level 7
Can anyone help me in identifying what I should be doing to have Layout opened in my system?
Thanks in advance to all of you,

  • Insert phots to PDF forms a problem in Acrobat 9.0 pro

I'm trying to figure out a way to insert image files into a PDF form. Ultimately I want to distribute this PDF form and allow the users the opportunity to insert their own picture. Unfortunately, there's no tool for this on the interface that I can find. I'm also very new to Acrobat, so that could be the reason.
The only way I was even able to do something like this was to use the watermark tool. But users of this form won't have Acrobat 9 or Pro to use to add their own picture. Is there a way to accomplish this so that users with Acrobat Readers will be able to do this?

Ted Padova has a blog on Enabling Adobe Reader Users Options for Importing Images on Forms that explains how to do this on AcrobatUsers.com at:
    http://www.acrobatusers.com/blogs/tedpadova/2007/10/09/enabling-adobe-reader-users-options -for-importing-images-on-forms/

  • Multiple digital signatures in a pdf form?

I'm creating an adobe pdf form that requires multiple approvers (one after the other) to digitally sign the form. However, once the second person digitally signs the form, the first person's signature will become invalid because the addition of the second signature is not signed by the first person.
Is it possible to digitally sign the pdf form excluding the signatures?  and how to allow multiple signature in a pdf form while ensuring the form integrity?

    Hi,
I doubt that the addition of a second signature actually invalidates (the red X icon) the first signature, but rather it shows the signature as Valid with Changes (the pen & yellow triangle icon). Technically, that is the correct signature status, but because it caused so much confusion, beginning with version 9, we've changed the user interface and stopped indicating changes to the PDF if the only change is a subsequent signature.
If on the other hand you are getting the red X for the first signature please let me know as I'd be curious to see the file.

  • Delete leading zeros for a field on the pdf form

    Hi,
i know it is possible to delete leading zeros via abap coding in the interface.
But is it also possible to this directly on the pdf form - scripting or a setting?
    Thank you
    Kind regards
    Manfred

I believe you can set this up as a field display pattern (if you use LCD 8.1 or something like that).
Or you can script that out. In formcalc you can easily process characater by character, test if that is zero and remove it.

  • Saving PDF form on Mac prevents viewing and printing by another viewer

We run a student competition which is affiliated with a national competition.  The national competition provides a set of forms that must be filled out by the students, teachers, etc.  We have a process set up whereby students can download a PDF form (which is enabled by the authors  for saving from Reader).  They are supposed to fill out this form (actually several of them), and then save the file(s) to their drive.  Once they have the forms filled out and approved by their teacher, they upload them to our website via a standard web form, which simply saves the uploaded PDF for later viewing by the student, teachers, judges, and committee members.  When students do this using Adobe Reader on a PC, it works fine.  (I'm not sure if Reader X works, actually, but I know Reader 9 does).  The problem, though, comes up with Mac users.  When they do the same thing, it seems to override the extended rights in the document, resulting in a document saved on their disk that displays with all the fields initially unviewable (that is  they all appear blank).  If you click on one of the fields, you can view the fields one at a time.  Each field appears and disappears as you move thru the document.  But we can't simply read the form, nor can we print a copy (which is necessary if the student wins and proceeds to the national competition.)  This is true if the form is uploaded or emailed or transported by USB drive--it is simply a property of the saved file.   In our testing, this appears to be a generic property of forms processed on  a Mac--and we haven't found a way around it.  Is there any way for a student who has filled out a form on a Mac to save the form while PRESERVING the extended rights?  Or do we just have to tell them that Macs don't work right?  If there is a way for them to do this, I could provide the instructions on the page that delivers the forms.  But we've tried to explore the Mac interface (inside Safari and in the PDF viewer that is provided on the Mac systems) and can't find any place that gives options that seem to affect the extended rights.  Help!

There's an easy way around it. Make sure they are using Adobe Reader to fill in the form. 99% of these cases are because they are using the Mac Preview application to open PDF's and it will corrupt Adobe forms.

  • Submit PDF form data IMS database.

    Hello
I have developed a pdf form using livecycle designer and it has a submit button in it. The form is published to our organization website. What we would like to do is, when the user opens and fills up the pdf form either on web browser / or after downloading to their desktop, users should be able to post the data in the form directly into our IMS database. Our users are not connected to our organization network but just to the internet.
I understand that we need to use a Submit button with 'Submit As' property set to XML. IMS connect is an IBM interface that would read this xml and pass the data to the database. But, what I would like to know is the architecture and how the components communicate here. i.e. for our design document.
I am assuming that we would need to lay out these components on the diagram but not very sure of the order in which the data is flowing from client to the database.
    1. Web browser
    2. Internet Connection
    3. Webserver (this is where the org. website is and the form is located on the website)
    4. LiveCycle ES sitting on an application server?
    5. Database tier.
Appreciate if anyone could tell me exactly the steps and the data flow.

You cannot use a submit button to invoke a web service. You woudl create your web service to recieve a single parameter (the XML that represents the data on your form). Then create a hidden field (to hold the data) and bind the input parameter to that field. Now using a regular button, add code that will take the data that is in the data dom and dump it into your hidden field:
    HiddenFieldName.rawValue = xfa.datasets.data.saveXML("pretty")
Make sure the your hidden field is set for multiline. Now in the next line of code we need to invoke the web service. You can use the invokeBtn supplied by the DataConenction wizard (dropped on your form of course). You can use the command:
    invokeBtn.execEvent("click");
This will send the data in the hidden field to the web service. You can code your web service to return a string that indicates that the data was recieved. You can bind that output parameter to another hidden field. Once the web service executes then that field will hold the message string. Now you can put up a message box to the user:
    app.alert(hiddenfieldname.rawValue);
When I talk about hidden fields I mean to make the presence invisible not hidden.
    Make sense?

  • Fill a PDF form from HTML form

I Have a HTML inquiry form that print a PDF form. I don't know how to pass the fields vars in my HTML to PDF vars

you can see de app in www.karakol.es
is a jquery interface and javascript program
At the end of section 4, once filled out the form the user opens the PDF form with form fields listed.
The user prints the PDF opened by any printer or save the PDF to mail
Before open the PDF the data colected are sent to a server.
Of course you can call a saved form an display in the user interface

  • Using importdata to import xml data into dynamic PDF form

    Hi again,
Me and my colleagues have a problem using the importData service to import some xml data into an empty PDF form (represented as an XFA input variable).
In the server log I get the error that Only XDP data is supported for XFA forms, however I only have the xml data and not the entire xdp available.
Is this really not possible to to (like importing xml data to a form is possible in the Designer when creating forms).
I hope the scenario is understandable

    Hi again,<br /><br />I have been experimenting a little with both the renderPDFForm and importData services. However I don't seem to be ble to make them work as I  need them to.<br /><br />My scenario is simple, I have one (call it a template xdp/PDF form) and lots of data in xml files (around 1000), that I need to import into the template. Therefore I have set up a "Watched Folder" to take the xml as a document (I guess this is a requirement) and then I need either the renderPDF or importData services to import the xml data into the template.<br /><br />I would like to know how I should setup the services to make this work.<br /><br />When I try to use importdata I setup the following:<br /><br />PDF document: set to be the template i need to import the xml to)<br /><br />Input data: the document variable (an xml file) that is passed to the   Watched Folder<br /><br />Data merged PDF: set to an out xfaform<br /><br />When I do this I get an Coercion error in the server log:<br /><br />2007-11-15 13:27:05,324 ERROR [com.adobe.workflow.AWS] stalling action-instance: 1506 with message: ALC-DSC-000-000: com.adobe.idp.dsc.DSCRuntimeException: Internal error.<br />     at com.adobe.idp.dsc.util.CoercionUtil.toDOMDocument(CoercionUtil.java:656)<br />     at com.adobe.idp.dsc.util.CoercionUtil.toType(CoercionUtil.java:878)<br />     at com.adobe.idp.dsc.util.CoercionUtil.toType(CoercionUtil.java:803)<br />     at com.adobe.workflow.datatype.runtime.support.AbstractDataTypeRuntimeHandler.coerceFrom(Abs tractDataTypeRuntimeHandler.java:64)<br />     at com.adobe.workflow.datatype.runtime.support.AbstractComplexDataTypeRuntimeHandler.getNode (AbstractComplexDataTypeRuntimeHandler.java:47)<br />     at com.adobe.workflow.dom.VariableElement.setBoundValue(VariableElement.java:93)<br />     at com.adobe.workflow.pat.service.PATExecutionContextImpl.setProcessDataValue(PATExecutionCo ntextImpl.java:729)<br />     at com.adobe.workflow.pat.service.PATExecutionContextImpl.setProcessDataWithExpression(PATEx ecutionContextImpl.java:335)<br />     at com.adobe.idp.workflow.dsc.service.SetValueService.execute(SetValueService.java:46)<br />...<br />Caused by: ALC-DSC-119-000: com.adobe.idp.dsc.util.InvalidCoercionException: Cannot coerce object: <document state="passive" senderVersion="3" persistent="false" senderPersistent="true" passivated="true" senderPassivated="true" deserialized="true" senderHostId="127.0.0.1/172.16.10.125" callbackId="0" senderCallbackId="7" callbackRef="null" isLocalizable="true" isTransactionBound="false" defaultDisposalTimeout="600" disposalTimeout="600" maxInlineSize="65536" defaultMaxInlineSize="65536" inlineSize="8039" contentType="application/xml" length="-1"><cacheId/><localBackendId/><globalBackendId/><senderLocalBackendId/><senderGl obalBackendId/><inline><?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><br /><form1><br />  <sub_BlanketTop /><br />  <sub_SubjectTop><br />    <f...</inline><senderPullServantJndiName>adobe/idp/DocumentPullServant/adobejb_server1</s enderPullServantJndiName><attributes file="c:\NCRConvert\ProcessForm\stage\Wx450d4b32843a0b0bcb8ef99e\NCR-00564_dXAE3soH.xml"/ ></document> of type: com.adobe.idp.Document to type: interface org.w3c.dom.Document<br />     at org.apache.xerces.parsers.DOMParser.parse(Unknown Source)<br />     at org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderImpl.parse(Unknown Source)<br /><br />However it is possible to manually import the xml data in Acrobat Professional without any problems.<br /><br />When I use the renderPDFForm with the following settings:<br /><br />Form to render: literal value that points to the template<br /><br />Form data: document variable from watched folder (xml)<br /><br />Content Root URI: repository://<br /><br />With these settings I also get a coercion error, however it does not seem to be exactly the same.<br /><br />Sincerely<br />Kim
