Pdf into link
Just getting started here. I'm wondering if I can make a pdf into a usable httpS link so people can down load my document by filling out a form. thanks
The best method is to first add an Go To URl interaction from the interactions panel. You can enter the url to the pdf. If you know the full url of the PDf you want to show, you can enter the complete url here and it should work. However, if the url is unknown or you want to use a relative path, then you will have to user Flash Builder.
You might want to also select the Open in New Window option.
Please note that once you open your Flash Catalyst 1.0 project in Flash Builder you will be unable to reopen it in Flash Catalyst. Once you have opened the project in Flash Builder, look for some ActionScript within the <fx:Script> tag that looks like this:
navigateToURL( new URLRequest( encodeURI("http://theURLtoThePDF")), "_blank");
and change the "http://theURLtoThePDF" to what you need it to be, then republish the swf from Flash Builder.
As for the Illustrator issue, there is a limit to the file size and complexity. You might want to try simplifying the layers and grouping with the file. I am more of a Photoshop user, so that is about as far as I can go to help on that issue.
Good Luck!
Chris

Hi infoc12141333,
You can use the "Create Anonymous Link" option in Adobe Send to create a link to your PDF, which you can ten include in your newsletter. Please follow these steps:
Log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/send (if you don't already have an Acrobat.com account, you can sign up at the same link).
Click Select Files to Send.
Navigate to the PDF file that you want to link to, select it, and then click Choose.
Select Create Anonymous Link, and then click Create.
Copy the link and paste it into your newsletter.
Please let us know if you have additional questions.

Hello,
I know you can add links and bookmarks within a pdf, that will take you to other areas of that particular pdf. However, I need to put a link or bookmark into a pdf that will allow a user to click on a link in Captivate, Flash, Dreamweaver, etc and be taken directly to that section within the pdf.
Can you create a link on a website that will take you to a particular spot within a pdf? Or will it just open the pdf and display the first page, and then the user would have to scroll to that section?
If this can't be done, what is a good solution? Thanks so much!

How to load externl files (PDF) into BLOB column. Please help.
Hi All,
I've currently been working on loading many external binary files (PDF) into BLOB column. After some digging, I learn that the SQL*LOADER can be used to load data from external files into table. I also got help from another forummate mentioning to use PL/SQL procedure to do so. Since I have not done anything like this before. So, my question is what is the simple approach needed to upload PDF files into a table(there is only one table containing BLOB column in my database). In addition, the LOBs can not be query-able, I wanted to list the contents of the LOBs column to make sure that I did successfully upload data into the database. How can I do that?. I do need your help. Please direct me step by step how to do so. Your help is greatly appreciated.

How do I convert .pdf into searchable OCR using Adobe Acrobat Capture 3.0?
How do I convert .pdf into searchable OCR using Adobe Acrobat
Capture 3.0?
Our division is digitizing it's files, and we've been using
Adobe Acrobat 5.0 (2). We've 'scanned-in' several hundred
documents, but they have been saved as .pdf files (which are
currently not 'searchable', as they are only scanned images).
We just received the Adobe Acrobat Capture 3.0 program, and
we were told that we would be able to scan-in any new documents and
save them both as .pdf and OCR documents (Optical Character
Recognition). Therefore, we were told, we would be able to search
through the body of the document, using OCR, and not just through
the document filename, as we had been doing before.
HOWEVER, we don't know how to use this new OCRing program.
Also, we don't know how to convert the .pdf documents which we've
already scanned into OCR recognizable documents.
Is someone able to assist us here in this forum?
Merci beaucoup / Shokran jazilan / Thank you very much!

How do I add a PDF into a Topic in RobHelp 9?
I have been asked to add PDFs into a user guide which is in RoboHelp 9. I am unable to figure out how to insert the PDF into my topic. How can this be accomplished or is this impossible to do?
Thank you.Hi and welcome to the RH community.
Are you saying you want a link to a PDF? If so, the way I handle this is to add a hyperlink to the PDF which automatically imports the PDF and places it as a Baggage File in the Project Manager pod. When you add the hyperlink, just click the down arrow next to the "Link to" field and select File.

I am trying to convert a PDF into a document that can be edited - it's a client feedback form. I am using Adobe forms Central and it's saying that it can't use my document.
Hi Michelle ,
We are extremely sorry that you have had a bad experience with Adobe .
As far as your issue is concerned ,Acrobat generally prompts for internet connection as it is required to activate the product before you could use it comfortably .Once the product is activated or licensed you would be able to use the software offline .
This could be the possible reason you are experiencing this .Please check if you have done so and still facing this .And if you have not ,you need to license/activate your product by typing in your credentials ,i.e Adobe ID and password .
You could also refer the following link to get updated about the activation of your product .

Help packaging a PDF with links
Hey everyone, I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered already but I couldn't find it using the search. I have a PDF file that I have embedded a bunch of links to other local files in. Both the PDF and the files that are linked to are in one common folder. I would like to merge them all into one package but maintain the link integrity. So, I would have a single file but when I click on the sentence, it would take me to the linked file within that package. If thats not possible, is there a way to print the PDF but also show the links within the PDF? Kind of like the "reveal codes" type feature where you can see that think sentence links to that file, etc. Thanks for your help!
BrianWhen you combine PDFs into a Package (Acrobat 8) or a Portfolio (Acrobat 9 & X) links present between two PDFs that are combined into the Package / Portfolio are broken. The PDFs combined into a Package/Portfolio become attachments to the new PDF created (the Package/Portfolio).
The links between PDFs are between descrete stand alone PDF files not between files that are attachments in the new PDF.
Once PDFs are combined into the new Package/Portfolio PDF you can use the Link Tool to create links.
The PDF annotation that is a "link" does not have a "reveal codes" functionality.
Keep in mind that PDF is very much a different thing from word processing or layout file formats.

Reader security warning message on pdf page linking
Hi All
I am building, for the 5th year running, an archive of a publications years magazines in pdf format. The pages are linked so that when for example an issue magazine cover is clicked in an index page I have created, it takes the viewer to the appropriate magazine pdf, all of which are stored as seperate files.
This has worked fine up until the introduction of Adobe Reader XI. Now a security warning message popup is generated every time a link to another page is clicked.
"This document is trying to access - page.pdf - if you trust this document then choose Allow if not choose Block"
We can't have this so:
Option One: Combine all the pdfs into one file, thus avoiding the problem but making a 400Meg file which may be a little unwealdy to edit
Option Two: Certify all the pages with a third party validated digital signature.
Question does any know if the Option Two will solve the problem?
I have aqured a test certificate from GlobalSign but it is maked as a test certificate and not to be trusted (not sure what the point of it is then!) and this does not work.
We don't want to pay $400 only to find that this does not solve the problem.
Anybody?
Thanks
KeithIn Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro I use the MArquee select Link Tool. It looks like a chain on the Advanced Editing toolbar.
Then the pages are linked using Open a file , or Go to a page view.
I am beging to think that this ia a bug. Because in edit / prefferenecs / security advanced / Add folder path. When you do this for a particular folder it makes no difference, you still get the Warning message. -
I need to convert hundreds of TRANSPARENT PDFs into PNG or TIFF
I need to convert hundreds of TRANSPARENT PDFs into PNG or TIFF.
That's not possible with Acrobat. It’s possible to convert hundreds of PDFs into PNG or TIFF using batch processing. But transparency is LOST!
Photoshop is the only software I know of which is able to keep transparency when converting from PDF to PNG.
But now I have problems to get batch processing running.
I made an Action with “Open file”, “Save as PSD” and “Export to PNG”.
Using this Action in batch-process-files with source as a folder with many PDFs and target as a different folder results in many opened PDFs within Photoshop. Nothing else happens:-(.
Any ideas?
Thanks
NorbertGreat:)
It worked at once.
Thank you so much for this link.

Website to PDF - Keeping links ...
Hi
I've been asked to do a job where I have to convert a website so that each page is a pdf.
I have done this using the convert web to pdf website which is free and brilliant. It keeps the links which is impressive.
However it plonks a logo down the bottom of the convert2pdf website down the bottom which the client doesnt want. He also wants various other things link at the top of each web page there is a "join the mailing list" bit which he wants removed.
I thought of bringing the pdf into indesign and just covering the things he doesnt want with white boxes and re-pdfing but then the links disapear.
Any ideas anyone?
Cheers
SI have tried to use this function but the page doesnt come out in the correct format. It seems to take the menu bar and make it into a list, one under the other!

Convert Multi Pages PDF into SWF SLideshow
Is there an easy way to convert a multiple page PDF into an
SWF slideshow?
What I need to do is to make a slideshow out of a 30 pages
PDF, hoping to have it play slide by slide automatically with a 5-7
seconds interval.
Help appreciated!Thank you isabellarola!
However the link you posted only tells you how to import a
Flash video into a Powerpoint Presentation. I actually need it the
other way around, which is PDF to SWF. I tried SWFTOOLS but the
result is very disappointment and the options are limited. -
Mac 10.5.6, DW CS4, Acrobat Pro 9,
How does one imbed a pdf. Please understand that I am coming
from GoLive, and quite upset that the conversion is not going well,
and I hate DW's GUI. I would appreciate specifics if possible. I am
completely confused and rattled at this point. Thanks.
Can I ask a secondary question? Why does "put" not work.
Neither in Files (remote/local) or from the page after I save it,
and hit the icon in the Tool Bar, or use cnd+shift+U (or whatever
it is). I always have to drag from the Local Files to the Remote
Files window. Isn't there an automatic way to just refresh my
remote site with one button, and any changes are uploaded? GoLive
had this..oO(hitandmiss)
>I want the pdf within the page, not linked. Personal

>going to get yelled at here?
Impossible. How a PDF will be opened depends on the client's
settings
and capabilities. You can't control that. Sometimes your PDF
will be
opened in the same browser window/tab, sometimes it will be
opened in an
external viewer like Foxit for example. It's out of your
control.
> Integrity has to do with ALL pages looking the same.
Yes, _web pages_, but not print documents. Totally different
medium.
>When click to a pdf link,
>it takes me out of the sites integrity. Its feel. It's
look, i.e, I loose my
>buttons for other links that are on ALL OTHER pages.
Sure. A PDF is not a web page. In fact it's not even suitable
for
anything related to the WWW, because it's a print format.
Completely
different thing compared to the flexible nature of the WWW.
> I know how to point and click to create links. I want to

Impossible.
