I need to make a pdf an editable template. The security permissions allow this. How do I do it?

You need Acrobat. Reader can't do it.

How do I add image upload to web app edit template. When creating fields I am selecting image from the field type. But the only way to upload and image is when I create the web app item within the admin. The option to upload an image is not available when the user submit web form opens.

On the Details tab of the Web App setup, under Web App Item Options; have you ticked "Allow File Upload" and specified a Default Upload Folder?

Can someone tell me how I can see my content (artwork and text) after I import it into LiveCycle Designer ES4? I like to import and make the content of the original PDF document editable; preserves the pdf appearance and retains existing fields and formatting, then allow me to do the modifications and save it back into the original PDF document with changes. I have tried everything but still cannot see my content(artwork and Text) of my original PDF after importing it into LiveCycle. All I see are is a blank page with the formatting and layout of where my artwork and text should be. I like to see everything if possible so after I make my change I will know how it will look when I save it back into the PDF and open it in Acrobat Reader.

I'm looking to see if there is a way to make only part of a PDF document editable. My problem is, I have pieces of collateral that some of our channel partners need to be able to add their logo to and then edit the contact information on them, but we don't want them to be able to change any of the main copy on these documents. The only thing I've been able to come up with as a solution is to create outlines of the text that I don't want editable, but I need the copy to be able to be read by computer systems for disability purposes. Does anyone have any ideas on something I could do for this? Or has anyone dealt with anything like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can use Acrobat to make only part of a PDF document editable.

Edit Template in Dynamic Conversion Admin is not working

Latest oracle UCM 10gR3 is installed with patches and Site Studio 1ogR4 on windows XP and it is running fine.
When I click on "Edit Template" button after selecting a template in Oracle Content Server >> Administration >> Dynamic Converter Admin >> Edit template nothing happens and no error message is displayed. Some times a dialog pops up with message "preparing to install template editor..". The first time I clicked on this "Edit Template" button, it has installed "Template Editor 10gR3(10.1.3.4.1) version 9.0.0" successfully and it is there in program files.
I find that Dynamic Conversion is working fine by checking in a word doc and it generates HTML. I tried this on IE6 and IE8 on two different UCM installation by enabling IE to run all ActiveX and Javascript but it did not work on either. I am logged on as admin user.
What could be the issue and how to resolve?

How do I converting PDF to editable Word?

I've follwoed the onscreen directions multiple times over the past week but have been unable to acheive a successful conversion. The uploading file to Adobe ExportPDF online monitor just keeps going round and round in circles for HOURS! There is no sign of any progress. I don't know if the programme is doing anything or sitting sucking its thumb. How can I tell if it is progressing or if it is jammed. And more importantly how do I get these blessed files converted from scanned PDF to editable Word? I have Windows 8 but am really struggling to get my usual applications to work properly with the new operating system.

A scanned document is really just an image; converting it to Word will still result in an image.
The scanned document needs text recognition processing (OCR); I don't know if ExportPDF can actually do that.
I will move your topic to the ExportPDF forum, where they know a lot more about it than here in the Reader forum.

Let me first say the DW CC SUCKS!!! Why can't I edit templates in CC that I created in DW CS6?

When I try to edit templates, ANY template, that I created in CS6, I can't. The tool bars are grayed out. The properties panel is grayed out. It acts as though it is in LIVE mode, but it isn't, or not that I can see. I'm trying to edit a link in my footer, but every time I try to place the cursor on the link to select it, the cursor is a pointing finger. I can't select it to edit it, unless I go edit the code. This brings up another question about editing templates. This involves the same link in the previous question. In CS6, I edited this link with the new link to a page. When I SAVE ALL, I get the box asking if I want to update all pages that use the template, I say yes. The code reflects the change, but the link doesn't change in LIVE view or Preview in a Browser. It still tries to load the old page, which I have deleted. This happens in DW CS6 too. I want to use CC because I am paying for it. But I have found it fights me every inch of the way. Luckily I have CS6. But it isn't very good either. Any ideas?

Adjusting Edit template in Web app

Hi All,
Is it possible to adjust the edit template in a web app so that certain users can edit only certain fields?
I am using a web app to submit insurance claims for cell phone repairs, my technicans on my premises should have access to all fields in terms of editing but the insurance administrator company should have restrictions on certain fields that they can edit.
If you look below for example, i would only like the insurance administrators to be able to see in the 'STATUS' field the drop down 'Approved' and nothing else. As well as Item name, Client First Name, Policy number, Claim Number and Quote approved date

Nothing in BC supports this I am affraid. For someone to edit a webapp they have to become the owner of it and only they will be able to login and edit that web app item in full.

Problem on editing template   .dwt file

I have a problem with dreamweaver template.
When I edit a template in dreamweaver, and apply changes to all the pages , it propogates on all pages and .dwt file also ,
but all the design or layout or graphics of the pages are gone and everything gets messed up.

The problem is your link to CSS file. Template is incorrectly pointing to files on your local hard drive.

The link must point to your site folder like this:
     <link rel="stylesheet" href="../mm_health_nutr.css" type="text/css" />

We are using Veristand 2011.When we run any sequence in stimulus profle editor,we get test results in form of ATML file.
We want to customise the template for this test result generation as per our requirement.
For example:
Test case No.: Description of test case.
Objectives: Explanation of objectives.
Result: Passed/ Failed.
Graph: If any.
Please suggest how to do this.

You cant really change too much in the report, you can customize TRML.xsl which is created every time in the Test Results\UUT 1 folder and that would give you some flexibility on what is shown. I dont know what a xsl is actually able to do in terms of composing data from multiple files (if at all possible) but it definitely allows you to change the visual format of the existing xml data.
Otherwise I modified the xsl to customize the look of the xml report when opened in a browser to have less clutter and some coloring on the Pass/Fail but, the reports are XML files anyway so it's easy to extract data out of them and you can probably write your own report creation tool to compose the report in whatever format you like.

I cant save a pdf after editing

I cant save a pdf after editing it. My edits = mark up of text using yellow highlight marker.
the file downloaded from internet by doing saving as (in explorer that opened the pdf once cliced upon in the browser)
the file looks like an pdf in my organizer
use acrobat 9 pro
browers explorer 9
system windows 9 enterprise

I have the same problem. I have a PDF thats 1gb, and it hasnt been any problems saving it in the past, but now when i try to add other pdf-documents to it i cant save the file. Literally nothing happens when i press "save", or "save as".
I have tried to make a copy of the file and that doesnt help. Everything is "Allowed" when i check ctrl+d.
What can be wrong?

Users are not able to save pdfs after editing - Adobe XI. They do not use the Win7 explorer preview pane. If they completely close the Win7 explorer window, they can save - Adobe XI thinks the preview pane is open when it is not.

Users are not able to save pdfs after editing. Product is Adobe XI, OS is Win7 64-bit. When saving, an error pops up that the file cannot be saved, it is in use. If they save as a different name, it works. Found several forums/blogs/etc that suggest the problem can be solved by closing the Window7 explorer preview pane. They don't use the preview pane. I figured out that if they completely close the explorer window, they can save. But this means they have to open and close explorer for each file.

Hi, I would like to chime in and say that this problem has not yet been resolved. It is extremely annoying when all I do is highlight a document in the file explorer and I get 5 errors (evenly spaced out about 20 seconds apart telling me that "Microsoft
Word Cannot Start (24)". These errors persist even after windows explorer and word are closed. And I don't want to start terminating processes just to make them stop every time.
I'm a little frustrated with this problem and the other problems I've encountered with MS Office 2013 with file corruption, crashing, 2010 compatibility issues, and the whole host of errors when trying to actually do WORK with Word.
I do work with long, complex reports in Word because that's the best way available for myself (and my coworkers) to use. However, I sincerely regret upgrading to Office 2013 because of it. I love it, all of its features, and its interface, but I simply cannot

Locking editable template regions to Contribute users only

Hi,
I would like to know if it's possible to lock some editable
template regions to Contribute users only? We need to have these
regions editable through Dreaweaver so our site designers can still
modify them. I'm not talking about the "Optional region" here, just
a "regular" editable region.

there's no option to restrict access to contribute users only
when using Dreamweaver templates.. but a possible dirty workaround
would be to place those editable regions inside dynamic code (ASP,
PHP, JSP, etc..) as Contribute won't be able to interpret them..
they won't be visible in Contribute
